Hi everyone. A bit of a mixed bag - they found a strong heartbeat! Couldn't believe but I say mixed bag as I'm measuring so small still - only 3.7mm when I should be around 7 weeks 4/5 days. That measurement is around the 6 week mark - they didn't seem as concerned about that but I'm only cautiously optimistic, at least there was a heartbeat? Rescan in 2 weeks

graceinc22 · 09/01/2024 13:08

@ThelastRolo20 great news, so pleased to hear there was a heartbeat - a massive turnaround from what it looked like last week. Hopefully baby will keep growing and you’ll have your mind fully put at rest in 2 weeks x

moosey89 · 09/01/2024 13:52

@ThelastRolo20 was there much growth since the last scan?x

ThelastRolo20 · 09/01/2024 14:05

@moosey89 about a week or even slightly less so within the realms of possibility but it's making me uneasy.

Just have to get through the next two weeks

moosey89 · 09/01/2024 14:36

@ThelastRolo20 I'll be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed xx

ThelastRolo20 · 09/01/2024 14:40

@moosey89 thank you 😊. I just keep telling myself that today I am pregnant and there's a chance. Stranger things have happened.

I consider myself pregnant until someone tells me otherwise! X

Oxalis00 · 09/01/2024 15:06

@ThelastRolo20 What a surprise! If last week you measured two weeks behind what you thought, and today just a week, that sounds promising…? It must be very difficult to be accurate when you’re literally talking mm on a fuzzy screen. Could you have ovulated a bit later maybe? Everything crossed for you. The waiting must be so hard but your positive attitude is great :) x

ThelastRolo20 · 09/01/2024 15:17

@Oxalis00 thank you! It's so hard. I think last week I was 6w5 days and I measured 5w2d so about 1w3d behind.

Today I'm about 7w4d and baby measured around 6 weeks. Technically less than 6 weeks as the threshold for dating is 4mm and baby currently measures 3.7mm. so call it 5w6d or so. So the difference is roughly 1w5d so tracking about the same, if not slightly behind.

It's so difficult as I'm comparing a private and NHS scan, and she said that another sonogropher could come in and measure it a mm or so bigger just by where they put the points on the screen. I have to try and not worry about it - I can't do anything about it and just have to hope that baby hangs in there and has a massive growth spurt!

CluelessInLondon · 09/01/2024 15:32

@ThelastRolo20 That's good news, even if it doesn't completely alleviate your worries - there's been some growth and there's a heartbeat and that's a positive thing for today. ❤

I'm CD14 today and have been completely thrown by my OPKs being much stronger than they usually are for this point in my cycle, to the point that I've just done one and it looks like I'm heading for peak already - my last two cycles I've hit peak on CD17 so that's a bit of a surprise. I'll do another one this evening but it makes me wonder if I'm in for a shorter than usual cycle (I've only had one cycle less than 29 days since I came off the pill last spring so I've got used to 29/30 days being the norm). Would be a pain if I am as I'm going on holiday on the 20th and was banking on AF not being due until the very end of my trip!

An anecdote to make you giggle as well, especially those of you like me who take your OPKs to work - I was in a hurry to get back to my desk after doing my test this afternoon, so I quickly snapped a picture of the strip and then wrapped it up and chucked it in the bin. Got back to my desk and tried to upload it to Premom, thought the line looked a bit faint and realised the picture was this morning's test and the one I'd just taken hadn't saved - I had to run back to the toilets, hope nobody was in there at the time and fish it out of the bin to take the picture again! 😂

ThelastRolo20 · 09/01/2024 15:42

@CluelessInLondon ah yes, the OPKs at work are always a fun task 😂 really hope AF doesn't interrupt your holiday, or even better it doesn't come at all!

Guess all you can do is keep testing to try and catch the peak x

Bugdem123 · 09/01/2024 16:42

@ThelastRolo20 how confusing for you! But it's good news for today and it seems like you have a really good attitude towards it - you're pregnant today 🩷

@CluelessInLondon I've been so lucky wfh that I haven't had to do this yet but I'm now in the office 2 days a week so I'll be sneaking to the toilet soon too. Can just picture the sneaking back and having to rummage in the bin 😂. It's annoying when it comes early especially when it means you'll likely be coming on on holiday but fingers crossed this is the cycle you won't!

I'm now 8DPO and having to fight the urge to symptom spot. If I'm being really honest with myself I don't have any symptoms that I wouldn't normally have at this stage of my cycle, and anyone's boobs would be sore if they kept prodding them to see if they were sore 😂. I'd like to pretend I'm going to wait until Sunday to test but realistically I'm testing tomorrow just so it's negative and I can forget about it for the rest of the day. It's the "what ifs" driving me mad this week. Just about to head into my first CrossFit type class since August so I'm sure that'll help me forget for an hour or so.

HerbaceousPerennial · 09/01/2024 18:00

@ThelastRolo20 that is good news! Keeping everything crossed for you but sounds like you have plenty of reason to be cautiously optimistic, things are moving in the right direction and when everything is so tiny it’s easy for them to be slightly off, so it does sound very hopeful

@CluelessInLondon this made me laugh!

@Bugdem123 I’m with you on the symptom spotting. My first symptom with both pregnancies was a raging thirst in the middle of the night. Any time I’m thirsty in the night now I get a bit excited but I think I just need to drink more before bed and stop getting my hopes up 😂

Wise0wl · 09/01/2024 19:16

@ThelastRolo20 I have everything crossed for you! What a turnaround!

@CluelessInLondon 😂 I am not cut out for the OPK life!

I’m 21 days since my MVA, but although we dtd a few times in the past week, I’m not holding out any hope (maybe a very tiny secret bit, but I can’t be alone in that?!) and am going to approach next month with more vigour. Pregnancy announcements seem to be surrounding me in all aspects of my life atm which I’m finding especially tough.

CluelessInLondon · 09/01/2024 19:30

Glad to have given you all a laugh with my bin-rooting antics. 😂Looks like today is my peak - just done another OPK and it's back to being fairly faint, but I did a digital one as well and it's gone straight to static smiley face. I didn't even think that was possible, I thought it had to be blank for the first use in a cycle. Better tell hubby he's on duty again tonight!

@Bugdem123 Good luck for the start of testing tomorrow - it's so hard not to symptom spot and convince yourself that everything could be early pregnancy.

@Wise0wl Totally understandable that you've got that sliver of hope even if you haven't been actively "trying" this time round. It's the hope that keeps us going even after loss. ❤

ThelastRolo20 · 09/01/2024 19:31

Thank you everyone, the support means so much as not many people know in real life!

@Wise0wl I completely understand the having a bit of hope even when you think it's unlikely x

GoldDustWoman90 · 09/01/2024 21:01

So I'm now 13 days past the day I first started bleeding at 5w exactly.

Today all day I have the most horrific left sided pain....I phoned the EPU in a tizz thinking they might have missed an ectopic (instead of a regular miscarriage').....they've assured me as I have a negative pregnancy test it cannot be ectopic.

Phew. What they did tell me however, is that this could be just an 'aggressive ovulation'.....I'm sorry, what?! Hmm

Has anyone else experienced this so soon after a mc? A high amount of pain? Seems about a 'normal' time for me to ovulate but this is sooo painful! I was almost doubled over at one point, but it did then fade in and out pretty quickly.

I also have an absurd amount of ewcm. It was always an issue before....always used pre-seed lube as I thought I was too dry down there. Now it's like a slip and slide 😂

Guessing this would be a good time to DTD?!

Ladyinpink1 · 09/01/2024 21:32

@ThelastRolo20 That's great news that there was a strong heartbeat, but emotionally i can inagine it's been tough. I'm sorry you have had so much uncertainty and I hope that things continue to progress well and you have more good news in 2 weeks at the next scan. x

Lol @CluelessInLondon I'm glad you managed to fish it out of the bin without getting caught. And great you have a strong result starting. x

@Bugdem123 I hope your class went well, and hoping for good news for you in the morning! x

@GoldDustWoman90 I haven't heard of this but thinking it's a good thing, and yes, def a good time to dtd! x

Ladyinpink1 · 09/01/2024 21:50

Sorry it's been tough, announcements really are hard @Wise0wl as cluesless mentioned, we need hope each cycle.
This is cycle 5 since my last loss and 5 cycles is the longest it's taken for us previously... and I know realistically it could quite easily take another 5, but I do feel the need for it to happen more this one and think it will be very tough if/when it doesn't Because I will be passing that 5 month mark if that makes sense. So lots of hope from me this cycle 🙂 x

SnookyPook · 10/01/2024 00:45

@ThelastRolo20 oh wow! Growth and heartbeat are definitely reasons for hope. Everything crossed for you. These early measurements really are so tentative! I've measured 1 week behind expected at both my early scans so far so think I must have ovulated/implanted late. Really hope things keep progressing for you. Love the mantra 'today I am pregnant'. It's so hard but holding onto hope is all we can do!! 💕

Outliers · 10/01/2024 01:15

Very positive they found a heartbeat. Fingers crossed fetus continues grow and flourish!

CluelessInLondon · 10/01/2024 12:32

@GoldDustWoman90 Can't say I've ever had "aggressive ovulation", but maybe it means you are extra-fertile?!

@Ladyinpink1 Keeping fingers crossed for you that this is your cycle - I know what you mean about hitting that milestone of reaching the number of cycles it took to get pregnant previously. I caught on the 4th cycle last year and next month will be the 4th cycle trying since my MC so there's a definite feeling of that being how long it "should" take, even though rationally I know that's not how it works!

@Bugdem123 Any joy with the test this morning?

I'm trying to decide whether I should pester my husband again tonight or just leave it and have a rest - I really feel like early ovulation has totally thrown off my plans. 😂 I was thinking we would just do a normal 'every other day' pattern this week, but with ovulation looking like being today rather than Saturday as I had expected, I'm quite conscious that today might be the last opportunity for this cycle so feel like we ought to take it!

GoldDustWoman90 · 10/01/2024 13:30

@CluelessInLondon here's hoping! I'm guessing she was just using the word 'aggressive' to describe it, rather than it being an actual medical term. It's still going on now so I guess I better get on it 🤷‍♀️

OPK's are still negative but BBT took a bit of a rise.

Bugdem123 · 10/01/2024 15:22

@CluelessInLondon @Ladyinpink1 the test(s 😅) were probably the most negative tests I've ever seen haha. It's still early and I know it was unusual to get a positive as early as I did last time so trying to still be positive.

We conceived on the 3rd proper cycle the first time round, and this is our 3rd cycle now so I kind of had it in my head that this would be the lucky cycle so I'm keeping everything crossed. I'm also trying to keep a lid on the wee voice in the back of my head reminding it's actually not that long until we've been trying for a year and even though we started TTC when I was 33, I'll be at least 35 by the time we have a baby - it's scary how fast time is passing at the same time as how slowly it feels like it's passing, if that makes any sense?

@CluelessInLondon this is the bit I find hard about TTC - trying to do it when you wouldn't normally be in the mood but knowing you'll kick yourself if you don't force it! Hopefully you can both rally and squeeze in one more session before you ovulate.

samilicious · 10/01/2024 21:01

Hey ladies! Just caught up on messages. Just got my first static smiley on CB opk! Been using a mix of them and cheap strips this cycle randomly. Had nothing on cheap strips yesterday and ran out so did cb today and got the static. Also got ovulation pain at 6pm which I haven't had in ages 🤔 is it too late to dtd for this cycle now? DH is out until 10ish tonight, couldn't do it earlier as DD awake. So stressed with work and ill family members feels pointless anyway - don't want to conceive at a bad time and have a loss again. But also don't want to not try. Bleurgh

@Ladyinpink1 know exactly what you mean in cd1 as a possible date to track a pregnancy. That's the main reason I drag myself to track it when I feel crap about it arriving 😅 sorry that this is exceeding your usual cycle catch mark. I'm the same 7 months was my longest and this will be month 8 for me :(

Sending all the positive vibes for you @ThelastRolo20 ! Your gut was right. I haven't had a great experience of accuracy in private scans so makes sense your first one might not be 100%

@CluelessInLondon love the opk at work dilemma 👌🏻 I'm always trying to hide them from my dd so she doesn't ask what they are or start playing with them 😟

@GoldDustWoman90 slip and slide 🤭🤣 you go for it gal!

@Bugdem123 that blinding white is so rude on a negative test isn't it, like a bloody Colgate advert 😒

CluelessInLondon · 10/01/2024 21:08

@samilicious The static smiley on the CB tests means you should ovulate within 48 hours so if I were you I'd crack on tonight (and tomorrow if you can).
