@Onthedouble123 did you get your peak

Rosyposy26 · 17/04/2024 10:53

@Ella31 Im now CD4 and period seems to be slowing I will be doing OPKs as due to the MC I’m unsure when I will ovulate.

ThelastRolo20 · 17/04/2024 11:08

@Ella31 I hope the acupuncture has done the trick and ovulation comes earlier for you!

@Rosyposy26 I'm cycle day 4 too, I'm not going to track ovulation though, going to just have sex over the predicted fertile week and see what happens. My cycle is 2 days shorter than usual at the moment though so not holding out much hope to be honest as ovulation may be at a weird time

Rosyposy26 · 17/04/2024 11:13

@ThelastRolo20 we will just did loads this cycle was 45 days long so just wondering if I will ovulate but I also start new job so will concentrate on that. I’m usually good at telling just by CM. But when I did fall didn’t track anything other than period dates.

Looking for opinions on a really hard situation, I've had two miscarriages in the space of three months, it took us three years to conceive in the first place, were having tests and the baby they removed on the weekend is being tested for DNA issues, but that will take three months for results, I am a person who very much wants to try and crack on and get what I want and by doing this it helps me to recover from previous experiences but I am scared there's something wrong and if we catch again the same could just happen, but it could just be one of those things where we were unlucky and the babies were not healthy, what have your mindsets been like after loss I just don't know what to do, I know that your chances are higher to conceive after a MC due to higher fertility and that did work for us the last time

Am2019 · 17/04/2024 13:53

Hi ladies
I joined this thread a month or so back but haven't really posted yet.
We have a gorgeous ds already who is 3 and was conceived via IVF 🥰
We had unexplained fertility. In Nov 2022 we had a surprise natural pregnancy but sadly miscarried at 11 weeks.

We had a FET in July last year which didn't work 😕

Now we've been TTC #2 naturally again for 7 months.

I'm struggling at the moment as all our friends are either pregnant with their second or have recently given birth so feels like the whole world around me is celebrating and we're not 😔

Any tips on how to deal with this. We're about to go away for the weekend with friends who have just announced their pregnancy with #2 and I'm really anxious!

I don't want to sway you here because testing is important. I had two mc before my twins and I got pregnant straight after my second mc. My twins were perfect and I only lost them at 29 weeks because of a twin condition that is random and rare. So I have no issues. I don't want to sway you though and I appreciate how tough this is

ThelastRolo20 · 17/04/2024 14:04

@Rockyslife sorry to hear about your back to MCs, I had the same within 3 months. Found out about my 1st MMC in October at 12 weeks, miscarried the day after, got pregnant in November and had another MMC in January at 10 weeks. I think sometimes it is extraordinary bad luck, I actually had a heamatoma with the second one and I wonder if it's because we tried so soon after. We're just coming off of a 3 month break to give my body some breathing space and to give it the best chance possible. That being said I know lots of people who got pregnant straight after MCs with no issues.

@Am2019 it's so difficult when people announce pregnancies. After I had my first MC in October it seems all of my friends are pregnant with their second babies! I'm very alone in my immediate friendship group at the moment. Does your friend know about your journey? If pregnancy talk is kept to a minimum I find that helps a lot!

Start the day your bleeding stops. I test around 2pm and 7pm or 1pm and 7pm. It's important to test in the afternoon as your lh is higher then.

Thank you. I’ve been testing in morning and probably later at night will do lunch time and evening then.

When you get to your fertile week, you can do morning too. Fingers crossed. I'm cycle day 9 now

@Ella31 I think I've peaked this evening. Was 1.09 at 6pm then down to 0.84 a short while ago. How many times do people DTD- or more to the point, how many times did people DTD months they fell pregnant?
I feel like we put too much pressure on and also start too early as soon as the "window" technically opens so that by the time my peak comes it's a chore.
If this month doesn't work im thinking of just testing 3x per day in fertile week and just doing it a couple of times specifically around the peak. Are we just cutting our chances though? X

Ella31 · 17/04/2024 23:59

I do it the 5 days leading up and 2 after. It is an absolute chore by ovulation but it has worked for me.

This time I'm doing smep to take pressure off

Plantpott · 18/04/2024 09:15

Did anyone else take ages to physically recover from their miscarriage? It's been almost 2.5 months and I'm still struggling. I felt unwell for weeks after, briefly recovered then caught a cold and went straight from that into another illness, this time with a fever etc so I'm off work sick again after taking ages off for the miscarriage itself. I was anaemic initially but I think that's improved. I've had bloods done this week to check.

Blueskies4 · 18/04/2024 12:06

@rockyslife sorry for your losses, the back to back is so tough.

I conceived my daughter 3 months after my 1st MC and had a really healthy pregnancy.. Equally I got pregnant 1st cycle after my 2nd miscarriage and miscarried again straightaway so I think this is such a tricky one, because no two pregnancies are the same.

If you haven’t already come across this on the Tommys website, it’s a tool which tells you your chances of a successful pregnancy next time and it may help to give you some assurance and pointers around what to do. Equally Tommys helpline is midwife led and they’re amazing at providing support, I’ve phoned them a couple of times before;

https://www.miscarriagetool.tommys.org/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiYOxBhC5ARIsAIvdH52uQY1q23jny0aW4gvjcv7zrqSFOKSqMQnt1rsWUuZ5Hiv1Lm84jqgaAtzQEALw_wcB

So I guess my (not sure if helpful) advice is do what you feel is best for you personally, but look after yourself whilst you do it. I’m seeing a fertility acupuncturist because the 4th was just a push too far for me and she’s been amazing for support and to make sure I’m looking after myself so I’d highly recommend that for anyone really struggling with decisions and the emotions around miscarriage and TTC ❤️

We do insemination due to being a same sex couple. The month I got pregnant we inseminated 3 times which 3 days before ovulation, 2 days before ovulation and day before ovulation. Done at home, not in a clinic or with medication.

Blueskies4 · 18/04/2024 12:15

@Am2019 I’m sorry to hear about your losses and the FET, that must have been so hard.

It’s really tricky and I’m in a similar position with pregnancies and babies where they seem to be everywhere - I think you have to give yourself the space and boundaries and whilst it’s really hard, maybe just explain ahead that whilst you’re super happy for them, you’re not the best person to talk to right now about pregnancy and babies with everything you’ve been through. Good friends will always understand.

I’ve also found it really helpful to plan in fun things to take my mind off of TTC and miscarriage - I know this is probably what you intended with the weekend you have planned but things to look forward to that give your mind a break from babies and let you be yourself x

Sending big hugs xx

Do ask them to look at cause of low iron / low feretin
Rather than potentially just treat symptoms..

My low feretin was linked to bowel polyps

Dont let them just say periods

So sorry re your loss

I know that pain

U are a different person after

So AF has finished now on to next cycle. I have a scan on Friday to make sure what ever that 12mm tissue that I had has come away.

Am2019 · 19/04/2024 21:39
