@ThelastRolo20 yeah I get through a lot of those strip pregnancy tests! I have a son already - I assumed I’d need fertility treatment but DH and I decided to see what happened and set a date when we’d see the doctor for treatment, but I fell pregnant naturally (albeit it took a wee while). But I am much less chilled since the miscarriage, it feels like such a lot of wasted time, especially when it can take a long while for an egg to come along for me. I should make an effort with BBT this time - apparently it can work well for PCOS although typically a few more false starts

@Wise0wl I'm so so sorry :( these stats can't be right when you speak to people and realise how common reoccurrences can be. Lots of love and hugs to you ♥️

Vic231 · 18/12/2023 12:11

@Wise0wl I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending you lots of love ♥️

ThelastRolo20 · 18/12/2023 12:12

@Wise0wl I'm am so so sorry to see your update. Life can be an absolute shitter. Genuinely sending you lots of love xx

Bali200 · 18/12/2023 12:13

Oh @Wise0wl I’m so sorry to hear this lovely. Another MMC is truly heartbreaking. Sending you lots of love ❤️

I had an MVA and it was over really quickly, approx 7 minutes, and the pain was manageable. The nurses were really kind throughout, as difficult as it is I tried to think of ‘my happy place’ during the op. The physical recovery after was also better than expected. I hope it goes as well as can be, you’re in my thoughts x

Bugdem123 · 18/12/2023 12:25

@Wise0wl I'm so so sorry ❤️‍🩹 genuinely heartbroken for you. I'm thinking of you today x

ThelastRolo20 · 18/12/2023 12:37

@samilicious I completely agree that the stats can't be right, so many people I speak to have experienced the same

SnookyPook · 18/12/2023 13:52

@Wise0wl oh my darling 😞 so very sorry to hear your news. Gutted for you. Sending massive hugs. Hope you have lots of love and support around you. 💕

13lucy · 18/12/2023 13:56

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining? I'm currently waiting for ovulation in my second cycle TTC after MMC in September. Starting to stress out as I'm on CD21 with no signs of ovulation whatsoever. My temps are also a bit lower than they have been on previous cycles. My cycles have been irregular before but usually anywhere up to 35 days with 11 day luteal phase. Hoping it comes soon but also feeling a bit hopeless right now.

@HerbaceousPerennial sounds like we are in a similar position with long cycles, although I don't think I have PCOS. Feels so crap not getting as many opportunities and having to wait so long. I'm not sure whether testing is a good idea or not, but I want to be armed with all the information I need for my GP!

@Wise0wl I'm so sorry you're going through it again, life can be so cruel. I had an MVA (although just for retained tissue) and had a positive experience.

Wise0wl · 18/12/2023 14:40

You are all so lovely, thank you. The MVA was easier than my first (and I thought my first was pretty straightforward and not too painful). Everyone was so kind. We’ve opted to pay for genetic testing.

I’m sure the answer to this is yes, but can anyone share experiences of private fertility tests? They mentioned that - as I’m the sort of person that likes to feel like they’re taking action - it could be something I could look into?

GeorgeR28 · 18/12/2023 14:47

@CluelessInLondon 3dpo club also! Fed up of the two week wait already! & I’ve woke up with a sore throat today. Hope you’re doing okay!

samilicious · 18/12/2023 14:51

Welcome to the thread @13lucy
Sorry to hear about your loss and ovulation stresses. My friend had a MMC recently and had the same. She went for blood tests with her gp while waiting a long time for a period. While she was waiting for results she came on, but worth doing so you feel proactive maybe if it's getting you down?

CluelessInLondon · 18/12/2023 15:01

Hi @13lucy , nice to see you over here! I hope ovulation arrives for you soon.

@GeorgeR28 I hope you haven't got one of these winter bugs that's doing the rounds - whatever I've had is just lingering on a bit and I keep coughing which is just really annoying! What day is AF due for you?

graceinc22 · 18/12/2023 15:11

@Wise0wl I’m so, so sorry to hear that you’ve had another lost. How horrible life can be. Hugs ❤️

samilicious · 18/12/2023 15:24

@Wise0wl so glad it was easier ♥️
No experience of fertility testing but (sorry to keep banging on about it) worth listening to that 'Meaningful Loads' Katherine Ryan podcast (skip first 13 mins) episode because she had quite a few repeat MMC and saw a specialist and took aspirin, blood thinners and some other medication and that helped her carry two pregnancies to term. Talks about it in detail on there and the specialist she saw - Dr Shehata based at a CRP clinic in Epsom (not sure where you are but loads of info on their website about different tests if there might be similar ones near you).

Hope you find somewhere that gives you answers and good on you for turning to the future after this horrible thing has happened again ♥️

GeorgeR28 · 18/12/2023 15:31

@CluelessInLondon i hope so too! My partner feels the same as well so I’m just hoping I wake up tomorrow and feel a bit better. I use two apps, one says 28th the other 29th, let’s hope it doesn’t arrive! What about you? Will you be testing this cycle or just waiting? I’m going to try my absolute hardest to wait, really don’t want a downer on Christmas Day

GeorgeR28 · 18/12/2023 15:31

@Wise0wl im so so sorry ❤️ thinking of you x

CluelessInLondon · 18/12/2023 15:37

@GeorgeR28 According to both of my apps AF is due on the 29th, which would be a 31 day cycle same as last month - before my MC my cycle averaged 30 days so the 28th is a possibility as well. Definitely no early testing for me, I would rather wait and not have the anticipation/anxiety of testing every morning - plus I've got a house full of family until the 27th and I definitely wouldn't want to do it with all of them there! So I'll test on the 30th if no sign of AF. Ignorance is bliss this month as far as I'm concerned! Really hope you feel better soon and it doesn't turn into one of these nasty bugs.

GeorgeR28 · 18/12/2023 15:39

@CluelessInLondon absolutely praying we both get good news this month! My cycles have been 29/30 days since mine, but last month was 27 days. Yeah I think that’s the best way to think about it! I really wouldn’t want the heartbreak around Christmas Eve & day then having to put a brave face on. Thankyou so much! X

HerbaceousPerennial · 18/12/2023 15:45

@Wise0wl I’m glad your MVA was straightforward and the staff were kind. My thoughts are with you. I’m afraid I’ve no experience with private tests but here’s hoping you can get some answers.

@13lucy yes I was diagnosed years ago as I had a phase with no periods at all. The GP just referred me for bloods and the specialist clinic immediately - once I was diagnosed they were great and said when I wanted a baby to come straight to clinic for treatment, but my periods had started by the time we were ready and I thought we may as well try and see. It is frustrating not being able to plan but it has forced me to obsess a bit less than I know I would if I was regular - I hate being out of control 😬

Vic231 · 18/12/2023 15:55

@CluelessInLondon and @GeorgeR28 I'm in the same boat with you guys... AF is due on NYE for me so will be testing around the same time!

@Wise0wl I've not have private fertility testing, but I've had nhs recurrent miscarriage clinic blood tests, have you been put forward for this?

GeorgeR28 · 18/12/2023 16:00

@Vic231 mine was originally due on New Year’s Eve but I ovulated a couple days earlier than my app predicted so it’s changed! Praying for a miracle for us! X

Bugdem123 · 18/12/2023 16:33

@Wise0wl glad it went as well as it can. I haven't had any private tests or anything but my GP recommended a clinic to me if it was something I was worried about. I've decided in my head if we aren't pregnant (successfully) by the summer then I'll make an appointment.

My AF has arrived today and I surprisingly feel content about it. The last 2 periods since my MMC have had days of spotting beforehand and then been really light whereas I haven't had any spotting this cycle and it's much heavier - more like it used to be. This has got me hoping that maybe things have settled down in there a bit and I'm more likely to conceive going forward. Trying to be optimistic!

ThelastRolo20 · 18/12/2023 16:59

@Bugdem123 your cycle going back to normal is a really positive step. When our cycles start doing things out of the norm it's really disconcerting! @Wise0wl I'm glad you had a somewhat positive experience in what is a really difficult time. I also like to take action and feel like I'm moving on, just make sure to look after yourself too. I haven't done private fertility tests but hopefully someone has who can provide some advice x

13lucy · 18/12/2023 17:10

@samilicious thanks for the message. I have booked an appointment with my GP now but it's not until the new year! I did have tests done before I conceived last time but no issues found.

@CluelessInLondon I've got my fingers crossed for you this month! I hope I'm not too far behind with my next ovulation but it is really getting me down and I feel so out of control with it all. I'm envious of your regular cycle!

@HerbaceousPerennial did you have any other symptoms of PCOS at all? My periods stopped for 3 months earlier this year (I think due to physical and mental stress and low body fat) but I managed to conceive on the first ovulation after lifestyle changes to resolve this. It really is so frustrating, I'm trying to not be stressed out but I can't help myself! It's actually driving me a bit crazy and I think it's going to make me more anxious about future cycles. Do you still ovulate each cycle, it just takes longer than 'average'? I feel like I'm missing out on opportunities and worried it will take us longer to conceive because of this.
