Hello,

Would anyone like to join a thread for TTC after ectopic/miscarriage, or when facing other challenges eg age, PCOS etc? DP and I have just decided to try again for no2, and I'm going to come off the pill. It would be nice to have some buddies to share experiences and support each other 🙂

About me:

Pregnancy 1: conceived first cycle age 35, healthy pregnancy, DS born summer 2021 (now age 2)

Pregnancy 2: conceived first cycle age 37, ectopic, surgery November 2022

My plan is to eat well, exercise, cut out alcohol, and generally look after myself.

Because I got pregnant quickly both times, I'm hoping our chances are still good...no idea how only having the one fallopian tube is going to affect things 😬

I think I'll do OPKs but not sure about temping yet.

I don't know. I think it's not really "like" anything much when you're really early on haha. I take it with a pinch of salt on here when you see people saying they are 6dpo and really bloated, feeling exhausted etc etc, when they wouldn't even have any hcg in their system yet. I can see the attraction of symptom spotting if you haven't been TTC for long... But yeah I think a lot of the symptoms can be put down to people overanalyzing twinges that they wouldn't even have noticed if they weren't TTC.

Haha no, I'm not judging her, I mean, she is so lucky to just take it for granted that she will conceive no problem whenever she wants to. I wish all I had to complain about was giving up wine.

Yeah, you're probably right, but it's not so much the symptoms thing, it's that we've been trying so long that I've completely given up hope that it will happen.

Anyway, enough whining, really glad that you're entering ovulation week @YellowZ .

@SoulSeal how did the IVF go? Did they get lots of poor quality eggs, like you feared?

I have eight AMH too and will probably be heading down the IVF route.

high* AMH, not 8 (if it was 8 I'd be worried about it being too low).

@YellowZ my period is always on time normally it would start 13/14 dpo. So very unusual for it to be late im getting pains/cramping and alot more watery discharge sorry tmi so don’t know what’s happened tbh.

@CatCaretaker yh its true especially when your body is all over the place

Its also good that you are trying and taking baby steps its hard when everyone is getting BFPs around you and you still lingering…. Especially when you mentally prepare yourself for another one. Sending lots of love….

@Bumblesbee84 frustrating waiting for your body to get back into the swing of things when you're impatient to have another go. I hope the spotting stops soon.

@Annonomous29 it does sound stressful - hopefully you'll get an answer either way tomorrow. Will you try testing again?

Haha thanks for the congratulations on fertile week @CatCaretaker let's see what happens... wouldn't be surprised if I ovulate a bit later than the app thinks I will, as I always thought my cycles were on the longer side (but haven't tracked before). Sorry, I can imagine that it gets to a point where symptoms etc are a bit irrelevant, completely understandable to feel sad.

@YellowZ dont think so as when i test i get my hopes up only for it to come crashing down I think i will just wait for af to show i feel like this way i get less stressed 😩 I really don’t know what my flippin body is doing right now…

@Annonomous29 were you poorly as well as your kids? I wonder if it's thrown things off

@Annonomous29 Yes i was i had ear infection the other cold/flu symptoms funny thing is i have abdo cramps since 4/5 dec its mild cramps non stop in the pelvic area and to top things up i have mild back ache constantly also i get sudden pains in the left which then moves to the right. Thats why im fed up of my body playing up.

Update ladies af showed well I thought it showed as i had a little spotting of brown then bright red litterally wiped with tissue and it was gone about 1 hr ago since then everytime i wipe i see a little red on the tissue sorry for tmi this is really getting to me now my body is messing me around. Im cycle day 31 today 14dpo

@Annonomous29 ahh maybe good that AF has arrived in at least you know where your are now this month? So strange when our bodies confide us like that!

I did my first opk today and got a smiley face!! Was so surprised, only CD12 based on MC date and have had barely any EWCM when I normally get it days in advance. We haven't DTD since MC because of spotting. Which seems to have stopped today. I'm wondering if it's false positive or if I might not actually ovulate for a few days. I've been drinking all the coffee and all the wine and eating crap... so I definitely won't be holding out much hope for this cycle but will give it a good go!

Sorry I've been AWOL ladies I've been really trying not to dwell or talk about what's going on.

I've been at the hospital every single day for a week now. They've still not formally diagnosed an ectopic, but I've just had my 3rd scan in 6 days and the sonographer is fairly sure she can see it in my remaining tube now. My HCG is nearly 8000 now so how this tube is still hanging on I've no idea.

I'm really pushing for them to remove my last tube so I can be done with all these fucking ectopics, I'm sick of them. Over the weekend they were trying to push me towards methotrexate instead, considering they weren't sure where it was, but that would delay IVF etc by months and I really didn't want that.

@lemonyfox that's awful, sorry to hear you are stuck in that limbo. I though NICE guidelines for mexothrexate had a max hcg of 5000? It's annoying they aren't giving you want you want.

I had it with mine where I requested mexothexate as I really didn't want surgery, at the time hcg was 2000, they wouldn't give it to me as my hcg was coming down. In the end it ruptured when hcg was down to 400. On the plus side when it ruptured I went straight to surgery admissions not A&E as was already in the system.

@Confusedddddddd you're absolutely right, they had this conversation with me 4 days ago when my HCG was 2800 but they've bloody dithered so much over what to do that I'm now here with much higher HCG!

It's mad really because my second one ruptured at HCG 1214

@lemonyfox im so sorry for all of this worry that you are going through. Be your own advocate, it is your body and if you want tube removal then that is what you push for.

@lemonyfox this sounds utterly shite, I'm so sorry. It does feel like despite ectopics being not that uncommon, hospitals struggle to treat them efficiently. Hope they will operate soon x

I’m feeling slightly broken today. Cycle day 20 still not ovulated. So I thought maybe I’m pregnant and ovulated really early and missed it. Obviously the test was negative. Our own minds are our worst enemy, as if we don’t have enough to deal with.
