Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

@Bugdem123 Lovely to see you over here! Good luck for TTC this month. 😊

Went out and got some tests, now very tempted to do one this afternoon/evening - which is why I made a point of not keeping any in the house! Determined to hold off until tomorrow morning though.

Wise0wl · 27/11/2023 13:10

Congratulations @SunSparkle !

And so sorry you’re so poorly @Aaliyahrae

I’m lurking in the background while I await my second scan at EPU on Friday (I wouldn’t have been offered one routinely, only have it because of spotting). I have no symptoms at all apart from tiredness which makes me feel very nervous (I know we have to be careful what we wish for… and I had symptoms with my MMC so I know it doesn’t necessarily mean anything!) even the spotting has stopped in the last couple of days. So, we’ll see what Friday brings…

@Bali200 how far along are you now? So exciting, I’m so happy for you!

Gem0302 · 27/11/2023 13:47

@SunSparkle huge congratulations to you. Sorry to hear your epu won’t scan you routinely.

@Aaliyahrae sorry to hear you’re so poorly. I hope your GP appointment goes well and you get some meds that work better.

@Bugdem123 welcome, I’m pretty new here too. Good luck this month.

@Bali200 that’s wonderful news about your early scan.

Im 7dpo trying to remain positive but struggling. Can’t decide if to test this month or just see if AF arrives.

CluelessInLondon · 27/11/2023 16:35

Looks like AF might be arriving for me. 😕It's so confusing - I'm still feeling sick, which is absolutely not a normal period symptom for me, and all I've had so far is a bit of pink/brown spotting, so I guess I just need to see if it gets heavier. I don't normally get much if any spotting at the start of my period, it normally goes to full flow pretty quickly, so I might have a better idea by the time I go to bed. It doesn't help that because of the miscarriage I now second-guess absolutely everything that my body is doing in a way I never used to - it's like having a complete loss of confidence in whether anything is happening the way that it should.

Wise0wl · 27/11/2023 16:52

@CluelessInLondon I’m so sorry - you’ve articulated it so well in the loss of confidence comment. All I will say is that I had spotting in my first (successful) pregnancy, so much so that I thought I’d had a very light and weird period. It’s so hard to tell when there is no ‘normal’ anymore (and you can’t even trust whatever normal was). 🤞🤞🤞 x

Haylsttc · 27/11/2023 17:32

@SunSparkle congratulations on your bfp ❤️ out of interest did you do anything differently this cycle? 😊

@Bali200 aw I’m so glad to hear everything was looking good on the scan 🥰

@Bugdem123 of course, welcome to the thread 💕 Typical about your in-laws coming the weekend you’re ovulating haha! I’ve used the advanced digital opks this cycle and liked them, the smiley face stopped me second guessing when peak was 😊

@Ladyinpink1 I’m classing myself as 1dpo today too since my peak was Saturday. However I don’t temp so technically today could be ovulation day as it does say you could ovulate up to 48hrs after peak. Hope you’re not feeling too bad with Covid! I was really poorly in my last two week wait and although I didn’t get a bfp I did A LOT of googling and it seemed people had got pregnant even though they had had Covid or flu in their two week wait, so I wouldn’t worry too much!

@CluelessInLondon sorry to hear you think AF could be starting 😔

SunSparkle · 27/11/2023 17:56

@Haylsttc i did! Firstly I took soy isoflavones - no idea if they helped but I definitely ovulated.

and two I discovered the previous month by temping that I ovulate very late in my short cycle. So the previous few months we were timing it with what the apps predicted as my ovulation date when I actually ovulate 6 days later.

I was getting fed up getting negative ovulation tests and giving up for the month convinced I wasn’t ovulating but actually I was just much later.

I used Ovusense to temp but I wouldn’t say that’s necessary.

Oxalis00 · 27/11/2023 19:06

Still no peak! Went a bit mad today and POAS about 5 times. Didn’t magic up a positive though! 😫 Starting to worry I’ve gone straight from MC to menopause 😕

Cd1 of ttc first cycle after loss... anyone want to join me? 🙂
ThelastRolo20 · 27/11/2023 19:16

@Oxalis00 I'm the same.😭 Technically not expecting peak until tomorrow but they're essentially blank so can't see it happening magically overnight. Just have to keep testing but it's so frustrating x

ThelastRolo20 · 27/11/2023 19:17

@Oxalis00 yours are a lot stronger than mine. I can't even see a line 🤦‍♀️

Ladyinpink1 · 27/11/2023 19:28

@Vic231 5 days out of 8 is great, you are in with a good chance. I know these 2 weeks go so slow don't they. We have stuck to the smep despite the covid, just dtd again tonight so we have a day off tomorrow. Lol. x

Lots of ewcm is good, and good things are back on track now @ThelastRolo20 x

Lovely news @Bali200 i know it's not complete reasurrance, but I hope you feel a little better after that x

Sorry things are so complicated for you not knowing right now @CluelessInLondon that must be very frustrating, some ladies can get an implantation bleed too I have heard. Has it got any heavier? x

Thank you for the positivity @Haylsttc I have been having quite a bit of ewcm today again wondering maybe is that from being sick as it should be away by now but then read your 48 hour comment so maybe just a little later x

Thanks for the solidarity @ThelastRolo20 - it’s nice to have company! I’m sorry you’re stuck in this frustrating place too though. I’m worrying now the stress is stopping ovulation somehow, which obv makes me more stressed! What OPKs are you using? I had some skinny One Step ones which I hate, there’s nothing showing up on them at all. Easy@home are better but now I’m going to have to buy some more!

I completely understand what your saying. I also have no idea when I am due but feel absolutely awful, feel as though my body is trying to play tricks on me.

Ladyinpink1 · 27/11/2023 19:36

@Oxalis00 It will come tomorrow or the next day . The day of mine can vary quite a bit each month and it's frustrating when you are waiting for it. And remember it can suddenly peak with no build up, that is what happened to me this cycle x

Hi @Bugdem123 how inconsiderate of your in laws 😂. SMEP is meant to work so we will see in a few weeks as a few on here are trying it but it's basically sex every other day from cd8 then 3 days in a row from your peak opk, a rest day then once more. I think that's pretty much it. Tomorrow is our "rest day" lol x

OP posts:
ThelastRolo20 · 27/11/2023 19:39

@Oxalis00 oh yeah I'm using those skinny ones that show bugger all 😂 but I have had a peak on them before, I think their threshold must be quite high then before anything even shows. Just need to be patient and keep testing - just hoping I ovulate at some point. Absolutely solidarity here - let's check in tomorrow with where we're at. We're both full of cold anyway so tonight wouldn't have been a great night in any case

Haylsttc · 27/11/2023 20:25

@SunSparkle thank you! I’ve been ovulating later in my cycle too recently, last month it was cycle day 21 and this cycles it’s been cycle day 17 😊

@Oxalis00 @ThelastRolo20 please don’t panic! For some reason last cycle I didn’t ovulate until cycle day 21, it felt like such a long wait but I finally got my peak 🥲 this cycle I got my peak cycle day 16 so just shows you how things can differ each cycle!

@Ladyinpink1 well done on sticking to SMEP! We messed up on the every other day part of it so ended up doing 8, 10, 12, 15, 16 and 17. We should technically do tonight but I don’t think we will, I think we’ll use it as the rest day and go tomorrow instead 😂 Either way I’m happy with our attempt this cycle!

ThelastRolo20 · 27/11/2023 20:32

@Haylsttc thank you - I think these strips I'm using are pretty brutal too which can be quite demoralising but hoping for a rapid peak 😂

Bali200 · 27/11/2023 20:39

Thank you everyone for the lovely words 💗 x

Last time we lost the baby soon after the private scan at 8+4, although we didn’t find out until 12 weeks, so I do have that in the back of my mind constantly and it’s the next scan at 10 weeks that I’m already dreading but it was really lovely to see the heartbeat yesterday, it definitely made me shed a few tears 🥹

They dated me 7+0 yesterday which is correct to my ovulation date and what Natural Cycles had dated me as. (I was 7+3 when going off LMP but I knew I didn’t ovulate until cd18 so it makes sense to be a few days behind).

@CluelessInLondon I really hope that this is implantation spotting for you 🤞🏼 x

Bali200 · 27/11/2023 20:41

Also welcome @Bugdem123, sending you lots of energy for SMEP and good luck for this cycle x

Bugdem123 · 27/11/2023 21:14

@Oxalis00 I find I have faint lines on my OPKs and then it rapidly darkens one day before rapidly going back to faint lines by the next morning. Every month I think it isn't going to happen and then it does. Hopefully yours is the same soon.

@CluelessInLondon I'm sorry you're spotting, how are you feeling now? Not for the first time, you've managed to articulate something I'm feeling - it's so hard to no longer have the confidence in your body you used to and to no longer be able to trust it'll just do what it's supposed to do and has been doing.

@Haylsttc @Ladyinpink1 hopefully we can manage to squeeze it in at some point 😅 I'm close to my MIL but maybe not that much haha.

@Gem0302 thank you! I've never managed to hold off until the day my period is due to test but I'm always so impressed with people who do. I think because I wfh and am home alone a lot of the day I just can't help myself 😅

SunSparkle · 27/11/2023 21:16

Fingers crossed for you @CluelessInLondon

CluelessInLondon · 27/11/2023 22:51

Thanks everyone for the lovely messages and support! ❤️ Spotting has got a bit heavier but still nothing like a proper period - it's more like the kind of bleeding I usually get at the tail end of my period, and it's still all brown/pink so looks like old blood. Just really confusing! If it isn't any heavier in the morning I might just take a test anyway - at least if it's negative then I know I'm probably just waiting for AF to show up properly.

ThelastRolo20 · 28/11/2023 06:55

@Oxalis00 still completely blank this morning - how are yours looking?

ThelastRolo20 · 28/11/2023 08:18

So I've officially lost the plot and have brought my pee cup and an OPK into work so I can test late morning as I've convinced myself this morning's was 0.00000001% lighter than yesterday's 🤦‍♀️😂

CluelessInLondon · 28/11/2023 09:00

@ThelastRolo20 Don't worry, I do that too, so there's at least two of us doing our OPKs in the office!

Definitely AF for me now, spotting turned into full flow overnight. 😔I'm absolutely gutted - I was trying not to get sucked in by all of the stories you read about people getting pregnant on the first try after MC, but I think the combination of it being the first go after a loss and the last opportunity to be pregnant before Christmas has just hit me really hard, and it almost feels like experiencing a loss all over again. I'm trying to see the positives in it - I can eat and drink whatever I want over Christmas, and maybe now I've got through that first cycle I'll be able to relax a bit more - but at the moment it's quite hard to take because it means Christmas will really be nothing like I was expecting. I think everyone on this thread can probably empathise with that feeling.
