We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow there's nothing worse than a delayed period so I really really hope you get a laye bfp instead!!!!!!

Maybebaby54321 · 26/08/2023 17:06

I'm 3dpo today and thank goodness the kids are back to school on Thursday so I have something to distract me from testing early!!!

Hi all,

Hope you don’t mind me joining too - TTC#3 and on the 3rd cycle now. DC1 happened on the 1st month or trying, second pregnancy (that sadly ended early) was on the 2nd month of trying, and DC2 (now almost 2) was conceived on the 4th month. Just turned 38, so not very young anymore.

Anyone here trying to get pregnant after 2 caesareans (both my DC were planned surgeries)? Last time the surgeon told “no issues for the next time”, but just can’t get it out of my head that something didn’t heal properly, although the recovery was easier than the first time. I know we hardly spent any time TTC compared with how long it may take, but because all my previous pregnancies had happened quite quickly, I was hoping for a smooth journey now too. Getting a little bit disheartened to see AF arrive as expected for two months now.

It’s very silly, but most of my friends now are pregnant with a third, and I am starting to feel a bit like damaged goods to the point of thinking about avoiding an upcoming baby shower for someone’s third.

Hello 👋

It is disheartening but you're still very early in the TTC journey ♥️ what's the age gap between DC? I'm 37 and TTC #3 after natural birth DC1 and emergency c-section DC2. I read further up this thread about it being 2% harder to get pregnant after a c-section ( I probably haven't worded that right!), but I never knew that.

It will happen for you! And don't avoid the baby shower, you might regret it 😘

N8B · 26/08/2023 18:20

@WhatTheEll thank you for your kind words ❤️ xxx

My rational brain tells me exactly the same - not been trying for long enough - but the emotional side kicks in more often than I would like. TTC will take all the bandwidth you give it! Mine are 5.5 yrs and almost 2 yrs old. How old are yours?

For what it’s worth, my SIL had 3 caesareans interspersed with several MCs, but essentially never had problems conceiving. At the same time, some of friends struggled to conceive after a vaginal delivery. So many factors can come into play, and from my interactions with multiple obstetricians, most seem to worry about pregnancy complications after a c section rather than it not happening at all. So, the odds are really in your favour ❤️

I think I am gonna show my face at the baby shower after all! ☺️

Aah that's a nice age gap! 💚 mine are 6.5 and nearly 1! Big gap first time because my first has a rare chromosome condition so add all the shit that comes with that (luckily de novo) plus #2 took 18 months to conceive (no idea why, had tests etc all ok) = bigger gap than I'd like. So getting on the next one early doors 🤣

I do think TTC feels longer when you're fully in it. It can consume you. And it's alright saying "what will be, will be" but when you really really want another one it's all the emotions!

Maybebaby54321 · 26/08/2023 18:36

@N8B I have 4 children and they all took over 12 months to concieve, and 3 of them were in my 20s and 1 in my very early 30s. We both had all the tests, everything came back normal, we just take a long time.
Now I'm 35 and ttc no 5 and I'm trying to put my age to the back of my mind and just allow everything to happen when it happens. I completely understand the stress and frustration and I've been there so many times, but don't give up hope xxx

@MacNut I had a peak OPK yesterday so we’re almost in sync.

Almost time to enter another TWW…

Maybebaby54321 · 26/08/2023 19:38

@Clettercletterthatsbetter I'm 3dpo and it's dragging by!!!

Oh we can keep ourselves company for the dreaded tww! I don't think @WhatTheEll will be far behind either. Hopefully this will be a successful cycle for at least one of us 🙏

Welcome @N8B 😊

MacNut · 26/08/2023 20:35

I'm slightly obsessed with the IC OPKs. I think I've tested almost every time I've pee'd today. Can't beat the satisfaction of that dark line 😂 (if only it was measuring HCG instead of LH)

Twocatstwodogs · 27/08/2023 08:06

@N8B 👋 hi! Yes I’ve had 1 elective cs and 1 emergency cs and am currently pregnant with my third (7w4d). We were trying for around 8 months and had a miscarriage in that time. Try not to panic, I totally get the fear but I’ve not had problems conceiving and they found a cyst/c section complication near the scar after the mc which luckily hasn’t affected me getting pregnant but will mean a more complicated c section next time. I’m sure it’ll happen for you 🤞

N8B · 27/08/2023 09:47

@WhatTheEll @Maybebaby54321 @Twocatstwodogs Thank you ladies! ❤️

@Twocatstwodogs what amazing news! Could you send some baby dust this way?
Did you go for VBAC the second time? I was going round and round in circles, but because my DC2 happened after a loss I started feeling very anxious towards the end and thought that another planned CS will feel more controlled albeit at the potential expense of future pregnancies. Now beating myself a little bit over it…

Haha yes I feel like this paragraph is my life.

CD14 today and still very faint IC OPK 😣
CF is almost correct so we DTD anyway 🤣 I mean what the heck at this point.....

WhatTheEll · 27/08/2023 09:54

Also sorry I came in late but huge congrats to @Twocatstwodogs 🥳🥳♥️♥️ fantastic news. Hope you're feeling ok! X

Rightnow1245 · 27/08/2023 17:33

I had a c- section with DS1 and feel pregnant with dc2 on cycle 2.. I had a VBAC with Dc2 and this is is cycle 3 so it’s actually taking longer after a natural labour @N8B

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 27/08/2023 17:37

1DPO. I swear the TWW gets longer every cycle!

MacNut · 27/08/2023 17:58

Right behind you @Clettercletterthatsbetter, I'll be 1dpo tomorrow. When will you test? I'm thinking of making a promise to myself to test at 12dpo (& not before!)

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 27/08/2023 17:59

@MacNut i think I’m going to try to wait until 11dpo, when the kids go back to school. But I usually cave around 8dpo and begin testing daily!

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 27/08/2023 18:42

I’m definitely post-OV though as my boobs have immediately gone sore, which they do every month!

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 27/08/2023 20:18

Hello all. AF was due for me today and hasn’t arrived, but also bfn on the various tests I’ve done…worst of all worlds! I’ve had regular 29 day cycles since my periods came back after bf…until now! So annoying as I just want to get going again.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Maybebaby54321 · 27/08/2023 21:01

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow ah that's so annoying!!!! I really hope you get your bfp tomorrow!

Twocatstwodogs · 28/08/2023 06:55

@N8B My first was the elective cs, second was meant to be elective but turned into emergency as went into labour and progressed very fast. A vaginal delivery wasn't on the cards for me, long story but I wouldn't have been able to contemplate having children if that was the only route so personally don't regret having them but that's me. I'm sure it won't be long for you, stay strong if you can, all the baby dust to you!! It'll happen, it's happened before, you know it can.

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow oh so annoying, hope you're ok. So disheartening when you just want to restart. Maybe you'll still get your BFP, keeping everything crossed.
