@FigandHoney thank you - yes she made me feel really stupid and foolish tbh which wasn't nice! Ah well - I guess her job must be pretty crappy dealing with lots of sad couples etc so who knows what she was processing when she spoke to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

FigandHoney · 11/09/2023 15:10

So I can't remember if I mentioned this already. But last time I decided to invest in an AVA Bracelet because it took such a long time.
So eventhough I want to not get too much into Mt head about TTC I have strapped it on the last 5 nights.
I had cramping on Thursday. And was convinced that it was ovulation. But my ava bracelet has earmarked ovulation on Sunday based on my previous data.
I only started tracking my BBT on Friday. So won't know for definite. Buy my temp did drastically increase on Sunday morning and further today. So I think I might have ovulated on Saturday.
I also get hormonal migraines and have had them since Saturday.
We BD only twice. Once on Wednesday. And once on Saturday. This is more than we have in a while. But I was just too tired and hot on the other days.
So don't think we have much of a chance this cycle. But it only takes one sperm right

@worldwidetravel2017 yes thank you for your thoughtfulness. I did ring my midwife base this morning and the women's health unit who dealt with my MMC in April. The WHU was actually a bit disappointing and unhelpful and basically told me if I hadn't tested early (day of my missed period!) I would probably never have known about it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I then said well obviously after my MMC I was on high alert and is there anything I need to do to let anyone know etc as it's a repeat loss. She basically said no and again reiterated it was so early most people wouldn't know (she clearly doesn't frequent MN conception boards!!)

Anyway, that threw me a bit but your comment has prompted me to just ring my GP and ask for it to be noted on my record at least. I wouldn't qualify for NHS IVF etc as we have one naturally conceived child and then I just had the MMC earlier this year and now this.. so hopefully I've just been a bit unlucky as I know we have it in us to be genetically compatible and to carry healthily to term... just slightly older eggs I guess (I'm 37). 🤷🏼‍♀️

As a uk tax payer and person in nhs system - you can request hcg bloods 48 hrs apart - to ' document ' the chemical pregnancy

If you may wish to ask 4 progesterone from NHS or from a private gp 4 a later attempt , easier with it documented

I got my ' hcg number ' @ bloods yesterday
& am having one more tomorrow

Im 37 later this yr

Have u tried coq10 to improve egg quality? ( often helps - esp as we are over 35)

Also have you had your feretin - b12 & vit D checked? - yes we have chemical pregnancy but i guess positively - we concieved second cycle of trying

After a chemical pregnancy - you are extra fertile the 3 months after

First off congratulations @Twdfn123. Wishing you a sticky bean and smooth uneventful pregnancy. To me your lines look like a lovely progression. I wish they did blood HCG test in the UK like they do in America. It would be so re-assuring.
@Cressie2 how long have you been trying for n2? Did n1 happen pretty quickly for you? Hope you get a BFP soon
@Mrsspoon3 @SnookyPook @worldwidetravel2017 I am so sorry about the chemical / potential chemical. Every loss is painful. And it's completely normal to feel devastated. Take care of yourself and I hope you are surrounded by support. I agree with getting these on a report if you can, just in case you want to push for more help at a later stage.
@CurlyWurly1991 Thank you. It's good to hear I am not the only one with a lower libido. My husbands libido is through the roof and he is excited about us BD more now that we are TTC.
Our son is 3 years old.
Unfortunately with work and our son waking up before us, it's difficult to get BDing in the morning.
I did read In the Flo actually and The hormone repair manual, last time we TTC. Might be worth another read. Thinking of ordering some vitamins. VitD, Coq10, DHEA, Folate.
@Optimist1981 Your food subscription service sounds interesting. What is it called? I have a very sensitive digestive system.
@EvelynKatie I also had my fertile days, slap bang in the heatwave.
@Bumblebee413 I hope the laid back approach gets you your BFP. It did work for us last time.
@MrsBP15 Hopefully your blood test will provide you with some answers / comfort. It only takes one well timed sperm. So you are in the running. I think a holiday is always a good idea
@Rebeccaemily93 They are looking a little bit odd. But that doesn't mean they aren't a BFP. I think evaps normally have no colour. I would also say try with a pink line. First response or so

I had hcg bloods yesterday in UK
And again tomorrow

Is that what you meant by your hcg blood comment to someone or did i get the wrong end of the stick

Keep the hope

FigandHoney · 11/09/2023 15:29

@worldwidetravel2017 Yes. That is what I meant. Because i spend too much time on social media, I noticed that in anyone who gets a BFP then gets scheduled in for 3 HCG blood tests by default.
I didn't realise you could get this done in the UK. Is that just in special circumstances though? Previous loss? Age? Or to confirm a miscarriage?
Because in the US it seems to just be part of everybody's pregnancy appointments

SnookyPook · 11/09/2023 15:36

@worldwidetravel2017 thank you... that might be why my GP receptionist was a bit unhelpful. Said she couldn't update my record without a clinician having confirmed the loss. So I asked what I needed to do and they were going to speak to someone and get back to me. I should have probably demanded bloods but I'm worried they'll already be too low to register 😔

Hcg sometimes stays in some people for 1 - 9 weeks after
My number was very low yesterday yet cb digital was still saying pregnant.

( very low for 5/6 weeks)

4 me its to check whats going on / confirm chemical pregnancy

My mate has ivf and she often gets / does hcg

FigandHoney · 11/09/2023 16:05

@worldwidetravel2017 Good to know. I wasn't aware. I am guessing it's special circumstance. But that sometimes you also need to specifically ask.
With my first I had bleeding for about three weeks after the 8 week mark. The early pregnancy unit couldn't fit me in for an ultrasound until two weeks after the bleeding started. And I was never offered an HCG blood test.
I went in to AE in a panic when I started bleeding. They made me take a pregnancy test and told me I had miscarried. The doctor in ae had really bad bedside manners. He was horrible. So cold. But I guess it happens a lot.
We happened to have booked in for a private early pregnancy ultrasound because I was generally feeling very anxious that weekend. Decided still to go. Expected bad news. But where told that baby was doing fine and had a heartbeat.
The early pregnancy unit then confirmed a Subchorionic haemorrhage two weeks later.
In this scenario a blood test feels like smthg that could have been done quickly and cheaper than an ultrasound. But obviously I don't really know if that is actually the case.
I am sorry if I sounded like I am bashing the NHS.I am not. I am very grateful for it. And generally the American system is awful.
But I have had some bad experiences during my pregnancy and birth (a very traumatic birth). So am personally aware that some people in the field are not always the kindest. But I am 100% not saying this is everyone. I have met amazing people in the NHS.
I also grew up in France and am part German. And both countries have certain advantages in their health system we do not have here. Such as blood testing centres in every community, that do just that. You get your results the same day or the next day. Better preventative care.
In the end it is just sad the NHS isn't better funded. Personally I would be happy to pay higher taxes.

I have lived overseas and travelled a lot
.i do agree nhs isnt always ace

FigandHoney · 11/09/2023 16:12

@worldwidetravel2017 Thank you for sharing that article. Gut wrenching. When we were TTC previously I also got a hunch I might have issues producing enough progesterone.
My luteal phase has always been on the short side and I always start spotting about 3 days before my actual period, making it even shorter.
But I did manage to get pregnant (after 15months) and keep the pregnancy in the end. So who knows.
Again based on what I saw on social media, and despite it's massive flaws, in the US the use of progesterone seems to be better understood and access to it much easier. Again caveated, as long as you can afford heath insurance

Pineappleapple · 11/09/2023 16:21

I'm on page 27 so some catching up to do. Thought period had started at 9 dpo, was just spotting however. Period has definitely started now. Keeping up with procieve sachets though I don't enjoy them.
@SnookyPook welcome back

Pineappleapple · 11/09/2023 16:40

Caught up. What a lot of highs and lows for everyone.
I can't read that article, I over think everything! But my issue is getting pregnant rather than staying pregnant so far.
Yep only takes one sperm. Have to remind myself of that every time.

Mrs spoon sorry to hear that AF arrived. It's worse when you feel hopeful x

worldwidetravel sorry about the chemical. Sounds like you did well looking after yourself with soup and maltessers, sounds a very comforting eve.

Snookypook sorry too, I was excited for you when I read good news for you, appreciate not as tough as MMC was but lots of mixed emotions in a short space of time, that's hard. And rubbish about the health person you spoke to. They may have been having a bad time too you're right but not at all helpful not to sympathise at least.

Twdfn those lines look ace!

Hope I haven't remembered anyone's news wrongly.

Re getting pregnant - have u tried tests with hertility health ?

Additionally - have u had feretin - b12 - vit D etc checked?

BB2023 · 11/09/2023 21:19

Jusr catching up ladies.

So sorry @SnookyPook - look after yourself. I'm sorry the unit wasn't very understanding. I felt like that when I called my GP with my MC m. They were very dismissive and I ended up saying 'whilst you might deal with this reguarly it's my first time so I don't know what is happening and a bit of understanding would be appreciated whilst I try to understand this.'. I hope when the bleeding comes it's not to painful and is over quickly for you. Xx

BB2023 · 11/09/2023 21:20

Not much to report with me. My AF finished yesterday so CD5 today. Going to start OV tests on CD8 and then off we go again. Xx

EvelynKatie · 11/09/2023 21:49

Well my TWW begins, if I go off the static clear blue. Just waiting for my watch to record a temp rise now for the FF app.

SnookyPook · 11/09/2023 22:14

@Pineappleapple @BB2023 thank you ladies ❤️

Cressie2 · 11/09/2023 23:02

@SnookyPook @worldwidetravel2017 @Mrsspoon3 Really thinking of you all tonight and hope that you’re all taking it over the next few weeks. @SnookyPook your positive attitude, about it being better to lose it early than to build up hope and have a later miscarriage from a non viable pregnancy, is inspiring.

I’m still on my period so not in the next TWW just yet but hope you all get your BFPs.

No OPKs from my end this month. Just the clear blue ovulation device and a few days off work to chill.

SnookyPook · 11/09/2023 23:12

@Cressie2 ❤️ - good luck for this cycle! 😊

Twdfn123 · 12/09/2023 04:27

I know I'm silly wasting tests but I'm due on AF tomorrow and just did a clear blue weeks indicator and it says 2-3 weeks already. Gosh I hope this one sticks as I'm daring to be hopeful 🥲

I'm sorry for everyone else that have had chemicals etc...I really hope you get your sticky beans and im rely sorry if this comes across as insensitive but I just needed to tell someone.
