Just looking for some company with ladies planning TTC 2023. There's already a thread for Jan 2024 but would be nice to keep company for Dec :)
Initially planned to start TTC 2024 Jan but it's feels time is going too slow and too broody now.
Also, worried about age turned 34 few months ago and feel clock is ticking(just my opinion).

@ttcbabyno1x welcome! Hope your cycles are starting to settle down with the change in medication. Having sex every other day is definitely a good tactic 😁 x

misacx · 06/12/2023 20:15

2 days past my period due date, took 2 tests today morning. First one didn't show any line, the later was the early detection - did come up with a line after 5 mins and kept getting darker. Not sure if its an evap line, any help?

@misacx ah it's so hard with clear blue. They're notorious for not being clear and the line doesn't look completely full? Have you got any other type of test you can use in the morning? Being two days late is a good sign so good luck!

gem71 · 06/12/2023 20:37

@misacx ooh I really hope this is a positive result for you! 🤞🏼✨ I had some really awful experiences with the clear blue early detection, they're notorious for their evap lines. 3 days late is a great sign though so try and test with a red dye when you can! I really hope this is your BFP 💛

ttcbabyno1x · 06/12/2023 20:43

@misacx that looks good to me but definitely worth doing another type. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼✨ It’s mad that you even have to worry about evaporation lines! Must get so many people’s hopes up!! 🙄

LottieW93 · 06/12/2023 21:47

Loving reading all the messages! ❤️ just my update.. my Flo app says my ovulation prediction day is Friday 8th. So we’ve been DTD every other day since Thurs 30th Nov.

I started using the CB ovulation sticks.. but no LH surge detected today. Will try again tomorrow. Longing for that smiley face but worried it’s not going to turn up! I also don’t want to rely on them as worried they don’t fully work? Maybe I’ll try different ones. Does anyone recommend another brand?

4LeafCloverBaby · 06/12/2023 21:50

@LottieW93 the clear blue smileys work for me 👌🏼👍🏼

Toppstiles · 06/12/2023 22:01

So husband and I have decided to not be actively trying until spring (My mat leave doesn’t kick in until Jan ‘23! Anyone had a baby with no mat leave?

We hadn’t really prepped to be fair and I’d like to do that now

I’m getting the

Vitawest supplements DHA & Men
Fermented coq 10
folic acid (high strength)

and I want to get two stone off

Came off pill last year so my cycles could get in chi. I think I might have PCOS. Is it best to see a doctor about that now before we actively try?

when I say actively try - we have sex probably once a month (suits us - we both work hella long hours in high pressure jobs) but making sure it’s at the right time

anything else we can do? I am nervous that I’m 36 (only just last week) and we’d like 2-3 kids so need to get a move on….but we live in London and maxed out with two mortgages. I can’t afford no income 😂 it is so messed up! Don’t get me started on childcare

Tillyss · 06/12/2023 22:48

@Toppstiles I'm in a similar position that I won't get a full maternity package until I've worked in this place for a year which would be Jan. We discussed it though and decided our chances are low of getting pregnant right away and for me, the difference between that maternity package and statutory MP is pretty much peanuts. Instead we're planning to do SPL after 5-6 months as my husband is on a low wage. Probably doesn't help you with the mortgages though!

Toppstiles · 07/12/2023 08:13

So id consider us both reasonably intelligent but we absolutely do not get SPL at all! How does it work?! I have broken Google looking 😂

Husband can have 6 weeks of paternity in 2x blocks of three but that’s not SPL. We are both on around the same and going to try and sell one this year

It’s insane isn’t it! I follow pregnant then screwed on Instagram and just had no idea. Will you use savings? That’s also an option I’m just working it out. Mat leave would be 26 weeks paid from 1 January vs 90% 6 weeks so it is kinda worth crossing legs for.

Not not trying but also was on the verge of doing the smiley face sticks. Honestly I’d like to just fall pregnant irrespective of whether we are trying! It would make it all a lot easier and decision out of hands 😂💖

Tillyss · 07/12/2023 08:44

I'm glad it's not just me thinking that the way it's described is way too confusing! But my cousin had it for all 3 babies so I'm hoping it will work the way she said. Our idea at the moment in detail (fingers crossed it would work, best laid plans etc):
I'll take 6 weeks Mat leave with SMP 90% of wage, DH will take the 2 weeks paternity and use AL to be there most of month 1.
I'll declare that I'm coming off ML and we'll both declare ourselves using SPL - we'll then have 46 weeks of that available to share in 3 blocks each.
I'll take the first and longest block for breastfeeding purposes. When I go back, the plan is to be weaning and expressing to cover the times I'm away for and I'll also use a day of AL every week (I work shifts, so would only be gone 2 full days or 3-4 half days)
DH will take most of the remaining SPL but I may take two more blocks of a week or so - that would leave us with just under a year one or the other of us at home, because of doubling up on those weeks.
Then we'll face the nightmare of childcare with no nearby family or savings.
SPL is supposed to be really flexible, so you can use it however works for you as long as employer agrees, but obviously it's only ever paid at that £174pw so your 26 weeks full pay sounds really worth the wait. To be honest at the moment I have two jobs and my second job is zero hours with no maternity rights but better paid per hour, so I'm wondering if it's legal for me to do very occasional shirt shifts there while on SPL. I'm guessing not, but the extra money would be helpful.

Mummy2823 · 07/12/2023 12:08

Been TTC since October. Due on period today so took an early detection test and this is what I got.
I see a line but it's not central, do you think this is positive?

Thank you so much darling - don’t think I’m replying but I’m replying to you SPL @Tillyss ! 💖 also a forum newbie but it’s nice to ask questions anonymously isn’t it. I have friends at such different stages and also it’s just private - don’t really want to tell everyone!

That won’t work for us then if only £174 a week! It is just absolutely crazy isn’t it? Honestly given how hard it is to a) get pregnant b) afford to take maternity I don’t know how anyone exists on the planet 😂 it is just our mortgage - our living costs and outgoings are the lowest we know of our friends! Including those in Devon. Just the giant, giant mortgage. LDN house prices 😂

I think all in it is worth the wait - it’s only a few months and as we all know it might not be immediate anyway (we have DTD on suggested Flo ovulation days and nothing). I think it’ll be ok in Summer and to be honest once I’ve converted to be able to have maternity I will be happy to pop them out back to back 😂 I did join the company specifically to be able to have a life / family, it’s very family friendly whilst being amazing but annoyingly has this contract clause.

Wishing everyone good vibes 💖

bulletproofcoffee · 07/12/2023 15:31

Joining the thread! Similar to other people we was going to wait until Feb 24 but jumped in to TTC due to ill family and wanting something positive for 2023. Currently believe I am 7 DPO, just did a test (early I know) but it was BFN :( Got some FRRR for the weekend/next week :)

4LeafCloverBaby · 07/12/2023 17:03

@Mummy2823 it looks like it is but maybe do a pink dye to double check? X

Mummy2823 · 07/12/2023 17:25

@4LeafCloverBaby pink dye?
I will order some first response now on Amazon as they were really clear last time!

4LeafCloverBaby · 07/12/2023 17:31

@Mummy2823 yeah the frer are apparently the best 👍🏼

misacx · 08/12/2023 10:23

Just an update.
AF due today, no signs as yet.
Did test yesterday after the vvvfl the other day and got a BFN yesterday morning so think I'm out this month.

How's everyone else getting on?

ThelastRolo20 · 08/12/2023 10:36

@misacx this is why I really dislike clearblue - it could very we'll be a positive, but it could also be a dodgy test! Do you have any red dye tests?

I've got a whole 6 days before I test! If AF doesn't come beforehand or course

misacx · 08/12/2023 10:40

@ThelastRolo20 I do have 1 red dye test left, will do that in 2 days and also planning to do the digital one so that I don't have to assume anymore, cb this product is the worst

4LeafCloverBaby · 08/12/2023 10:41

@TTCnothree fingers crossed for you still! 🍀
I’m impatiently waiting to ovulate…it’s due around the 14th…

Fawklight · 08/12/2023 11:15

Hi guys, I'm TTC tis month.

Just taken an ovulation test is it positive?

Anyone TTC Dec 2023
gem71 · 08/12/2023 11:24

@TTCnothree I also have had no AF and none of my usual symptoms butttttt also getting BFNs! I had a vvvvfl the other day which I've accepted was probably just an indent, another vvvfl last night too.

I'll stay hopeful until AF's arrival but friends are having some drinks tonight and I find it so hard whether or not to drink. I don't usually drink but also don't want to let my whole life revolve around TTC if I'm already out this month 😩

MaybeBaby2024 · 08/12/2023 11:45

@Fawklight do you have the Premom app on your phone? Upload a pic of the test strip on the app and it will tell you if it’s positive. I use the easy at home strips too and can be hard to tell sometimes!
