Just looking for some company with ladies planning TTC 2023. There's already a thread for Jan 2024 but would be nice to keep company for Dec :)
Initially planned to start TTC 2024 Jan but it's feels time is going too slow and too broody now.
Also, worried about age turned 34 few months ago and feel clock is ticking(just my opinion).

Hi @Cantcareless Im starting in December & would like some company! Due to ovulate around the 15th 🤞🏼🍀 I’m 37 so definitely need to get on with it!! Have you done any preparation or been tracking at all? I came off the pill after 20 odd years in August & have got a normal 32 days cycle back thank god as was super worried about that! I had a fertility MOT done in September which all looked good for my age. I’ve been taking folic acid, Ubiquinol, vit C & D & vit B complex…hopefully I have done enough 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

Cantcareless · 19/11/2023 11:49

@4LeafCloverBaby I am just taking the prenatal vitamins. Tracking my period with an app. All the best for your TTC journey 💗

@Cantcareless good luck to you too 🍀

FantasticalCat · 19/11/2023 20:12

I was due start TTC today, my 36th birthday - we agreed the date as a special birthday gift 😁
However I have PCOS and as luck would have it my period has started today which means I will be joining you in December!

I’m taking folic acid and being careful with my sugar intake due to the link with PCOS, good luck everyone.

4LeafCloverBaby · 19/11/2023 21:38

Welcome @FantasticalCat & happy birthday!
must be difficult with PCOS, do you have any idea when you are likely to ovulate?

FantasticalCat · 19/11/2023 22:01

@4LeafCloverBaby unfortunately not, I’ve been tracking my cycle for 18 months now and it varies between 33-45 days.

From what I’ve read, I think we’ll just have to have fairly regular sex continuously and hope the stars align. I’ve bought some ovulation tests to use if I spot any physical signs, but not sure what else I can really do!

All tips gratefully appreciated 🤗

4LeafCloverBaby · 19/11/2023 23:11

@FantasticalCat have you used the ovulation strips before? I came off the pill in August & have tracked ovulation & BBT since then which all seems pretty simple.I can’t wait to start trying but also petrified as I’m 37 & very worried that even though everything looks fine it might not happen for ages…I’m very impatient! Lol

FantasticalCat · 20/11/2023 20:58

@4LeafCloverBaby did you arrange a pre-conception check up with your doctor? I noticed on the NHS guidance it’s recommended for anyone 36 and over. I haven’t done that yet as I figured I’d do a cycle first and see what happens.
Last month I tried an ovulation test the day Flo thought I was ovulating but it was negative…it’s been a weird cycle this month 🤷🏻‍♀️

4LeafCloverBaby · 20/11/2023 21:17

@FantasticalCat yeah I came off the pill & then on day 4 of my next period I went to the clinic & got checked out. I went private which cost £395 for mine. I just wanted peace of mind going into it because of my age I thought better to know straight away if there is a problem. it was actually really cool getting to see it all & find out everything. Would defo recommend if you have the money to do it.
It’s strange that coming off of the pill after 24 years my cycles are weirdly very regular, 32 days, ovulate on CD19 BBT is text book.

FantasticalCat · 21/11/2023 21:15

I might start with my GP given the PCOS complication but I’ll definitely look into a one off private consultation too.

@4LeafCloverBaby it sounds like you’re in a great position and everything is working as it should so fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you ☺️

4LeafCloverBaby · 21/11/2023 21:20

@FantasticalCat thank you, everything crossed! For some reason I’ve always had this bad feeling about TTC…maybe that’s why I put it off for so long.
we shall see I guess! I’m due on Monday 27th so should have done with AF on the 1st! I’m so excited!!
Have you had ovulation pains before, they are a bit of a give away for me each month

Lowrilawson · 21/11/2023 21:33

Hiya! I’ve been trying for 3 months, felt different this month but I think I’ve had an early miscarriage which is sad but try again next month! I’ve found ovulation tests help a lot and just temping first thing in the morning. I take folic acid and magnesium to try and be as healthy as possible but it also helps with my tiredness😹 baby dust to you all :) ovulation pains are also a good indicator for me x

4LeafCloverBaby · 21/11/2023 21:57

@Lowrilawson good luck to you too! When are you due to ovulate?

Lowrilawson · 21/11/2023 22:12

@4LeafCloverBaby I am bleeding at the moment on day 2 and the last 3 months my ovulation is day 18/19 but this month I started bleeding 6 days early, with lots of clotting which is why I thought maybe early miscarriage so I’m going to do ovulation tests at day 14 and go from there :) x

FantasticalCat · 22/11/2023 17:54

@Lowrilawson sorry to hear that it might have been an early miscarriage this time, are you feeling ok now?

wishing you lots of luck for December x

Lowrilawson · 22/11/2023 21:14

@Cantcareless yeah I'm doing okay, my bleeding has slowed considerably, some cramping and breast pain but I'm doing okay :), how are you?

kat167 · 23/11/2023 10:38

Hi @Cantcareless , hi everyone!

I'm really beginning to TTC for my first this month! Currently CD16 and was due to ovulate on CD14, but haven't seen a rise in BBT, so I'm not sure what that's about.

In my last two cycles we hadn't really decided to TTC but also weren't really being careful but hubby works away a lot so we only really hit the very beginning of my fertile window both times. I'm hoping that I ovulated on Tuesday like was predicted because my husband was traveling again Monday.

We decided that we would give ourselves a few months of just trying to relax and live life and not worry too much about tracking or scheduling and see if we get lucky. I'm still tracking BBT though because I'm prone to migranes and I'm trying to see if I can find any predictable patterns.

4LeafCloverBaby · 23/11/2023 10:57

hi @kat167, good luck to you for December! My ov date should be around the 15th so just a waiting game for me at the moment…so excited to get started though!!

kat167 · 23/11/2023 11:12

@4LeafCloverBaby Oh, good luck! If I don't conceive this month, I should ovulate around Dec. 18th, so we would be on about the same timeline

I'm also really excited! I'm trying to keep my mind on other things, but it would be really lovely to know I was pregnant going into the holidays! 😀

4LeafCloverBaby · 23/11/2023 11:26

@kat167 yasss!! What an amazing Christmas present that would be!!! How long are your cycles? Mine are always 32 so will be expecting AF on Dec 29th so I will know either way for new years!

kat167 · 23/11/2023 11:39

@4LeafCloverBaby That's really good timing! You can either be happy about not drinking on New Years or know that it's safe to drink ☺️

My cycles are 27 days. My period would be due on the 1st of January for that cycle, so it looks like regardless of whether I get pregnant I won't be drinking in Christmas or New Years 🤷🏼‍♀️
That should raise some eyebrows

4LeafCloverBaby · 23/11/2023 11:44

@kat167 well I’m not drinking whilst trying to conceive just for peace of mind that I’m doing everything I can really but it’s so hard to make up excuses! I’m going out on the 1st with friends & have said I have to get up early the next day…lol, I’m dreading if someone confronts me in person as I’m a rubbish liar! Lol

kat167 · 23/11/2023 11:49

@4LeafCloverBaby ah shoot! Hopefully your friends aren't the types to pry too much! You can always order soda water with lime. It looks like a cocktail. That's what I did at my brothers wedding because I had flown in the day before and been terribly air sick.

For me, I think it's the food that is harder to hide. My in-laws always have oysters and paté and stinky cheese. I've never been a big drinker, but there's an ongoing joke about me and the cheese platter so..

4LeafCloverBaby · 23/11/2023 11:52

@kat167 ahhh good shout! I might have to use that one.

hmmm…food is a tough one…might have to fake a tummy bug or something 🙈 urgh I hate the lies.

Toppstiles · 23/11/2023 21:01

Hello everyone! I have never written on a. Forum but here we are. I share a birthday with someone I see! I was 36 this week. Now we want to TTC.

However I’m 36 going on 12…. I’ve lived in london for 10 years and I love my life, my career, my everything! I’m also terrified we won’t get pregnant easily and we don’t want to try really hard. I don’t know anything about anything and I’m scared! I’m not naturally maternal nor an earth mother but I do absolutely want kids.

I am just so terrified about the getting pregnant (or not — I have SO many friends / my old boss who have been trying for years) and the pregnant bit. If someone could give me a 5 year old I’d have it all under control.

I am married to the most wonderful man on planet earth. I really am so grateful every minute of every day for him! He will be the most wonderful father and that’s a huge reason for me too.

However we are both very london and very clueless. He’s also 35 / 36 next month so I’m hoping we aren’t too old.

I was very slim and fit and got very fat during lockdown. Took Ozempic all year (loved it) lost 2 stone but still have 2-3 stone to lose. Might start again. I do exercise a lot I’m just terrible at losing the weight. Really annoying as I hate being fat and fat people. Am not that fat just like being slim.

so I did think I’d do another couple of months of ozempic to lose the two stone then try properly in Jan

Got all the supplements in my Amazon basket

Anyway so — I’m learning!

  • I did a Hertility test earlier this year. All good results. Slightly high something might mean I have PCOS. I think I do have PCOS for a few reasons - mainly I had a scan for recurrent (now gone) cystitis about 10 years ago and remember they told me I had small cysts.
  • cycles had been very regular (came off pill in December 2022), had sex on holiday thinking I’d ovulated but they’ve gone weird recently - I came on my bloody period!!!! It was only 21 days
  • husband hasn’t had any tests yet
  • have done the ovulation strips a few times this year - had positive results but know no guarantees
  • downloaded Flo and we both have it - been tracking all year. Husband got partner one last week!

FIL is a gynaecologist. He told us when we want to start trying we go straight to the GP and say we’ve been trying for 6 months. I asked him to look at my Hertility results and he said they were good and that everyone has a bit of PCOS. Said the main one was losing weight.

I was on board with this but when Husband suggested this yesterday I ripped his head off. But think I might do this - I’d rather know.

i have to say the whole thing has really put me off sex as well! I’m just generally terrified but I’m more terrified of something being wrong and needing IvF - I know I need to chill

Husband is going to hate having sex on demand too. It’s just so not us!

anyway that’s my life story and essay! Any thoughts and good vibes welcomed. I think I’m ovulating this week but husband is abroad with work and then we are at my mums for my bday weekend.

It is very hard isn’t it! Goodness me I wish you could just go out and buy one. I’m absolutely praying for all of us to the god I don’t believe in.

now don’t know whether I should prioritise shifting a bit more weight?!

reading with intent and love xxx
