Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

Hello! I am on my first cycle TTC after a mmc at 10 weeks in July. This was my first pregnancy so I'm very anxious. I feel like TTC is all I can think about at the minute 🙈 I'm 3dpo so it's going to be a long 2 weeks wait!

Aaliyahrae · 20/09/2023 21:21

I feel the exact same! Promised myself I wouldn’t be obsessed but cannot stop logging every single ‘symptom’ I get (I’m sure I’m imagining half of them!)

Ladyinpink1 · 21/09/2023 15:55

@MixedCouple yes you can use the same type, any bbt thermometer really 🙂

That's good that you have that time to yourself. My 2 get up about 6:15 so I just get up at the same time. x

@Bali200 I felt the same false security from the scan, it's very sad. I'm not sure about the spotting but because it's early days, it could just be your body still trying to get back to normal? Hoping ov day is soon for you.
Yes no problem, my cycles never did return to normal, by that I mean they stayed lighter than before... bleeding (not heavy) for maybe 2 days then a little light spotting the days after, and it was on the 5th cycle after the miscarriage we fell preg again... Still with those light cycles.
I am now on cd 2, or 3 (not sure whether to count spotting as day 1 or not)anyway, of my first period since that loss and it's alot heavier than those periods were, so I don't know if that's a good or bad sign. I just hope it doesn't take 5 months this time! Legs shall be in the air lots this time 😂 x

Hi @Aaliyahrae I'm sorry for your loss, we are also ttc dc3. And I am right there with you with the obsessing over ttc, I use opks, bbt, charts etc, but I have to admit I enjoy having something to focus on while ttc :) Have you long to wait until after is due? x

@Sunflower8092 hi, I'm sorry for your loss, hoping your two goes in quickly and has good news at the end 🙂 x

Joining this thread too, so sorry for everyone’s loses ❤️

I’m on my 3rd cycle of trying after a MMC at 9 weeks 2 days, we had saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks 2 days so it was a huge shock to get the bad news.

I’m not tracking this cycle as I’ve found the last two cycles so stressful using ovulation tests. Hoping this is 3rd cycle lucky 🍀

Good luck to everyone else too!

Sunflower8092 · 21/09/2023 21:45

@Haylsttc I'm sorry for your loss, it must have been a terrible shock for you 💔 yeah hopefully this is third time lucky!

TTC can be very stressful, especially after a loss. I have my fingers crossed that this is the month for your rainbow baby 🌈

Bali200 · 22/09/2023 12:45

@SnookyPook so sorry for your losses, it must have been so difficult to go through the CP not long after your MMC 😔 what CD are you now? I think the thing with feeling like time is dragging is because it feels like ‘lost time’. As it’s 6 weeks today since I had my 12 week scan, but it seems like a lifetime ago that I found out I was pregnant in June and there’s nothing to show for it. It just feels like it was all a dream.

@Ladyinpink1 thank you, I think it doesn’t help that my cycles were irregular before my loss so I’m still trying to figure out what ‘my normal’ is, but I hope I get there soon! I came off mini-pill end Jan, didn’t get a period until end-March so only had 3 x periods before I fell pregnant with my loss, with ov ranging from CD15-CD21. A quick google tells me the brown spotting could be a hormone imbalance/lack of oestrogen so hoping it sorts itself out this cycle and doesn’t have any long lasting problems.

Even though I have no hopes for this cycle, I hear you on the legs in the air, I’ve been getting the practice in and DP can’t believe his luck 😂 pre-mom is putting my ov as CD15 and natural cycles says CD18 so we’ve been covering our bases this week.

I’m CD12 and have already done 3x LH test strips today which are all BFN’s. Dear god I need help 😂

Ladyinpink1 · 22/09/2023 17:44

Hi @Haylsttc I'm sorry for your loss. There are others on the thread doing the relaxed approach too this cycle. What cd are you on? I'm right at the start of my cycle so feel like I have ages to wait! x

@Bali200 do you take supplements at all? I am quite effected by any hormone changes, so I take quite a few vitamins etc, but b6 and omega are 2 I take that are both are meant to help regulate hormones (haylsttc and I were recently chatting on another thread about the B6, it really works and is safe for pregnancy too)
Aw when you get close to your ovulation date it's so hard not to go crazy obsessive, and then when yiu are feeling a bit fed up, your positive opk just comes out of nowhere... hoping soon for you! x

SnookyPook · 22/09/2023 23:12

@Bali200 CD11 counting from first day of my bleed from the CP. Feel like CM is changing a little the last couple of days and very slight rise on opk which usually happens day before my peak which happens quite quickly... would be a teeny bit early if I peak tomorrow but within realms of normalish.

And thank you... yeah it's been tough. Totally get you on the weirdness of time. It's like, right back to square 1, when, if all had gone well, I'd be a month off my due date now. And then to have had another loss.. it's almost like I'm going backwards at this point! It's tough isn't it.

Ahaha my DH asked earlier where I'm at in my cycle and when he is most needed and I said, well, probably the next 4-6 days... and he was like "bloody hell, it's like doing an IronMan" 😂

Bali200 · 23/09/2023 21:03

@Ladyinpink1 ooh that’s interesting about the b6 and omega, do you know the recommended dosage? I started taking pregnacare with my loss, took a break for 3 weeks after the mc and I’ve been taking the pregnacare conception for the past 3 weeks, but I’ve checked and there’s no omega in them so I might check that out, thanks! Thank you, I had never used the strips until after the mc so I don’t really know what I’m doing with them but think I’m just going to stick with tracking bbt and try a relaxed mindset from the next cycle 🤞🏼

Focusing on ttc is helping me deal with the loss but I know realistically that it’s unlikely to happen this month with stressing over tests and my cycle being a bit haywire. I also consumed a lot of cocktails on holiday earlier this week 😂 how are you getting on? X

Vic231 · 23/09/2023 21:43

Hi everyone, I hope I can join. I'm so sorry to read about all of your losses.

I lost my daughter late last year at 25 weeks after a TFMR. I've since had two miscarriages, one at 5 weeks and one at 6 weeks. The last one at the start of this month. I sadly don't have any living children.

We have been referred for blood tests and they are next week, has anyone had these before? Is there anything we can ask? I know it will then be a wait to see a consultant but the the EPU said they would be able to tell us quite quickly if there was anything obviously wrong. I'm just so eager to try again! X

Bali200 · 23/09/2023 21:44

@SnookyPook I think we’re at similar points in our cycle, I’m CD13 today but tend to have a longer follicular phase so I’m not expecting to ovulate until CD18 and still no peaks on opk yet, how about you? Ahaha I love the Ironman comment, it’s so true 😂

We have been dtd every 2-3 days just in case it’s early and will try and go every day from tomorrow although I’m already knackered! When I fell pregnant with my loss it was from just one time, the day before ov, so it makes me wonder if less is more sometimes?!

Yes it’s really tough and I’m sorry to hear your due date is approaching 😔 I think after a loss we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to fall pregnant again quickly to try to fill the void in our bellies and our hearts but in reality our bodies and minds need time to heal 💗

Bali200 · 23/09/2023 21:53

Hi @Vic231 I’m so sorry to hear of your losses, that is particularly tough 😔 I’m glad to hear though that you have been referred quickly for blood tests after your most recent loss, I hope you can get some answers soon. Sending lots of hugs your way 💐

moosey89 · 24/09/2023 09:33

@Vic231 I've just had a heap of bloods done for miscarriage and fertility checks. If you have the Patient Access app you can see all your results as soon as they are there, along with the normal range so you can see easily if anything looks like it'll need further investigation.

The ones you can't get before seeing the consultant are things like genetic tests, as they have to be ordered by the specialist. I've got my appointment 27 November, my GP put the referral in mid August x

Vic231 · 24/09/2023 10:48

@moosey89 thank you! This is great! think I have this app.. is it the one where you order prescriptions and also keeps a record of appointments? I've just gone on and saw it has letters confirming miscarriage so I assume this is where I'd also see the results?

Those timings sound the same for us, the midwife said it's the wait on seeing the consultant that's the time consuming bit. She said we'd be looking at December time or into January.

Are you still going to TTC whilst you wait to see a consultant? I think once we've had bloods done and as long as there isn't anything abnormal, then that is our plan. The midwife said we can be prescribed progesterone if we fell pregnant again in the meantime.

moosey89 · 24/09/2023 10:56

@Vic231 yup sounds like the same app - there's a section called "results" and they'll pop up in there.

Yeah that was our approach too, the only thing that came out of my bloods was progresterone at day 21 was borderline, and the EPU said the same to me about getting a prescription from them if I got pregnant again in the meantime so we thought why not. Might as well keep on trying!

Haylsttc · 24/09/2023 13:13

@Sunflower8092 thank you, got my fingers crossed for you too 🌈

@Ladyinpink1 thank you ❤️ I think I’m around cycle day 10 - 13 not 100% sure with my deleting my apps. What cycle day are you on, you must be getting close to ovulation now? 😊

Ladyinpink1 · 24/09/2023 15:35

@Bali200 I just buy my omega from asda or similar and take one a day. I take 100mg of b6 a day, 200mg a day the week before my period when I'm 😠 lol
Cocktails on holiday sounds perfect, did you have a good time? They say when you are relaxed (like on holiday) there Is a better chance of conceiving so I'm hopeful for you. I'm doing OK, my period was 3 days then day 4 nothing then today tiny bit of spotting so I'm not hopeful for this cycle now. x

Ladyinpink1 · 24/09/2023 16:12

@Vic231 I'm sorry for your losses. I have been referred for testing through the epu also (6 week wait) after my loss last month, so i'm still waiting. Gp did overall bloods in meantime and they were OK so I am still going to ttc while I wait. I hope you get answers and solutions next week and let us know how you get on x

@Haylsttc cd 10 - 13 is good, close to ovulation for you I hope!

I am only on cd5 😩 lol I feel like it's taking forever. Not sure if I will ovulate as this is my first cycle but if I do, normally about cd14 ish. x

Oxalis00 · 24/09/2023 16:22

@Ladyinpink1 My periods have been much lighter and shorter since my MC (and/or since the two surgeries I had to complete it). Just two days of medium flow, and a little spotting either side. I’m sure it used to be 5 days, with one heavy day and two or three medium. It’s been a while though, as I was on the pill for a year before conceiving DD, then on the (mini-)pill again for 2+ years after her birth, so I’m a fair bit older now. Are you thinking your period this month was a problem for some reason?

Ladyinpink1 · 24/09/2023 17:02

Hi @Oxalis00 no, I don't think a light period indicates that I wouldn't be able to conceive, I conceived in May with a light cycle (2 days flow then 4 days light/spotting)
but now this cycle is my first since my miscarriage in August, it seems it was only a 2.5 to 3 day period, so I feel like my body isn't back to normal (whatever normal is for me now ) and so my chances of conceiving are slim this cycle because my period has been so short... if all of that makes sense?

I am "older" now too, so you have company 😊 I'm 35 but like to pretend I'm 28 when asked x

OP posts:
Oxalis00 · 24/09/2023 19:34

It’s a bit of a mystery in there isn’t it… So much to speculate about! I don’t know whether having a miscarriage would change something with the womb lining, or responsiveness to hormones. Maybe our bodies have just become much more efficient?! Possibly there’s anaemia after MC blood loss making a difference, too. Well, let’s see how this cycle goes for us both! I’ve conceived pretty quickly before (within a couple of months, both times) so my worry is more about the quality of sperm+egg, and how it develops and how long I can hold onto it. But I’m almost 38 now, so we’ll see! Good luck to us both :)

Anotheranxiousone · 24/09/2023 20:23

Can I ask what your progesterone number was @moosey89?

moosey89 · 24/09/2023 20:42

@Anotheranxiousone it was 14.5
