Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

Thank you @YellowZ , scan was great! Little one is exactly where they should be, has a heartbeat and measures almost bang on for dates. The relief is unreal 🥲

@Ella31 What cycle day are you on now?

@Ella31 What cycle day are you on now?

13 , I normally would ovulate later anyway around day 17 - 20 but that was before the loss of my boys, so maybe it will be then.

YellowZ · 16/01/2024 07:35

Hey! It sort of depends what your baseline is. Mine look like the one you've posted all through my cycle, except for the day before and the day of the LH peak where they're much darker. But some people's control line is much fainter. Is this your first easy@home lh test ever?

Hey, do you mean it looks very faint like day after period for example? Yes I've normally used fermometer and clearblue

Aw congrats. What a relief for you.

@MrsB2019x yay! Lovely news 🥰

Ella31 · 16/01/2024 12:49

We're dtd every other day so will hopefully catch when the time comes.

Ella31 · 15/01/2024 23:10

Ladies, using the easy at home ovulation tests first time this cycle - attached a pic. Am I getting closer to ovulation do you reckon. I know the line has to be darker than control line. Hopefully not too far off that. What do you think. I'm dtd every second night

@Ella31 here's an example of one of my cycles. I tend to peak very quickly with a rise in one day and then straight back down. Others have different patterns. You'll get to know yours better the more you use opks. If this test of yours was one of mine, I'd probs expect to peak that evening but for you it might not be the case (as @YellowZ said, hers tend to be that level as a baseline!) So... No easy answer I'm afraid other than keep testing!

TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂
SnookyPook · 16/01/2024 12:52

@Ella31 note that I tested twice on CD14 because I spotted the rose starting in my morning opk!

MrsB2019x · 16/01/2024 13:29

@Ella31 Have attached my tests from this cycle - I don’t know why it’s taken the cycle days off but the top one was day 10 and I got my peak on day 14. Yours looks quite similar to mine on day 11 so I’d start testing twice a day from now (late morning then late afternoon ideally)

TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂

@MrsB2019x wonderful, congratulations 😊

Ella31 · 16/01/2024 14:27

@MrsB2019x @SnookyPook thanks so much for taking the time to advise me. I'll be watching this cycle like a hawk

Bumblesbee84 · 16/01/2024 15:26

@MrsB2019x my heart is smiling for you, really lovely news!

Ella31 · 16/01/2024 15:59

I'm starting to think I'm bring silly worrying about my ovulation - my first ovulation after having my sons was 26th December just gone. So technically I am early to be ovulating at this point. I'm wondering if my loss is causing me to panic. So I'm on cycle day 13 and looking back at my records, I usually ovulated between cycle day 17 and 20. I suppose I have to realise being 10 weeks post partum my cycle is only coming back.

YellowZ · 16/01/2024 16:24

Ahh amazing @MrsB2019x that's lovely news! Nice to be able to relax. (Having said that, I don't think I'll fully relax until after the 12wk point and the tests etc are ok... currently worrying about my lack of symptoms, despite having a good scan 4 days ago. The time goes so slowly!)

@Ella31 it does sound like ovulation might still be a couple of days off, based on your previous cycles. But yes I think you need to be gentle with yourself, things might not go straight back to normal. How many weeks were your twins when they were born? If it's not too painful to talk about.

@Nic2908 how's the 2ww so far?

@Room4onemore hi 👋🏼 welcome aboard

@YellowZ not at all. I love talking about them. I was 29 weeks, was due to have them at 36 weeks. But they got acute TTTS, a rare twin that came out of nowhere. I realised i had no movement one evening and within two hours I had an emergency section and unfortunately my first boy was stillborn and his brother passed away 4 days later.

Nic2908 · 16/01/2024 20:20

@MrsB2019x no greater feeling that the relief that you can in that scan room. I hope that one day I will be reminded about that feeling too 🥰

@Ella31 do you keep your ovulation sticks?? I tape my down in a book (sounds rancid doesn’t it) and that way I can follow the line. When it gets darker I test more frequently.

@YellowZ im doing ok, what am I? 2 or 3dpo. I’m super busy at work so I don’t think of it when I am at work it’s a great distraction and probably the only time I am greatful to be ward manager. Trying desperately not to symptom spot.. but I am definately bloated and I have an ache sort of lower belly/groin area. So as always I’m choosing to be positive….. until that negative test comes along and takes the wind from underneath me. It’s fast approaching a year to my loss, I’m dreading it.

I track them on the premom app.

Nic2908 · 16/01/2024 22:21

😂😂far to technical for me that!! I’m like a nana when it comes to technology

MrsB2019x · 16/01/2024 23:00

Aww Nana Nic @Nic2908 🥹
Honestly Premom is sooo easy to use and really helps to take the guesswork out of whether it’s positive or not!

Stategigi · 16/01/2024 23:49

@MrsB2019x congratulations on the beautiful scan - so exciting!
@ella31 sorry for all you've been through but your resilience is inspiring. Do give yourself time to physically heal but if you're body is saying it's OK, then the next few months could be exciting.
I'm watching my groin as feel some throbbing from the ectopic surgery but considering that as healing. Otherwise just waiting to see how this cycle plays out so the premom app recommendations and the OPK tests which I've not done are v interesting, thanks!

Thanks @Stategigi I'm no more resilient than any of ye amazing women who have been through so much as well. I just knew that when I held my two boys that I was supposed to be a mom and I know I am technically but I want to bring a baby home and someday tell them about their beautiful older brothers. That's why I am keeping strong - it keeps my boys alive in a way.

@Stategigi are you ttc this month? I'm sorry about your ectopic surgery. It's so unfair but you sound really grounded, I hope you are recovering well.

Stategigi · 17/01/2024 10:07

@Ella31 it's very wise. We really have no control over how things play out and so our journeys are quite fateful (I believe anyway). We have control of what we eat and how we treat our bodies but a surprise twin / TTTC and ectopics and miscarriages are going to happen if they're going to happen. It's wonderful you have the mothering spirit and I think that will be a powerful, positive message coursing through your body.

I was release on Christmas eve from surgery, so bled then and now just waiting to see when my period comes. I have an inkling I ovulated 10 or so days ago judging by discharge so hoping the body has got back into sync. If groin feels OK and no discomfort doing the deed (!) then we'll TTC straight away. Want to see how the landscape plays out with 1 fallopian tube! The sense that there was literally nothing we could do to change the course of our journeys helps in just keeping positive and moving forward.

I believe its fateful too. And u also believe good things happen eventually. I had two early losses before my boys and my second early loss took 8 weeks for ovulation to come back but I did conceive my boys straight after so you are right to let nature take its course. I didn't get a period though as I ovulated first. I think you are so brave , I can't imagine how hard an ectopic was, so keep strong. You are doing great.
