I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@Marie1990x haha I'm the same as you! Hopefully it won't be long 🙌

{mention:RRAEE}@SaltoMortale thanks ladies, hopefully works out 🙏

Marie1990x · 24/01/2025 17:10

@Daniki after my non stop refreshing nhs app, they came through today 😂.

Came back that I’m anemic. Most likely iron and vit b23 related, which apparently can mess with fertility too! So something new to contend with now 😩. Have more bloods booked in to confirm. I’d love if I had just one test come back normal 😅

PeachPombear · 25/01/2025 21:45

@Marie1990x nothing yet. I felt like after the miscarriage at 18 weeks and all testing from that coming back to say it should have continued on as a normal pregnancy the hospital just told me to try again. I didn’t feel worried but now I’m just concerned we haven’t consistently been trying every month but would had thought something would have happened by now

Marie1990x · 03/02/2025 20:54

Hope today went well @Daniki 🤞🏻 x

Also this was definitely meant to say b12 not b23 😂

Daniki · 03/02/2025 20:58

@Marie1990x haha I thought as much don't worry! Any update with you? Transfer went well thankfully, so now to try hold out on testing but I know I'll give in by Friday 😂

Marie1990x · 03/02/2025 21:04

@Daniki aw good! When would official test day be? Got everything crossed works out for you. Of course keep us updated! Haha I’d definitely be testing from Friday too if I was in your shoes 😂. There’s no helping some of us is there.

Nothing much new from my end. Had my repeat bloods and came back with anemia which was expected, not drastically but definitely there. They just said to take supplements then will check again to see if they help, if not then I’ll have the injections.

Got my peak yesterday (and today 🤔), so guessing ovulation is either today or tomorrow, given it a good go this time but still not expecting anything to come from it 😂

Daniki · 03/02/2025 21:34

@Marie1990x god it's so disheartening too isn't it 🫣 I'm actually low on iron too I'm taking spatone for that atm but no idea if it's working or not 😂 iv my beta blood test on 14th, but I'll defo test this week I think I'm too much of an addict not too 😂

Marie1990x · 03/02/2025 21:45

@Daniki i think it’s pretty common iron deficiency isn’t it. The doctor said it’s not worryingly low, but because I’m having fertility issues as it is then to keep an eye on it. I was told I had it when I was pregnant with DD, but they put it down as pregnancy related.

Hahaha yeah well why not test early! I think all rationality goes out of the window in the tww so go for it 😊. I shouldn’t be advocating early testing but I’m exactly the same 😂.

I’ve got unusually strong cramps which I’m stupidly clinging onto hoping it’s a good month 😅

RRAEE · 03/02/2025 21:49

@Daniki glad it went well !

@Marie1990x hopefully your low iron improves soon

And I'm out AF just started but looks like my periods have gone really irregular again so this just got even harder.

Daniki · 03/02/2025 22:32

@Marie1990x all sounding good so fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 really hoping 2025 is good to us all!

@RRAEE ah no that's shit 😭, are you taking any new meds or vitamins? Often see people on here say prenatals feck up their cycle!

Marie1990x · 03/02/2025 22:37

@RRAEE oh no I’m sorry AF has arrived. That’s so frustrating about your cycles too. Do they differ quite a lot?

@Daniki time will tell! Fingers crossed 🥰

RRAEE · 03/02/2025 23:00

@Daniki @Marie1990x i haven't been taking anything for a while as it wasn't doing anything so took a break. Im Usually between 30-35 days whether i take anything or don't but last year i completely skipped a period and then ive had a few 40+ days, like im CD 42 today. Its just annoying having PCOS.

We are gunna keep trying but just getting harder to know when i actually ovulate now as periods are all over the place and the LH tests dont work for me.

Marie1990x · 04/02/2025 07:29

@RRAEE thats so frustrating for you, sorry you’re having to deal with that. Surely the doctors will give you somethings, have you got any further with them?

The LH tests seem to work for me even with PCOS (obviously haven’t got pregnant but they go up and down around the right time), do they just give you constant high readings?

Clara202 · 04/02/2025 07:59

@Daniki sorry to jump in, but would you mind DM’ing me the name of the clinic you’re with please?

whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/02/2025 10:37

Hi everyone,

Can I join? We have been TTC #2 for over 2 years. Last summer I had an ectopic with a tube removed. Nothing since.

I had a Hycosy last year that showed my remaining tube is open but at 38 I'm not feeling very positive about my situation.

Hi of course 😊.

I’m also ttc #2 after 2+ years. Really sorry to hear about your eptopic.

Have they offered you any more tests?

I’m waiting for my HyCosy, how did you find it? Did you have it through the NHS or private? I’m on the waitlist with NHS, but contemplating just going private as my patience is wearing thin 😂

One hour after I sent this I got my hycosy appointment through 😂

Daniki · 04/02/2025 16:26

@Marie1990x nice! When is it? 🥰 they say it can make extra fertile after as it flushes the tubes!

whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/02/2025 17:00

@Marie1990x

That's good about your appointment.

I had mine via NHS. I had fertility issues before #1 and had a Hycosy then which showed one tube may be blocked. That wasn't flagged as an issue until the ectopic was in my 'good' tube. It was very stressful as I thought my remaining tube may be blocked. But thankfully my recent Hycosy showed my remaining tube was open 🎉

It's been 4 months since my Hycosy but nothing has happened since.

I feel like I'm losing hope. How long do you keep going before giving up?! I feel a bit defeated after over 2 years of disappointment

Marie1990x · 04/02/2025 17:20

@Daniki its not until April, apparently that’s the closest one, but at least it’s booked in.

@whatdoyouthink123456 honestly I ask myself this every cycle. There’s only so much disappointed you can take. I was in the mindset of giving up at the end of last year, but my consultant was super supportive so spurred me on a bit.

Can’t believe they didn’t flag a blocked tube as an issue?? Surely! I can only imagine the stress of it all. Are you still under a fertility consultant? Have they given you a plan moving forward? They’re putting me on letrozole but said that’s only if my tubes are clear

whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/02/2025 18:55

@Marie1990x

I'm not seeing anyone about fertility atm. We were thinking of seeing someone before as nothing was happening then I got pregnant with the ectopic. I actually had a pregnancy of unknown location for nearly a month, then surgery found the ectopic and I had the tube removed. I had to wait nearly 5 months after surgery to have the Hycosy.

I only found out it wasn't blocked in September. I think we'l try a few month months before seeing someone.

Are you going through the nhs? I wasn't sure if we'd get any help as we already have a 3 year old

Ah I see. Thankfully you know the tube isn’t blocked though, at least you have that sense of security.

yeah I’m going through NHS. I was really surprised they’re doing anything as I also have a 3yo. They said they’d do tests and give medication but obviously not IVF or anything like that. I think it’s very much a postcode lottery and I got lucky, which is absolutely ridiculous that it isn’t the same in every trust!

whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/02/2025 20:37

@Marie1990x

That's great that the nhs will do tests etc.
where do you live roughly?

I live south west London but I'm not sure if I would get any help.

I'm trying to lose weight atm as my BMI is just over 30, which I don't think is helping. I think if I lose a stone, il be under.

Did you just go to your GP?

I'm struggling to know what do for best. Should I just be happy and grateful for my son (it was a long journey and a new partner to conceive him)

Would you consider paying for IVF?
