Hi all.

As per the title, TTC first baby, I've never had a confirmed pregnancy before. I'm 31, bf is 27.

Been trying to conceive 9 months, but due to PCOS only 6 cycles.

This year I've lost weight, and my cycles since January have varied from 28 days to 38 days. Had PCOS confirmed, and currently waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist to see if I need further assistance. Appointment is taking its sweet time so for now doing it the old fashioned way still with plenty of hope (at least some days, not so much others!!!).

I'm currently on cycle day number 28, negative tests, no signs of a period in sight, CM up to my eyeballs and a whole heap of doubt over when ovulation occured!!

If you are :

TTC #1
A woman who has never been pregnant
Pissing on sticks at an ALARMING rate
Potentially with PCOS but healthy ovaries welcome 😁

Then PLEASE join my thread, so in need of buddies in a similar boat! ⛵

No offence to those TTC #2 or more, genuinley ❤️ just hoping to speak to people who also have no idea what pregnancy would feel like, and who also maybe have the fear they CANNOT ever get pregnant ❤️

Update from me finally, I think my period may be starting. I've had spotting since I woke up and think it may finally be coming today - here's hoping!

Although disappointingly I turned out I did have sex slap bang on what must have been ovulation day if it is starting now, so another unexplained failed attempt!

Morning everyone, how are we ?

Tater05 · 29/10/2024 12:04

@MocktailMe Was it your period? If it is I'm glad you can be on track again!

I've had much higher BBT readings than I usually do since ovulation this month so I've continued to track through the 2ww and it's stayed high with a couple of small dips. Just taken a test at 12dpo and another stark white negative for me 🙃Now I remember why I don't usually track my temps after ovulation, it gets my hopes up too much! I'm also only just getting used to having this slightly longer LP as I used to get my period by 10dpo, so it feels like I've missed a period but I probably haven't.

I expect AF will turn up tomorrow or Thursday, if not I'll test again on Friday and ban myself from testing before then.

MocktailMe · 29/10/2024 13:20

Yes it was my period. Disappointingly I tried to book my hysterosalpingogram and as I suspected, due to my period being so late the window to have the procedure now falls during the time I'm away this month. When I booked this trip the chances of this clashing were so very very low, but that 46 day cycle has shifted dates a lot!

Which is absolutely typical! However, I'm not away at all in December so trying not to let myself get too down about it - hopefully they'll have a slot then and I can book again. They told me not to worry and just ring again on CD1 next time same again.

We will try again this month regardless as why not 😅 I'm not taking the Metformin again anyway, as I feel like it's really badly messed my cycle up with a 22 day cycle followed by 46! I was better off and more regular without it.

Hey all!

Im 8DPO today, had a few pains yesterday which were so sharp and then upset stomach this morning so maybe ive eaten something dodgey. I had my usual bloating appear yesterday evening. So, realistically no symptoms over here 😔 not feeling very positive.

Dont want to test early ideally, but also sometimes I think I find it easier to accept that I’m out rather than AF just catching me off guard. Will see how I go the next few days.

@MocktailMe As disappointing as that is, least you have started a fresh cycle now finally. Good luck with the procedure 🤞

@Tater05 i have the version of myself in the TWW 🤣 I symptom spot, hold onto hope and then minutes later will be convincing myself it’s not my month and to calm down. Still time for things to change for you, hopefully it does!

Tater05 · 29/10/2024 14:24

@MocktailMe it's sod's law isn't it! Hopefully you'll have a more relaxed November knowing you won't be booking it until December, and like you said you still might as well try!

@KT199 I thought I was good at not symptom spotting but I'm fooling myself 😂my dog wouldn't stop staring at me all evening and I decided it must be because I must be pregnant, he doesn't usually stare at me that much. I was only about 6dpo so little to no chance, must've just looked funny or something! I know what you mean with the testing, as much as I don't like seeing so many BFNs I find it easier to accept that it's not my month, rather than waiting the extra few days for AF to turn up. I've already counted myself out this month so it won't be a surprise when AF arrives

How long have you been trying if you don’t mind me asking?

I am the same symptom wise, I really had convinced myself this morning that my upset tummy and pains just had to mean I was pregnant.. but the reality is that is most likely not the case. And as for the testing, the only reason I would hold off is because I’m scared of getting a nasty evap/indent and then being more hurt. I also don’t think the tests I have at home at great for early detection as I only have the early clear blue, blue dye and some wondfo cheapies which I’m unsure of the detection level.

Tater05 · 29/10/2024 15:15

@KT199 Just about to go into cycle 9, how about you?

It's horrible isn't it, and the trouble is most of the symptoms for pregnancy are the same as PMS because it's the progesterone levels that give us those symptoms, and we'd get that whether we're pregnant or not!
Me too, I've only got the cheap strips from amazon and the rapid detection clear blue. I've thankfully never experienced an evap or indent but from what I've seen on here they look quite common.

I'm tempted to have a couple of months with no tracking or testing, just having sex enough so that we should cover it and wait for AF the old fashioned way. Depends if DH has to do this 2 month work trip - it's starting to look like he might not. I hate when people say relax and it'll happen, but I don't think the daily reminders of it are helping.

A few months behind, currently cycle 3 would be going into cycle 4 if not positive this month.

I know, I find it worse as time goes on as I feel I’m getting to know my usual symptoms, but the problem is every month I seem to have one I don’t normally have that’s either a coincidence or badly timed, like my upset tummy today.

Ahh, I wish I could not track tbh. I’m too much of a control freak, I’d love to not but absolutely don’t think I have it in me

Waitingformiracle · 29/10/2024 15:35

Hi All! I'm 9 DPO with a BFN today. I know it's early but something in my heart is telling me it's not happening this month, I don't even have a hint of a line. Feeling pretty down coming up to my would-be due date in November, but trying to focus on the positives!

@MocktailMe sorry to hear your period arrived and that you'll have to wait longer for your HSG.

@Tater05 sorry you got a BFN 😔 temping after ovulation can really get your hopes up, I have been there!

@KT199 fingers crossed for you this cycle, you're definitely right to hold out testing if you can. I started early this month and it's so depressing seeing that white test.

Tater05 · 29/10/2024 15:43

@KT199 Fingers crossed you don't need to go into cycle 4! I think no matter what month you're in it's the not knowing how long it will take over all, I can't speak for others but I feel much the same in cycle 8 as I did in cycle 3.

Even into cycle 8 I'm still getting symptoms that are different from previous months. I think that's it that must be all the symptoms I could have and then another one appears the next month! I have quite enjoyed tracking, it gets weirdly exciting seeing the line get darker with an LH surge. But it's making me a bit obsessive now and I could do without that tbh 😅

@Waitingformiracle sorry for your BFN, must be especially difficult coming up to your would-be due date 💙You're not out yet though, 9 dpo is still very early. It's good that you're already focusing on the positives, sounds like the right mind set!

KT199 · 29/10/2024 16:55

@Tater05 fair enough! I feel like I get a little more anxious with every cycle that passes. Although I have paid to have a hormone panel done, full blood count and a few other bloods and that all came back fine. We also did an exceed test for my OH and that was fine too. I do worry I may have a thin uterine lining as I have very short periods (1 day of moderate and 1 day of light then 1 day spotting), which I discussed with a Dr but they said nothing to worry about but it does slightly concern me. So it may be in the new year I look for a clinic which could do the pelvic ultrasound for me if the anxiety is getting too much. I definitely am a worrier and a control freak so, anything to put my mind at ease or even just know so we can look to tackle it.

@Waitingformiracle sorry to hear your feeling down, it can’t be easy for you at all. I’m sorry you’re going through this and experienced the MC.

I know what you mean about having a gut feeling, as I have one too. But we are still both early in the DPO window. I’m trying to be abit positive, but everyone always says you have a feeling when you are, and I defo do not have that feeling this evening.

Tater05 · 29/10/2024 17:14

@KT199 It's reassuring having the bloods done, I got mine done last month and we're getting my DH tested soon too and it definitely helped put our minds at ease. No harm in getting an ultrasound done, the more you know the better you can plan for it and feel more in control!

KT199 · 01/11/2024 13:54

11DPO and BFN. Oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️ suspect AF will arrive Sunday as the cramping has begun.

How is everyone doing/feeling?

Have any of you ladies had a pelvic ultrasound to look for cysts, at lining, ovaries, womb, uterus size/shape ect? Think I’m going to book one in this month, just wondering if anyone found them helpful?

Waitingformiracle · 01/11/2024 14:20

Sorry to hear about your BFN @KT199 I am 12 DPO and also had a BFN so I am out for this cycle. On to cycle #6 since my loss and cycle #13 total. I'm feeling ok about things though, I am certain we will get there soon. Yes I had that ultrasound last January, and it was helpful just to give me a bit of reassurance as they didn't see anything of concern! Our problem is definitely on my husband's side but it was good just to know that things looked ok for me in there!

KTB34 · 02/11/2024 09:40

Morning all

@KT199 yes I’ve had one. That’s how I discovered about my polycystic ovaries! I also have a slightly tilted uterus 🤣

KTB34 · 02/11/2024 11:48

Update from me!

Done a test as advised by the hospital, this is negative 🙌🏽

I can finally start to try and look forward now after the MC. Let’s see if I get a period !

Waitingformiracle · 02/11/2024 11:50

@KTB34 that is good news ❤️ although I'm sure a bit sad to see the negative at the same time, it's a strange feeling after praying for a positive to want to see the negative but I know the feeling. Now you can start to move forward!

KTB34 · 02/11/2024 11:52

@Waitingformiracle it is never thought I’d be so happy to see a negative ! I’m just glad I don’t have to go back to the hospital again 🙂

Now back to restarting TTC! Cycle #9 ! Well 1 in theory lol

Tater05 · 02/11/2024 13:29

@KTB34 good to be moving forward again, back on track! Kind of cycle buddies, I'm also on cycle 9 with polycystic ovaries 😂

I've been thinking about getting a pelvic ultrasound, I had one a few years ago so I might just wait until the year mark and may get referred for one anyway.

KTB34 · 02/11/2024 13:53

@Tater05 I would recommend one if you can. I paid for a private one, she said to me she’d always advise anyone TTC to have a scan. I wasn’t waiting for the NHS! By the time the appointment came through I was already pregnant anyway.

However I’ve been referred again as they won’t ‘accept’ the findings of my private one 🙄

KT199 · 02/11/2024 14:56

@KTB34 hopefully you can start to try move on now, as difficult as the time has been.

@Tater05 I’m booking for one this month, even if all I receive is peace of mind. I just feel like I would rather be ahead of the game.

Wow, my PMS symptoms this month are really intense. I normally don’t get all that many and quite mild. I’ve had one of the worst headaches ever today, even painkillers aren’t helping and my boobs are SO sore I jogged back to the car after leaving a shop and they actually hurt as I ran so I stopped. I did a test this morning at 12DPO and was negative so defo PMS but no idea why they’re so bad!! But AF is due tomorrow so hoping it’ll start to subside a little!!

KTB34 · 02/11/2024 15:02

@KT199 one of my first pregnancy symptoms was sore boobs!

Maybe wait and see tomorrow and wait a couple of days to test if AF doesn’t arrive?

KT199 · 02/11/2024 15:04

I always thought you’d get a positive before AF arrived if it was positive and my BBT dropped this morning, not below cover line but it wasn’t significantly high so no other signs that I could be so really think my hormones must be going a bit wild this month. I had really bad bloating about 7DPO and an upset stomach so maybe my progesterone has been abit high this month!
