TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂

Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

And with you, just know with every hour that passes you're getting closer to Sunday. Sunday is more information and information is power. It's important to listen to your body but everything I'm sure will be heightened after what we've been through with ectopics. So try to remain positive and remember it's early days just yet. Soon you'll be able to get a scan to see the lay of the land.

@YellowZ weeks going quickly now. Fingers-crossed for a lovely scan in 3 weeks, not too long now!

And so the TWW starts for me..I will try not to symptom spot and test too early but doubt I'll be able to stick to it

Hi all I’m trying to lose some weight so hopefully they will help, my injection should start running out in couple of weeks so should be able to start my ovulation tests. I’m taking my seven seas so I’m being good lol

I’m 37 and currently TTC #2.
Have a 10 year old DD (same partner)
started TTC #2 in May 23. A couple of suspected chemical pregnancies ( I never test early as I’d rather not know) and then a MMC discovered just under 8 weeks. ERPC early Jan 24.

Waiting for hcg to drop far enough so I get a BFN and for my cycle to return. It’s irregular at the best of times and I’ve had plenty of tests and nothing really of concern.

I do bbt temping and use cheap OPKs with premom. Considering getting some of those clear blue 4 day sticks on eBay.

I’m cd30 and had a week of EWCM but OPKs are very negative so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've put on 2kg already, oops! Trousers feeling tight. Kidding myself it's because the baby is growing ha ha!

12wk scan STILL 2 weeks away. I really hope it's OK

@Stategigi thanks for checking in! Been a whirlwind week with all sorts of tests but I had a scan today at 5+1 and saw a gestational sac and yolk sac in the correct place! 100% not having another ectopic and everything’s looking great so I’m over the moon!!

@YellowZ Eek how exciting! 2 weeks will fly by. I got my date through yesterday, 4th March, when I’ll be 13+5 😩

Anyone still.in TWW?
I'm 8dpo haven't been going too insane as I was sick with some virus the last few days but now I'm feeling better and starting to symptom spot again

I think I’m the the TWW, about 4dpo. This is first cycle following MMC in Jan and I haven’t had a period yet. Low chance of conception this cycle but there is a chance so fingers crossed to us! @Gracie1825

Similar to me. this is my first post period cycle for me after MMC in December. Definitely a chance 🤞 this one was odd for me..as I ovulated early enough according to OPK and never really got EWCM so think my body is still getting back on track but trying to stay positive at the same time.. baby dust to us both

@MrsB2019x 13+5 seems late 😬sorry you have to wait so long! I think I got lucky with mine because I was invited to take part in a research study where they're taking extra measurements at the 12wk scan, they just booked me in over the phone for almost 12wks exactly.

Good luck @Gracie1825 when will you start testing, do you think? If you haven't already.

How are you getting on @Stategigi ? Hope you are doing OK

@YellowZ I ended up calling them because I was worried it was quite close to the cut off, and because I measured big with DD, so they have moved it to 22nd when I’ll be 12+1 😆 so excited!

@YellowZ thanks ill see if I can TRY and wait until Wednesday .I'll be 12dpo then and I don't generally test positive until AF anyway so thats still early for me.

@MrsB2019x great news! When you say 'cut off', what do you mean? Is there a date they need to scan buy to date the baby's gestation accurately? All new to me.

@YellowZ @MrsB2019x how exciting for your 12 week scans!! How are you both feeling?

@Stategigi Yeah ideally your 12 week scan needs to be before 14 weeks as that’s when the fluid on the back of the neck begins to absorb so they can’t measure it accurately. I was moved 5 days ahead with DD so was quite anxious we wouldn’t be able to have the tests done properly!

@Nic2908 I’m actually feeling pretty good! So, so tired still but other than that everything else seems to have subsided for now. How are you doing?

@MrsB2019x my scan is on the 22nd too! Yes, DS was almost a week ahead at 12wks. Definitely better to rearrange.

@Stategigi the measurement they take helps predict the risk of chromosomal problems including Downs

Are you doing ok @Nic2908 ? I'm feeling fine physically. Been... disconcertingly easy so far. I hope everything is ok, the baby is growing, and I'm just lucky with symptoms. It doesn't feel real yet.

Hey @Nic2908 thanks for thinking of me. AF arrived two days ago sadly but it was after an awful stressful week, I got very down about the whole trying to conceive again. I got very caught up in negative thinking. Not sure if stress plays a factor in this but I'm trying to remain calm this new cycle. How are you?

@YellowZ Omg no way, what time is yours? Mine is at 3:40. Can’t wait to see your update!

@Ella31 So sorry AF arrived, I definitely think being stuck in a rut of negative thinking doesn’t help but equally it’s so hard not to! Hope you’re doing okay x

I am. I'm weirdly ok with it not happening this month as my lutral phase increased back up from 9 days to 12 so I'm really happy with that. That's what I was before my boys.

But I feel exhausted about trying again this month. Like we did smep and all around and including ovulation. Its awful when it doesn't come to plan after that. It's like what more could we have done?

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing ok. I will catch up on the posts later. I would be due my depo injection on Friday so I hope it doesn’t take too long for my periods to return so I can use my ovulation tests 😊

That's really good about your luteal phase @Ella31 hopefully that will help next month.
