jellyfish2210 · 07/01/2024 20:05

@Lalaland13 oh I wish I could do that. I have a 7 though and it still works perfectly fine, think DH would be miffed if I upgraded my watch just to measure temp lol.

Lalaland13 · 07/01/2024 20:14

Yeah - my hubby hasnt been told I’ve got a new one coming 😂 he won’t even notice tbh!

Hayl777 · 07/01/2024 20:16

I monitor with my Apple Watch, it dips the day i ovulate then steadily rises.
stayed up when pregnant and dropped when not.
i got a “weekly insight” saying it was raised the same day as I came down stairs holding my boobs cos they hurt and twigged 😅 (that one was unplanned)
Just remember to put ur watch into sleep mode or it doesn’t record, and it takes about a week of readings b4 it starts to chart.

Supertrooper101 · 08/01/2024 12:14

@jellyfish2210 i got the femometer one. It needs to be one with 2 decimal places. Theory is to stick one arm out of the duvet to do it before getting up at the same time everyday. You should have a drop of 2degrees before ovulation then a big spike to confirm ovulation did happen. The spike will remain if pregnant, if not, it will drop significantly just before af. Lady who does acupunture said mine should be around 36 4 or 5 pre ovulation and above 36.60 to 37 after

Fullofconfusion · 08/01/2024 13:02

Just checking in…I don’t think I’ve joined the new year thread!!

Hope you’re all doing well ladies. @JC084 sending hugs at this difficult time. I hope your scan tomorrow brings good news.

I’m now on CD 20 and this is my 3rd cycle since coming off the pill. Flo app predicts ovulation in 3 days as I’ve been having long cycles. I’ve used OPKs for the first time and not registered anything yet. Some lines but not very dark so will just keep testing every day.

worldwidetravel2017 · 08/01/2024 13:14

Depending on which ovulation tests your using - with some its recommended u test am anc pm ^

Fullofconfusion · 08/01/2024 13:23

Thanks @worldwidetravel2017 their onestep(?) maybe. Someone had recommended them from Amazon. It just says not FMU and withhold fluids beforehand on them so I’ve been testing mid morning

SnookyPook · 08/01/2024 14:17

@Fullofconfusion I used those ones. I did similar to you (around 9am) but when they started to rise I would also do an evening one (never worried too much about holding!). I get a very rapid peak so mine would be low until the day before, then a miniscule rise, then slightly higher again in the morning, then my peak in the evening and then straight back down again the next day.

Teela86 · 08/01/2024 14:26

@Fullofconfusion I use those too but always use fmu because otherwise they show nothing for me .. . Plus not sure it counts as fmu when you are always getting up in the night to pee!

Hi, just checking into the new thread. It’s been a crappy few weeks, after a bfp on 3/12 at 14dpo I caught covid around 6 weeks just before Xmas. Then I had a private scan before NY when I was 7/8 weeks and found it was a MMC. I have just had surgical management of the miscarriage.
not sure if we are going to try again as this has been a shock to the system with lots of surprising as well as expected emotions, but may well be back to TTC after we have had a good think about it all.
Hope everyone is doing OK xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 08/01/2024 15:32

@JC084 Im really sorry to read your updates. I hope you get good news at the EPU this week.
I had zero bleeds with this MMC and bled frequently in my successful pregnancy with my daughter. It can go either way xx

Fullofconfusion · 08/01/2024 15:33

Oh @CurlyWurly1991 I’m so sorry. Definitely take some time to heal physically and mentally before making any decisions. Make sure you look after yourself.

Thanks everyone for the advice on the OPKs. I’m a total newbie at this!

RoseH36 · 08/01/2024 17:03

@CurlyWurly1991 I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through. I think in a lot of ways a mmc is worse as you start to think everything is ok with no obvious signs. I had surgery for mine too, be kind to yourself and take things easy. Sending you lots of hugs x

Teela86 · 08/01/2024 17:09

@CurlyWurly1991 sorry to hear this x

CurlyWurly1991 · 08/01/2024 17:21

Thanks for the well wishes xx it’s crappy but I’m glad to be on the other side of the physical part at least.

I tried to at some point but gave up on it.
You have to do it first thing in the morning, before opening your mouth. I'm a mouth breather so I am not a good candidate. I also get up to pee at night and I read that will affect the readings, as ideally they want someone who sleeps through the night with their mouth closed. I used a regular digital thermometer that you measure temperature with in your mouth. It may not be like 100% precise but still gives you an idea of what your basal body temperature is.
I like the idea of bracelets or smart watches doing this tho.

Catson · 08/01/2024 21:43

Hi all, I'm just lurking as I like to check how you're all getting on so thought I'd place mark. Hope you're all ok

JC084 · 09/01/2024 11:00

@CurlyWurly1991 so sorry to read your news. Thinking of you. Thank you also for your words below. It really is so difficult and I really
Feel for you.
I had my EPAU appointment this morning. It confirmed what I knew. Pregnancy has totally gone. The positive I can take from jt is that I don't need any intervention as it passed naturally.
I have been added to the list for the Feb clinic so we can start doing some tests and see what might be wrong (if anything). They were so lovely and have said they're there to support me and help me now. Was a very emotional morning but I'm happy I can get some support

RoseH36 · 09/01/2024 13:43

@JC084 sending you hugs. It's great you're being referred for tests though so hopefully they can find something to help going forwards, great you've not got long to wait either.

Back in the TWW for me. Tried the pre-seed this time round, see if that helps anything along.

BiscuitDreams · 09/01/2024 14:16

@JC084 I'm pleased you're getting support now. Sending good vibes.

Not much to report here. I'm 6dpo I think and I've felt terribly nauseous and have had tummy issues for a few days. DH now has a tummy bug so it's obviously that. Also I have sore nipples but I think I often have that after ovulation. Not sure when to test. I'm not due for ages so no point wasting tests I suppose!

Applesandcake · 09/01/2024 17:21

Cycle day 5 of cycle two ttc number 3. I ovulated on day 12 last month I think, so fertile window might start as soon as day 7/8. Intending to start dtd cycle day 8, through until two days after a positive ovulation tests. Using advanced clear blue ovulation tests so will more less following what that says.

If I don’t fall this cycle we can’t try next month for a few reasons, so it would be very convenient if we got lucky and it happened this time!

I’m really going to try and be less obsessive this month! We’ll see how that goes…
