Anyone want to join? I'm going insane!! I'm not sure whether it's because it will be our last chance to have a baby in 2024 or that this is our 5th cycle so if AF comes it then marks half a year of trying, but I'm struggling this cycle. Need distraction! Lol

I’m a day behind (2dpo today) but I’ll join! Any 2WW distraction welcome hahaha.

We are only cycle 3. First cycle got a BFP but lost at 5wks (chemical) 😔. Cycle after no success which was hard after reading so many women falling again the cycle after a loss.

Then this cycle! Started OPKs last cycle following the chemical. But don’t temp. Prior to that just monitored CM. This month I had none. I swear as soon as we start TTC everything goes flipping haywire.

5 months is still early - I know it doesn’t seem it and I share your feelings. For me it’s the anxiety around will it ever happen again and how long will it take. I’m an absolute control freak in all things but this is completely out of my hands. Focusing on what I do have control over which is DTD at the right time, taking vits and trying to be less stressed. It’s hard to stay positive but most people take 9-12 months I read.

Here’s to 2WW craziness 🥂

MissEmily5 · 05/04/2024 16:51

Hi ladies,
I’m apparently 2dpo, although I’m not sure as I didn’t get a static this month, just flashing smileys (which i’m still getting- but I wasn’t able to test twice a day so I’m hoping I’ve just missed the peak in testing and that I did actually ovulate!!)
I’m on cycle 8 of TTC baby 1! But I’ve always been consumed by it all- it’s made worst now as I’ve found out from tests I have a thinner than expected endometrial lining and my husband had a low sperm count but it’s not impossible for us to get caught pregnant naturally but could take us longer 😔
It’s definitely all consuming and the worry that this might not happen for us or that it could take a reallyyyy long time. I find I flit between hopeful and hopeless quite often which is exhausting.
Heres hoping that this month is the month for us all! I’m definitely feeling it this month as we always thought this would be the year that we finally would be able to have/get our long dreamt of baby 👶❤️

Welcome!! So sorry about your chemical. Is this your first baby? I don't temp either. I did with my first but my daughter wakes me up in the night now I'm not sure if it would be effective 😂

I totally agree. It's like you lose all sense of reality and self control!! If it doesn't happen this month I hope I'll relax a bit more. Because I have been in a countdown each month to have a 2024 baby, but if it rolls into 2025 there's almost less pressure as you have 12 chances

Welcome! Did you have other signs of ovulation? Because I had a circle with nothing in at 11am on Monday and a static smiley by 9pm that evening so maybe you missed it? Sorry your tests weren't as you'd hoped but there's definitely hope for it happening! Did they give any suggestions for ways to increase your chances?

Really hoping we get lots of bfps on this thread and get our Christmas miracles 🫶🏼

@Ontheflipside_ Thank you!☺️ On one of the evenings which I had already tested a few of hours before, I went to bed I felt my usual ovulation pains (the past 2 cycles I have been able to pinpoint my peak by these pains) but because I had already tested that evening I just thought I’d leave it till the morning and maybe then I’d catch my peak but just flashing smiley face again.

We had repeat tests and there was an improvement (not what it should be but an improvement) within just 2 weeks (which is super quick) the only thing that was different that my husband has cut down on caffeine and we were continuing with our fertility smart supplements! Not sure why there was a change though and if anything could make something change so quickly! But there is hope and we’ve just got to keep plugging along and trying to keep spirts up.

Gosh I really hope so! Wouldn’t that be wonderful- are you ladies trying for baby number 1?

Hopethisendswell · 05/04/2024 20:57

Please can I join?
Not TTC but got carried away (I'm old enough to know better) and now wondering if we'll have a (much loved) surprise on our hands this year 😳3 dpo based on CM and usual cramps, but was supposed to be ovulating yesterday according to app, so who knows! Last 2 pregnancies were miscarriage and CP, so I'm not expecting it to work out, but I'm surprisingly happy about the idea of another LO even though we have teens!

I really hope all your tests work out and you get the results you hope for this month. I remember TTC our first and the roller coaster it was xxx

MissEmily5 · 05/04/2024 21:47

@ToeBeans24 very sorry about your loss- I can’t imagine how heartbreaking it is. 💛

@Hopethisendswell hello, welcome! How are you feeling about it all? Sorry to hear about your losses💔
thank you, it would be lovely to put an end to this TTC journey and have a lovely little baby at the end of it all- I never thought it would be easy but I didn’t think it would be this hard either. I guess you really can’t predict how this sort of thing will turn out can you!

Hopethisendswell · 05/04/2024 22:05

Thank you 🤗 It's really hard TTC, I really struggled with our first and it took 18 months (just as the doctors were thinking about tests), I honestly thought I was going crazy. You are all doing amazingly, keep going, you will get there. I found taking time each week to do something just for us/ me that wasn't DTD helped my sanity - even if it was sitting outside with a hot drink in the morning sunshine. Sending you all hugs.
We're both feeling happily resigned to it happening, rather than blind panic. Dawned on us that everyone stopped asking us if we're having children years ago, so telling people would be interesting! As you can see I'm already getting carried away...it's so unlikely due to my age and history that it will happen. I'd forgotten how stressful the TWW was and it's only been three days 😆

That's great you've already seen an improvement! Every little counts I think!

This is no.2 for me. My DD is 2.5

Welcome! So sorry about your losses, that must be so hard.

It's amazing that you don't realise how much you want something until you're presented with the idea of it!

The tww is just such a mental battle isn't it!! I'm taking a different approach this month. Doing much more walking and pilates instead of weights and running and also trying to stay really warm all the time. Otherwise, I'm taking my vitamins, limiting my caffeine but carrying on as normal. Glass of wine last night, rare steak etc.

Hope the days pass quickly for us all! I'm due on 15th and really trying to hold off testing until 14th...

That's a good way to do things, nice and relaxed...I need to take a page out of your book!
I'm due around 17th, but will probably test next Saturday because I'm already going a little crazy waiting.

Hope everyone is enjoying the slightly warmer day to day xx

ToeBeans24 · 06/04/2024 19:18

Thanks for all the kind words. We are trying for baby no1. I’m due on the 17/18th but will probably test Friday at 9dpo as going out for drinks. It’ll likely be too early but there’s hope!

ToeBeans24 · 06/04/2024 20:19

Ladies random Q but has anyone experienced EWCM at 3dpo?! I didn’t have much when I got my positive opk 3 days ago (static smiley). Then today at supposedly 3dpo I’ve just had loads.

Is it normal to get it after ov? Could my body not have ovulated 3 days ago and now it’s trying to again?

Cant retest on OPK as the clear blue one just does a blank circle on the first test so would be a waste.

DTD last night and may try again tonight just in case it’s a later ov than originally thought ?!

Not had this but have had lots of watery/clear cm since ovulating!

OP posts:
sirensong · 06/04/2024 20:42

@ToeBeans24 a secondary oestrogen rise kicks in a few days after ovulation, after the initial sudden fall. This could result in more CM. The level then stays high if implantation happens.

I currently seem to have more CM than usual and am really hungry. Probably just as a result of rising progesterone like in any cycle but my mind is scanning for hope like everyone else!

My period is due on the 17th and thinking of testing on the 13th. A bit of a punt as I have fibroids likely causing a problem.

Good luck all.

Hopethisendswell · 06/04/2024 22:17

You really learn a lot from these boards, thank you 🤗

Just thoroughly depressed myself by reading up chances of being (naturally) pregnant at 42. Damn Google and my lack of self control going down rabbit holes on the Internet this time of night.

Going to take a deep breath and give myself a good talking to, look after myself and just see what happens. I think you are all made of beautiful stronger stuff if you are coping with the ups and downs of TTC each month 💐

MissEmily5 · 06/04/2024 22:39

I’m due on 15th but it could be later as my past two cycles have been slightly longer than normal for me.
I’m not too bad at testing early- I really can’t imagine getting a BFP so I’m never really
tempted 😂 plus if I get hooked my bank balance will heavily suffer!
What I am terrible at is googling every little symptom for every dpo day, so I’m really going to try and lock that down this month!

I tend to get creamy and watery discharge on 3dpo- although my discharge never seems to match what it should be. Very annoying.

ToeBeans24 · 07/04/2024 10:15

@MissEmily5 same for me this month! Normally it matches OPKs but this month is haywire. Typical. Not to tempt you but I got a pack of cheapies for about £7 on Amazon think it was a pack of 20 lol. Did not help my POAS addiction and last month was gutted with a week of bfn so stepping away from them until 9dpo as I’m going out. Then if bfn won’t do until 12/14dpo.

@Hopethisendswell google is my enemy I’m sure ! I try to take what I read with a pinch of salt as all our bodies are diff 🥰

Hopethisendswell · 07/04/2024 10:23

Oooh pack of 20 for £7 you say?....
(Skips of merrily to search amazon again)

MissEmily5 · 07/04/2024 10:42

@ToeBeans24 same with my OPKs this month! It’s crazy how many hurdles there is when TTC- my Nan can’t believe how difficult it all is and wonders how anyone even got pregnant 🙈😂
I have actually got a stash of pregnancy tests but the idea of blowing them all on early testing helps me with my restraint, because once I’ll do one, then there is no stopping me 😅
I started spotting this morning… 8 days before my expected period due date… think I’m going to request a progesterone blood test with my GP. I have spotted in the past but never this early. Any of you ladies spot before your period?

ToeBeans24 · 07/04/2024 11:57

@Hopethisendswell they were the Wondfo cheap strips. Think they are 10miu ones so super sensitive. Think FRERs are 6miu but require a second mortgage 🤣

@MissEmily5 could it be implantation spotting? I am a spotter pre AF but usually only 2 days. Several days after usually too. When I had the coil in place (copper) it was awful and would end up spotting for a week prior to AF. That turned out to be because it was in fact in the wrong place but that’s a story for a different day 🫣🤭

Hopethisendswell · 07/04/2024 12:02

Pre AF spotter here too. A couple of days usually, but only when wiping.

Just wondering...I woke up at 5am with strong cramping/ pains on lower left (the same side I had ovulation cramps on), should I worry about an ectopic? Only lasted a few minutes then stopped and no bleeding today or anything but CM is watery again. I'm only 5 dpo so still early.

Wishing I'd paid more attention to my body last month so I know if this is normal for me 😅 (I put this on the other board I'm on, hope it's not cheeky I copied and pasted!)

MissEmily5 · 07/04/2024 13:03

@ToeBeans24 well Flo is saying I’m 4dpo, but if I did ovulate when I got pains then I’ll be 5/6dpo, so possible I guess… but I don’t think it is the case, I think it’s more likely my body playing tricks on me 😂 I’ve spotted up to 4 days before my period but never 8, seems quite extreme to me!
Oh dear😳 I heard so many horror stories when it came to implants, I just stuck to pills.

@Hopethisendswell I wouldn’t worry too much about the possibility of ectopic, it’s still very early days, could quite possibly be implantation at that point! :) just keep an eye on the pains getting worse.
