Hi all.

As per the title, TTC first baby, I've never had a confirmed pregnancy before. I'm 31, bf is 27.

Been trying to conceive 9 months, but due to PCOS only 6 cycles.

This year I've lost weight, and my cycles since January have varied from 28 days to 38 days. Had PCOS confirmed, and currently waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist to see if I need further assistance. Appointment is taking its sweet time so for now doing it the old fashioned way still with plenty of hope (at least some days, not so much others!!!).

I'm currently on cycle day number 28, negative tests, no signs of a period in sight, CM up to my eyeballs and a whole heap of doubt over when ovulation occured!!

If you are :

TTC #1
A woman who has never been pregnant
Pissing on sticks at an ALARMING rate
Potentially with PCOS but healthy ovaries welcome 😁

Then PLEASE join my thread, so in need of buddies in a similar boat! ⛵

No offence to those TTC #2 or more, genuinley ❤️ just hoping to speak to people who also have no idea what pregnancy would feel like, and who also maybe have the fear they CANNOT ever get pregnant ❤️

I think you can do yes as some tests can tell you a few days before AF is due. I personally waited until my period didn’t arrive when I tested back in August, but sore boobs and bloating were my first two signs alongside the missed period !

Tater05 · 02/11/2024 21:59

@KT199 It could be that you have higher progesterone this month. Since I've been taking my multivitamins and all the vits to increase progesterone I've had really sore boobs during PMS, they even now almost go up a bra size before my period comes 😅

I haven’t taken anything specifically which increases progesterone I don’t think.. I’m taking vit D, C, folic acid, omega 3 and COQ10. But honestly not sure, I’ve been taking them all a few month so I guess they could now be having an effect. I do normally spot 12 DPO and no sign of that today, so unsure if AF is gonna make her appearance tomorrow! It’s the headache which is worst, I literally cannot shift it, maybe I’m getting ill.

KT199 · 05/11/2024 18:03

AF arrived today, so got my pelvic scan booked and now I’m nervous about that.. it’s so annoying that they say stress can affect it too, so I’m trying to block it out but won’t be very successful I don’t think 😂 just scared for bad news!

CharLdn · 08/11/2024 10:00

Very late to the table but @Tater05 my partners also going away for 3 months - I think I’ll make it for one but it’s stressful!! Good luck!!!

CharLdn · 08/11/2024 10:09

@MocktailMe @KT199 @Tater05 @KTB34

hellooo I’m back (apologies if I’ve missed anyone!)

I’ve had a really shite week - started throwing up a few days before my period was due and really got my hopes up.

Got my period :( and was also sick and then we’re in Australia (my husbands Aussie) and I’ve met up with 2 friends this week who have both announced pregnancies.

I then had a massive cry today and my husband basically said I need to stop getting upset every time a friend gets preggo so obviously I’m furious.

it’s just been a royally shite week!!!!!

next week is the sex week but I’m just a bit over it it all seems so unfair.

it’s just such a bloody rollercoaster!!!!!

KTB34 · 09/11/2024 08:24

@CharLdn morning I hope you’re feeling ok today?

I hope everyone is ok today? I’ve had a very busy week…long hours and late nights working. So glad it’s the weekend!

Last few days I’ve had CM, did an OPK and got a positive 😲 hospital did advise I could ovulate after the MC before my next period. Seems my body may be back to normal (ish)

Waitingformiracle · 09/11/2024 09:36

Hi ladies, I've been very quiet over here. Hope you're all doing ok!

@CharLdn I'm so sorry, that must have been so crushing to get excited and have that happen. I totally understand how you feel about all the announcements, I get so upset when it happens here and I find I'm not able to talk to those friends after. It's terrible!

@KTB34 that's great news about your positive OPK, seems things are going back to normal 🤞

I'm getting a HyCoSy this coming week, I'll be on CD12 and lately I've been ovulating on day 12. We are not allowed have sex before hand, and yesterday (CD 6) I randomly took an OPK and it was looking really dark, not positive but darker than it should be at this stage. I'm worried because firstly that's way too early to be ovulating and then secondly because if I ovulate early I'll probably miss this whole cycle. My husband is adamant that it will be worth it in the long run, and at least if I do ovulate early it will be a short cycle. I just plan to keep an eye on the OPKs, they are not looking positive so far which is good but I don't understand why they're so dark.

KTB34 · 09/11/2024 10:16

@Waitingformiracle let us know how it goes! Hopefully not too uncomfortable for you and you can get some answers

KT199 · 09/11/2024 10:20

Hey ladies!

@CharLdn sorry your feeling so low. It’s not easy when your OH doesn’t understand the emotions that come with wanting this so badly that it can even hurt finding out other people are managing to achieve the one thing you can’t 😞

@KTB34 glad it sounds like your cycle is returning quickly!

@Waitingformiracle Fingers crossed your procedure goes okay! I’m in for my pelvic ultrasound on CD12 too. Hopefully ovu holds off for you!

Does any spot for days after AF? I would normally spot maybe one day after, but for this cycle it’s been 3 days of light spotting when wiping.. not enough to require a panty liner ect. I’m feeling so confused and disheartened right now, this morning and last night I’m starting more with CM so it’s mostly mixed in with that and I’ve lost next to nothing in terms of blood but it’s just strange

Waitingformiracle · 09/11/2024 10:21

@KTB34 thank you! I'll update you all after!

Waitingformiracle · 09/11/2024 10:22

@KT199 thank you. Good luck for your pelvic US too! I have had a bit of residual spotting this month after AF which is unusual for me. I think as far as I'm aware that's quite normal, I think spotting before AF can have something to do with progesterone but I don't think spotting after AF is an issue but again I could be wrong!

KTB34 · 09/11/2024 10:31

I used to have spotting all the time in between my ‘fake’ periods 🙄 never even needed a pantyliner, I’ve got bags of pads not being used 🤣

Thank you, I don’t get why I’ve had normal cycles for 12 months since coming off contraception for it now to start throwing curve balls when we’re TTC!

I do spot normally 12DPO when wiping maybe once in the day and AF arrives the day after, I mentioned this to my Dr but apparently they didn’t see an issue as I have a normal length cycle in their eyes. Obviously that’s just a GP so a fertility specialist may have a different opinion, but we haven’t been ttc for 12 months yet so don’t have access to a specialist at the moment.

Hate that I’m just constantly worrying at the moment, as I know that’s also counter productive but can’t switch it off

KT199 · 09/11/2024 10:34

This is directly after my usual period, but it just makes me question if I’m actually ovulating.. I am considering the day 21 PDG blood test this month. I’m such an overthinker and worrier.

Would my pelvic ultrasound on CD12 suggest if I wasn’t ovulating do you know? I know they’ll look at follicles but unsure if they’ll be able to tell, unless I book another scan for post typical ovulation date?

Waitingformiracle · 09/11/2024 10:37

@KT199 The thing is we are just so hyper aware of everything when TTC. I easily could have had spotting before TTC and I wouldn't have thought twice about it. I didn't think much about my periods before other than wanting to make sure I had tampons on me when it arrived 🤣 whereas now I focus on every little thing

Such a valid point tbh, you’re probably right!! It could have always happened and I never paid attention. Well, I’m off to the gym get my mind off of the internet convincing myself I’m completely infertile and hopefully produce some endorphins 🤣🤣🤞 Have a lovely weekend! And thank you for settling my mind a little!

CharLdn · 11/11/2024 04:59

Thanks guys I know you’d all understand. I think I needed the BIG cry tbh. I’ve since found out my TTC buddy is now pregnant a friend who I’ve been talking to a lot who is also trying.

Even with that news I feel OK this week it’s just such a rollercoaster!!!!!

So hopefully via osmosis I’ll join the club soon. I was ‘always the bridesmaid’ for ages before I got married so maybe I’ll be the same with all my fertile friends!

my husbands Australian so maybe being on ‘home turf’ will make all the difference for his 🐟

@KTB34 good news re opk hopefully body’s recovering sending big hugs.

@KT199 opks are a minefield I’ve been using Mira which actually gives a number as well as temperature and discharge.

expensive but takes the guess work out of it. Although I’ve been tracking on Mira for 3 cycles and despite having sex at the right time we’re still not preggo so who knows!

I’m not tracking this month as we’re on holiday so hopefully having lots of sex anyway and I’d rather just try everyday/every other day rather than obsessing over numbers. My temp change and discharge correlate with Mira anyway so I’ve worked out day 14 is normally it.

I completely get being hyper aware over things my period spots a bit after but nothing major.

@KT199 im finding the only thing keeping me relatively sane is the gym I’ve decided if I’m not going to be preggo I’m working on a hot bod 😅

sending solidarity to you all!!!

MocktailMe · 11/11/2024 09:39

Hello ladies sorry for being so totally MIA for a couple of weeks.

@CharLdn I really feel for you - it sounds so hard at the moment when all your friends keep falling before you! Hopefully this Australian sunshine will get you in a good headspace and you'll be able to enjoy the trip.

@Waitingformiracle very best of luck for the hycosy! I feel your stress on the impacting of your chances - if you have ovulated beforehand it will mean this month is a no-go however I am in agreement with your husband - long term it is absolutely worth missing a month!

@KT199 sorry you've still had no luck, fingers crossed for this cycle!

@Tater05 how are things? Whereabouts are you now in the cycle?

@KTB34 sounds like you have really been through the ringer but I am so relieved you're able to try again! And hopefully won't take long to see those tests positive again.

As for me, it's CD16 and I haven't done any testing or tracking this month. However, from the copious amounts of EWCM the last couple of days I'm pretty sure I am ovulating, or just have finished doing so.

We have had sex during this potentially fertile period, so I guess if I'm correct with my suspicions then I'm in with a chance. However, I've made a conscious decision not to test with OPK this month. The pain and disappointment last month was just too hard, and I need a month that's less intense after that.

@KT199 the gym has been a real godsend for me for taking my mind off things, I hope it helped you a little!

@CharLdn I hear you about the Mira, I'm on month 6 of using it and while it's great I certainly didn't think I'd be using it for this long when I made the investment 😩

@MocktailMe sounds lovely to be taking a break from tracking, going by your CM is a perfect way to do it. Yes I agree on the HyCoSy, soo frustrating if I have to miss a month but I suppose worth it in the long run. It's on Thursday and I still haven't had a positive OPK so I am hoping I could still be in with a chance 🤞

KT199 · 11/11/2024 09:55

Morning ladies 😊

@CharLdn you will get your BFP sometime soon for sure🤞

I’m trying to be a little more relaxed with testing this month too, thinking of dropping the BBT and OPK’s and just DTD every other day.. I was tempted to try find peak so that we could follow the SMEP but I get too caught up in it so maybe a month off will do me good as I’m already worrying about the pelvic ultrasound!

@Waitingformiracle the gym definitely helps, it just seems to flush out all my negativity and clear my head!!

@MocktailMe thank you, hoping the same for you!

MocktailMe · 11/11/2024 09:57

@Waitingformiracle if you've not got a positive by now you're in with a decent change. Regardless, I'm planning to have a try the evening of the procedure, using home insemination due to the fact I'm expecting to be sore! You could do the same, and then if you do ovulate just after having it done you'll be in with a great chance.

OP posts:
Waitingformiracle · 11/11/2024 10:04

@MocktailMe that is a really good idea!! I have a work event the evening of the procedure, but I'm genuinely considering running home for a quicky before hand just in case 🤣🤣

MocktailMe · 11/11/2024 10:32

@Waitingformiracle go for it 😅

I'm impressed you're planning a work event, I've already advised work I'll need the whole day (and night) off as I'm afraid of the pain afterwards. I do have an active job though - no sitting down.

Im expecting similar to when I had a coil fitted - I was in terrible pain for two days after that, but I may find it's nothing like that at all!

OP posts:
Waitingformiracle · 11/11/2024 10:34

@MocktailMe I know it's falling on a very bad day, I hope I'll be ok for it! It's an important event so I feel like I have to go but I can always pull out if I'm not well. I have never had a coil or anything done so don't really know what to expect!
