@123456789ss hello, welcome to the thread but sorry you’re in a position where you need to be. It’s the club no one wants to be in!!

I took over a year to conceive the baby which I lost in August. I have PCOS and it took some time to go through the process of fertility testing etc (though a lot less time than for some!). I conceived on my third cycle of letrozole.

It took over 2 months for my period to come back after the loss, I was really pulling my hair out as it felt it would never end. Eventually I ovulated (on day 57!) and then had a period. I then went back on the letrozole and conceived first cycle - so a total of 3 months since the loss.

I think I read all these stories online about people conceiving the first cycle after a loss, and was just so desperate to be pregnant again, that I found it so so hard when my period just refused to come back, it felt like my body was going into hibernation. Ultimately though I think we need to be patient with our bodies (easier said than done!!) and I think mine just needed a bit of time to recover from something traumatic.

really hope things start looking up for you soon, loss is really so difficult. ❤️

Thanks so much @graceinc22 ☺️
You're right, I need to see how my body heals and not get ahead of myself. I think I'm also building myself up for disappointment if it doesn't happen straight away. 😞

Ladyinpink1 · 23/01/2024 19:16

@HerbaceousPerennial @Wise0wl lol well let's see if the pineapple does us any good, heres hoping! 🙂 x

That's good @Haylsttc I'm glad it helped, and being 2dpo is great! Hope you are having a lovely time away.

A regular cycle is a good sign now for you, hoping it has made you feel more reasurred x

I'm so sorry for your loss @123456789ss understand the desire to be pregnant again also, this is a thread full of lovely ladies, all happy to give support , I'm sure you will find it really helpful, and hopefully get some giggles too.
For me, it took 5 cycles to concieve after my loss, unfortunately that ended in another loss in August so I am now on cycle 5 again of trying and i'm hoping so much this month! x

Glad the pregnacare has helped you @Haylsttc! I’ve found that it’s slightly lengthened my short cycles after MVA.

Welcome @123456789ss and I’m so sorry for your loss. I got pregnant three cycles after my first MMC, but then had a second MMC. Am now on cycle 2 since that one. How are you feeling?

Wise0wl · 23/01/2024 22:02

Can I ask if any of you who have used the CB ovulation tests have ever gone straight from a blank circle to a static smiley? I had three days of blank circles and then this morning straight to a static smiley, no flashing smileys. Never had this before so not sure why!

samilicious · 23/01/2024 22:23

@Wise0wl yes! I didn't test the day before, it was 2 days / 36hrs before but went from nothing to static then. Glad it wasn't just me. And deffo right - life shouldn't be on hold

@moosey89 so sorry your due dates are coming up - the more time goes on the sadder I feel about my most recent loss, not sure if it's similar for you. Whatever you need to get through it - distraction, taking time to feel all the feelings or a mixture of both - hope you get the time and space you need to do that. It's a year from my TFMR and it's hit me more than ever before. Actually made me want to look back at scan pics we didn't even want initially. All part of the horrible grieving process, the price we pay for getting that love if only for a few weeks eh x

@Ladyinpink1 AF arrived exactly on time first thing this morning. Woke up so excited (no sign), an hour later... 🙄 I actually allowed myself to get a tiny bit optimistic yesterday. What a fool. Deffo going to get one from Sainsos next time I go past. When is your AF due?

@HerbaceousPerennial imagine a TTC party spread 😂 seeds, pineapple core and pomegranate juice to drink? What a riot!

@Haylsttc glad you're feeling better and hormones are in check!

@123456789ss welcome and sorry to hear what you've been through in your journey so far. It took me 14 months from my first MC to conceive DD which was a healthy pregnancy, and only last 7 months of that time was properly trying. Then got pregnant when DD was 18 months, had a TFMR due to severe Patau at 16 weeks (gestation size a few weeks behind the actual age so I was able to have a MVA). That was a year ago and been properly TTC for last 8 months now. I'm only almost 33 but got told main risk factor for Patau was age so not feeling amazing about time passing by either 😅 feel you on that x

Ladyinpink1 · 23/01/2024 22:43

@samilicious oh no, i'm so sorry AF arrived, especially when you had that hour of real hope this morning. You are not a fool, it's good that your are hopeful, and it will happen, you are still young and nice and healthy... I just read your comment on your journey so far, you have had a really tough time of it and so you definitely deserve good news soon. Sending hugs and hope you can get some time to chill and have lots of chocolate. It should be due next Tuesday or Wednesday.

P.s remind me never to come to a party at your house 😆 x

Does everyone take Pregnacare or anyone any alternatives? I had been talking Together Health Pregnancy/TTC ones then switched back to the ones I'd taken before conceiving DD (Cytoplan 🤢) because they have a high overall vitamin amount. They're so rank though and I'm sure the vitamin quantity has gone down since then

GeorgeR28 · 23/01/2024 22:45

Hi everyone, I’m sorry I didn’t reply to anyone’s previous messages, I had to take some time off as this month I passed my due date and it was the day I was absolutely dreading. I hope everyone is doing okay and if their due dates are approaching I’m really thinking of you. If it helps, the world didn’t end, I didn’t have a breakdown and it really was just another day of the week to get through. Strangely enough it’s almost a relief now. The worst has happened to me and the worst again so really what else can happen now that I cant get through.

@ThelastRolo20 I am incredibly sorry and I’m thinking of you, you are so brave ❤️

Wise0wl · 23/01/2024 22:54

@samilicious ok glad it’s not just me/that I’ve broken the test somehow! Sorry AF has arrived, and more so that it arrived when there was a tiny bit of hope. How are you feeling? I take Pregnacare conception, CoQ10 and a random ‘intimate health’ probiotic as I figured it wouldn’t hurt after having had two MVAs in a short space. Mulling over taking aspirin from ovulation, not sure if anyone has tried this?

@GeorgeR28 well done on reaching and passing such a milestone, I hope you’re doing ok. My upcoming one is on my mind a lot. Hope you’re ok x

GeorgeR28 · 23/01/2024 23:18

@Wise0wl thankyou so much. I’d built it up so much in my head the idea of it was actually worse than the reality. Just tried to keep myself busy all day. I hope you’re doing okay too, here for you especially for the upcoming date. You’ve got this x

ThelastRolo20 · 24/01/2024 07:55

@GeorgeR28 well done for getting through the day so well. I know now I won't be pregnant when that day comes around which is difficult. I can only hope I'm pregnant by the second date in August.

I think from seeing others posts it takes about 3 months for an egg to mature - which is good timing as I'm having 3 months off. I'm going to order some of those Q10 tablets or whatever they are as I see them mentioned. Does anyone else have any recommendations? I'm hesitant to take full on conception/ fertility vitamins as I've heard they can mess with cycles?

ThelastRolo20 · 24/01/2024 07:56

@Wise0wl I've heard different things about taking aspirin in pregnancy, I know it can really help some people - maybe it depends on why we're miscarrying?

I think I've just had 2 unlucky eggs in a row so going to focus on getting those to best quality over the next three months before April/ May's attempts x

SnookyPook · 24/01/2024 08:53

@ThelastRolo20 I'm convinced my repeat losses were egg quality. I started taking CoQ10 last September and fingers crossed the late November conception seems to be sticking so maybe it helped?! In terms of prenatals I just took folic acid and Vit D (which apparently can play a big role in MC too).

I'll be taking aspirin from week 12 due to familial risk of preeclampsia and pregnancy related hypertension. I believe it can help from earlier if you have antiphospholipid syndrome (think that's the name?!) where your blood is 'sticky' as can impact implantation etc - I think it's one of the first things they check for recurrent loss.

@GeorgeR28 well done for getting past your milestone. It's a weird time isn't it. Mine passed by in a weird blur as I was actually miscarrying again at the time and was in for the scan that confirmed it on my original due date!! Couldn't have made it up. I do think I found it helpful for a bit of closure to be past the date though.

ThelastRolo20 · 24/01/2024 08:57

@SnookyPook thank you - okay the q10 tablets/ folic acid/ vit D it is!

HerbaceousPerennial · 24/01/2024 11:25

@samilicious a TFMR sounds unbelievably tough. It’s never foolish to hope - it’s what we all do every single time and I think it’s a sign of strength and bravery to keep doing that. In which vein, I’m adding pomegranate on to my list as well now, and we’ll have a riot at our TTC party! 🥳

@Wise0wl @ThelastRolo20 I’m just taking folic acid and vit D at the moment which I was given for my last pregnancy by the midwife so using them up. I psych myself out with the pregnacare because my cycles are so long anyway the idea of lengthening them even further is not ideal. But they contain inositol which is excellent for PCOS and which I did take before conceiving my son so should help. Also I have a load a friend gave me and who doesn’t like free stuff?

@SnookyPook convinced my MMC was egg quality too. That’s useful about coq10, thanks.

Had some spotting last night and this morning. Realistically I suspect it’s AF but of course I’ve been googling ovulation bleeding and implantation bleeding. Either way it must be good news as it means I’ve ovulated somewhere along the line, which would give me a roughly normal cycle this time around of about 27 days I think - very unusual for me but good news!

Hope everyone is doing ok today, especially everyone wrestling with due dates. Welcome @123456789ss although sorry you find yourself here.

ThelastRolo20 · 24/01/2024 11:57

@HerbaceousPerennial that's good your cycle is hopefully more normal (if AF does show!)

I don't have PCOS and I'm lucky with straight forward cycles so I'm going to skip any of the other bits and pieces 😊

Of course who knows what will happen after surgical management! I have no discomfort today, and no bleeding...so doesn't even feel like I've had a procedure. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. So far I've rage cleaned the house and taken the dog for a walk!

HerbaceousPerennial · 24/01/2024 14:25

@ThelastRolo20 whoops yes sorry, I have PCOS and was rambling on to myself about why I should take them 🤦🏻‍♀️ not helpful to you at all there! Sorry.

Glad you’ve no pain after your surgery. I find a rage clean very cathartic plus the benefit of a nice clean house. Hope you are doing ok

Wise0wl · 24/01/2024 18:34

@ThelastRolo20 I’m so glad you’re physically feeling ok, and a rage clean is very much in line with my coping mechanisms! Do you have any nice plans during your three months off TTC?

ThelastRolo20 · 24/01/2024 18:47

@Wise0wl it's therapeutic isn't it! I did give up 3/4 of the way in though. Kitchen and dining room to do 😂

Well I'm going to take vitamins to hopefully improve egg quality, and try to pick up some exercise again (specifically running) then do some retail therapy for some holiday outfits. Aiming to lose 3/4 pounds by mid April for hols. Currently 10st9lbs so should be doable!

I'm also going to retrain as a secondary school maths teacher in the next 5 or so years (hopefully after baby 2 has made an appearance!) So I'm working my way through a GCSE textbook so I can maybe do tutoring in the meantime.

I'm trying to make sure the next three months are positive in any way I can. I don't want to wish away my life in search of baby 2 ❤️ and hopefully by the time April/ may comes around I'm in the best place possible to start again. We're very fortunate that it's only taken 1/2 cycles each time to conceive, just need the right egg and sperm (so husband is receiving vitamins too 😂)

Sorry for the essay! I do love a plan though xx

Wise0wl · 24/01/2024 21:10

@ThelastRolo20 oh wow! Do you do anything related to teaching/maths at the moment, or will this be a big change? How exciting.

I also love a plan (you and I aren’t alone in that on this thread, I think) and your plan for three months off sounds lovely. I know for my MH that I probably should have a break, but am going to give it a go for the next couple of cycles and see what happens.

Unsure what to do about aspirin because my clotting tests need to be redone, but if I do take it I think I should start in the next couple of days (as I’m ovulating today/tomorrow). So much of this feels like we’re playing such a delicate game of chance with no way of knowing what’s helping and what’s not!

Ladyinpink1 · 25/01/2024 07:54

@Wise0wl asprin is on my mind constantly because after my last loss I researched everything, and one of the common things people had in successful pregnancys after recurrent losses was asprin and progesterone. And I keep thinking if I get a bfp, will I take it but then also I'm scared to take it incase it has a bad effect but then scared not to incase it is exactly what I need. Sorry that hasn't provided any clarity, just my asprin dilemma thoughts lol. x

Hi @GeorgeR28 nice to see your name, hope you are well and I'm glad you feel relieved to pass the due date, hoping good news is coming your way very soon x

@ThelastRolo20 These are the coq10 I take from Amazon...
https://amzn.eu/d/6VU9lLT my husband also takes them as they can improve sperm quality too so all good healthy sperm ready to fertilise.
I also take a tonne of vitamins but all separately. If you want to know any of the others I can create you a list (it's long though lol) I love your plans, I also need to plan ahead to feel ok about things. And the new job sounds amazing, you must be clever to do that, and a big new change is an exciting thing x

@HerbaceousPerennial how are you today? Has the spotting changed any? x

ThelastRolo20 · 25/01/2024 08:39

Thank you @Ladyinpink1 😊

I'm going to stick with the coq10/ folic acid/ vit D daily tablets. Hoping they all make a positive impact for 3/4 months time.

Feels like a lifetime until I'll be starting again (we agreed we'd wait for a cycle that starts at least half way through April. My husband is an accountant and wants to avoid another year end baby 😂). Just keep trying to tell myself that it'll be here before I know it. I really hope that by the time I restart all of you lovely ladies have migrated over to the pregnancy boards ❤️

graceinc22 · 25/01/2024 08:54

@ThelastRolo20 love that about your husband, made me laugh, mine is also an accountant! Though he does the monthly management accounts so has “month end” every month… not sure we can avoid that 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 25/01/2024 09:06

@graceinc22 ha! So nice someone feels my pain about month end. Then there's pre month end, and after month end. It's half the bloody month 😂 but yes, no avoiding those dates entirely! Our daughter is 3rd Jan though which is slightly less than ideal 🤦‍♀️ hence avoiding early Jan if possible
