@worldwidetravel2017 the other factor is that to be interpreted correctly you have to have the day 21 test exactly 7 days after ovulation (or is it 7 days before period? 🤔)

@Lalaland13 aw thanks I appreciate that.

@worldwidetravel2017 I think that over 30 is ideal to confirm ovulation, but from what I’ve heard some NHS trusts are happy with 20 or even 15. I think it shows that you’ve ovulated at that level, but the GP might say ‘it could be higher’. Have they offered to repeat it in another cycle? I got like 29.3 the first time and the GP wanted to repeat it.

The tests were done privately

I definitely ovulate - can tell by discharge, bbt and boobs

Its more the do i have a hormone in balance etc
Concerns re progsterone given my miscarriage history

Im on a wait list 4 endocrinology...

Highest my progsterone has been recorded so far is 19.8 on day 26 of my January cycle / jan to early Feb

Its day 21 if you ovulate on day 14
And have a 28 day cycle..

I ovulate days 17 / 18 ish
And more like a 29 / 30 day cycle

Ive been off zinc lately

If i start the zinc daily on cycle day 1 - maybe things will regulate more again

CurlyWurly1991 · 05/03/2024 18:40

@worldwidetravel2017 ok, then if you ovulate day 17 or 18 you would need to do the test on CD 24 or 25.
my periods are irregular so I can only do a day 21 test when I’m temping and using OPKs. I really hate doing those things though!
the problem with progesterone blood tests is that it is normal for levels to be very variable by the hour.

Yes - today is day 25 - i went for another test this afternoon - awaiting results

Thanks 4 listening
So hard when you want something so bad

CurlyWurly1991 · 05/03/2024 18:51

@worldwidetravel2017 i know it really sucks sometimes. Loads of luck to you xx

worldwidetravel2017 · 05/03/2024 18:57

I actually ordered some natural progesterone cream the other month

Havent used it yet

After some private imagery that showed fibrocystic boobs - the staff suggested natural progesterone

( they think i might have estrogen dominance - partly why NHS are going to do estrogen tests / hormone tests )

MOGMOGMOG85 · 05/03/2024 19:17

Hi everyone - af arrived shortly after posting here on Saturday, and ohs test results are in 1% normal morphology. Awaiting an appointment Tuesday to find out what that means. Does that mean ivf is out the window too??

Hope everyone is doing OK. Even though that's obviously not great news I feel better to know, and no more waiting on tests, and also feel hopeful that if we were able to make a good embryo then ivf would be a great thing for us.... but I don't know if that's OK for poor morphology...

Can I join this thread too? I'm 37 and have just stopped the pill to ttc #1. There are so many unknowns and I'm worried that I've left things too late. It's great to see the support and advice on this thread.

CatCaretaker · 06/03/2024 16:26

@flowersinthecloud you sound similar to me. I was 37 when started trying for #1. 38 now, still ttc. I hope it's faster for you! What cycle day are you now?

@CatCaretaker I hope we both get positives soon. I'm on day 14, but feel a bit out of touch with my body after being on the pill for so many years. I'm trying to give myself 3 months for my cycles to settle down before I start tracking too closely, but it's hard!

CatCaretaker · 06/03/2024 17:10

@flowersinthecloud it is hard, but try not to stress. From what I've seen on MN, it's very unusual for it not to happen fast, irrespective of age. I'm sure you'll get a BFP before you know it, most do, with no trouble at all.

jellyfish2210 · 06/03/2024 18:21

Had my HyCoSy test yesterday. Somewhat traumatic as I thought DH would be allowed in with me but he wasn't. They barely spoke to me about what was happening. But none the less it was all good news, tubes are clear and my section scar has healed fine so it looks like our issue is my thyroid or my weight. At least both of these can be worked on.

CurlyWurly1991 · 06/03/2024 18:29

@jellyfish2210 glad to hear no issues were found but sorry to hear that it was quite traumatic. These gynae procedures can be crap can’t they? I’ve had polyp removal and the surgical management of MMC and despite all the efforts of nice nhs staff I always feel somewhat like a piece of meat… it’s crappy being a woman sometimes!
I am not doing any tracking this cycle except for CM which in a way is quite liberating on the other hand I’m used to having more data! I have the vague crampy feelings that suggest I’m just after ovulation but could be today so will try and get another opportunity in if I can. I feel liberated by not doing OPKs for a change!

jellyfish2210 · 06/03/2024 18:45

DH was pretty gutted for me that he wasn't able to come in, I get myself in such a state for these exams/tests. Even a smear gets my blood pressure rising with anxiety. Just relieved that everything is ok. All DH had to do was put his "sample" in a cup! I've had blood test after blood test and two transvaginal scans. Plus all the supplements I'm taking. I think he is starting to appreciate just how much harder it is to be a woman, especially one that wants another baby!! He bought me flowers and chocolate 😊

Fullofconfusion · 06/03/2024 19:45

Aw @jellyfish2210 thats very sweet of him. Sorry he couldn’t be there. I had to have abnormal cells removed after a smear test a few years ago and I asked if my mum could come with me. I’m rubbish on my own.

Hope you’re all doing well ladies and there’s some more BFPs soon.

@flowersinthecloud I’d been on the pill for nearly 20 years when I came off to TTC my first baby. It took nearly a year before I had a proper period and I worried it would never happen but u conceived fairly quickly after that. This time around I’d been back on the pill 4 years before coming off to TTC again and it happened much quicker, within 4 cycles! So it can totally depend on how your body settles back into cycles again. Fingers crossed it’s quick for you.

My booking appointment is on Friday. I’m nervous but can’t wait to get a scan date and see my little bean for the first time. I’m (I think) 10 weeks now

RoseH36 · 06/03/2024 19:46

@MOGMOGMOG85 welcome back! I remember you from last year. Not sure what those test results mean but fingers crossed it doesn't impact on you having ivf. My DH struggled with a low sex drive so we were only trying twice near my peak but leaving a day gap in between to stop him feeling so much pressure.

@VixFromThe6ix @SnookyPook so pleased things are going well for you both still.

I had another reassurance scam yesterday and measuring exactly 10 weeks so all well still. Got my dating scan in 2 weeks time.

To all of those trying this month I'm sending lots of baby dust your way and for those taking a break just enjoy the time without all the testing pressures. It's sometimes needed for your sanity. I had a break a couple of times over the last year and it did help.

@Fullofconfusion thats reassuring to hear that you managed to conceive once your period came back, although must be quite nerve-wrecking waiting a whole year! I was on the pill for 9 years and hadn’t realised the withdrawal bleed on the pill wasn’t a real period until I looked up about ttc. I dug out an old app I used to track my period on and found that my cycles varied by about 5 days, which might make tracking everything a little trickier too. Tbh wish I’d gone off it earlier to allow my body some more time to adjust, but we are where we are…

Hello all, hoping for some guidance (because I need to book in for a progesterone test, and want to make sure I get ovulation date right). I'll test again later today, but a test just gave 0.72 (as per pic below). If it's higher later, would that indicate ovulation tomorrow, but if it's lower later would that potentially indicate ovulation today?

(FYI, ignore the 2nd test, the app didn't read it correctly. 2nd and 3rd test are the same one).

CurlyWurly1991 · 09/03/2024 08:25

@CatCaretaker looks like an almost positive Opk to me! If it was me I would take them at least 4-5 times today - or basically every wee - because I always find the LH surge is very short. That way you would also know if the high reading you have there is catching the surge on its way up or way down. Once you can narrow down a 2ish day window with the OPKs that will help you time the day 21 test. Hope that helps
