Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

Would love to hear from others!

@Loz1006 amazing news congratulations!! How bloody exciting.

@Lostlawyer26 thats really positive isn’t it, absolutely everything crossed for you.

@lemonyfox you really would think that would want to see you, it’s going to be a long ass wait until Friday. You counting down the sleeps?

I am day 13 of cycle one so due to ovulate at any point. Wish me luck.

lemonyfox · 06/12/2023 04:31

@Nic2908 I'm actually really really nervous, I feel like a walking ticking timebomb. I checked my discharge paperwork from my ruptured ectopic last time and my HCG then was 1214, and now it was 2014 yesterday. I'm wide awake now because I keep thinking I'm getting twinges but I'm just imagining things!

Good luck for this month 😊 x

SoulSeal · 06/12/2023 05:35

Hi, I've not slept as I have another IVF appointment today, I started the process back in May and it's getting real now. I have high AMH and expecting a lot of poor-quality eggs. I was hoping for enough embryos for siblings, but being 37 I'm feeling a lot of pressure for this to work.

YellowZ · 06/12/2023 08:25

@lemonyfox oh gosh, that's a long wait. I'm surprised they let you leave without a scan. It's horrible tuning into every little twinge like that. Hope the next couple of days go quickly for you. And of course, trust your instincts and go back if you're at all worried about any pain.

@Nic2908 good luck for ovulation! 🤞

@SoulSeal urgh yeah the pressure must be awful. Hopefully they'll get some good eggs - is it the retrieval today? Or are you waiting to see if they've fertilized...? Fingers crossed either way.

@Lostlawyer26 amazing! Really glad for you.

@Annonomous29 all good here thanks. CD5 so not much going on yet. I'm taking my fancy vitamins and eating heaps of nuts and avocados. Also went for a run yesterday for the first time in a few weeks and have a sore arse now haha. Definitely getting old, I never used to get a sore arse from running at all! Will start with the OPKs in a few days... This is my first proper cycle off the pill in years as I conceived immediately with DS and the ectopic.

@SoulSeal hey, good luck with this round of IVF. What's your AMH can I ask? Mines 54 and the Dr told me to expect to do a freeze all, when we eventually get round to starting IVF. Have they said the same for you?

lemonyfox · 06/12/2023 19:55

@YellowZ thanks yellow, I ended up back in the hospital today with increasing pain and also now bleeding. They've scanned me and my uterus is empty, but because they couldn't clearly see an ectopic in my tube they sent me home. Baffling. I'm back tomorrow for more bloods, I'm like a fucking pincushion at this point. I guess they're expecting my HCG to drop or slow down tomorrow, considering the bleeding.

SnookyPook · 06/12/2023 20:19

@lemonyfox so sorry to hear this - hopefully a bit reassuring that they couldn't see an ectopic as likely nothing big enough to rupture? It's so scary when you have the 'ticking timebomb' feeling as you mentioned earlier. Sending a big hug and hope they give you a more conclusive response tomorrow.

CatCaretaker · 06/12/2023 20:40

@lemonyfox hopefully they'll be able to do something for you tomorrow because that sounds awfully stressful.

You didn't ask me, but my AMH is 42 (at 37) which the doctor said was high for my age, and a symptom of PCOS.

lemonyfox · 06/12/2023 21:02

@SnookyPook aww thank you x

@CatCaretaker thank you! Ah yeah I have PCOS too, lucky us 😂

Nic2908 · 06/12/2023 22:14

@lemonyfox ahh man, is there a chance that maybe you are early and that’s why nothing in womb? I really have no idea about these things I’m just trying to remain positive for you because anything less than that sucks ass.

YellowZ · 07/12/2023 08:14

Best of luck @lemonyfox hope you get an answer soon. And keep going back if you're worried - will they want bloods every 2 days on an ongoing basis?

OP posts:
CatCaretaker · 07/12/2023 20:15

@lemonyfox how did it go today?

How's everyone else doing?

YellowZ · 08/12/2023 08:38

@CatCaretaker cd8 here, so will start LH testing soon I think. Will be interesting to see when I ovulate, given it's my first proper tracked cycle.

How are you getting on?

Feeling OK. Trying to create a healthy routine (exercise, diet) that i will stick to regardless of the shitty 2ww.

By the way, has anyone looked into taking NAC (N-acetylcysteine)? It's an antioxidant - there are studies that show it's good for egg quality/good for PCOS

I've been taking it for the last few days 🙂

OP posts:
CatCaretaker · 08/12/2023 08:57

@YellowZ no, I take Metformin (for PCOS), vit D, B vitamins, Proceive, iron and folic acid (I feel like an old lady with my box of medicine 😂). I only came across antioxidants (CoQ-10) on this thread, and may add that in for himself and myself (he's taking a multivitamin with zinc, selenium, vit E).

YellowZ · 08/12/2023 12:45

@CatCaretaker I've actually ordered myself one of those pill organizers from Amazon too 😂

OP posts:
Bugdem123 · 08/12/2023 13:44

@YellowZ I love my pill organiser 😂 my husband thinks I look like an old lady when I'm replenishing it for the week.
I'm currently taking proceive, an additional methylfolate (so I'm taking 800 in total) and ubiquinol (2x200). I've got no idea if any of it makes any difference - I've been taking proceive since Feb and still miscarried in September but it makes me feel like I'm doing something!

CatCaretaker · 09/12/2023 10:16

Sorry, I should have said Proceive Omega 3. All the other vits are separate.

Feeling very disheartened today, at what point should I just accept defeat 😞. 7 dpo now, but I just know it didn't work, again.

Annonomous29 · 09/12/2023 13:42

Hi Ladies

Nic2908 · 09/12/2023 15:44

@Annonomous29 i say pee on a stick!! You are only going to keep wondering.

I think I’m out this month, I am cd17, have been testing since cd12 but still not positive for ovulation. I think I might have missed it!! So bloody annoyed.

Annonomous29 · 10/12/2023 10:35

Hey @Nic2908 I have tested 14dpo today and BFN this os draining Im having abdo cramps yesterday had left side pelvic pain constipated don’t really feel like eating lazy sorry for tmi af still no show . I really don’t know what my body is doing right now. Ahhhhh this is just tooo muchhhh….😔😔😔😔

YellowZ · 10/12/2023 12:41

Hey @Annonomous29 sorry about the BFN. That's frustrating. How many days after ovulation does your period usually arrive? I think mine is the standard 14 days.

Urgh @Nic2908 have you been dtd at all?

I'm just coming up for "fertile week" aka sex week in our house 🙂I think DP was pleased when I announced that this morning haha. (Based on if I ovulate on Friday, which is the predicted day on my app).

How's everyone else?

OP posts:
CatCaretaker · 10/12/2023 13:22

@YellowZ 8dpo, and I just know it didn't work. It's very frustrating to have never achieved a bfp and not to know why, when it comes so easy to others.

YellowZ · 10/12/2023 13:35

@CatCaretaker aww. It miiight have worked? What gives you the feeling that it hasn't? I'll still keep my fingers crossed for you 🍀

OP posts:
CatCaretaker · 10/12/2023 13:39

Thank you, well, I don't know cause I don't know what it would be like, but I imagine there qould be some sign. I feel exactly the same as I always day 6 day before AF😔

I've also just lost all excitement, at the start I really thought it would happen but now I think it never will.

Another close friend is talking about starting to try for DC2 and complaining about having to give up wine and I just want to shake her.

Bumblesbee84 · 10/12/2023 13:58

@YellowZ Haha love the "sex week" announcement to DH! I'm 11 days post medical management (so counting as CD11) and we've agreed we're just going to crack on straight away with ttc rather than wait for first period. I usually ovulate between CD12 and 14 but I've still got some brown spotting post MC so think O will be delayed. Although I haven't tried OPK so might do that later just to check. I'm trying to go with "laid back approach" but I can already feel BFN disappointment if AF turns up.

@Annonomous29 I really feel for you, this is such a tough point of the cycle I always found. I think as we get super tuned into every little body twinge when ttc as well, I definitely do. You're not out until AF shows up though...but I so know the waiting absolutely sucks. Sending hugs your way x

I caught up with a good friend this morning who is 30 weeks with DC2. I felt sad to start with, more so with her concern for me re the MC, but it was actually really nice and felt OK to be around a pregnant friend which I was glad about. I remember with MMC before DS I couldn't bare seeing pregnant women, so this feels like a strange positive. Got to take these little wins.
