Anyone trying for a 3rd child?

We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

@Scotmum256 have they checked you for symptoms of PCOS? If you're having longer cycles every and excess hair might mean your hormones need balancing. I had PCOS in the past created by the pill :/

@MacNut my eldest today was chasing me around asking why there were so many empty packets in the trash lol it was IC lol

Yeah had multiple bloods done, put it down to stress and apparently my levels are all normal, very weird x

AF has arrived so I'm out. Although glad it did before I saw the disappointment of a BFN (was going to test tomorrow) feeling quite deflated, just reminding me of TTC #2 which was 2 years of upset and MCs 😬
I'm sure I'll feel more positive tomorrow

@AnaReis any sign of AF for you today?

Welcome @Scotmum256 your cycles seem similar to mine. One month it'll be 32 days and the next 42 🤷‍♀️ I ovulate quite late but no idea why the difference literally each month, maybe we have a lazy ovary on one side 😅

Yeah it is bizarre I have tracked it on and off through the years and when I thjnk its in regular cycle it then goes and changes again. Bizarre but at least we get a period eventually so know that we definitely ovulate .can be annoying for holidays and planning ahead. My period this month went back to 42 days which worked out well as i had calculated to have my period when i go on holiday but seems that will now be my 2 week wait which is better !

BFN for me this morning at 10/11dpo on a clear blue. I’ve always had very faint BFPs on FRERs by now in the past so don’t think this is our month, and not surprised really as I don’t feel pregnant but I’m still disappointed!

Period is due on Sunday so just want to get it over with now. Will do my last test tomorrow to double check and then stop my meds.

So I'm out, AF showed up this morning, which is also a relief to finally have some closure on this cycle. This was a 27 day cycle and the luteal phase was a bit longer which gives me a bit of comfort.

I'm going to research if there's any supplements I could be taking to help with fertility (I already take methylfolate and vitamin D) just to see if we can get a bit of extra help. If we keep going through the cycles I might get the magic cup @WhatTheEll mentioned lol

DH is of course very happy with the perspective of continuing our sessions of DTD 😅

@AnaReis please can I join? I'm in a similar boat but have just become pregnant with my 3rd, my sons are nearly 3y and nearly 18m. I'm nearly 40 and it took around 6-7 proper cycles with a MC in April.

After feeling exactly the same as you, went through a stage of TTC then I panicked and stopped and then needed to again, now I am actually pregnant I'm trying not to panic again and think WHAT HAVE I DONE, I could have 3 under 4yrs. I must be barking!

@AnaReis are you tracking BBT and ovulation? Definitely helped me but I also need a few cycles to regulate after ds2 I think.
I'm sure it will happen soon. Maybe worth having some blood tests done if you can as an initial check, might make you feel like you're doing something too. I had this booked two days before I tested positive but then had to cancel. Might help the waiting?

Yes I'm tracking my BBT ☺️ I'm ovulating for sure.

I have an appointment with the GP on the 8th and I'm going to ask to do some blood tests. If they fob me off then I'll use my insurance 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Twocatstwodogs I'm exactly the same feeling like omg what have I done and this is just over the fact we had unprotected sex around ovulation time, I'm not even pregnant yet!
I rang my mum crying saying I don't know what I've done, she really helped me by seeing the bigger picture of this is what I've wanted and I'm giving my two another sibling etc etc I feel more calm and excited again now and hoping I get a BFP.
I'm all over the place with this decision but the thought of a 3rd just isn't leaving my mind.. its like my life path is being guided without me trying even though I'm fighting it all the time.

I'm about 4dpo I think and just so bloated. I just want to bloody know now. It's weird to think I will know by the time the kids are back at school!

@AnaReis I take magnesium, zinc, iodine, vit d and c, omega 3 as advised by my gp when I went in to tell him we were going to try again.

I found going from 1 child to 2 much harder than when 3 or 4 came along. So for those of you panicking, if you've done 2, you will do 3 easy!!!!!! 💕

@CoffeePlease89 totally, it's such a weird feeling, not really a choice as such. I just know if we'd not tried I would have felt I needed to anyway. 4dpo is good, when will you start testing?

So I’ve just gone back to the test I did this morning and there is a definite faint blue line. Didn’t show up within the window that I could see. It’s just an evap isn’t it? I’ve tried to take a pic and can’t really capture it but it is there IRL.

@Maybebaby54321 Oh wow! That is so so reassuring but also making me ask, are you thinking about a 5th? Sounds like you're a professional to be honest and go for it if you are!

I didn't find going from 1-2 that difficult tbh which sounds mad, what I'm worrying is the logistics of things like, will they fit in the bath, how do I do the playground with a baby not walking a toddler who's wild and a 3-4 yr old and things.... brain in overdrive🤔

@Twocatstwodogs we are currently desperately trying for no5!!!!!
I've loved every second of having 4 and the girls are all so close. It's amazing.
My house is never clean all at the same time, there's a lot of glitter every where, my husband is terrified of the teenage years, but we wouldn't change a thing.
We thought we were done but we went for counselling for a vasectomy and both came away from it really wanting no5 🤣🤣🤣 so here I am again looking down a long road of ttc and hoping that it doesn't take too long this time!!!

I can see a faint line but if it came up after the timeframe, I'd be worried it's an evap 😩 I've seen so many of the CB ones on here giving false hope. Any chance of getting a pink dye test? Keeping everything crossed for you that it's a proper line! 🙏

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I can see the line!!! But I'm always so wary of cb tests after the time frame. I've heard about their evap lines. So even tho I see it I'm afraid to be saying so...

Me too @Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow ,I see it and that looks like a line to me but I agree CB are a bit hit and miss. FRER would be ideal if you can find one? How many dpo are you today? Fingers crossed

Yeah it’s a definite line in real life - not sure why I can’t take a good pic of it. But also most definitely did come up way after the window, so I fear it is an evap 😭.

I generally don’t trust CB at all but it was all I could get hold of before I left on holiday. Other than FRER what are the good options if I manage to get to a boots? I shouldn’t keep taking my meds tomorrow if it’s a BFN so need to know!

I think boots own ones are supposed to be pretty good? 🤞🤞
