@H0pefull I'm most certainly negative today. Better luck next cycle. Even though it's just 9dpo for me, I always caught it at 8, so I'm not holding my breath for this one

As for bbt if you do it right, it's super helpful. I'm a mouth breather so for me it didn't work

RoseH36 · 02/09/2023 14:39

Well the torch just showed how extra white the tests are 🤣🤣

Having a cycle off I'm not pregnant this time round. I'm really fed up of my life being defined by testing and constantly wondering if I'm pregnant or not. We go away for a few days in a couple of weeks too so it would be nice to just enjoy it without having to take OPKs with me as I think I'd peak while we're away.

VixFromThe6ix · 02/09/2023 16:00

@RoseH36 that sounds nice!! No tracking, just enjoying. And you just never know, that might be the key to getting yourself to relax and it will happen naturally. I had a friend who tried and tried and they went on vacation and got pregnant because she finally relaxed and just let it happen. Fingers crossed for you

RoseH36 · 02/09/2023 16:20

@VixFromThe6ix thank you. That's a good point actually, you never know! Part of me felt like I could be wasting a month but I just need a break from it consuming me.

Eirlys1986 · 02/09/2023 17:54

I think that’s really sensible and wise idea @RoseH36 😊, it is ridiculously all consuming x

Bumblebee413 · 02/09/2023 21:33

Just wanted to thank you for the links @CurlyWurly1991. They were really interesting- love some good stats!

Sorry to hear about your cramps @Eirlys1986 and @H0pefull. It just adds injury to insult ☹️

I’ve treated this one as a month off. My DH came home on day 21 of my cycle. I’ve tracked twice before and ovulated on day 19 both days, so just accepted that we missed it this time. Well, I had until I started expecting my period today and naturally my brain went ‘But what if you didn’t ovulate on day 19…?’. on the plus side I am already due so it will be a short lived wondering and it’s been nice having a month off tbh.

I am hoping for a late period either way though, because he is away again already but only for a short stint. However when he comes back he has to stay away with work for a week in a different town (but within an hour by train). So the later I am this cycle, the better our chances of us being together around ovulation.

We’ve been trying for 6 months now, but I think we’ve only actually got the timings right twice with this working away malarkey. Life is going to be so much easier when he’s home for good in November. My plan is to look forward to that, just enjoy being with each other for a few months and go see my GP if there’s no baby by March.

@VixFromThe6ix just wanted to say that I’m invested in your pee stick saga and thinking of you from across the pond!!

VixFromThe6ix · 02/09/2023 21:55

@Bumblebee413 it must have been so difficult to plan around ovulation and your partner's travel schedule, I am sure you're so excited for November and some normalcy. But, let's see what happens this cycle!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
My stick peeing saga is very likely come to an end. They are all negative till I leave them to dry and I see a line which I found out from reading is just an indent of my pee drying up. Just strange that some of the sticks have them and some don't. Like I haven't had the indents on any of the tests from last cycles and this cycle I'm getting several. Ah, well, just reinforces the fact that I need to stop testing that early. No lie, I must have used 20 tests in the last three days, it's a sickness lol

Bumblebee413 · 03/09/2023 14:55

There wasn’t any planning possible unfortunately- we couldn’t change the dates so just DTD when we saw each other. My period has arrived today, so definitely not the lucky cycle. Next one doesn’t look good either, which rules us out until November/ December. Good grief.

I very much understand the saga. So much hope bundled up in those little sticks. It’s why people gamble- the potential of getting what you really want! X

SouthwestSis · 04/09/2023 08:06

So I am somewhere between 9 and 11 days PO according to my cycle trapping app, period due in 3-5 days time (cycle a bit irregular)

Tested yesterday and got a negative but it was a cheap crappy sugerdrug basic test.
Shall I buy a better test today or just wait?
I haven't got loads of cash to splash on testing.

Why have I got my hopes up on month 1 of proper trying??
I'm starting a new job on Wednesday so not as if I don't have other things to worry about!

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/09/2023 08:17

@SouthwestSis argh the waiting is agonising!
if you can possibly wait until AF you will get a more accurate result. I am kicking myself for doing early tests this cycle because it’s a waste. If early tests are negative I don’t trust them and if positive I would continue to test anyway as I would be worried about losing the pregnancy!
there are also the cheap internet strips but personally I don’t really like them.
best of luck to you x

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/09/2023 08:23

@Bumblebee413 planning the timing sounds really stressful. I think you said from November your DP will be back permanently, is that right?
no probs about the links. I have found lots in my trawling of the underbelly of TTC forums trying to find someone with exactly the same circumstances as me 😆
I’m 5 days late for AF, temp still high, testing negative every couple of days but the faintest barely there line on a boots early yesterday yday. DH couldn’t see it and thinks I’m going loopy.
i know that my hcg levels run lower than average as I was about a week late for my period when I finally tested positive with my first child.
I’ve collected some FMU and waiting for an Amazon delivery. I am losing my marbles a bit 😆

El1988 · 04/09/2023 09:59

@CurlyWurly1991 fingers crossed for you! Hoping that line gets darker and darker!

I’m officially very out for this month, where’s the September thread? 😅

wishing everyone who’s still waiting lots and lots of luck! 🤞🤞🤞

Optimist1981 · 04/09/2023 12:11

Sorry Ladies, I have a very hectic weekend so just catching up.

@CurlyWurly1991 so excited for you, fingers crossed this is your time.

@SouthwestSis I am on cycle 4 and was obsessed day 1 of trying. Getting the bug cycle 1 is by no means strange!! I’m a bit of a control freak and since I can’t control the outcome here it’s a process that is driving me nuts!

@Bumblebee413 sorry to hear you’re out and that your circumstances are probably making following any plan really difficult. Fingers crossed the stars align soon.

@VixFromThe6ix You’ve had it tough this cycle, fingers crossed for a smoother ride next time. I am buying internet cheapies for ovulation and hcg testing and have no complaints. If I did get a clear positive I’d probably confirm with a branded test. Things like indents and evap lines should be designed out!

@RoseH36 I’m obsessed with following “what worked” threads, people often say the minute they gave up was the cycle they succeeded. Fingers crossed that’s the case for you. If you find out how to be chill and not care too much – share the secret LOL!

I’m 4DPO today, anyone else a cycle mate?

VixFromThe6ix · 04/09/2023 12:26

@CurlyWurly1991 fingers crossed for you!!!!

@Optimist1981 thank you!! I'm still testing despite knowing it's in vain lol I have to do a blood test next week so the clinic knows to prepare for second cycle of IUI. Best of luck to you this cycle!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Optimist1981 · 04/09/2023 12:34

@VixFromThe6ix I'm dreading testing tbh, likelihood is neg and I'll be crushed. My partner isn't very supportive and quite dismissive. I guess because he has a child already we're not in the same boat too. Glad I have you girls for the journey. You know exactly what it's like!!

worldwidetravel2017 · 04/09/2023 12:54

15 /"16 ish days p.o here...

Feeling nausea

Cycles went crazy length ever since taking folic acid..

Expect period will be here in next 3 days

Will test later

worldwidetravel2017 · 04/09/2023 12:55

I have a gynae appt this month

BB2023 · 04/09/2023 14:48

Hi ladies, little update on me. Still no AF, did tests on Fri & yesterday and both were negative. No symptoms at all. Just feel really stuck waiting for AF to show.
As you all know it's my first cycle after MC and I know it can take 4-6weeks for AF to return but I was really hoping it would be here by now. I did OV tests and got a peak reading on 18th August so if that was true then I should have AF by now. I guess maybe my hormones were just all over the place. SIGH. x

worldwidetravel2017 · 04/09/2023 14:55

@BB2023 your ovulation was only 1 day different 2 mine

Anxiety / stress can also delay period

Lets hope we both know one way or otherwise soon

H0pefull · 04/09/2023 15:21

Fingers crossed for you @CurlyWurly1991 !!☺️xx

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/09/2023 15:53

Thanks for all the kind messages!
2 more BfNs for me on the Internet cheapy strips (wondfo) so at 19dpo I am still none the wiser. think I will keep temping and do a cheap test every day until AF shows (or not).
hope everyone is enjoying / surviving this heat!

VixFromThe6ix · 04/09/2023 18:22

@Optimist1981 sorry to hear about your partner. I think maybe they don't wanna get excited till it's a sure thing? I know mine, when I showed him my 6dpo test from this cycle where I saw a line. He said he sees it too but that I shouldn't test so early. I kind of felt deflated by the response, but he later said he doesn't want to get excited till it's a sure thing because we had unsuccessful pregnancies in the past and it was tough on both of us as we got excited only to be heartbroken later.
But we are all here whenever you wanna share good bad, indifferent things. I really appreciate this group. I don't have many people to talk to about my journey so it's been nice to be able to share.
@CurlyWurly1991 sorry you're getting bfns. How confusing!! Have you had cycles like this before??
@BB2023 the waiting must have been frustrating for you. You're probably right that your hormones are still settling after the MC. Hope you get your period back soon so you can start fresh.

OP posts:
SouthwestSis · 04/09/2023 18:59

You're right @CurlyWurly1991 every test is a few quid I could be spending on the little boy I already have! Not to mention the environmental waste.
So gonna stick to no early testing for now. Just got my period, another irregular cycle! Am going to save my money to put towards babysitter for date night for next cycle haha. I figure the more relaxed I am, the better our chances!

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/09/2023 19:18

@SouthwestSis sorry to hear the witch got you this cycle. Definitely invest that money on fun instead! If nothing else it will keep you sane!!
@VixFromThe6ix I haven’t had anything like this since I started chatting again recently, all my ovulatory cycles have been easy to decipher most of the time with a clear thermal shift after ovulation, fertile cervical mucous etc. I know from my first pregnancy that I run lower than average in terms of starting hcg and got my first bfp within the time limit at 20dpo when I was 7days late. I have just had the faintest squinter just now on a wondfo strip this evening so wonder if evening wee is better for me?! Will try tomorrow eve if AF hasn’t arrived yet.
I totally agree about early testing and sharing with DH. Mine has really suffered with a rollercoaster of emotions every cycle and it’s a bit like ‘the boy that cried wolf’. I was convinced first cycle TTC that I was pregnant but I wasn’t, but I had told him I thought he was. Felt really bad telling him when AF arrived. This cycle he can see that something is different, and he has been asking me what is going on with the tests etc but I am trying to protect him a bit from the disappointment.
if anyone knows how it is possible to avoid TTC taking over your life, I would love to know! 😆

CurlyWurly1991 · 04/09/2023 19:21

This is how squinty I’m talking. You can see my neon yellow wee on the strip sorry!
