@ThelastRolo20 CD22 9DPO over here. Had to go to Flo to check because I'm also balls deep in cognitive dissonance 😂 No real signs of AF but no signs of EP but I guess it's early enough. Ovulated a little early this month, says AF due Friday but could be later. Was it you who said they were going to get back into running? Do you feel up to it yet? I'm trying to get back into exercise too for MH and energy more than anything, not a sporty type

ThelastRolo20 · 13/02/2024 17:30

@samilicious I had so many plans for weekly five Kms but life decided two MCs in 3 months wasn't enough and I'm now on antibiotics for a chest infection 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

HerbaceousPerennial · 13/02/2024 15:23

@Ladyinpink1 @samilicious I’m in the TWW too! Not quite balls deep at 6DPO but I can’t think what the appropriate alternative would be 😂 I don’t think DH and I got our timings quite right but here’s hoping anyway. I was using clear blue and it went flashing smiley, flashing smiley, zero, then static smiley. Zero I think I timed the testing wrong as I got the static smiley later that day.

@Bugdem123 sorry things have been so rough. I know the rage is awful but I do think it’s better out than in. My poor DH has likewise had it in the neck a lot. It has caused arguments which I feel immensely guilty about. Like others have said, be gentle with yourself. And I’m glad it’s not just me with the radioactive pee!

@GeorgeR28 massive congratulations! Hopefully things will get easier as the pregnancy progresses and you can begin to enjoy it a bit.

@NphysT I’m so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you’ve had a really tough time and I hope you are recovering well physically. Fellow PCOS-er here and I feel your pain on the erratic period front. Mine took ages to come back but I have had one now and it looks like I’ve ovulated at a ‘normal’ part of the cycle too 🤞

@Wise0wl physically I'm doing ok, mentally it's a bit hit and miss. Anxiety has been quite bad and I've had a few panic attacks but I'll get there eventually. I feel like having another baby will help but I don't want to replace this baby if that makes sense.
@HerbaceousPerennial how long did it take you to get yours back? Are you taking any supplements? I'm currently taking myoinositol, coq10, alpha lipoic acid, n-acetylcysteine, omega 3 and higher strength vitamin d and folic acid so hoping I'll get my period soon. Its good to hear you ovulated at a normal time this month, 🤞this is your month.
@samilicious thank you, here for you whatever you need too x

Wise0wl · 13/02/2024 19:19

@samilicious tip deep 😂😂😂

does it cross anyone else’s mind ever that it would be so much fun to go our for some wines together? And then I remember that we don’t actually know one another IRL.

ThelastRolo20 · 13/02/2024 19:19

@Wise0wl absolutely - I'm near Milton Keynes if anyone else is 😂

moosey89 · 13/02/2024 19:35

@Wise0wl @samilicious Guildford here, always happy for wine 🤣

ThelastRolo20 · 13/02/2024 19:40

@moosey89 I'm from that neck of the woods, grew up in Petersfield just down the A3 and both my brothers lived in Guildford for a while so spent a lot of time there!

HerbaceousPerennial · 13/02/2024 19:44

@Wise0wl @samilicious @moosey89 @ThelastRolo20 I think this about the wines quite often! Also wonder if I’d twig if I ever bumped into any of you. Edinburgh here so no good to any of you I suspect

HerbaceousPerennial · 13/02/2024 19:51

@NphysT I had retained tissue so that complicated matters for me but it was about 3 and a half months from initial diagnosis of MMC and 7 weeks from negative pregnancy test. I’m just taking pregnancare but that has inositol and coq10 which are the ones I was bothered about from a PCOS perspective. I took inositol before I conceived my son but I was trying for 6 months for him and only had one period in that time. So it can happen even with very erratic periods. I try and remind myself of that but I felt so differently about it all then! I’m also trying to limit sugar in my diet but I’m still eating normally and having the odd glass of wine etc. Just been cutting snacks and unhealthy meals really. Hope you are managing to get the anxiety under control, it’s so tough

GeorgeR28 · 13/02/2024 19:53

@HerbaceousPerennial thankyou so much! Fingers crossed during your two week wait!

Wise0wl · 13/02/2024 20:40

@ThelastRolo20 @samilicious @HerbaceousPerennial @moosey89 outskirts of London here. It half crossed my mind that maybe we knew each other in real life but that’s looking unlikely given locations! I would love to live in Edinburgh.

Wise0wl · 13/02/2024 20:42

@NphysT that makes perfect sense. This is a very safe space, and I think all of us have felt like we don’t know if we’re coming or going, or that the only way out of our loss is to have another baby (but worry that will erase the baby we’ve lost). Do you have support? Is there someone you can talk to?

Ladyinpink1 · 13/02/2024 20:57

Yes we managed to squeeze in a session last night @ThelastRolo20 and @samilicious my ewcm had turned creamy when we dtd then today it's all back and more opk lines... why the complicated cycle! Lol.
I like that quote @ThelastRolo20 life happens while we are waiting, it's so true it really is hard not to put life on hold while ttc x

How are you managing holding out until Friday so far? Are you temped to test or finding it OK? @samilicious oh yes I pick pancakes over romance any day ha ha. We have our child free night away on Friday so looking forward to that. Is your spa day still on hold or will you go either way? x

How lovely @GeorgeR28 🥰 congratulations, how far along are you? So glad you had good news at your scan x

@Wise0wl That's interesting about the size and shrinkage, I didn't know that. So does a flashing smiley mean that you are almost at your peak? (I have only used the cheap ones so not familiar with them x

Ladyinpink1 · 13/02/2024 21:05

@Bugdem123 Rhodes sounds lovely. I'm sorry you have had such a hard time, my dh has been at the end of quite a few emotional outbursts too, I would say almost everyone on here has experienced the same so you are not alone x

@NphysT I'm sorry for your loss. The wait is so tough isn't it, especially when all you want to do is be pregnant again. x

I'm sorry @Herewegoagain0 , and maybe because this is your first cycle things will be a little later than usual, I think that would be quite normal x

OP posts:
GeorgeR28 · 13/02/2024 21:52

@Ladyinpink1 thankyou! I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow. Feeling very sick and sleeping a lot of the days away so everyday is a bit of a struggle at the minute! Good luck for your cycle this month! Praying for good luck all round for us all x

Wise0wl · 13/02/2024 22:02

@Ladyinpink1 flashing smiley means high fertility apparently, so my estrogen is rising. When you get a static smiley it means it’s detected your LH surge and you should dtd in the next 48 hours to be in with the best chance of conceiving. It’s a bit of a faff to be honest but I like that it takes the guess work out of opks!

Sorry that you’re having a complicated cycle (but good you dtd yesterday. Impressive effort!) what CD are you on now? X

Ladyinpink1 · 14/02/2024 08:15

Thank you @GeorgeR28 I hope so too, and I think the tiredness and nausea are good signs of lots of hcg for you. Keep us updated x

Ahh OK @Wise0wl so you should get your peak and day now, you will be in the tww with me then 🙂. I am cd14 (same cd as the date so nice n easy to remember lol) Yes I am glad we got dtd and did last night too just incase. I hope it was enough, but I am feeling hopeful this cycle with it being the first cycle in a long time the same as they used to be. What cd do you normally ovulate? x

moosey89 · 14/02/2024 08:45

Back to 1dpo! This month I don't have a whole heap planned in the 2ww so I'm taking suggestions - anyone got ideas for fun things to do to keep my mind occupied?

13lucy · 15/02/2024 07:36

@moosey89 you're not actually far from me! Now the days are getting longer it's nice to get out on long walks. I also want to go climbing with DH to reconnect and for a bit of fun!

Strange one for me this cycle, I usually ovulate late but I've just had a significant temp rise over the last two days. It's totally caught me off guard as the OPK I did two days ago was negative and I usually have two high/positive OPKs before ovulation. If I have ovulated early (around CD11?!) then we only DTD once in the fertile window and not that close to ovulation. All so confusing and I'm stressing that we might have missed a cycle!

Edited

7 weeks isn't too bad, I'm currently 4 weeks from a negative test so guess its not been that long. How are you doing since the mmc?

I read the book it starts with an egg and this was the recommendation for with pcos. With my pregnancy I just miscarried I was on sukkarto (slow release metformin) and got a regular period with that and think that's what helped us conceive then. GP will no longer prescribe it to me as it was originally prescribed by an endocrinologist so hoping the supplements will help in the meantime.

How have you found limiting sugar? I'd ideally like to lose a stone before we conceive as I've put on a few lbs since we were told about the mmc and had a bit to lose before then.
I think getting out of the house and getting fresh air has been helping a little with the anxiety, work seems to trigger it quite badly at the moment but I have a few days off so that's helped.

It is unfortunately the worst club to be in, but it is good to know we're not alone. My husband is very supportive and the only 1 will talk to this about. We hadn't told many people about the baby yet, had planned to that weekend so I didn't want to share about the mmc with people who didn't know yet.

HerbaceousPerennial · 15/02/2024 14:02

@Wise0wl I do love living in Edinburgh. Except I’d like to be able to afford a house in the area I live in which I definitely can’t 😂 do you know it well? I’ve lived outskirts of London too years ago and that was a lot of fun.

@moosey89 I’m looking for tips too. Lots of walking for me but that only works at the weekends really. I’m considering a jigsaw (inspired by my 2 year old). MAFS Australia is back on soon so that’ll cover evenings!

@13lucy might only take the once! Easier said than done I know but I’m trying to be more phlegmatic about timings - fingers crossed an early ovulation is a good start so might not matter that you’ve not DTD as much

@NphysT thanks 😊 I’m very mixed to be honest. Started counselling recently so hoping that will help. I am feeling positive at the moment but can easily tip into a very dark mindset. How are you managing? The sugar thing I’ve not found too bad, probably because I’ve decided to just make small changes. I did find a whole PCOS diet but I knew I wouldn’t stick to it, it meant basically no carbs and hardly any dairy. It felt like punishment. I do generally eat well, lots of whole grains, vegetables, fish, home cooking etc. So all I’ve really done is stop eating white bread, cake and biscuits which felt quite manageable. Although I did have a flapjack earlier now I think about it… as a general point I decided I needed to be kind to myself and enjoy life and that was more important. I beat myself up about the miscarriage so much so without sounding too hippy I’m trying to just care for my body and help it be strong and nourished with quality food, gentle exercise etc.

13lucy · 15/02/2024 20:22

@HerbaceousPerennial that's what I'm hoping! So strange to go from ovulating on CD19-23 and now potentially CD11. Pretty certain my temperature is going to stay high tomorrow and I'm going to have to try and bring forward my blood tests. Funny how I've been slightly more chilled about all the testing this month and it bites me on the arse with an early ovulation!

Does anyone have any idea when I would have ovulated and whether I'm too far out with DTD on Monday? I think it will put it at CD11 but I had a negative OPK that day. I didn't do OPK test yesterday but when I did one tonight it was fairly high so I think yesterday might have been the peak. I'm so confused!

@HerbaceousPerennial One of my besties lived there for a bit after uni which was a great excuse to visit! I’ve always said I’d like to do more holidays in Scotland generally but I never have enough holiday to do what I want with it 😂

@13lucy I’m afraid I know literally nothing about temping so I’m hopeful someone else can come along and help out 🤞

@moosey89 I love a jigsaw, which I also find helpful for staying off my phone/MN/Google etc. In the TWW I try and do a bit of a sort out of a cupboard or something for the same reason - feels satisfying and keeps me off my phone! I realise that might not be as fun a suggestion as you were looking for though…!

samilicious · 15/02/2024 21:34

How do you ladies track BBT? I used to use Natural Cycles and have a thermometer, but I'm awake too much in the night for it to work now I think. Do any smart watches do it accurately enough?

@ThelastRolo20 oh nooo! Definitely time to rest up and take it easy. I was so depressed after my first MC that I did couch to 5k and gave myself weird digestion problems running on a really full stomach all the time. Thought I was channeling grief into something positive but think it was just weird self punishment 😅 not that it has to be that way, but deffo could to take stock before putting a load of energy into something else

@Wise0wl hell yes on the wine thing 🙌🏻
Cheshire here - love how spread out we are!

@Ladyinpink1 the last few months I think all my hopeful days get shorter and less tempted to early test. A few months ago I had loads of symptoms and was a bit late and convinced myself and spent a fortune on tests and was floored when it turned out to be nothing so better for me to live in ignorance I think. Amazing effort on your dtd efforts! Things are definitely going I. The right direction for you

@moosey89 something really stressful or out of your comfort zone socially usually takes up all my headspace 🤪 not sure I advise that though for ttc health reasons. The best way I've been unwinding lately is reading. I use my local library and pay to reserve books a hear about on podcasts etc. Taylor Jenkins Reid is brilliant. Also just spending time alone for relaxation. And sorry if this is TMI but also randomly bought a sex toy from an influencer I follow because I heard it was good for mental health and I must say there's something in it. Especially when TTC takes the fun out of DTD
