Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

@Ladyinpink1 Similar confusion here - temp isn’t going up and ov tests still sort of medium looking (though low by PreMom’s calculations). Starting to worry maybe I’m not ovulating this cycle, which has never happened before AFAIK. A watched ovary never pops!

Ladyinpink1 · 05/10/2023 07:59

Are you on cd16? @Oxalis00 Maybe you are going to ovulate a little later this cycle, it's still early days for you. Hope you get that pos opk and temp change very soon!
I had a positive opk and lots of ewcm but when I researched it, it said you can get all of those things and still not ovulate, only really the sustainted temp change can confirm. I feel like my body tried really hard but it was too soon maybe. x

Hi Everyone, sorry late to the party and new to this forum! Hope it's okay to join in :)

I have just ovulated on my second cycle after MMC in July (first baby, conceived quite quickly, bleed at 6 weeks, thought the worse but they saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks and then next scan no heartbeat and had a medically managed miscarriage)

This thread has made me feel so normal so thanks everyone for doing that!

2 weeks after my MMC I had loads of EWCM (more than normal) and nothing since! Tests are saying I have peaked but obviously can't be sure if I have ovulated.

First period after was completely painless which I wasn't expecting, second period was super painful and a week early which is unheard of for me normally! So now i feel a little bit broken and very impatient. I'd also convinced myself I was pregnant so quite upsetting.

Anyway I've just finished ovulating I think, so now have the joyous TWW

Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

SnookyPook · 05/10/2023 10:31

@wyto sorry for your loss - especially after the initial hope around 6wks and then the worst happening. That must have been a tough few weeks. Welcome to the tww... hopefully rainbow baby on its way soon 💕

@Ladyinpink1 @Oxalis00 sorry you're both in ovulation limbo. Hopefully things sort themselves out very soon. I think a bit of messed up cycle is extremely normal. I didn't even test for ovulation in the first cycle after my loss so no idea what was going on. I did have one slightly longer than usual cycle though, followed by a slightly shorter than usual and then back to my usual pattern. Hopefully things settle down soon.

8dpo here... this morning I woke up an hour before my alarm to cramping... 🤔 Going to be a long week now until AF due!

graceinc22 · 05/10/2023 18:06

Hey everyone. Great to see people are ovulating, hopefully people’s bodies getting ready to get pregnant again!

i don’t think I have ovulated after my loss end of august (at nearly 12 weeks…) - bbt all over the place. Some scattered ewcm but not a lot. Ovulation type pain most days - on one of my scans they said I had a cyst and I wonder if it’s still there. (Plus the PCOS ovaries that I have already, but those have never given me pain throughout my cycle!) x

@wyto so sorry for your loss and completely understand how you feel, especially when you're sure you're pregnant but it doesn't pan out.

TWW sucks but this and other forums have really helped remind me I'm not the only one in this boat 😌

@Bali200 did this end up being AF? I'm in a similar boat where I've started spotting brown today (nothing heavy or substantial, sorry TMI!) but wondering whether it's AF as well, even tho not due until next Tuesday. I'm also having cramping on my left side 😕

Bali200 · 05/10/2023 19:23

Hey @Liz2681 yes it is AF unfortunately, and she’s heavier than before, although I think my body could do with it tbh as my period after my mc was super light and had me worried about Asherman’s as I had surgical management. Hoping it’s not AF for you though 🤞🏼

@Ladyinpink1 sorry to hear your temp hasn’t risen, but definitely keep testing opks and see if you do get another surge later as I’ve read sometimes your body tries to ovulate, fails to release an egg and then tries again so don’t lose faith, although I know it’s annoying and upsetting when you don’t know what’s going on with your body x

Liz2681 · 05/10/2023 19:56

@Bali200 sorry to hear that 😔 it'll be good to start fresh so for the next cycle you have less to worry about. Will keep a lookout for AF in the meantime 😬

Oxalis00 · 05/10/2023 21:03

Welcome @wyto and @graceinc22 though I’m so sorry for your losses. Both really tough experiences 😢

@graceinc22 I’d say it looks encouraging that your temp has come down the last few days - that looks more like follicular phase. Did you do PT after the MC? Maybe it took a while for HCG to clear and hormones to resettle.

@Ladyinpink1 Thanks for your thoughts on my cycle sleuthing! I did actually get a higher OPK today (CD16) so will see what temp does tomorrow. I feel for you with the uncertainty about ovulation, it’s so hard not knowing what’s going on with your body when you just want to get back to baseline. You’ve been through a lot and it wouldn’t be a surprise if it took a while for cycles to reset. As hard as it is to keep waiting. Fingers crossed for things to settle soon though. Have you taken any new supplements or anything that might have delayed things? Or been ill? I had flu jab, don’t know if that makes a difference…

@SnookyPook I’ll try not to impose any unhelpful expectations on you, but 8DPO cramps is interesting! Crossing fingers x

Ladyinpink1 · 05/10/2023 22:09

Welcome @wyto and I'm sorry for your loss. Hopefully this is your last tww and that it goes in really fast for you 🙂 x

Thank you @SnookyPook 8dpo ooh getting so close now! x

@graceinc22 i'm similar in timings of loss to you, my loss was 19th August and also just a couple of days before 12 weeks and things have been strange for me too. With the timing of ewcm, bbt and my first period being wierd, spotting I never normally get etc so don't loose hope, I think it must take our bodies time to get back to normal. It's frustrating but you aren't alone, sending a hug! x

Thank you @Bali200 , I will do that. And I'm sorry AF has appeared for you. I hope this nice fresh new cycle is more normal and you gave good news very soon x

Thank you for the positivity @Oxalis00 and yay for the darker opk! That's great news, hoping for a temp shift in next few days for you.
Nothing that I think could change things. I will keep testing my opk as Bali said just incase x

Thanks for all your support everyone it means a lot and it's so nice not to feel alone with all these new body changes!

Is anyone else experiencing ovulation pain, well discomfort really, just constant twinges and mine seem to be from both sides, never had this before and wondering if I'm just more aware or if something else is going on?

Does anyone else think it's really bad after a miscarriage that they just tell you to do a PT and there's no follow up bloods or scan?

Ladyinpink1 · 06/10/2023 07:29

@wyto It's nice to chat to others that get you. I did wonder was it all definitely out and was everything ok after too, It's a sad thought but I would say you don't get a further scan unless there is an issue because these clinics are so busy. 😞
But I agree I feel like you should def have a follow up appointment after even to ask questions or have someone explain what the symptoms mean and what is going on with your body.
I have had 2 miscarriages in a row so I have been referred for tests etc but there is a waiting list so I went to my GP in the meantime and asked for blood tests, could you ask your gp for the same? Then at least you will get some reasurrance for now x

Ladyinpink1 · 06/10/2023 07:34

My temperature has shot up this morning, if it maintains for 3 days then I did ovulate after all, just maybe not when I thought, hoping it stays up. Although not sure we dtd enough at the right time but maybe I have a small chance after all... maybe lol.

How is everyone else this morning? Quite a few are close to the end of the tww, would be lovely to see some bfps x

Oxalis00 · 06/10/2023 07:34

@wyto I was definitely more aware of twinges, mood swings etc in the first couple of cycles after my MC was resolved. I don’t know if it was just increased awareness mentally and/or more physical sensitivity to hormones - or higher levels of those hormones. I guess there must still be tenderness and inflammation in there after a pregnancy/MC. Try to go easy on yourself.

I had a bad night’s sleep waking up repeatedly to take my temp, no idea what time it was (and totally counterproductive as you’re supposed to do it after a long stretch of sleep!) and when I checked in the morning it was saying 35.95! So no clue what to make of that. Google says underactive thyroid 😫 Gosh I hate this process, it makes me crazy!

Oxalis00 · 06/10/2023 07:42

@Ladyinpink1 Just seen your update - great to see your temp is up! That sounds really promising. Keep us posted.

wyto · 06/10/2023 08:27

@Ladyinpink1

I have thought about going to the gp but I'm not the biggest fan of doctors, needles etc (I call it white coat syndrome 🤣) I also think they'll brush me off and tell me it'll take 3 to 6 months blah blah before I'm back to normal and before anything can be done.

Oddly I was absolutely fine having all the tests, canulas etc when I was miscarrying, never had a blood test in my life out of a needle phobia and then had about 5 in 2 weeks 🙃

wyto · 06/10/2023 08:28

@Oxalis00

I hear you on the mood swings, my poor husband doesn't know where to look sometimes, I seem worse now than when it first happened!

Bali200 · 06/10/2023 14:37

@Ladyinpink1 thank you, this AF is like one I’ve never had before so maybe it’s a good sign, maybe not 😂 I have no cramps, but it’s heavy and bright red which is not normal for me, so we’ll see what happens, maybe my body could do with a big flush out.

Yay for the temp rise 🙌🏼 hope it stays high for you, how long is your cycle normally? X

RubyCat06 · 06/10/2023 14:54

I came across this thread after seeing it linked from another thread.
TTC after loss feels so different to how it felt before and reading this thread felt so familiar, so I wondered if I could join.
I had a miscarriage in August that completely blindsided my husband and I. I feel silly that I let myself think that it was not going to happen to me.
We are trying again, but trying not so put pressure on ourselves. Today is day 17 of my cycle. x

Oxalis00 · 06/10/2023 16:45

Welcome @RubyCat06 and I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s one thing knowing about MC in general terms but it’s such a shock (or totally surreal) when it actually happens to you. Good on you for going gently and trying not to put any pressure on TTC at the moment - your body and mind have been through a lot. I’m CD17 too - come and join the journey…

graceinc22 · 06/10/2023 17:29

@wyto yes I keep getting ovulation type pains (repeatedly through the cycle), mostly from one side - very odd. Might ask the clinic about that at my next fertility review (I’m going back on ovulation induction medication).

@RubyCat06 very sorry to hear of your loss. Just such a hard experience to go through. Wish you all the best with ttc x

RubyCat06 · 06/10/2023 18:33

Thanks for the replies 😊
Sending luck and best wishes to everyone.
My lovely GP did a massive range of blood tests for me and I got the results back today, every single one was perfect. I had wondered if I had a thyroid problem I didn’t know about. I guess it was just one of those things.

@Oxalis00 wow we are cycle twins! I will be trying to do no overthinking and symptom spotting. Honestly I have my guard up so high since the miscarriage. Good luck 🤞

Oxalis00 · 06/10/2023 19:53

@RubyCat06 Fingers crossed for you too! If you manage to avoid overthinking let me know your secret… 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ladyinpink1 · 06/10/2023 19:55

@Oxalis00 I do the same, I roll over through the night and then suddenly, I'm awake thinking oh I need to take my temp but when I check the time it's like 2am so I try really hard to get back to sleep so I have had enough sleep time to get an accurate temp when it's actually morning but i can't get back to sleep for worrying about the temps 🤣🤣 does that sound familiar?
And as to your strange temp, I get a morning temp that's weird after a bad night too. Hopefully you get a good sleep and it's back to normal tomorrow. x

@wyto Oh really, well I have heard about people getting their saliva tested that can show up any issues, it is apparently effective but would be need to be done privately. I'm not sure how else you could get the tests done that you had mentioned without having your blood taken, but i really dont know too much about it... maybe someone else on here will know or have an idea 🙂 x
