I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Had my scan, seen a heartbeat 💓 but am measuring a few days behind so hoping not a cause for concern. She was a bit rough with the internal probe and the cover thing they put on it snapped off when it was in me so I'm on high alert now. Went to toilet and had a tiny bit of spotting 😩

Awww amazing so glad you got the saw the little heartbeat 🥹🥹. I wouldn’t worry about the days thing, I had an early scan with my daughter and she measured about a week behind but by the time 12w scan came alone she was spot on. Do you have another booked?
Ouch sounds painful!!! Omg did they say anything??

Daniki · 11/10/2024 18:33

@Marie1990x that's actually made me feel so much better! I have one on Tuesday 😂 it's the official one with the ivf clinic and todays was the EPU in the maternity hosp il be going to. So will keep Tuesdays one. Today they said they will take me back in 2
Weeks if I want but my husband can't understand why I keep wanting to put myself through it 😂

Haha I think if you’re anxious about it deffos go for your next one in 2 weeks. Even if you’re not it’ll be nice to see baby again! I don’t think men completely understand do they. I’m sure they don’t troll through mumsnet and see what we do 😂.

Will you find out what you’re having? So excited for you 🥰

CD60!!! Wow! Bet it’s a relief to have it finally though. Did your doctors suggest anything from your appt?

AF arrived for me this morning too

RRAEE · 18/10/2024 11:08

Nope basically told to wait till they see me at fertility clinic. ☹️

Daniki · 18/10/2024 13:24

@RRAEE Jesus cd60! 😩 but at least it's came now and it's like a "fresh start" so to speak. How are you getting on @Marie1990x any word on starting clomid?

So I had another scan on Tuesday with IVF clinic and it's reassured me definitely, still measuring behind but it had grown as expected in the 4 days and was measuring 6+4 then. Strong heartbeat so fingers crossed all ok. Nausea has ramped up for me too. Have a rescan on the 30th to check progress and pray heartbeat is still there 💓

RRAEE · 18/10/2024 13:25

@Daniki sounds like its progressing nicely tho. Good luck 🤞🏻 🙂

Marie1990x · 18/10/2024 18:27

@Daniki ahhh lovely news! Sounds like it’s all heading in the right direction 😊. Nausea is a pain but at least it’s a promising sign of baby growing in you 🥰.

Well I’ve got my referral appointment through for November, so looks like they’ve not approved it straight away. Can’t believe how quickly the appointment has come through though!

I’ve decided I’m going to give it to the end of the year and if nothing then call it a day. I’ve started feeling guilty when looking at DD thinking how much it’s consumed me.

@RRAEE ffs that’s such a pain! Have you heard anything from your referral yet?

Daniki · 18/10/2024 18:31

@Marie1990x yea I know how you feel I actually feel the same with my son, he's not getting my all and my think my mental health is suffering with it all too 🙈

RRAEE · 18/10/2024 18:40

@Marie1990x nothing since the wait list letter i had. And i asked the docs for clomid and they said only the fertility people could prescribe it and i had to wait. 😪

RRAEE · 24/12/2024 08:37

Hey guys hope everyone is doing well ! Im ending this year with AF, which just showed. Still no luck for me this year ☹️

Wishing everyone a merry christmas and happy holidays 🎄

Crazyfarmgirl · 24/12/2024 09:14

I've been off contraceptive (not preventing but also not actively trying) since Jan 2023. But have been actively trying for 3 months. I've had two peaks 3 weeks apart this month so even though I've been testing, I still have no idea when I've ovulated. I was diagnosed with having a blocked tube a few years ago. Recent scans have come back normal so just waiting for a blood test now. I had assumed I ovulated on the 8th, but now I'm wondering if it was actually the 19th, hence me hcg testing too early

Oh @RRAEE I'm sorry. How long have you been trying now? I think (but have lost count) i am at 14 cycles. Just heard back from the fertility clinic and have my appointments booked for Feb so trying to remain positive that 2025 will bring better news.

Hi @Crazyfarmgirl how long are your cycles usually? LH peaks 10 days apart could be a sign PCOS. Or could be pregnancy. Have you tested for that if you believe you ovulated 14 days ago.

According to Flo my cycles range from 17-39 days. Currently cd33. Scans came back negative for PCOS, but being looked into for underactive thyroid. Definitely not pregnant either

RRAEE · 24/12/2024 14:09

@CoolSummer89 17 - 18 months now. Fertility clinic havent been any help yet. The dr only cared about my weight which ive been losing anyway but with PCOS its so hard and he didnt care. Just told i need to be x amount of weight until i get help, So not much hope from them.

Pretty much at the point where im going to give up because my hearts so broken now. So fed up of the same disappointment every single month and no matter what i do nothing changes.

Sorry for the downer reply.

Marie1990x · 24/12/2024 16:50

Has anyone experienced brown spotting just before ovulation?
I had it last month around the same time and thought nothing of it as I’d never noticed before. But I’ve just had it again today, I’m CD11 and due to ovulate in around 5 days time

Daniki · 24/12/2024 20:06

@RRAEE happy Christmas and sorry the year has ended like this. I'm extremely emotional today to be back in this situation and just can't see any change for the future. Anywho will do the old wives tale of wrapping a baby blanket under the tree tonight and try and enjoy Christmas with my
Family. ❤️

RRAEE · 24/12/2024 20:11

Sending love ❤️

And i might do the same tonight actually. 🎄

You have nothing to apologise for! It's super tough at this time of the year for many reasons, but especially looking back and not feeling like you have 'achieved' a wish/goal.

I'm only feeling positive because I got my appointment yesterday after waiting for so long, perhaps I am being naive.

I'm sorry about the doctor's attitude. Technically they are right that being overweight can affect hormones/fertility, but as you say PCOS is a vicious circle that makes it impossible to lose weight. The NHS are particularly bad at not looking past BMI I find. Do see if you can be seen by someone else, there are more sympathetic doctors out there!

Confusedddddddd · 25/12/2024 09:44

Sorry to hear your sad news @RRAEE and @Daniki.

We just went through our first IVF cycle and BFN. Despite 100% fertilisation our blastocysts were slow to grow so we transferred a 2BB and 2CC with nothing to freeze. We have our debrief consultation on Friday but it's looking like it's poor egg quality. We'll probably do another cycle and if no improvement will start considering egg donors.
It's frustrating, we've spent the last 18 months thinking the issue was mechanical after a ruptured ectopic but now it's looking like I'm just too old.

Daniki · 25/12/2024 09:54

@Confusedddddddd ah I’m sorry to hear that it’s incredibly tough after going through all that. I miscarried at 8 weeks after our first FET. Have you any embryos left? If you need to do another collection I highly recommend supplementing with NMN Capsules and coQ10 xx

Confusedddddddd · 25/12/2024 10:05

Oh god 8 weeks? That's awful.

No, no embryos, some were still growing at day 6 but they said they didn't have enough cells to freeze.
I'm already taking CoQ10 but only 300mg. I've read great things about NMN, did you find it made a difference? It's one of the things I've been thinking of adding, especially since I've decided to stop acupuncture as it made no difference.

CoolSummer89 · 25/12/2024 10:08

Oh @Confusedddddddd I am so sorry that is devastating. Will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for next transfer and just a general happy and healthy 2025 ❤️
