TTC for those taking longer than average ✨

I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

@Marie1990x sent that too early 😂 but yes a great positive! Get down to business tonight 😂 doing good, got my beta results from Tuesday back today 1615 and they were 243 last wed so hope that's a good increase 🤞🏻 have a scan next fri the 11th x

I still have no AF 🤷🏻‍♀️ feeling wet more than normal today, sorry tmi. Haven't done another test yet as everything says wait a few days and try again, not hopeful tho.

Yep will be covering tonight and tomorrow, annoyed at myself we didn’t last night now but never mind. Told DH I haven’t had that in a long time and now he’s complaining it’s too much pressure 😂.
I am getting a lot more cm than normal too so hopefully that’s a good sign.

@RRAEE thats so so strange. Have you continued taking OPK’s (if you did, I can’t remember if you said you used them or not)? Maybe you’re ovulating again?? Bodies are minefields

@Marie1990x no i gave up with them as they were so inconsistent for me. But im gunna do one with a HGC one to see cuz i have no idea whats happening anymore 😅 i will try and call the doctors Tomorrow and see what they advise

@Marie1990x I am, but still so anxious it's horrible! Can't get out of my own head, just hard to believe it's real 🙈 haha my husband would get like that, I was like it's the only thing you have to do 😂🥹

Ffs 😂 i have no idea what is going on anymore 😂 im laughing else ill cry. So after the test i assumed was a false positive after having like 8 negatives after i got a real faint line on the test i did earlier but as its faint only just visible hard to really tell if its an evap but going on the negative test they never got any evaps 🤷🏻‍♀️ i did 2 LH ones that are positive so im a stumped now 😂 im either both ovulating and pregnant or just one or the other 😂 i dunno what the hell is happening anymore im loosing my sanity.

Omg @RRAEE! What the hell is going on! Please try and get your bloods done, it's the only real way to get your answer by the looks of it! 🙈

@Daniki i know i have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️ im going to try and call this morning and hope i get through before i have to leave for work.

@RRAEE oh my god what a head f**k! I’m really hoping it’s a BFP for you! Did you manage to get through to the doctors?

@Daniki oh bless you, it’s such a rollercoaster of emotions even once you get that BFP isn’t it! Hopefully after your scan you’ll be able to relax a bit 😊.

It’s so annoying that they feel pressured, literally not half of what we feel 😂.

We did dtd last night and hopefully the next 2. I just did another opk now and it’s still peak but nowhere near as strong as yesterday’s, so assuming I’m ovulating today or tomorrow. I’m getting tiny cramps on my right side (which is the side they said has the dominant follicle), so hopefully it’s not just in my head and I have a chance 😄

@Marie1990x i couldnt get through so will try again on Monday but the confusion continues.

Had that first test which looked positive as was faint but had colour and then all negatives and then i got another faint positive but im ruling that as evap as hard to tell and i had positive LH tests in the same wee, then had more negatives And now ive done another today got a clearer line but done 3 other tests in the same wee and they came back negative 😂 so deffo gunna hope i get through on monday as im 17 days late.

Ill attach the ones that i got. To see what people think but i cant take it as anything yet as im throwing negatives as well 🤷🏻‍♀️ even digital is coming back negative.

Ref: So the three pink are the test that have shown lines and the bunch of different test are what i did this morning in the same wee.

@RRAEE what the hell!!! That’s SO confusing. Please please please try get through to your GP. Can you make a request on the app? The pink ones definitely look positive to me, but if the others are negative that’s just so mind boggling! Are the pink ones all the same brand/box? I bet your head is all over the place.

I had my doctors appt yesterday. He’s referred me to fertility but said he wants to prescribe clomid but needs their “permission”. Said he’s hoping they will come back and approve it so he can do it, which could be a week or two, but if they want to see me it could be up to 6 months wait time.

I’m going to give it until af is next due and if I haven’t heard anything I will ask him to refer me as self funded which would hopefully be quicker

@Marie1990x same brand, 2 same box one a diff box. But its so confusing. Imma gunna ask to go out on my lunch so can make a private call as they queues in the morning on the phone are so long i dont have enough time to wait as have to be in work and cant have my phone. So its really difficult.

And hopefully they give you your clomid and yeah im on the fertility wait last and was told the same time frame its ridiculous. Hopefully things get moving for you sooner rather than later.

@RRAEE they definitely look positive though don’t they! Especially since they got darker as well. Have you tried the boots early ones? They’re supposed to be really good. Yeah definitely try your doctors at lunch, I always find it much easier to get through later in the day.

The wait is so frustrating isn’t it. I’ve been looking up my trusts fertility referrals and they offer self funding as well as NHS, so I’m hoping if I go there then they’ll just take my bloods and scans from the docs and just have to pay for consultations and medication (probably not the case but I can wish 😂)

@Marie1990x its so irritating cuz im not sure which to take as correct so i dont wanna let my self believe its positive. I know false negatives are more common but it doesnt make any sense with the amount of negatives ive had in-between and from the same wee.

I thought the digital would make it clearer 😅

Hopefully they let you carry it over as no point really paying to get everything redone when its just been done. Really hoping you get some where soon with it. Ive started putting funds away just incase i have to do the same. Dont wanna wait forever.

@RRAEE Could you not call your local EPU unit? It’s so rare to get false positives but it is definitely confusing, I really feel for you.

EPU can do bloods and even a scan - if you’re having positives you can only take that as you are pregnant? EPU should be able to see you but just check their opening times as my local one is only open 8-6pm xx

@SWeal thank you for the advice i didnt even know that was an option. Its annoying because im getting more negatives than anything and i have zero symptoms other being 17 days late and odd light cramping.

I cant let my self be happy incase its just dodgy tests. Ill have to look at the times for EPU in my area.

@RRAEE that’s such good advice from @SWeal i didn’t think about that! Definitely worth a shot. Especially since they’re from different batches. Really hoping you get some answers and they’re what you want!

yeah I’ve sent an enquiry form with all my info so hopefully get a response and know what to expect. If it’s just the consultation and medication costs then from what I’ve seen I’m happy to do so, just reluctant to pay for the scans etc since they’ve already been done and going to the same place

And yes great advice. Ive looked at hours and they are limited tomorrow but hopefully get to speak to someone. 🤞🏻

@RRAEE oh my god! How frustrating is that, that is such a strong line on that pink test too!! I agree re ringing the EPU and see can they get you in, false positives are actually rare so something is going on!!

@RRAEE You’ll get an immediate answer by going to EPU, and they should be open today as they’re normally 7 days a week. I really hope you can get in today to get some answers, I can’t imagine how frustrating it is. Praying it’s the outcome we’re all hoping for you 🤍

I’m getting there, feeling better physically but it’s going to take a while mentally. After TTC for a whole year to then believe I was pregnant for 2 weeks - to then not be - has really messed with my head. Let alone almost dying and needing emergency surgery - it’s all a lot to process but i’m taking it one day at a time xx

@Marie1990x Thank you 💕 I’m taking it easy. Im not even sure when will be the right time to start trying again, they said to wait 2 cycles and although i’m petrified now (was already extremely anxious due to losing my first little boy) - all can think about all day is trying again 😓
