@Haylsttc thankyou so much 🤍 so scared to test again tomorrow but I will keep you posted x

Ladyinpink1 · 25/01/2024 17:34

Yes we need the good news 🙂! @GeorgeR28 but yes I do think it really is a nice line, and it's normal to be worried, pretty sure I took about 50 tests last time to watch the line.
I think the hcg can double every second day so if you are going to keep testing, maybe you would get a better result comparing saturdays with todays rather than Fridays? x

@Ladyinpink1 Thankyou! Yeah that’s a good point actually & I am actually due on on Saturday. Annoyingly my partner is away this weekend so I’m going to have to sit on this info until he’s home 🥲 I think if I test tomorrow and the lines are darker I’ll tell him before he goes but if not I’ll keep to myself till it’s more certain

Haylsttc · 25/01/2024 17:54

@ThelastRolo20 I think taking a break is a good idea, my miscarriage was in June and my cycles didn’t return to their normal length until November! I’m also very impatient, my other half is very much a ‘it will happen when it happens’ kind of person whereas I’m a ‘it has to happen immediately’ kind of person 😂

@GeorgeR28 I have my fingers crossed for you ❤️ I’d struggle to keep it to myself, when I got my positive test in April it had the faintest line and I showed my other half, mind he thought it was negative as the line was so faint to begin with! I had to get a digital to show him 😂

@Ladyinpink1 I’m also intrigued about aspirin and progesterone! I’m hoping to get progesterone when I next get a bfp but might have to go private to get it as I’ve heard regular GPs can sometimes be reluctant to prescribe it!

GeorgeR28 · 25/01/2024 18:37

@Haylsttc i know right I’m finding it so hard to not say anything! Typically I would but I don’t want to get his hopes up before he goes away and then it be such a disappointment 😞 if you don’t mind me asking how many days dpo did you do your digital?

Haylsttc · 25/01/2024 18:51

@GeorgeR28 I understand what you mean, maybe you could do a nice surprise for him when he gets back instead. I wasn’t tracking ovulation when I got pregnant I just knew I was pregnant early as I had symptoms I’d never experienced before. However, now that I do track ovulation, I’ve looked back at the dates and I would have been around 10dpo when I got the positive digital! It was one of those clear blue six day early digitals though not the week’s ones 😊

ThelastRolo20 · 25/01/2024 18:54

@Haylsttc I'm very much the same 😂 my husband is far more relaxed about it than I am. I'm fretting about age gaps and he told me today he didn't care at all! I suppose it's easier when it's not on your mind everyday.

Good to know about cycles. I'm hoping mine return to normal within 3 months or so so we're ready for April. They immediately went back to normal last time but then I had a natural miscarriage so maybe that makes a difference compared to surgical management?

GeorgeR28 · 25/01/2024 19:01

@Haylsttc i bought a Digital today and boots own brand. A few months ago i had a flash positive with a digital before my second hysteroscopy for my MC. (Technically it wasn’t a false positive it was picking up the tiny bits of hcg I had left but still traumatised me nonetheless because I got so excited) So basically that’s why I’m so terrified to get excited now!

GeorgeR28 · 25/01/2024 19:31

@Haylsttc *false positive

Haylsttc · 25/01/2024 19:37

@GeorgeR28 I’ve heard the boots own brand early detection ones are good! That must have been so gutting about the digital in the past. I think it all depends on when you implant to how dark lines are/ when you get a positive digital. Some people implant as early as 7dpo but others not till 10 or 11 dpo so it’s hard to compare 😊 Perhaps if you wanted to be on the safe side you could leave the digital to Saturday then it’s been 48 hours since your first positive!

Haylsttc · 25/01/2024 19:40

@ThelastRolo20 yeah its much more difficult for us not to stress as we’re the ones doing all of the tracking!

I think it just depends on each person how long it takes to go back to normal as some people get pregnant straight away. I do also believe stress has a lot to do with it too as I know that can mess up cycles and I was very stressed and worked up in the first few months following the miscarriage! Pregnacare also helped regulate mine too 😊

GeorgeR28 · 25/01/2024 19:51

@Haylsttc it was so ridiculously unlucky, it was after my first D&C and all my other tests had been negative but it was a first reponse digital it must have been so so sensitive! But yeah I will deffo save the digital for as long as possible & try the boots home in the morning. Thankyou! X

Wise0wl · 25/01/2024 20:14

@ThelastRolo20 am I right in remembering you have a 3yo? I do, and also fret about age gaps a lot (and I’ve definitely had this conversation with someone else on here). It’s hard, but i know close age gaps don’t equal close relationships necessarily, so I’ve had a stern word with myself to focus on having another DC, whenever they might arrive.

ThelastRolo20 · 25/01/2024 20:21

@Wise0wl she's just turned 2 so I'm being utterly ridiculous. I think it's because when I first got pregnant last July I started imaging them together.

But then I know there's loads of benefits to her being 3/4 when baby 2 is born 😊 I'm 34 and husband is 38 so there's also our ages to consider. Makes me nervous about egg quality but could equally just be bad luck I know

Wise0wl · 25/01/2024 21:50

@ThelastRolo20 I get it! I also have been known to go down a rabbit hole of ‘if only we’d tried sooner’ but I know that’s not helpful!

HerbaceousPerennial · 25/01/2024 22:45

@GeorgeR28 congratulations! That’s looking good to me 😊 think it’s natural to feel a bit cautious. Nice to have some good news - hopefully this’ll be a good month for lots of us.

@samilicious 😂😂😂😂 if it’s possible the playlist is even worse than the spread… I’m still coming though 💃 sorry stuff’s feeling a lot. Some days I just think are about getting through them until a better one comes along. Sending hugs.

@Wise0wl i don’t envy you with SMEP. DH and I were trying to DTD every other day and honestly we were both so grumpy. Dropped to every 3 and that feels more manageable but I live in fear of missing an egg. Just going to enjoy my enforced break!

@ThelastRolo20 I’ve a friend who got pregnant three weeks after me and we were planning our mat leaves together - our firsts are close in age too. I love her but her pregnancy is killing me. I empathise wholeheartedly - trying so hard not to let it affect our friendship. It’s hard and I feel awful about it.

@Ladyinpink1 thanks. I’m going to get some cheap ovulation sticks and just going to test every day starting about a week after AF finishes I think. BBT is trickier with PCOS as there are more fluctuations - plus I think I’ll mess it up! Good luck with trying to hold off testing - sending willpower and also hope this month is your month!

GoldDustWoman90 · 26/01/2024 14:45

Ladies - I'm absolutely convincing myself this is line eyes or an evap...

I'm 12dpo, stark white yesterday. This was stark white within 5 minutes but had breakfast then came back to this and seen something?

I've never had an evap before so don't know what they look like! I heard that evaps don't show on an invert as they don't have colour to them. What do you think? How are Easy@Home for evap lines?

Gosh I hate this! Why can't I just wait 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 26/01/2024 15:12

Oo @GoldDustWoman90 that's a hard one! I do know some people have had evaps on those that have looked similar, and it didn't appear within 5 mins.

That said it's obvious to see! So annoying but all you can do is wait another day and test again! Or hold wee for a few hours 😂

I really hope it's positive for you x

Ladyinpink1 · 26/01/2024 15:42

@Haylsttc and @Wise0wl I created a thread and got a few replies RE the asprin, I will tag you so you can see x

I wonder how much it would cost to get it privately, worth asking your gp first just incase. I got my prescription fron the epu to get from gp if I ever get a bfp @Haylsttc x

@HerbaceousPerennial That sounds like a good plan, my friend with irregular cycles who is ttc does the same and she has been able to pinpoint ovulation this way x

Ooh, I see a line! @GoldDustWoman90 hoping it gets clearer in the next day or two for you. Could you get a furst response or boots own test to try? x

ThelastRolo20 · 26/01/2024 15:51

@Ladyinpink1 could you tag me too re the aspirin? I think I'm going to take 75mg a day in the next pregnancy x

Wise0wl · 26/01/2024 16:43

@Haylsttc i was told if you’ve had a previous loss (I think of any kind?) and have spotting in your next pregnancy, they should prescribe progesterone. Most EPUs will want to do this after a viability scan at 6 weeks. Definitely worth chatting to your GP in advance x

Haylsttc · 26/01/2024 18:27

@GoldDustWoman90 Ooo I’m not sure looks like a line to me but if it didn’t show up in the time limit I’d definitely take another tomorrow morning to be sure! Got my fingers crossed for you 😊

@Ladyinpink1 I’ve been reading your other thread about the aspirin a few positive stories! I am tempted to give it a try when I get a positive, seems very much like a ‘might help, wont hurt’ thing so worth a try 🤞

@Ladyinpink1 @Wise0wl I might book an appointment with my GP next week to see what they say! As I’d want it before the six week mark just in case. I’ve also read about some people paying private to get the prescription but then getting their GP to prescribe it after a fertility specialist has agreed they think you need it. When I had my missed miscarriage I was with emergency gynaecology not the EPU so if I did have any issues next time I would go to the hospital near me which has the EPU instead I think! Obviously hopefully there wouldn’t be any issues next time around 🤞 but good to be prepared 😊

Bugdem123 · 26/01/2024 19:19

I hope you're all doing well!

@GeorgeR28 that looks positive to me! I've got everything crossed you're going to show us a blazing positive soon.

@Haylsttc you've basically described my husband and me; I need it to happen now and my husband is so chilled and relaxed 😅

@ThelastRolo20 @Wise0wl I've found myself thinking a lot about "I wish we'd started trying earlier"; like you say it's a dangerous rabbit hole and doesn't help at all.

I'm on CD12 and got a positive strip OPK and a peak clear blue digital. It's a bit early, although I have had a similar cycle so I'm trying not to read too much into it. Managed to DTD yesterday, today and we should manage tomorrow and Sunday.

I've also made an appointment with a counsellor who specialises in pregnancy loss for next week. I'm hoping talking everything through with someone helps me cope a bit better and feel more like myself.

How are you all getting on?

ThelastRolo20 · 26/01/2024 19:42

@Bugdem123 sounds like you're making some really positive steps, it's great you're going to see someone ❤️ sorry your cycle seems a bit shorter, they really do the weird and wonderful don't they.

My husband just had the audacity to say last night with our toddler was uncomfortable. I did offer to exchange him my night sweats and heavy bleeding 😂😂

Wise0wl · 26/01/2024 22:42

Lovely to hear from you @Bugdem123, I’m on CD14 and ovulated early this month according to tests, so as we’ve done SMEP am (thankfully!) on our night off before dtd ‘for luck’ tomorrow. Then we wait. So glad you have some MH support in place, I’ve also got an appointment in the next few weeks as I generally feel fine apart from bursts of rage about the unfairness of it all, and occasional frantic googling into possible reasons why. Which indicates some support is needed! How are you feeling?

@ThelastRolo20 🤦‍♀️to your DH! I’m not usually one to make excuses but I found I really had to spell out what I was physically going through after my MVAs, my DH just couldn’t quite comprehend it. Hope the bleeding and night sweats ease off over the coming days so you can focus on you and your recovery x
