TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂

Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@Bumblesbee84 you've had 2 consecutively? How many would you have to have to be eligible!

@bethhop85 how are you today? Did AF arrive?

If I had known it was thus hard to get a BFP I could have been a lot less stressed about birth control. The amount of effort we put into preventing pregnancy, as if we really thought it would happen just like that if we slipped up with birth control just once 😂.

Hi @CatCaretaker , thanks for asking. I’m still having some light spotting today so not feeling hopeful… If it is AF, I expect it’ll be here by the weekend.

Totally agree with your comments about how hard it is to get pregnant! I took it all to heart in school and was terrified about having an unplanned pregnancy. The adults really did make me think that it was a high risk even if you only had unprotected sex once. It was a shock to discover that there are only a few days each month where it is possible to conceive and even then I’m missing out every month despite timing it right 😥

How are you doing? I love that I’ve found a buddy who is the same age and also a cat servant mum!

@bethhop85 Servant is right! I'm always half out of the bed because he insists on being right in the middle and takes up as much space as third human 😆

I'm doing OK. Scan on Friday. Had a minor panic this morning due to lack of symptoms, saved my FMU 😳and bought some extortionate digitals in the little boots chemist round the corner from me.

I also found a baby seal on the beach and had to wait for marine rescue to come out!! Hour wait in the icy cold. I'm frozen!

@YellowZ ooh 3+ is fab! I've had minimal symptoms throughout so far! Healthy scan last week at 8wks so just minimal symptoms I think 🤞🏻🙏🏼 How adorable is that seal?! 🥰😍

@YellowZ I bet the scan can't come soon enough!

Lovely seal, what did marine say / do when they came out? Are baby seals ever left like that by their mothers for periods of time? Not the point of this thread, I'm just interested 😅

@CatCaretaker apparently seal pups are often left for long periods by their mothers. But this one was quite far away from the place up the coast where the seals congregate. I'm glad I called about it, as the seal medic who came out said it was dehydrated and looking skinny. Also there are lots of dogs on that part of the beach which can be dangerous to baby seals, apparently. They took it to a local aquarium which has a seal hospital. They release them when they're well again. It was super cute and curious. Didn't seem too worried about me being there. They have such intelligent expressions.

@SnookyPook sorry forgot to say, great you had a good scan 🙂 do you have a date for your 12wk scan? Thanks for the reassurance over symptoms.

They moved my scan to 8am. All good! Measuring 6w exactly which is what I thought I was. In the right place with a heartbeat ☺️☺️

I'm 1DPO today, hoping for some good news in a couple of weeks time. Because of DH'S work trip we've only DTD 4 days before O and on the day of O... really hope that's enough... but won't be surprised if it isn't though!

@YellowZ do you have any more early scans lined up before 12 week scan?

@Bumblesbee84 I think the best chance actually is on O day, from some things I've seen / read, followed by the day (or maybe 2?) before, so I wouldn't worry that you'd missed it!

Thanks everyone! Yes I feel much better, like I can start to get a bit excited now. @Bumblesbee84 no more scans until the 12wk. I think if they hadn't seen a heartbeat etc I would have had another scan in a few weeks, but they didn't have any concerns. Good luck for your 2ww! The sonographer this morning said sperm can survive for 7 days, so I reckon you're definitely in with a chance 🤞🏼

33 years old.

2 miscarriages and recently, lost my twin sons 4 days after their birth. Back trying again. Waiting to ovulate, hoping this is our month. Currently have cm and flashing smiley on opk.
