@CurlyWurly1991 when are you due AF?

CurlyWurly1991 · 15/03/2024 19:38

@jellyfish2210 i don’t actually know as I didn’t temp or do OPKs this cycle for a break. Based on EWCM I think I’m around 9dpo …
how about you?

Fullofconfusion · 15/03/2024 19:44

Just a little update for anyone wanting to know.
I’ve been for a scan today. Should have been my 12 week dating scan but I thought I might only be 11 weeks as unsure of ovulation dates due to long cycles. Well neither of us were right, I’ve only measured in at 8+3. Sonographer seemed happy that everything looked ok, I’m just a bit shocked that I’m not quite as far on as I expected. We did see a little heartbeat beating away though 💗

so @Bumblebee413 and @RoseH36 it looks like I’m a bit behind you both. I’ll have to wait another 4 weeks to get another peak at my little bean so that they can do the screening tests

Bumblebee413 · 15/03/2024 19:55

Oh my goodness @Fullofconfusion, what a surprise for you! I wonder how things unfolded. Maybe you had a chemical pregnancy but then got pregnant again on the next cycle before the hormones dropped low enough to stop showing on a test? The four week difference means it may have been a consecutive pregnancy? Apologies for not remembering but how did your line progression go/ did you have any spotting?

Finally and most importantly, huge congratulations on your cheeky little bean with it’s lovely heartbeat xxx

Fullofconfusion · 15/03/2024 20:11

@Bumblebee413 I think I’ve just ovulated later than I expected. The midwife went with first day of last period but my cycles had been all over the place. Last one before conception was 53 days! I tested a got a faint line for the first time on 3rd feb but had tested negative a week beforehand so it’s probably right. I’ve just panicked a bit when they’ve gone of last period and got my dates muddled! Lines did take a while to get darker but no bleeding. Just a sneaky late conception I think. Now the worry of the next four weeks before the next scan! Fingers crossed for your scan

Bumblebee413 · 15/03/2024 21:06

That makes far more sense than my theory! The cycle before I conceived was 49 days (and 9 negative tests! 😳🫣). I wonder if they’re sort of cleansing type cycles? Probably blind luck. But it would have been one of those times where it would have been nice to have future me tell me to stop worrying that my uterus had just decided it was retiring.

TW - loss
***

Hi ladies, sorry to bring the mood down in the chat and I'm so pleased to hear so many good news stories - but unfortunately mine is not.

I've had 2 scans so far and last time (at approx 7 weeks) I saw a wonderful little heartbeat.
I went in today again - as they're seeing me every 2 weeks at the moment - and unfortunately there was no heartbeat to be found. It appears baby stopped growing at around 8+5 whilst I had thought i was around 9+3 today💔

I've been on progesterone and so they say this may be why I haven't had any bleeding. So, it may be that now I'm stopping taking it, it may come on naturally.
However, I'm booked in for surgery Tuesday as have decided that's the route I want to go down as opposed to medical management.

If anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it. This is the first time I've had to go in for any intervention as the last 3 times have all passed naturally.
I'm honestly heartbroken as I'm sure many on here will understand.
I turned 40 at the start of the year and I just feel like this might have been my last chance 💔

Daniki · 15/03/2024 21:37

@JC084 oh I'm so sorry 😔 that's terrible. Please take it easy on yourself, and I think you're right to go the surgery route the tablets are so painful and drags it on (in my experience) I hope you have lots of support❤️

JC084 · 15/03/2024 21:44

@Daniki thank you. I just feel a bit lost. I think that's why I came on here. I know how supportive these chats can be through the good and the bad.
My husband has been great today, but I know he is struggling too, so it's hard. We have no other family around as they are 100s of miles away so I just feel so lonely. I have my husband and 3yr old and obviously that's great support, but it's hard trying to entertain our little girl when she doesn't understand what's happening

RoseH36 · 15/03/2024 21:48

@Fullofconfusion I imagine that was a bit of a surprise for you. But fantastic to hear everything is looking well for you. I hope the next few weeks go quickly for you, I know how much time can feel like it's dragging.

@JC084 I'm so sorry to hear you're in this position again 😢 I had surgery for my mmc last year, there was no way I wanted to go through that naturally and as Daniki says I've heard others experience the same that things have dragged on. The surgery is over really quickly and I found I only had light bleeding afterwards. It's the emotional side of things that takes longer. Be kind to yourself, take as much time as you need to rest and know that we're all here for you x

JC084 · 15/03/2024 21:52

@RoseH36 thank you so much. From what I've been reading I definitely think it is the right decision. I had really hoped this was my time - but again it was not to be x

jellyfish2210 · 15/03/2024 22:46

@JC084 I'm so sorry for your loss x

Lalaland13 · 16/03/2024 07:12

Hey @jellyfish2210 it’s due 26th so only 6 DPO! I feel like the feelings I had day made me think something have become less frequent now!

Lalaland13 · 16/03/2024 07:13

How you doing @jellyfish2210 ? Any symptoms?

Lalaland13 · 16/03/2024 07:17

So sorry to read this @JC084

So difficult when you’ve heard a healthy heart beat 😢

Sorry no experience to add but sending love xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 16/03/2024 07:47

@JC084 I’m so very sorry to hear this. I will DM you as I have had this experience recently x

JC084 · 16/03/2024 08:11

Thank you ladies. Managed to get a reasonable nights sleep and also spoke to my boss yesterday evening which has put my mind at ease (am 4 weeks into a new job so telling them was worrying me too)
Going to have a quiet few days and just focus on Tuesday x

teampacey · 16/03/2024 08:16

@JC084 so so sorry you are you going through this. Be gentle with yourself.

Fullofconfusion · 16/03/2024 08:18

@JC084 I’m so sorry. I hope everything goes well for your surgery. I have no experience but I imagine you’ll need plenty of time to mentally process things too.

@Bumblebee413 I’m sure our bodies do these things to keep us guessing. I’m going to go crazy waiting another 4 weeks. I need to stop googling!

worldwidetravel2017 · 16/03/2024 08:20

@JC084
So sorry to hear

jellyfish2210 · 16/03/2024 09:05

@Lalaland13 oh every single thing! Totally over analysing every little thing. I had my hycosy test just two days before expected ovulation so I doubt this will be my month. My follow up for the fertility clinic is in 3 months as apparently 85% of women who have clear results in their hycosy test get pregnant within three months. So I have a lot of hope for the next three months. Although we are seriously considering taking a break next cycle as the due date would the December 25th 🙄

Wow I never heard that '85% of women who have clear results in their hycosy test get pregnant within three months'. My doctor did say that it improves odds but I didn't know it worked that well!

@JC084 I'm so sorry 😞

jellyfish2210 · 16/03/2024 09:48

It's probably one of those ridiculous statistics that's not actually true but I'm holding on to hope!!

@JC084 i am so sorry for your loss, amazing that you got a good night’s sleep and I hope it’s sunny where you are - brighter days are literally ahead!

Re: the ‘last chance’ feeling. I find that women are especially hard on ourselves and count ourselves out or say we missed our chance. I see people on this board who have just turned 30 saying the same thing. Of course age is a factor but it is also based on averages and it’s not a hard and fast rule for everyone. Try and speak to yourself like you would a friend, and not heap more pressure on yourself unnecessarily.

Will be sending you warm well wishes from sunny London
