Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

Hello @Ella31 welcome. I am so sorry for what you've been through xx

Thanks so much @YellowZ hopefully we'll have your luck.

Currently waiting for ovulation to rise. I've flashing smiley on opk but cheapie stick is still light enough.

Ella31 · 12/01/2024 23:43

Dtd every second night now. Hoping something will catch.

YellowZ · 14/01/2024 14:24

@Ella31 how are you getting on? Any sign of ovulation?

How's everyone else doing? ☺️

I am officially 1dpo. Dtd the night before and the day after ovulation so I’m going to remain hopeful. Defo in a stronger position that last month so taking that as a win.

@MrsB2019x how are you feeling? Have you had a scan also??

YellowZ · 14/01/2024 15:29

Good luck @Nic2908 try not to go 2ww crazy haha 😳 (I'm always mental by 6dpo)

Good luck @Ella31 and @Nic2908!

4/5 days post ovulation here (2 ovulation tests failed 5 days ago, so I gave up for the day, but I think they would have been positive that day if they had worked, was positive the next day). DTD 1 and 2 days before ovulation, but not ovulation day, so hope it was enough. Not too hopeful though.

bethhop85 · 14/01/2024 16:35

AF arrived today so I’m out for another cycle 😓

Feeling really rubbish - hormonal and disappointed and sad. I’ve really been struggling with January blues too. Trying to think of something to help lift my mood!

Good luck to everyone else 🍀

Bumblesbee84 · 14/01/2024 16:36

@CatCaretaker @Ella31 @Nic2908 I'm also in TWW! 3DPO, didn't get as much of a chance as usual this month due to DH work commitments (grrr) but hoping one of those little guys will get there! Good luck ladies x

CatCaretaker · 14/01/2024 16:43

@bethhop85 so sorry, I know exactly how it feels. It would almost be easier if someone just said, it's not going to happen for you, ever. It would be hard but at least then we'd know!

@YellowZ it's definitely getting stronger on the cheapie, hoping there will be a static soon.

Trying to hope this could be our month - since losing our twin sons recently, all I've longed for is a baby to love and care for, without replacing them either. But I know I was meant to be a mother and the fear that I won't get that again terrifies me. I've been completely cleared to try again even though it was very recent we lost them (just before xmas) but I have recovered very well physically.

@CatCaretaker I definitely got pregnant with my angel twins before ovulation day so don't lose faith

I was like that last month too. It was the first cycle after I had lost my sons as well , so it hit hard. Just be good to yourself. Ovulation us only 2 weeks away now so think positive. It will happen. Its not "if but when"

bethhop85 · 14/01/2024 18:10

Thank you, @CatCaretaker and @Ella31

@Ella31 I am so sorry for your loss and can’t even imagine how you must feel. I am really really hoping for good news for you very soon.

@CatCaretaker - I have often wished I could just know whether this is ever going to work out. The constant hoping and trying followed by disappointment every month is so hard to handle. I know of women like me with PCOS who had given up altogether and then found out they were pregnant at 45 and 46 so while there may be a glimmer of hope for me, I could have another 7-8 years of wondering and hoping…! My age (38) also worries me as time is running out and this just puts even more pressure on every failed cycle 😞 My doctor did say that women with PCOS begin perimenopause about 2-4 years later than other women so I really hope that means I still have a chance.

Room4onemore · 14/01/2024 19:24

Hi ladies, can I join please? I’m 41 and am trying for 1 more baby. I am on the injection at the moment, but I’m not going for my next one next month, i will have been on it for 11 months so I’m hoping my cycles come back to normal pretty quick and that I am ovulating, so I ordered some clearblue ovulation tests today so I’m ready to least see if my levels are rising around ovulation time. I can’t help looking at all the newborn baby clothes lol, my youngest is 10 months so will be at least 1 before I get pregnant again ( if I ever do with my age)

MrsB2019x · 14/01/2024 19:27

Good luck to everyone in the TWW! 🤞

@Nic2908 Yeah I’ve got one on Tuesday… starting to brick it now 😬

You are young, my own doctor had 3/5 children between 41-46 she told me. The one thing that gets me through all of this is I remember the months before I conceived my angel twin boys, the despair and disappointment and like Clockwork when I did get pregnant with them, it's like that all washed away. So keep thinking of how lovely the day you show the digital to your OH is going to be. That's what I'm clinging to - the moment that is only waiting for us.

Confusedddddddd · 15/01/2024 07:46

@bethhop85 you're similar to me in that I'm also 38 and have the same feelings I just want to know if it's possible.

It took 6 months to fall pregnant with my 1st aged 35, at first scan they found I had a huge endometrioma and likely "riddled" with endometriosis. I put off having surgery as I had 0 symptoms. In May last yr had an accidental pregnancy which was ectopic, it ruptured and had to have emergency surgery but agreed to remove the endometriomas. Turned out I never had endometriosis- just a large cyst filled with blood.
We've now been trying 7 cycles to conceive again and the last one really hit me hard as I thought it took a long time to conceive the first time, and thought it'd be easier this time now that everything has been sorted in my pelvis.
Last month they found the cysts have come back, unfortunately it's on the side with the tube and I have some fluid around my healthy ovary. I thought something was up as I've been having a fair bit of pain since the op.

I asked to be referred for more tests after my surgery like Hycosy and was told they are invasive and I've conceived twice before so I should try for a year first.

At this point I honestly just want to get pregnant asap so we give our child a sibling so that I can just get rid of this dodgy ovary. And just stop my cycles. I've been getting peri symptoms too which isn't helping. Though cycles still very regular.

Bumblesbee84 · 15/01/2024 08:29

@Ella31 yes I hope so, managed to do the day after solid smiley on clear blue digital, so I assume that was ovulation day. Also did 4 days before but not expecting anything from that really!

@bethhop85 I also really relate to just wanting to know if we'll have a successful pregnancy. I've had 3 losses and it feels like too much pain if we get nothing out of it. I'm 40 in a couple of months which feels like a big milestone too. @Ella31 I really admire your positivity, I need to channel some of that too!!

@Room4onemore welcome and good luck with your journey!!

@Bumblesbee84 thanks, I think after my twins died, positive thinking was all I had. I didn't want to get lost down the rabbit hole of despair so to speak because I had early miscarriages before I lost my sons and i got very depressed over them. , I obviously didn't think at the time, that this would happen but it did and I'm fighting everyday now to keep going.

You sound like you have covered yourself well - dtd wise.

Ella31 · 15/01/2024 23:10

Ladies, using the easy at home ovulation tests first time this cycle - attached a pic. Am I getting closer to ovulation do you reckon. I know the line has to be darker than control line. Hopefully not too far off that. What do you think. I'm dtd every second night

TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂
YellowZ · 16/01/2024 07:35

Hey! It sort of depends what your baseline is. Mine look like the one you've posted all through my cycle, except for the day before and the day of the LH peak where they're much darker. But some people's control line is much fainter. Is this your first easy@home lh test ever?
