TTC for those taking longer than average ✨

I just wanted to start a thread for those who’ve been trying for a little while (or a long while) and it doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s great seeing all the positives on the TTC threads but I’m starting to find it a little disheartening as it seems to be happening quickly for almost everyone but me! Statistics seem to vary but suggest between 60-70% of couples get pregnant within three months. We’ll be heading into cycle 5 shortly TTC our first, both in our early 30s.

Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Sorry notis have been coming up again.

I missed the times on the EPU as they were wrong online for my local one but have managed to get in with the doctors today and they are giving me a blood test. So will just have to wait now until the test comes back.

If negative they said id just have to wait until my period comes as they wont start it unless i have any issues. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@RRAEE thankfully you're getting bloods done! I'd still try and get on to EPU or get your doc to refer you just so they can scan and have a peak at what's going on! Your head must be up your hole at this point 🙈

@SWeal it's such a hard time, take all the time to grieve your loss. It's so unfair and always what bothered me the most was how some people could get pregnant so easily and didn't care and people who would love nothing more struggling so badly. 😩

@RRAEE ahhh that’s great you can get your bloods done today. When I’ve had blood tests they’re usually available super quickly on the app! Just looked back at mine and they’ve all been available the day after, so hopefully you won’t have long to wait.
What is it they can’t start until AF has arrived?

@Marie1990x something like that. I asked her can i have something if im not pregnant and she said i just have to wait 🤷🏻‍♀️ so god knows.

@Daniki I know, I feel the same. I don’t really know anyone else personally that has been through what i’ve been through - people just seem to fall pregnant so easily and have no problems. I’m happy for them but just so sad for me.

@RRAEE maybe they’re also thinking it’s so rare to have a false positive and hopefully get it confirmed before follow up plans. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Marie1990x i had 3 positives and loads of negatives so rare to have 3 false positives that or the tests were all faulty but either way hoping for an actual answer now.

@RRAEE honestly it’s just so baffling isn’t it! Hopefully you get the answers asap though and then can get a plan in place. Have you taken any more hcg tests?

Just logged into my nhs app and looks like my referral has gone through. Guessing I should have heard from them by 2nd dec? Will be a long 8 weeks and an even longer few months wait for the actual appointment 😂. At least I know they’re on with it. Still hoping they approve the clomid via GP in the review! 🤞🏻

Well they were cruel false positives hgc came back as <2. So im not pregnant 😕

What an awful awful evap/false positive! So cruel 😔. Did they mention next steps at all? Or still insistent to wait until AF arrives?

I have a phone call on Friday for something else but i guess ill find out 100% then as its been noted that shell speak to me about it too but in my notes i can see say that I'm not pregnant but theres something with my progesterone 🤷🏻‍♀️

And no only ever been a few days late before but fairly regular at about 31 days

Still no AF either and im like CD52 now 😅

I know i have PCOS but never this bad and deffo never ever had a second line before ever

Only thing that messed up my cycle before was macca root but that was like 8 days not over 20 and that was ages ago but literally not taking anything anymore either

@RRAEE hopefully she’ll talk through it in some kind of depth on Friday then.
Maybe it will give them the push to prescribe you something for your PCOS?

I had my letter saying im on the wait list and its going to be longer than normal and was already told 6 mnths plus so could be a year at this point.

@RRAEE omg how annoying!!! Yeah definitely be blunt and to the point with her, hopefully you’ll get somewhere.

I got a notification today saying I’ve been put on the waitlist, but it’s still under review. Hoping there’s still a slim chance once it’s reviewed I don’t need a face to face appt

Nothing new to report here. 7/8dpo and obvs caved and tested bfn 😂. I went for my progesterone bloods yesterday so waiting for the results, hopefully it will tell me if I ovulated or not. I’ve never had this so not sure what to expect. Refreshing my app like a crazy woman, but nothing on yet

@Marie1990x have my scan today! Very very nervous. Lying in bed at the min as have a very bad migraine 🤢

Also @Daniki what was your process for going private btw if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ve emailed a few private clinics, but don’t even know where to start other than that. Tried briefly explaining my situation, but probably done it wrong 😂. Also a lot of them seem to solely focus on IVF and I’m not sure we’d do that

@Marie1990x thank you! 🙏 so I done the same really emailed a few clinics after my second miscarriage, but ended up booking in to see the doctor that ran the recurrent miscarriage clinic but in her private clinic as I didn't fit the criteria for public. She got the ball rolling with the tests etc and she started me on letrozole. But when all that still wasn't working she referred me to a colleague for monitored cycles. They weren't working so we just took the plunge and booked in to an IVF clinic as I didn't want to waste time or money doing IUI if IVF was going to be the end goal anyway! I'm in Ireland so things might be a bit different. But the thought of waiting months private was too much, I just feel such pressure at this age, il he 36 next month!

I was going to get in touch with the clinic my doctor has referred me to, but I’m holding off contacting them in case they can still just approve him to prescribe me medication (I guess this is why he randomly booked me in for progesterone after my referral as he hadn’t mentioned it before).
This is it! I’m 35 soon so think I’m feeling all the pressure now and need to get cracking if I want to stand a decent chance.

@Marie1990x yea that's how I felt, you just have to advocate for yourself at this point as we're all just a number in the system! Hope you get sorted soon as it's all such a headfuck 😩
