AF arrived on Saturday so that's cycle 2 done with. AF seems quite a bit lighter this time around. Ordered some Clearblue ovulations tests ready for cycle 3!

Mrsspoon3 · 29/08/2023 14:32

Thanks so much for the replies @CurlyWurly1991 , @RoseH36 and @MrsBP15 💗

Thanks for the premom recommendations, that sounds great! I’ll try it next cycle 😊
It seems like that was my positive OPK as according to my bbt chart on the FF app I ovulated that day. I’m now 7dpo and desperate to test even though I’m sure I won’t be pregnant 😂

Happy belated birthday @VixFromThe6ix! I hope you had a lovely day! 😊

VixFromThe6ix · 29/08/2023 17:25

@worldwidetravel2017 sounds promising!!! When do you plan to test?? At 10dpo I would have tested three times already lmao... But that's a "me" issue obv. Fingers crossed for you!!

@CurlyWurly1991 sending you baby dust for a BFP!!!

Hi all, first cycle of trying to conceive number 2 for me this month. Hard to tell how many days I am PO as I have quite irregular cycles.
Can anyone give me a quick summary if I want to start ovulation testing next month? When do you start testing, how frequently do you start testing, that kind of thing?
Was very lucky to conceive number 1 in 3 months at age 32 but know I may not be so lucky trying to conceive number 2 at 35 and a shift work job that leaves me constantly knackered!

VixFromThe6ix · 29/08/2023 17:28

@EvelynKatie hope cycle 3 is your cycle!!! Clearblue can get expensive!! I use easy@home sticks. Cheap and quite accurate... Just a suggestion :) pair it with premom app and you won't miss your ovulation

@Mrsspoon3 thank you!! It was lovely.... Had french food at a fancy restaurant, felt fancy hahah and I second easy@home sticks with premom app!!! It's so easy to use and so helpful

Hi and welcome!!!
I use easy@home ovulation sticks and downloaded a Premom app to use in conjunction.
I start testing 10 days since the beginning of my period. Test once a day in the morning. Most ladies say to test with second oee, but my fertility clinic says to test with first pee. Once the LH line is almost as dark at the test line, I start testing twice a day just to I can pin point my "peak". When you get a "peak" that means that you will be ovulating within the next 24-36hrs and that's a good time to DTD.
Good luck!!!

Welcome! Lovely to have you here. Wishing you lots of luck in your journey.
I use Clear Blue Ov Tests, they are digital so do cost more than other tests but I like that it takes the guess work out of things. I usually start testing on Day 7 of my cycle (which is a bit early really) and then see it go from Low to High to Peak fertility. x

CaffeineAndCrochet · 29/08/2023 20:54

DH and I got our initial investigation results from bloods and his SA. Everything within normal range, although one thing on the lower side of normal. Now we've to decide what to do and whether to go to a fertility clinic - I'm 38 now so GP told us not to hang around. Am thinking of trying one more cycle naturally as am due to ovulate next week, and then making the appointment.

Pineappleapple · 29/08/2023 21:55

2dpo here. Anyone else not mind the start of 2ww? Feel like I can relax a bit as I can't influence the result at this point.
@El1988 hope you got a chance for a chill and a cry. Some months it feels very hard.
@CaffeineAndCrochet I think initially the fertility clinic would do investigations rather than go straight for treatment if that makes sense. So could do alongside trying naturally. I think so anyway. There can sometimes be a little wait too, a month or two here.

MrsBP15 · 29/08/2023 22:06

Welcome @SouthwestSis i track ovulation on Flo and use OPK strips from day 8 and then when line gets stronger, I start using CB digital as well just to be sure. I also use Premom app with OPKs. I test with first urine of the day and have always caught positives like this. Some say test twice a day but I haven’t needed to.

Quick question for those who have used Proceive- I bought the tablets for husband and I. Should I stop taking pregnacare etc whilst I’m taking them this month?

I would (and have), yes.

Eirlys1986 · 29/08/2023 22:19

@MrsBP15 yes no need to keep taking pregnacare alongside the proceive as the proceive contains everything the pregnacare does but with the higher doses and lots of the additional vitamins too 👍🏻

MrsBP15 · 29/08/2023 22:37

Thanks @ChildrenOfTheQuorn @Eirlys1986 Thats what I thought! Capsules started today so we’ll see how we go 😊

CurlyWurly1991 · 30/08/2023 08:50

@CaffeineAndCrochet sounds like some good and some mixed news from the testing? Someone on here recommended the podcast ‘don’t tell me to relax’ and I listed to an episode on tests for male fertility the other day. It was really excellent and quite encouraging. Might be worth a listen while you plan your next steps?

CurlyWurly1991 · 30/08/2023 08:55

14dpo here, no spotting or AF yet (usually starts 13dpo). Temp still reasonably high but disrupted sleep and wake up times this past couple of weeks have impacted reliability of that.
Going to wait until the evening and if no AF will test. Found some interesting info about timing of pregnancy tests (see below). It’s reassuring as I only got a BFP with my first child on 18dpo but now I realise I was always using FMU.

I’ve also read something lately about how pink dye tests can absolutely be valid outside of the time frame, as the urine continues to move up the strip (covered by the cap, eg a FRER). The second line will only turn pink with hcg which is only produced in pregnancy. My bfp with my first child was actually negative within the time frame at 18dpo and I checked it in the bin after 8hours and there was a faint pink line!

@CurlyWurly1991 Let us know how you get on when testing later 🤞 Really hope it's BFP for you. Xx

VixFromThe6ix · 30/08/2023 14:32

@CurlyWurly1991 I second what @BB2023 said... fingers crossed for a BFP when you test!!!

I'm 6dpo today and I just tested because as I said I have no patience lol and I see an ever so light line. 6dpo sounds awfully early to get a positive. Is this a chemical or a faulty test?? And this is my second or third wee of the day.... Do you see it??

CurlyWurly1991 · 30/08/2023 14:45

@VixFromThe6ix I see it very easily! Wow !!! Do you have any other tests in to confirm? Excited for you xx

VixFromThe6ix · 30/08/2023 14:48

@CurlyWurly1991 some time passed and now I feel like my eyes are playing tricks on me. I think I have one digital test left but I don't wanna use it this early because these easy at home tests are way more sensitive. Maybe at 10dpo I will try using it if I'm still getting a line on these cheapies. I had a cycle where I had these very faint lines on and off for a few days before and it was a chemical.

OP posts:
Eirlys1986 · 30/08/2023 14:48

@VixFromThe6ix i see that very easily too! 2nd or 3rd wee of the day is more likely to be accurate anyway, especially when you are earlier dpo. Perhaps you are testing positive earlier due to the IUI? I know ivf tests earlier so presume perhaps IUI could too. Have you anymore tests to do more tonight?

VixFromThe6ix · 30/08/2023 14:51

@Eirlys1986 oh I didn't know IVF tests earlier. They gave me a requisition to test two weeks after the procedure which falls sometime next week. I have a whole box of these cheapies. Should I try testing again on the next wee or wait till tomorrow??

OP posts:
Eirlys1986 · 30/08/2023 14:53

@VixFromThe6ix well you may get a darker line testing in the evening as per article @CurlyWurly1991 sent earlier (I think it was you!). I would test tonight, mainly because I have no self control so couldn’t wait until tomorrow

VixFromThe6ix · 30/08/2023 14:55

@Eirlys1986 no self control sounds exactly like me. Ok I will test again. Guys I'm low key freaking out. Could this be? I never had a faulty test, so this could also be my first one of those.

OP posts:
Eirlys1986 · 30/08/2023 15:08

@VixFromThe6ix hopefully it will be positive again but there’s always a possibility with retests this early on it may appear negative. I think with the pink dye tests you are far less likely to have false positives so o shall keep my fingers crossed for you
