We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

AF arrived this morning! Really relieved to see it as I knew I wasn’t pregnant.

Entering this cycle with serious positivity!

Re previous deliveries, both of mine were vaginal but both induced because I was overdue, and then both were incredibly fast labours (2 hrs 45, 1.5 hrs). Id love to experience going into labour naturally once, but would also be slightly terrified the baby would be born in like 20 mins 🤣

MacNut · 28/08/2023 10:03

Sorry to hear AF arrived @Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow but glad you're feeling positive about the next cycle 🤞

I'm 1DPO now so into the tww... @WhatTheEll have you had a positive OPK now?

Re deliveries, I was very fortunate with both mine being really straightforward and pretty fast. With DD2, I was at the hospital for less than an hour and she arrived. The pool hadn't even got filled! Slightly scared for what that means in terms of a 3rd 😳

Nooooo 😭 CD15 and no positive OPK. What's the latest people have ovulated?
I've got more IC's turning up today from good old Jeff.

RE deliveries @MacNut yours sound dreamy! I soooo wish I could go for another natural but I've been told to go elective next time because I have a low pubic arch, hence the emergency with DC2 and DC1 had shoulder dystocia and although it was classed as a traumatic birth....I loved it!! Weird I know

WhatTheEll · 28/08/2023 10:17

Literally as I finished typing that I started getting some crampy twinges down south, so maybe ovulation is just round the corner 🤞🏻🤞🏻

HappyValleyFan1 · 28/08/2023 11:32

@WhatTheEll I ovulate late, generally CD 18-22 but means a short luteal phase for me so trying things to help with that this cycle. I think probably contributed to MCs too. Oooh yes sounds very close for you!

Thank you! Yes I've had two early losses previously and thought the same. I don't know if you saw further up thread, a few of us do keto/no carbs/no sugar as it can help with fertility and cycle length.
This is my first full cycle PP so it's possible it could just be longer now 🤷🏻‍♀️

AnaReis · 28/08/2023 12:47

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow finally! It's frustrating to have BFP but the beauty of AF is that there's always another cycle full of possibilities around the corner.

@WhatTheEll when I got pregnant with DC2 I ovulated around CD19. This meant that by the date of last period I was 1 week ahead than I actually was, but I made sure to tell the midwives that I was tracking my ovulation and that I had only ovulated on the 19th day of the cycle.

@Maybebaby54321 omg I need the 8th of September to arrive 😅my toddler starts nursery again on that day. Although I'm dreading taking him, as it's usually DH who takes him because he cries and it's horrible........ but with DH being away and me solo parenting 2 kids with a cold, especially the toddler who wakes up a lot of times during the night coughing and with a blocked nose..... I'm sooooo tired 😣I really need a break...

@N8B welcome! 😊I completely understand your fears. I too was used to getting pregnant quickly and easily and well, it hasn't happened yet lol The c-sections I think barely affect fertility, from what I've read, so hang in there, it will happen! And of course, TTC is fun when it happens quickly and you don't have to think too much about it, but when you really want to get pregnant and it doesn't happen it can be quite stressful... But hang in there, join the TTC insanity in this group! 😅

@MacNut I'm seriously considering buying OPK just for the sake of seeing the line 😅although I'd have to warn DH, in case he finds one and mistakes it for an HCG one lol

Regarding deliveries, I had 2 home births which I absolutely loved ❤I was exhausted after the 1st one, which took 20h, but I was fine after the 2nd which was just 6h (although DH was massive!!!!). I hope to have another home birth if I get pregnant with a 3rd little one, but as always I keep my mind open to anything that might happen.
This cycle though, if my husband remains in Portugal during the week after this one, then it will be yet another cycle waisted.... and AF is due to show up on the 1st day of my hols!!!.... I mean seriously! 😩it's either in the beginning or right in the middle..... 😡

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I mean BFN! Sorry!..... I blame it on being absolutely knackered...... 😵

AnaReis · 28/08/2023 12:51

omg... and it wasn't DH that was massive, it's DC LOL although he's quite tall and that's probably why DC is massive 😂😂😂😂 I really need to get more sleep 😅

This typo made me chuckle 😂

I'll just be happy that this wasn't a conversation in person, or I'd be tomato red trying to find a hole to hide myself in LOOL

Maybebaby54321 · 28/08/2023 14:09

@AnaReis I'm a drop them and run mama as I get heart broken if I see them upset, it kills me!!! So I totally and utterly get you!!!! I'm just like you as well in that I still can't wait until they get back to school and routine. It's been a long old summer and I really love autumn!!!!

As we have all had babies before I'll post about my deliveries. I'm wary of doing it on boards with first time mums as I'm afraid I'll scare them off having children!

HOWEVER, IF BIRTH TRAUMA IS A TRIGGER FOR YOU, PLEASE DONT READ ON!!!!!

Baby 1 was active labour on the Friday and Saturday with just gas and air and by the Sunday, an epidural followed quickly by a vacuum delivery. She wasn't breathing when she was born and my poor husband watched a neonatal dr carry her upside-down, by 1 foot, across the room. It did the trick and she started breathing but it was scary to see.

Baby 2 was 2 days instead of 3 in active labour before being born with gas and air. She's the only 1 of my 4 who was put on my chest at birth and I treasure the memory of what she felt like!!!

Baby 3 was only 5 hours of labour with gas and air and she was born so fast I had a post partum hemorrhage. A Dr came in and removed clots from my uterus, by hand, with only gas and air as there wasn't enough time to wait.

Baby 4 was an induction at 42 weeks. Once they started contractions they quickly realised she was in distress so did an emergency c section where they found the cord wrapped around her neck and arm.

Thankfully this time will be a planned c section if I get my bfp and I'm very much looking forward to that!!!!!

I'm currently 4dpo and the days are going very slowly!!!!!

Twocatstwodogs · 28/08/2023 14:15

@AnaReis Ohhh your typo really made me laugh, slightly TMI haha! Bet your DH would be chuffed to know the rep he's getting on here ;)
Totally with you on the sleep thing, the nausea and fatigue has hit hard, why do I always forget it happens 🤔

@Maybebaby54321 OMG, I think you'd have put me off if I'd been a first time mum but wow! Go you and you're up for doing it all again! You're braver than me that's for sure!

AnaReis · 28/08/2023 14:26

@Twocatstwodogs omg this is killing me 😂😂I'm glad everyone is having a laugh at the results of my lack of sleep 😂
I don't miss that phase of the pregnancy 😣I hope you manage to do something that helps! During my last one I ate loads of potato mash lool it was the only thing that I could eat!

@Maybebaby54321 wow such different experiences! I'm terrified of c-sections or instrumental deliveries....... I'm generally terrified of hospitals to be honest... but I'm glad they're there if I ever need them ❤

I have so many family and friends who've had lots of babies and completely wonderful birth experiences so every time I thought I would have one too. I'd do them all again to have my gorgeous girls but if I'm blessed enough to get my bfp I definitely am glad this one will be a scheduled c section!!!!

WhatTheEll · 28/08/2023 15:47

@Maybebaby54321 Wow!! All such different birth stories. You've really been through it.
I must say it's true, after going into labour naturally and being induced, the contractions with induction are next level 🙃

Twocatstwodogs · 28/08/2023 17:32

@AnaReis 🤭 it was so funny!
Yes, only really eating beige foods at the moment. Mash is a good idea, much worse if I’m hungry. Hoping it doesn’t last long.

Maybebaby54321 · 28/08/2023 18:08

@Twocatstwodogs I really hope it doesn't last a long time!!! Morning sickness is awful!!!

Maybebaby54321 · 28/08/2023 18:09

@WhatTheEll Thankfully with my induction I was given an epidural before they induced so I didn't feel a single contraction. It made the rush to theatre much quicker too!!!

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 29/08/2023 08:45

Ok guys I’m on cd2, the boring death phase of ttc, and Im back at work after holidays which feels grim.

Is anyone close to testing to bring a little excitement??

Maybebaby54321 · 29/08/2023 10:00

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I'm testing Friday when I'll be 9dpo!!!

Scotmum256 · 29/08/2023 10:42

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow this is my first month and not long finished period, u are right is definitely the worst part and never wanted a period to end sooner 😂

@Maybebaby54321 how exciting! I'm so impatient u must be itching to test.

Maybebaby54321 · 29/08/2023 10:46

@Scotmum256 I'm dreading it and excited for it at the same time. Every month is the same. That sick feeling that its going to be negative that I try and push out with the excitement that it could be positive, only for it to be negative so I crash back down.

My husband is the one who gets properly excited every month for a bfp and then says "yay more ttc sex for me next month" when it's negative, (He doesn't get much at all when I'm pregnant 🤣) to try and cheer me up.

Scotmum256 · 29/08/2023 10:50

@Maybebaby54321 I can imagine it feeling that way! Very mix and I'm sure u will get you bfp soon. Hhlaha typical husband response that is! I feel nervous just thinking about it lol. I'm coming up foe ovulation soon ( I think) cycles are erratic and first month testing . I'm sure I'll be in it for the long haul and the thought of the 2ww kills me already haha. No patience x

MacNut · 29/08/2023 10:51

I'm 2/3 DPO now. BBT makes me 3dpo but I'm not sure I trust it as I had a restless sleep & so am worried my temp is off. If I go by ovulation as day after peak OPK then only 2dpo.

Either way I've said I'll test next Wednesday so a while to wait! Excited for @Maybebaby54321 testing this week, keeping everything crossed! 🤞
