Anyone trying for a 3rd child?

We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

@WhatTheEll haha I know we have 🤣 suppose one more night won't do any harm 😅 so glad I caught it eventually.

@Scotmum256 oooh that's interesting. That's why I don't get the effectiveness of the CB OPKs as they say to test on FMU only. One more for good luck sounds a plan 😅

@HappyValleyFan1 I know its very confusing. Got a smiley on clearblue at same time so god knows! Next month I'll test from day 10 or 13 prob now I know I'm quite late to ovulate.

@MacNut thanks! I'll be off on holiday next week so fine way to pass the wait! I'm actually relieved tbh that I have a normal cycle as I was sceptical that I wasn't truly ovulating so it's great to know my body is doing what it should.

Feel like I’ve missed loads on the thread - so sorry for your loss @AnaReis.

DH and I still haven’t had a proper conversation about ttc after his wobble last week, but we dtd last night and he didn’t try the same stunt again so I guess that’s a yes?! It was cd11 and I hadn’t started using opks yet because of dh being unsure and because I ovulated cd16 last month, but I had lots of EWCM (and feeling insanely horny today 🫣) so I think it was probs in the start of my fw.

BUT I had my appraisal at work this week - went really well and I’m on a leadership track thing - and I know that another baby would massively screw it over so having my own wobbles 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Wondering if I should basicallh leave it to fate and if it doesn’t happen this cycle just calling it a day.

Anyway - how is everyone else?

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow such a tricky one! I definitely feel your dilemma with work. I'm a big career person too and I'm either throwing everything into TTC and taking a work break....or giving up on TTC and throwing everything at work.
I think if you left it to chance and it didn't happen, how might you feel? It's like the last hoorah and you want to put everything into it. Can the leadership program wait? X

Oh @Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow me too, I have a full on job and worked through having my two kids and will do again if this works out, nobody forced me but it's how I make it work for me and what we needed to do. It's possible but I have help. I would definitely say just go for it with TTC, I honestly think having kids made me better at what I do, yes it's hard and there might be compromises along the way but isn't there always? I say, wing it, you'll work out the rest and anticipation is so much worse than reality so often I find.

Think I'm out before it's begun. CD17 here and just got high OPK but DH has been away for a few days and just got back so the last time we DTD was Tuesday 😬 I'm away for the night from dinnertime and we have both kids with us 🤔

That’s for your advice everyone. Thinking of maybe bringing TTC forward a month so at the start of October. Although currently freaking out about what we would have to do for a car situation. I desperately don’t want to sell my car (a beloved mini convertible) & DH hates the look of all cars which sit 3 car seats at the back. What are you all doing about cars?

Seems unnecessarily large I know, but with all my son's equipment it was a no brainer.

7DPO here and of course a stark white negative. Using easy@home so I know they're not as sensitive as FRER.....BUT hardly any options available on Amazon! I've got some turning up today so will test again tomorrow. Apart from a few twinges here and there, no real symptoms.

Keeping everything crossed for you this cycle @WhatTheEll! It was the easy@home tests that I got my vvvvfl at 8dpo so you might get something tomorrow 🙏 I'm still amaaaazed that I got a positive so early. I've only just missed my period but feel like I've known for ages 😅

@MacNut thank you!! I just do feel like this is it for me this cycle. Kind of like the feeling of a fresh start so actually willing my period now....due Weds according to app but because this is my first cycle PP I really don't know if that's true! 🙃

I'm feeling fine. I'm tired and have felt a tiny bit nauseous the last couple of mornings but nothing too bad. Also not sure if I'm just imagining symptoms. My default is 'tired' 😂

🤣🤣 yep default is tired with already two in tow. You'll start feeling all sorts soon 👏🏻😬
I didn't feel sick at all with my first and then with my second I had nausea and a huge appetite for the first 6-8 weeks! It was crazy

Hi all, hope everyone is ok. AF due around about now, my cycles have been a few days longer/shorter lately. Getting cramps so think I’m out. Did a test at around 10 DPO which was negative and I’m stopping myself from testing again - until AF appears I can keep convincing myself it might happen 😕

8DPO, negative test but now I'm getting cramps. I don't normally get cramps before my period.....it's usually during my period I get them. So who knows?! You question everything when you're TTC. Also this is my longest cycle at CD29....they used to be 25/26 days long 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good luck @AFeastForCrows and @WhatTheEll! And glad you are ok @MacNut! I’m cd15 today and have been sooo flaky with the opks this cycle. Assuming I will ovulate tomorrow as it was cd16 last cycle and it’s EWCM central right now.

Dtd cd 11, cd 13, will aim for tonight and tomorrow and I think should be pretty good. Still having a little wobble about whether it’s even a good idea but going to see how this cycle goes and then reassess. If we do go ahead then I think we’d take a break for the next 2 cycles anyway to avoid a July/august baby so will give some thinking space.

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow why are you avoiding July/August? Both of my DC are summer babies (as am I) & I love it! Will be aiming for the same this time around

@happytobemrsg oh just because I don’t want them to be the very youngest in the school year (I’m in England), and also to avoid being heavily pregnant in the summer!

I know that loads of summer babies absolutely thrive at school (DH included), so perhaps it’s silly but it’s just a personal preference. I didn’t have the luxury of choice with DC1 as had 3 mcs before and he is a May baby, but we planned DC2 for autumn and she is November. I actually think Feb/March would be my ideal but you can’t always plan these things!
