Hi 🙋‍♀️, just as the title says, I am now on cd1 of my first cycle after a loss at 11+4 (stopped growing just after a scan showing strong heartbeat at 8 -9w)

Feeling nervous but positive about a new cycle ...but finding it hard to think of anything else other than ttc 🙂

Happy for some company to obsess with over these next weeks x

CD28 and I said I wouldn’t test until Monday but I tested today and got a BFP.

I used the boots early response tests as couldn’t get the first response ones.

im very nervous and just going to take each day as it comes. Probably get a couple of private scans booked in. It’s hard after loss to just feel excited. And I’m dreading the return of the hyperemesis. But also grateful to have the chance to get a BFP. Lots of conflicting emotions.

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 19:05

@SunSparkle How exciting, congratulations! Keeping fingers crossed for you that this is a sticky bean. ❤ Do you have a local EPU/EGU where they would scan you early because of the previous loss?

Ladyinpink1 · 26/11/2023 19:09

Oh woah lovely news, @CluelessInLondon and you were right about the nausea! 🙂congratulations! 🎊 x

@SunSparkle congratulations!! I know the sickness is very scary. Can you speak to your GP about starting meds now?

Came on here to check to see how everyone is getting on. How are you all?
I am so unwell. On medication but it isn’t doing much so will go back and see if I can get a different prescription on Monday. Cannot even keep water down, I feel really poorly and I’m so thirsty. Currently having to stick my tongue in glasses of weak squash but not actually full on swallow so I’m not sick! Counting down the days to feel normal again.

Sending my love and positivity to all those in/entering their TWW. I’ll pop in again soon. xxx

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 19:20

Oh no @Aaliyahrae , sorry to hear the medication isn't working - really hope you can get something that works better tomorrow.

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 19:44

@CluelessInLondon thank you! I just want to shut my eyes and feel better. Feel ridiculous. How are you?

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 19:50

@Aaliyahrae I'm alright, just both kind of excited and kind of terrified to see whether AF shows up tomorrow! Really hoping the bits and pieces of symptoms I've been having over the last two or three days are a good sign, but I don't want to get carried away and then end up disappointed. I guess everyone on this thread knows that feeling.

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 20:14

@CluelessInLondon I remember that feeling! Are you testing tomorrow or going to leave it a couple of days? Ah I have everything crossed for you. Did you try anything new this cycle? xx

graceinc22 · 26/11/2023 20:18

@Aaliyahrae that sounds absolutely horrendous - hope the doctor can give some proper help tomorrow. Do you think you’re dehydrated? X

SunSparkle · 26/11/2023 20:31

@CluelessInLondon thankyou. When I had my miscarriage she said EPU wouldn’t normally do reassurance scans but if I fibbed and said I had the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy around six weeks they would! She was just trying to be kind during a really shitty time.

@Aaliyahrae ive still got tons of medication from the pregnancy I lost so going to start on those about 5 weeks as my sickness starts at 5.5-6 weeks and continues to about 20 weeks. I went through 7 meds last time until I got one that vaguely worked (and that was different to the one I used in my first pregnancy). Also look into B1 and B6 and magnesium supplementation. Unfortunately hyperemesis comes back for 75% of women who have it in a previous pregnancy so I know it’s super likely.

the meds that work best for me (but still aren’t perfect) make me really drowsy for about the first 4 weeks of taking them. You have to acclimate to them.

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 20:48

@graceinc22 I hope not! I ended up in hospital dehydrated with my son but with him, by 9 weeks, I literally couldn’t even lift my head up without gagging and finally started feeling better around 20/22 weeks. I was on bed rest until I was 24 weeks because I was so sick and I honestly cannot do that again this time - I don’t think I’ll cope especially with 2 other kids. How are you feeling? x

@SunSparkle Bless you! I know the feeling as my sickness does too! I didn’t have any sickness with my MC so when I got pregnant again I was like oh I can’t wait to feel sick but this has knocked me for 10. When are you likely to book a scan? Around Christmas? x

CluelessInLondon · 26/11/2023 20:59

@Aaliyahrae This was my first cycle trying post-MC and it was the first time I used OPKs. Previously I used an app to track periods and estimate ovulation but was quite chill about whether or not it happened, but after the MC I felt so confused about what my body was doing that I thought using OPKs would really help me to understand what was going on - obviously you can't control it, but I felt reassured by it and it meant I felt like we were timing the BDing right to give us a good chance. I told my husband I'd wait till Wednesday to test but if there's no AF by tomorrow afternoon I might pop out and get some tests and then do one on Tuesday morning...!

@SunSparkle That's a shame that your EPU won't routinely do early scans for women who have had a previous loss - it seems really variable depending on the hospital. It feels really unfair that some women have to pay for private scans and others can get them at EPU.

SunSparkle · 26/11/2023 21:24

@Aaliyahrae I really hope you can get a medication that works better for you. It's so debilitating. I will be 8 weeks on Christmas day so I think i will book one just before so I can calm down over christmas and then one around 10ish weeks because my last pregnancy stopped growing at 9 weeks but I didn't find out until 12. Part of what emotionally destroyed me was knowing that I couldn't trust my body as my sickness for those 3 weeks was still off the scale bad and yet, the pregnancy wasn't progressing. It was a really really hard time when everyone says 'having sickness is good - at least you know something is happening' and it wasn't true. So I think having one just after that dreaded 9 week mark, although it doesn't guarantee everything will be ok at the 12 week mark, will reassure me a little bit.

Aaliyahrae · 26/11/2023 22:58

@CluelessInLondon Ah! It is so hard when it’s after a MC and your body is all over the place. Got everything crossed for you - the next two days will probably feel really slow. I used a boots test and it seems lots of others have used them too with quite clear results! Keep us updated!

I agree about the different EPU’s. I’m bang in the middle of two hospitals and the one I use the most has been amazing. They offer a post miscarriage scan at 6 weeks and another follow up at 8, 9 or 10 weeks you just have to have it 2-4 weeks after your 6 week scan (mine is this week) so you have 2 scans! I also had 2 calls after my miscarriage to make sure all was well. The other hospital, apparently, offer nothing unless you’ve had multiple recorded miscarriages. xx

@SunSparkle That must have been so hard! You do have this assumption that because you have sickness you’re somewhat ‘safe’. Pregnancy is such a terrifying time! Always here to chat if you ever feel scared or just need to get any feelings off your chest because I know how scary it is after a MC. xx

Smithy91 · 26/11/2023 23:34

Amazing news @SunSparkle, congratulations 🌈 x

Ladyinpink1 · 27/11/2023 07:30

Just realised I tagged the wrong person @CluelessInLondon sorry, I'm not well so my head is a bit fuzzy, i just read your posts that you might test tomorrow ? How are you feeling today? x

And it was you I meant to tag @SunSparkle congratulations that's very exciting 🎊 Around 8 -9 weeks both times was when the babies stopped growing for me too so I understand a scan just after that time will be a good milestone to hit for you and to focus on, hoping that you are feeling ok and these next weeks go in fast! x

That sounds dreadful @Aaliyahrae I'm sorry you are so unwell and really hope they find something that works today x

How is everyone else getting on?

@ThelastRolo20 @Oxalis00 how are you both getting on, I think you were waiting for your peak? x

@Haylsttc are you 1dpo today? I'm pretty sure I am 1dpo today as my peak was Saturday, but my temps started rising on Saturday as I have covid, did another big jump up today which would be my normal rise day. Not sure if covid will effect my chances of conceiving this cycle, so I don't feel quite as hopeful as I normally do, but we have given it our best shot so just have to wait. x

@SunSparkle and @Aaliyahrae also interesting to read your comments about the epu for early reasurrance scans, I didnt know that was a thing in some of them, am definitely going to phone our local one and check if they do whenever we get our bfp.
Let us know what the doctor says this morning @Aaliyahrae x

@SunSparkle this is exciting! I have everything crossed for you that this is a happy healthy bean!

@Ladyinpink1 I'm now (roughly) in the TWW! We DTD 5 days over 8 although not sure how well timed as didn't do ovulation sticks this month to take the pressure off a bit - so we shall see! Now two weeks of trying to have lots of busy plans, thank goodness for Christmas! 😂

How is everyone else doing?

ThelastRolo20 · 27/11/2023 08:28

@Ladyinpink1 it's been a very early morning so haven't tested but have had loads of EWCM over the past 24 hours so I'm hoping I'll peak in the next day or so 🤞🏻will do a test when I get home, last cycle I tested my peak was day 15 (tomorrow) so seems to be on schedule x

Bali200 · 27/11/2023 09:07

Congratulations @SunSparkle! Wonderful news and hopefully the first of many BFP’s to come this month! X

Sorry to hear you’re unwell @Ladyinpink1 hope you feel better soon x

My local hospitals (Manchester) didn’t offer the scans to me after just one loss so I think it’s a bit of a postcode lottery, but happy to report that I had a positive private scan yesterday afternoon, little bean is measuring correctly and saw a heartbeat x

Oxalis00 · 27/11/2023 10:19

Congratulations @SunSparkle! Great to have some more good news on the thread.

@Ladyinpink1 Still waiting for my peak! It was low low yesterday and temp still down so I started worrying about not ovulating. OPK a bit higher this morning (CD15) so let’s see what the next day or two brings. Though DH spent the weekend in a hot tub so it’ll be lucky if there’s anything alive in there…! 🙄

CluelessInLondon · 27/11/2023 10:38

@Ladyinpink1 I'm feeling okay today - definitely still having some queasiness on and off, I feel as though it's been going on long enough that I can't be imagining all of it! AF due today and no sign yet, so probably going to get tests this afternoon and then test tomorrow first thing if my period doesn't arrive by then. Trying not to get my hopes up too much, which is hard!

Fingers crossed for positive ovulation tests for anyone who's testing and coming up to O-day!

@Bali200 That's wonderful that you've had an early scan and all looking good so far - how far along are you now?

Bugdem123 · 27/11/2023 11:24

Hey all, hope it's okay for me to join. I'm on CD 7 of cycle 2 after my MMC. I usually ovulate around CD16 so still a few days before my fertile window. My in-laws are coming to stay this weekend so hopefully we'll still be able to sneak something in at the weekend. Feels like being a teenager again 😂.

I'm tracking with easy@home OPKs and also bought some digital advanced OPKs to try this month.

I've seen a few people mention SMEP so going to have a read of that.

@CluelessInLondon I'll keep everything crossed! I'm so impressed you've been able to wait to test.

@Bali200 congratulations!!
