@JC084 I’m so very sorry. It sounds like you’ve made a good choice for you. There’s a current miscarriage thread where one of the ladies has recently going through a surgical procedure and it sounds as though she’s had a really positive experience, as have most of the ladies there who have also had one. I’d recommend having a look as they’re a lovely, supportive bunch of women.

Please don’t ever apologise for ‘bringing the mood down’. It can be really hard to post here both with joyful and hard news as you know either can be triggering for people and the last thing you ever want to do here is hurt someone. Personally I’m grateful when people do both. Obviously both can hurt, depending on where you are, but the good can bring hope and the sad brings support and understanding among us all that this is can be a really hard path that we’re walking but it helps to know that others have walked it before us/ are walking it with us x

SnookyPook · 16/03/2024 15:02

Beautifully said @Bumblebee413 and sending so much love to you @JC084 . It's so so hard going through loss and many of us on the thread unfortunately know all too well that sadness of bad news at a scan. It's just heartbreaking and I'm sending you the biggest hug. That feeling of time running out doesn't help either, but as others have said, there are indeed lots of babies born to women over the age of 40 so it's not necessarily the end of the road. However I know it's also so hard to psych yourself up for potentially going through it all again. After multiple losses it really is so draining. After my last one I spoke with a bereavement midwife and found that quite cathartic. She was also able to put me on a pathway to better MH support if I wanted. Might be worth asking about when it's not all so fresh. In the meantime, lean on your loved ones. Do whatever you need to grieve this loss and process it all and regroup. 💗

@worldwidetravel2017 hope all goes well for you over the next few weeks. Would be so lovely if you got a little holiday BFP but either way it will be a well deserved break from everything else you've been going through, and hopefully help to reset you for new beginnings.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Page 40 again! We'll be needing a new thread soon!

CurlyWurly1991 · 16/03/2024 17:32

Hope everyone has had a good weekend so far.
I met a lovely friend who is relocating and getting rid of tons of baby stuff. I actually sold all my stuff about 2 years ago thinking hey, my daughter is 8, there’s no chance now we’ll have another - before promptly doing a 180 and TTC. I hope it isn’t bad luck but I’ve come home with a big bundle of reusable nappies, blankets, a travel cot and a bouncer 😳

jellyfish2210 · 17/03/2024 12:46

BFN today on easy@home test but only 9dpo so still early. Couldn't resist testing, I'm an addict, a poas addict!!

DH has got my hopes up: when he came to bed last night the cat was sitting on me kneading me with her paws, she did it again this morning. I tried to brush it off as her being out of sorts (she's been off her food the last few days) but he's all "maybe it's an early indication" as she never does that. Now it's all I can think about 🙄

BiscuitDreams · 17/03/2024 15:58

@jellyfish2210 Haha, that would be amazing! My cat has been way clingier recently so I'm going to take it as a sign. 😃 Also I'm 8dpo and stupidly tested and obviously it was a bfn. I don't know why I do this??

I've been symptom spotting again and getting carried away. Lol. I've had cramps today and yesterday and my boobs are definitely sore. But then these are all PMS symptoms and I have a few spots too so I'm guessing it's AF just around the corner. I ovulated quite late though (day 19?) so I'm not expecting it quite yet. Who knows. I'll probably just come on early as it's happened before. 👎🏻

jellyfish2210 · 17/03/2024 16:07

Oh I keep telling myself I'm not going to test until AF is overdue but it never happens🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm symptom spotting too, my boobs feel huge but I'm probably imagining it. I had a migraine yesterday and today and I always get that right before AF so I'm probably just delusional/desperate lol.

Lalaland13 · 17/03/2024 16:38

As long as using cheapies no harm in my book 😂😂@jellyfish2210

I feel like I had all these symptoms but all gone now! Except I am not sleeping great but who knows why that is! Its a bloody annoying depressing thing, obvs you need to DTD often to stand a chance but almost getting so we can’t bothered that much as not even like it seems to work at the moment!

Yes, still early, fingers crossed for a BFP in the next couple of days!

I hope kitty's OK?

jellyfish2210 · 18/03/2024 08:22

@CatCaretaker yes she's grand. She brought up a hairball the other day and I think it's upset her delicate balance 🙄. She's back eating and ate fine all day yesterday.

BiscuitDreams · 18/03/2024 11:05

So it's 9dpo for me and I tested, because why not. And of course it's another bfn. Haha. I wish I could say that I won't test now and I'll wait for AF, but I know myself so I'll probably test every day now and stare at the lack of lines. I used to be a sensible person and now I'm like this. Not sure what happened there...

Hoping to see some BFPs here soon! I have lost hope for myself because I do feel like AF is on her way. Maybe it'll be a short cycle and I can get onto the next one soon. 💪🏻

Stay positive

Sometimes a positive doesnt show til 13 dpo

jellyfish2210 · 18/03/2024 12:03

@BiscuitDreams I'm 10dpo but woke with another migraine and have some light cramp like niggles so fairly confident AF is on the way. I tested yesterday and bfn. Didn't have time to test this morning as we all slept in so it was a mad dash out the house.

The waiting is torture, it's so draining. Not much else to say other than I think all of us here get it 🙄

CatCaretaker · 18/03/2024 15:00

Delighted to hear that 😊

BiscuitDreams · 18/03/2024 20:10

Thanks for the encouragement guys. 💪🏻 Yeah the TWW is tough! I guess we just have to keep busy and try not to think about it too much.

I must say though that I'm going from "definitely not" to "hmm maybe" and back to "definitely not". 🤣 I'm having cramps in my lower abdomen and I think I can feel them in my back too. Also the occasional stabbing pains down below. It's uncomfortable enough for me to notice, but also could be digestive issues or AF or anything really.

At least we should all know one way or another by Easter? Then we can all have a nice relaxing Easter weekend. 😃 (Wishful thinking? Lol.)

jellyfish2210 · 19/03/2024 09:06

11dpo and did a boots early test which was negative. Feeling quite down today. I have fixed orthodontic braces and had them tightened yesterday so feeling very sorry for myself today. Thankfully it's a short work day for me today and a lovely day here so hoping to take DD out for a walk after school and try take my mind off things.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Need to make a part 2 thread!

jellyfish2210 · 19/03/2024 09:07

@JC084 hope today goes as well as it can. Thinking about you x

BiscuitDreams · 19/03/2024 10:32

@JC084 Sorry, I completely missed your earlier messages. I'm so sorry this is happening to you and I hope today goes well. For what it's worth, I have unfortunately had a similar surgical procedure but later in pregnancy, and it was okay. Recovery was quick too and I actually ended up pregnant with my living child a couple of weeks after the operation. Do message me if you want to chat. 😊

@jellyfish2210 Sorry to hear you're feeling down today. Hope the weather stays nice and you get a nice bit of sunshine to make you feel better. I can high five you on the bfn though. I'm feeling a bit miserable about it too, especially as my symptoms have disappeared. It's still early though! I checked FF for my old charts and I only got a positive test on 15dpo when I was pregnant with my child back in the day. Nothing before that. So there is still time. 😃 Although I'm going to get some vitamins and stuff in and going to go crazy in April and see if it pays off. Haha.

jellyfish2210 · 19/03/2024 11:35

@BiscuitDreams I did the same and looked back at when I had DD and it was 2-3 days after AF was due that I finally got a positive. I still have mild cramps but I think that's AF brewing or digestive issues 😔.

Lalaland13 · 19/03/2024 12:04

Also testing @BiscuitDreams @jellyfish2210 and of course negative! And feelings I had have gone 😢😢 hard it’s a hard slog! Fingers crossed for us all.

Hope all goes as well as it can today @JC084 - thinking of you xx

Been feeling very off over the past week and having non stop light cramps. Just tested today at 12dpo and I have myself a bfp!

SnookyPook · 19/03/2024 15:56

@CurlyWurly1991 was it this cycle you were contemplating skipping and taking a break? This is what happened to me! Appreciate you will be a bit wary of it all in these early days after your loss etc but fingers crossed this will be a sticky little bean 🙏🏼🌈

Thank you @SnookyPook yes I very nearly skipped this cycle. Didn’t do any tracking, bbt or OPKs and made things less stressful. We have holidays booked and also because my daughter told us she really really doesn’t want a sibling 😱
but here we are. Very happy!

SnookyPook · 19/03/2024 16:28

@CurlyWurly1991 clearly the Universe had other plans! Your daughter has a few months to come round to the idea! My step-daughter was 11 when our DS was born and absolutely dotes on him! It's been a lovely gap.
