Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

@graceinc22

Good to know I'm not on my own!! Just hoping it doesn't mean I can't get pregnant again yet.

wyto · 06/10/2023 20:03

@Ladyinpink1 I will definitely go and see the gp if things continue, I just think I'll be turned away for the time being and told I need to wait for my body to get back to normal. Interesting about the saliva though!

Ladyinpink1 · 06/10/2023 20:04

@Bali200 I hope it's just clearing everything out for you and then next cycle is textbook with a good strong opk and temp rise 🙂
Well I was just checking before I answered your question, before my first loss it was 28 days but after that and before this most recent miscarriage it was 25/26 days so I'm really not sure this time around lol. Maybe somewhere in the middle x

I'm sorry for your loss @RubyCat06 and pleased to hear all was well with your tests! That's always a relief especially when you are hoping to try again. I am also on cd17 🙂 x

@RubyCat06 - glad you joined us. So sorry for your loss though. I agree - even though I obviously knew about miscarriage, and had even had people close to me go through them, I was a bit naive about really believing it could happen to me. Ah well.

That's great that your GP has done all those blood tests, and really reassuring. It sounds like you did just get unlucky and next time, everything will go perfectly 🤞🏻💕🌈

Liz2681 · 07/10/2023 16:07

Well looks like I'm out this month - AF arrived yesterday and is in full swing today. Probably for the best as I'd yet to have a period following MC so hoping this resets things somewhat.

Good luck with this cycle to the rest of you ladies! xx

Wise0wl · 07/10/2023 18:16

Hello ladies, am feeling pretty lonely so hoping I can join you.

TTC baby #2 after a MMC in July. Didn’t quite realise how much I was hoping for a bfp in September and am sort of holding our hope for this month, but am on CD23 and have some pink spotting. My last cycle was short too - spotting on CD23 and AF on CD24 so am pretty certain I’m out.

Has anyone else had shorter cycles after pregnancy loss? Not sure if I should speak to my GP, or if shorter cycles are a problem?

Ladyinpink1 · 07/10/2023 21:07

I'm sorry about AF arriving @Liz2681 I hope this fresh new cycle brings good news ❤️ x

Hi @Wise0wl nice to have you join us 🙂, I'm sorry you have been feeling that way, but you are definitely not alone. It's so dissapointing when you get your hopes up isn't it. I think a few have said their first cycle or 2 weren't the same as before. x

OP posts:
Liz2681 · 07/10/2023 21:30

thanks @Ladyinpink1 - staying optimistic and keeping fingers (and toes) crossed for this next cycle!

Hi @Wise0wl so sorry about your loss 😞 there's a few of us on here going through very similar experiences so please don't feel you're alone ❤️

In terms of short cycles, I had a chemical last month, and my next cycle was very short (26 days vs my usual 30-32 days). Think it's just my body readjusting after the chemical, so hopefully no reason why it shouldn't go back to normal after a couple of cycles.

If you're finding your cycles not reverting back to normal though, it can't hurt speaking to your GP even if it's for a little peace of mind x

Wise0wl · 07/10/2023 22:30

Thanks @Ladyinpink1 & @Liz2681 - it’s so helpful to have found others going through similar. It’s also really hard not to over analyse everything! Here’s hoping we all get lucky soon. X

wyto · 08/10/2023 08:17

@Wise0wl
Sounds like we had our miscarriages around the same time and a very similar first cycle too! My normal cycle was around 28/29 days and my first one after was 23 days!

Oddly I had some discharge yesterday (sorry tmi) so I decided to do an OPK and I had quite a dark line on it! My peak was 3rd of October and either side of that very light lines and then yesterday all of a sudden a darkish line (lighter than the control line still) so now I'm really confused!

RubyCat06 · 08/10/2023 10:05

@wyto i just wanted to say in relation to seeing the GP. My experience was that they are very understanding and had no issues taking bloods. They took it seriously and didn’t turn me away 💕 I hope you are ok.
@Wise0wl When I came off the pill a few years ago I had very short cycles - no problems and got pregnant with no issues (my daughter is currently cuddled on my knee watching peppa). So may not be an issue 🩷
I guess I’m now in my first 2 week wait since the miscarriage. Just feel flat about it all and like it’s not going to happen.

Oxalis00 · 09/10/2023 12:15

Hi everyone, there’s loads to catch up on and I’ve read all the messages. Sorry that some of you (us!) are struggling with uncertainty around our bodies/cycles, esp after MC. It’s hard being so focussed on TTC, I feel like I’m wishing my life away sometimes... Currently on CD20 and only just got a higher BBT this morning, though peak ovulation test was CD16, so I don’t know if I’ve ovulated or when, and if I did DTD was probably not well timed (only CD13 and 16). PreMom says CD17 but that’s changed since last week. Still hoping though…! 😬 Are people planning to test, or holding out for AF?

Haylsttc · 09/10/2023 12:17

Sorry haven’t messaged in a few days, been super busy!

Welcome to everyone who has just joined @wyto@graceinc22@RubyCat06@Wise0wl so sorry for all of your losses ❤️

AF arrived on Sunday at what I think would be around 12dpo, obviously not what I wanted but that’s a longer luteal phase for me as sometimes I only make it to 9dpo! Onto the next cycle 😅

Ladyinpink1 · 09/10/2023 21:22

@Oxalis00 You are not alone feeling it's taking over, we first started trying in October last year and had waited to track cycles a few months previous, so it's now over a year, and 2 lost pregnancys later and I'm back to square 1 so alot of time has been spent on this.

I am on cd20 now too and I also had a delay before my temp started to rise. Cd 16 is good for dtd for you, I think it's better to have the swimmers waiting 👍 Did your temp go up a bit yesterday or was today the first day it rose?

I always early test 🙈 but I have figured out a strange pattern from my pregnancys so far, I keep a record of each cycle and each month at about 6dpo until af I get sore breasts, the times I have been pregnant I haven't got sore breasts until a good bit later, so I will just wait for sore breasts instead, it's like a whole other level of obsessing 🤣 but we dtd a bit too early this cycle I think so not sure how good our chances are. What about you, will you test or wait? x

Oh my goodness I have really blabber away in my comment to you 😄 aw well, it's nice to talk to others and so i'm positing it anyway

OP posts:
Oxalis00 · 09/10/2023 21:35

Haha @Ladyinpink1 I love the blabbering! It’s so reassuring to share the journey. Makes me feel (a bit) less mad…!

Here’s my temp chart. I’ve read it’s over 36.4 that signals ovulation, and today was the first time it did that. (CD6 was a weird high when I was a bit feverish, I think in response to 2yo DD’s nasal flu vaccine…!) I have been taking a different prenatal vitamin and also got my own flu jab this month, so don’t know if those might have delayed ovulation, but it doesn’t really explain the gap between peak OPK and temp rise. Possibly I’ve just been sleeping with my mouth open?!

I’m incredibly impressed by the precision of your symptom record keeping! Here’s hoping those boobs don’t get sore for a good while yet!

Cd1 of ttc first cycle after loss... anyone want to join me? 🙂
Ladyinpink1 · 09/10/2023 21:38

@Oxalis00 blabbering away I meant

@Haylsttc I'm so sorry to hear AF arrived, hope you can habe lots of nice chocolate and dont have too long to wait for your next opk, but that's brilliant you got a longer luteal phase. Hope the rest of this month brings good news on the thread. x

How is everyone else doing? x

OP posts:
Ladyinpink1 · 09/10/2023 21:55

This is different from the app I use, so the purple line is your temp, what is the red line? Is it your fertility peak? Once your temp stays up for 3 days + then it means that you ovulated. I was reading about this the other day and when you get the + opk, you can ovulate 12 to 48 hours later, and if you ovulated later in the morning (after you took that morning bbt) then you wouldn't get a temp rise until the following day... could that account for the days? x

OP posts:
Oxalis00 · 09/10/2023 22:17

Thanks for your thoughts @Ladyinpink1. Red line is ovulation test, yes - the app looks at the test and calculates the strength of test line as a ratio to control line. I didn’t realise ov was up to 48 hours after LH peak, I thought it was 12-24. Interesting! We’ll see what temp does tomorrow then…

Ladyinpink1 · 09/10/2023 22:27

I seen it here ⬇️ but then after reading your reply I checked another site and it said 36 hours so... 🤷‍♀️

@Ladyinpink1 thats a really interesting post. I was of the understanding that it was most important to have sex in the few days before ovulation. It all blows my mind.
@Oxalis00 your chart is amazing, I wouldn’t know where to start. Do you find it helps to pinpoint things?
@Haylsttc make sure you have lots of chocolate and put your feet up 😘

Ladyinpink1 · 10/10/2023 06:07

Hi @RubyCat06 Yes I totally agree with you, you must of missed my previous comment ... I think dtd days leading up to ovulation is most important so the swimmers are waiting for the egg too 👍 🙂.

I had just posted that screenshot to show ovulation can happen a little later after opk to help account for @Oxalis00 's delay in temperature rise

How are you getting on? x

OP posts:
Oxalis00 · 10/10/2023 07:58

@RubyCat06 Personally I find it helpful to have as much information as I can about what’s going on in my body, as my MC was quite complicated and the uncertainty was hard. But…it can become obsessive, it can create worries unnecessarily if you have an odd reading or miss a test, and it probably doesn’t help with the ‘just relax!’ vibe for TTC 🤦🏻‍♀️ Everyone’s different I guess, and what works at one point doesn’t always suit… 🤷🏻‍♀️

RubyCat06 · 10/10/2023 09:20

@Ladyinpink1 im so sorry I must have missed that 🙈 was thinking I may have missed my chance this month as only managed a few days around mid cycle.
@Oxalis00 thats so interesting! I’m so sorry your miscarriage was so complicated. It’s so hard and I’m really sorry. I’ll keep watching your charts, I feel I would become obsessive. I try and say im staying chill but I’m reality I am not at all 🫣

Haylsttc · 10/10/2023 09:25

Thanks ladies ❤️ Trying to stay positive and hope October is the month 🤞

@RubyCat06 I too wouldn’t know where to start with the bbt charting, I wish I had the commitment to do it though! I tried natural cycles before we started ttc but I kept forgetting to take my temperature at the right time 🙈

@Oxalis00 interesting you mentioned taking a new prenatal might have delayed ovulation for you! This happened to me a couple of cycles ago, I bought a new prenatal and my ovulation was delayed to cycle day 20 when normally it’s around day 15 or 16! So I stopped talking it and went back to the vitamins I was actually using when we conceived.

Decided I’m going to start tracking again this cycle using ovulation strips! Which brand do you guys recommend? I have some easy at home left from a couple of cycles ago but need to buy some more! I also have the clear blue ovulation test kit too but like to do strips alongside that when I’m tracking

Ladyinpink1 · 10/10/2023 11:50

@RubyCat06 no no, not at all, and i'm sorry, I hope my reply didn't sound rude, i typed it fast just before I got up🙂 and I am the same as you we only dtd the days before this cycle and then I ovulated later than I thought but I think by that stage we were too worn out to be doing the days after too 😅 definitely I have read when you have fertile cm before ovulation is the best time.
And I obsess terribly, I think you feel the need to be doing something don't you x
