Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@Panda101x is that pictures of the same test (Apart from ovulation test)? The latest two look positive I'd day. Where are you in your cycle? Sorry if I've missed this further up, have you had had a negative test since previous loss?

I’ve had six losses all from different weeks over four years. I’ve an apt at gp later. To confirm and get my progesterone tablets if they agree postive

Bumblesbee84 · 22/02/2024 12:22

@Panda101x so sorry for all your losses. Wish you lots of luck with gp appointment.

Awe lovely scan @YellowZ congratulations!!

MrsB2019x · 22/02/2024 17:01

Not good news from this end. Baby stopped growing at 8+4. I’m devastated.

I have an appointment with EPU tomorrow afternoon to discuss options. I’m really hoping I’m offered surgery. I don’t want to do this at home.

Anyone who has had a MMC, when did you get the go ahead to try again?

YellowZ · 22/02/2024 17:11

Aw shit @MrsB2019x I'm so so sorry. I thought you were going to be OK. That feels so unfair. Hopefully they'll offer surgery, that's what I'd want too. Sending love xx

@MrsB2019x I'm so sorry to hear this, I really hoped to hear positive news. So the consultant told me it's good to wait a couple of cycles but when I spoke to the nurse she said to wait at least one, the only reason for that though is dating purposes so I'm trying to see if I ovulate now that HCG is pretty much out of my system. It's been two weeks today since my surgery.

jellyfish2 · 22/02/2024 17:19

@MrsB2019x you should be offered surgery. If for some reason you aren't then please push for it, they can't say no to you.

MrsB2019x · 22/02/2024 17:25

I’m just worried because it’s Thursday and my appointment is on a Friday, that it won’t be til next week. I don’t want to go naturally over the weekend ☹️

Bumblesbee84 · 22/02/2024 17:28

@MrsB2019x I'm so very sorry. That's devastating. I hope you have people around you to hold your heart during this time.
In answer to your question. I've had two MMC picked up at scans, able to try again as soon as bleeding stopped. I've had to wait for first period to pass because my spotting has been prolonged, but I had medical management and I think surgery possibly resolves symptoms more quickly. But no reason not to start again as soon a you're ready.
Sending virtual love and all the hugs xx

Did noone speak to you today about your options? I was briefly spoken to and given a leaflet. I was told someone would call me the following day to find out what I wanted to do however I phoned as soon as I got home to say I wanted surgery so that I could get a slot asap. I was booked in for a pre op the next day and surgery the day after that.

No, I was handed a miscarriage pack which I haven’t looked at yet, but the appointment tomorrow is only to discuss options

SunshineAndRainbows6 · 22/02/2024 18:25

@Panda101x Oooh that looks promising to me! I've never got a false positive on those ones and I've used them for all of my pregnancy's as a cheaper option 🙏🏼 It's got colour too! I'm keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

@CurlyWurly1991 Im so sorry for your loss! I'm glad your doing ok with this period and it's not too painful 🙏🏼 here's hoping for our rainbows 🌈 We are strong 💪🏼

@YellowZ Ooooh my gosh! Lovely news 👏🏻 Looks like an ickle bubba girl to me from that scan photo (I haven't been wrong on my guesses as of yet) 😉

@MrsB2019x I am so so sorry 😔 sending you so much love, honestly my heart breaks for you 💔 Regarding your next steps when I had my MMC in October last year we were given the leaflet with options and I opted for surgical management and had pre op's done the same day and booked in for the D&C the following day.... I had my surgery on the 10th of October, got my first period on the 10th of November (4 weeks on the dot) then we fell pregnant in December... which as you know resulted in my ectopic 😔 But we were told aslong as I felt mentally ready and I had stopped bleeding which stopped roughly 6 days after the procedure then we could try 🙏🏼 So theoretically we fell pregnant on our 2nd cycle.... Sending so much love your way 🌟💕

YellowZ · 22/02/2024 18:51

Thanks for sharing @SunshineAndRainbows6 that gives me some hope ☺️

CurlyWurly1991 · 22/02/2024 20:12

@MrsB2019x I’m so very sorry to hear this sad news. I hope you have support around you and can be looked after. I had surgery for MMC and while I was advised to wait to TTC until after a period. However after reading a bit about it I found that you are actually OK to try again as soon as you feel ready. What I would say though is to give yourself time to grieve the loss as the emotional side takes longer to process than the physical, sometimes. Sending you lots of hugs xx

Nic2908 · 22/02/2024 20:45

@MrsB2019x im so sorry. You’re such a lovely human. So kind and caring and thoughtful to others. My heart sank at this. I’m so sorry. How is your partner doing? It’s going to be a long few days again isn’t it

CatCaretaker · 22/02/2024 20:50

@MrsB2019x I'm so so sorry, I was really rooting for you.

Apparently my hospital only do the procedure on Wednesday and Friday mornings 🤨 so I’m booked in for Wednesday, if I last that long
