Anyone trying for a 3rd child?

We've started 3 cycles ago trying for our 3rd. I'm going to be 41 soon and both me and DH feel exactly the same about this, feels like going for a 3rd is a bit insane, with all the challenges in logistics, but at the same time it feels like we both really want it ❤️ We're sort of going for a leap of faith... is anyone in the same boat?

I'm only CD8 but have noticed EWCM. Now driving myself crazy that it's too early for EWCM. Using OPKs last month I ovulated on CD13 so maybe it's ok (EWCM 5 days before ov seems a lot though). Still doing BBT so will see what my temps do. Will be DTD tonight anyway as doing SMEP. Why do I drive myself crazy like this? 🤪

How is everyone else?

@MacNut i think 5 days of EWCM is definitely possible. Feel like I read somewhere recently that that is standard for people in their 20s and it’s usually 2-3 days in your 30s, so could be a good sign!

@AnaReis sorry if you think you’re out…is implantation bleeding a possibility? I never spot before AF - it just appears in full flow for me.

It is, it happened with my 2nd. I had spotting and thought my period was going to show up the next day but it didn't. I feel a bit deflated, but well I have to face it, I'm almost 41....... It might take a while, it might not happen and I have to make peace with it I guess...

Ive just realised I’ve been an idiot. Do people count the day after a peak opk as O day? I think I’ve been counting from 2 days after, which would make me 9dpo not 8 dpo today.

9dpo, I think I had a browny/red tinge earlier when wiping so not too hopeful

Also, yes I count ov as day after my peak on an opk. I'm tracking BBT using fertility friend which helpfully fills in the DPO which I also like as otherwise I get confused 😅

What's more annoying is that if I have another 29 day cycle then I might have to wait until Saturday in hopes that I might see a positive and then see it all crumble when AF makes an appearance 😠 which happened 2 cycles ago....

Hi girls, hope it's OK if I join. We are ttc no5!!!! So any questions about having 3 or 4, feel free to ask.
Our girls (yep all girls!!!) Are 11, 8, 5 and 2 and all all born between Oct and Feb so pretty much a 3 year age gap between each give or take a month. We never ever planned it that way at all, it's just how it happened!!
Our first was born when we were 23, our 2nd at 26, our 3rd at 29 and our 4th 32. We thought we were done at 4 and saved up for a vasectomy for my husband. Then we went to the mandatory councilling session before the procedure and came away both feeling like we didn't quite feel done after all and we wanted one more!!!!
We've been ttc since May and we are now both 35 so I'm feeling incredibly worked up that age is no longer on my side.

I've now had and finished my first period at nearly 12 months PP. It was horrendous to say the least. So I'm now on cycle day 9 starting to do OPK testing 🤞🏻🤞🏻😍

I got pregnant with my 2nd easily when I was 37, 35 isn't even close to being old! Are you doing any ovulation tracking of some sort?

@AnaReis Thank you 💕 we started trying for our 2nd, 3rd and 4th when the sister before them was 12months old and didn't conceive until they were over 2yrs, so I feel like if it takes that long this time, there will be a much bigger age gap as our baby is 2 1/2 not 12 months. I track ovulation with opks but prior to having my 4th, my cycles were always exactly 28 days, even after having each baby. Then came our 4th who was born via emergency c section, and it was my first section, and since then my cycles have been much heavier and anywhere between 25 and 30 days. I ovulate 13 to 14 days before AF each month so its the follicular phase that has shortened/lengthened. I don't know if it has anything to do with the section or not.

In theory it shouldn't as it's controlled by hormones. It can impact the ability to get pregnant again, but the percentage I've read is about 2% less than after a vaginal birth.

I used to have bigger luteal phases too... I think they're around 10/11 days now, which is sort of the limit for a pregnancy to even be possible. I didn't have more spotting and I've had cramps and sharp pains on and off all day long... It's like I'm being taunted by AF 🙄I can't stop myself from being aware of everything I'm feeling always wondering if it's AF or if I might be pregnant... It's like 2 cycles ago and then my period came on the 29th!.... 😑

Oh and my husband is the worst lol every time I complain of being mega bloated, my back hurting, being so hungry, thirsty, whatever... He says "well it might be...." 😅 lol I don't need any more obsessing about it, thank you very much! 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

@AnaReis oh I can completely relate to that feeling and I'm so sorry you're feeling that way. How long have you been ttc? My husband thinks every month that his sperm are the best sperm that ever lived so it will absolutely be our month. Full of positivity. And then it isn't our month. And yet the following month he's still super positive and ready to go again. I'd love some of it but I feel like I have to be realistic. So maybe I'm overly negative because he's overly positive

I just swing between feeling like it will happen and feeling like it won't (mostly feeling the second as I'm 11dpo and not getting even a VFP). The worst is testing and seeing the strip absolutely white! Its so disheartening! 🤦🏻‍♀️ But this is because I can't help it and test like an insane person 😅

@AnaReis I am firmly in the early testing club 🤣🤦‍♀️ And I take my stark white test and shine a torch up to it, hold it in sun light, take a photo and invert it. The whole shebang 🤦‍♀️
Problem is, I got a late bfp with my 2nd and only a vfl before AF with my 3rd, so I don't give up hope until she arrives. Thank goodness for ICs 🤣🤣🤣

I think I was 1 day out on my ovulation calculation, which makes me 10dpo today. I’ve previously had realllly faint lines at 10dpo with all my other pregnancies (x6!) but somehow managed to hold off testing this morning.

I’m on holiday and only have 2 tests with me and they are clearblues which I don’t trust as much as FRERs so will test tomorrow. Still not really feeling pregnant in any way but will have that tiny glimmer of hope till AF arrives!

Anyone testing today?

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I really really really admire your will power!!! To have tests and not use them!!! Although I had some devastating evaps on clear blue 2 cycles ago so I do see your point!!!! When are you back from holiday?

@Maybebaby54321 we are back on Saturday but it’s a little complicated for me as I need to take steroids for 10 days from
ovulation, then test. If it’s a bfn I have to stop the steroids as it’s bad to take them longer than absolutely necessary. Tomorrow is day 10 of the steroids so I’m saving my tests for tomorrow and Friday. Today is going to draaaaaaggg!

@MacNut everyone said with 3 and 4 that we must want a boy and were always surprised when I said it would be much easier if it's not!!! My whole house is set up for girls in every way!!! However if we are blessed enough to have no 5, I know my husband has crossed all his fingers and toes that this one's a boy 🤣

Tested again with an IC, it left a bit of staining on the area where the test line is... Again! I hate this! It gets my hopes up... No period, although it feels like AF is totally coming! 😖😖😖 I'm cramping and I was sure AF was there when I went to the loo after getting up...
