TTC a Rainbow...

Halpmer · 27/06/2023 08:37

Hello everyone. I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is out there TTC their rainbow baby 🌈 and wants to join me?

Any loss is a valid loss here, early miscarriage, late miscarriage, chemicals, TFMRs etc. I know we can sometimes face judgement from others or have others not understand!

@Daniki who prescribed your letrozole? My GP won't, apparently has to come from a consultant because it's a specialist drug 😔 so I'm going to go private! Otherwise I will waste another however many months.

Vic231 · 04/10/2023 12:16

@Daniki oh okay - thank you! I've had a whole host of bloods done and my next one is to have a blood test on the 2nd day of my
Period. It's kind of reassuring to hear that there are so many tests that they can do x

Angelselevenx · 04/10/2023 12:17

@bringmearainbow glad you're speaking to doctors over October, hopefully they'll be able to bring some clarity and next steps for you.

I'm CD30 today so AF is due Friday as I'm 10dpo and my LP is always a full 11 days with AF coming on the 12th day. Did a test yesterday and BFN so I think I'm out this month plus I haven't had any symptoms etc. just waiting for my progesterone blood results now, I had my second test done last Friday xx

GreenMug30 · 04/10/2023 12:19

Hi ladies, I lost my old login details so I'm back with a new name - I used to be jessie30.
Last time I was on there were a few BFPS, and Im so so sorry to read that there have been losses 🤍🤍🤍 it's so unfair.

I was really struggling with everything so I had a little break from ttc last month. I've started some meds and a new job and feeling a bit better now.

Nothing new my side, im 10dpo today but not too hopeful. This month I started proceive and ovulated early on day 15 (I'm usually 17/18) so that's hopefully good for future cycles 🤞

im pretty sure I've got a cold/bug as I've been feeling so groggy the past few days so mentally preparing for af to show up this weekend!

how are you all?

Daniki · 04/10/2023 12:22

@moosey89 I got mine prescribed private I went to a specialist in feb after second miscarriage as my gp couldn't do anything and I didn't meet the criteria yet for the public clinic so just paid privately and iv found her very good! Went back in September as trouble getting pregnant again and she ordered the HSG and prescribed the letrozole! I defo recommend going private! It hasn't been too expensive either(I'm in Ireland tho just to be clear 😂)

moosey89 · 04/10/2023 12:26

@Daniki thank you that's great to hear! I've found a specialist here, before an appointment they want an AMH blood test done (so I've ordered a home one) and a follicles count scan. I've got an NHS scan on the 11th but I don't know exactly what it covers so I'm holding off until then as if it covers what the private clinic needs it'll save me £170 😂
I'm really hoping that for my December cycle I can be sorted and on some sort of meds as my progresterone is clearly low, this month was even lower than last which was only just borderline in the "maybe you ovulated/maybe you didn't" category!

Daniki · 04/10/2023 13:23

@moosey89 hopefully you get sorted 🤞🏻 in trying to up my intake of foods with vit c and selenium to help my progesterone as well as taking them in vitamins aswell, the things we do! 🙈

SnookyPook · 11/10/2023 14:40

A bit of tentative positive news from me... Barely dare hope after the year I've had but.... Here we go again 😊🙏🌈

TTC a Rainbow...
Daniki · 11/10/2023 16:24

😍 oh @SnookyPook I hope this is a sticky one 🙌🙏🙏🙏

Vic231 · 11/10/2023 16:48

Yay @SnookyPook this is great news!

How is everyone else doing? I'm just feeling a bit frustrated at not TTC until my last lot of blood tests at the end of the month. I'm very grateful at having them done but there's something about actively TTC that brings me some hope x

Angelselevenx · 11/10/2023 20:06

@SnookyPook congratulations 😊

Daniki · 11/10/2023 21:36

@Vic231 its hard to leave a month, it feels like a waste of time! But it's not and hopefully you get some answers 🙌
I have my hsg in the morning, dreading it 😂 and started letrozole this month so hopefully this cycle works out 🤪

Daniki · 12/10/2023 10:33

Had my HSG this morn, dr said it looks like everything is clear but I have some scarring on from previous surgeries. He will send a more detailed report to my dr tomorrow but sounds good! So hopefully between that and the letrzole it'll be a good month 🙏

Vic231 · 12/10/2023 15:19

Thanks @Daniki, you are right. Although after saying that last night, we ended up DTD in the middle of the night and typically right on ovulation day! All logic defo went out the window 😂 I felt a bit silly this morning as we haven't had the blood tests on day 2 of my cycle yet (which will be at the end of this TWW) and we were waiting for that before trying again, however I would be surprised if we conceived on that one attempt - although I do know what's all it takes! Either way it does feel a bit more positive in a way, I will either be pregnant or having a blood test to help us move forward! On the flip side we have had all the results back on the main blood test for things like clotting, thyroid etc and they were all normal, so I do think that what will be, will be with this cycle!

Also Daniki that sounds like a really optimistic appointment, and glad that is over for you! I have my fingers crossed for you x

Halpmer · 16/10/2023 05:11

Hi all, I'm glad to see investigations and things happening and some tentative positives occurring!

I decided to become more absent here with our good news as I know it can be really hard after loss to have others sharing good news. I've thought of you all this last week during Baby Loss Awareness week and I hope you are all looking after yourselves ❤️

It's lovely to see the thread sticking as a small community space for those TTC after loss 🥹

@SnookyPook congrats 🥳 come on stick baby 💪🏼

@Daniki fingers crossed it's a good month for you 🤞🏼

@Vic231 I know how you feel. We weren't trying this cycle as I have an appointment with a thyroid dr at the end of the month but I didn't pay attention to dates we dtd Sunday and I think I'm about 90% sure I'm ovulating today 😳 big ooops and now I feel like a dohnut for not properly tracking. I'm sorry I don't know your story but when they told you your thyroid levels are normal did they give you your figures? A lot of drs will say your thyroid is in range which it might be but from a TTC perspective in range can still be too high.

@Angelselevenx how you doing lovely?

Angelselevenx · 17/10/2023 11:08

@bringmearainbow hey, how're you?

I'm okay thanks, I'm CD14 of cycle 9 now, O is due in the next 6 days or so. Started new supplements, the wild nutrition ones so let's see if they help. Getting a bit bored of TTC now tbh 😅

Vic231 · 17/10/2023 11:15

@bringmearainbow My story is TFMR at 25 weeks and 2 early MCs (5 weeks and 5+4) no living children. Sounds very similar in terms of having an oops moment! I'd stopped looking at my app so intently whilst we waited and then couldn't believe it when it was ovulation day! My results were given to me over the phone with the recurrent miscarriage clinic, who didn't tell me the figures but said they were in normal range. As it is the clinic I assume they would say in relation to TTC? However I don't have a consultant appointment until January so maybe not 🤷🏻‍♀️

bringmearainbow · 17/10/2023 11:54

@Angelselevenx I'm good trying not to be negative but it's so hard to see a pregnancy actually working out at this point! I'm trying to get all my info together to go and see the the Dr in the next couple of weeks so I can present 😂 the drs gonna love me 🙈 did your test results come back with anything? I know it's so hard to keep finding enthusiasm for it it gets old very very quickly all the tracking.

@Vic231 is it nhs or private clinic? If it was me I would ask to see a copy of your results. I've discovered a lot this year that drs have differing opinions on results esp miscarriage tests there's such a large range of them and where one drs interest might be thyroid relating to pregnancy another dr doesn't know much about it and their interest will be in a different field relating the pregnancy. I had to get my results and do my research and advocate for where I am now which I know shouldn't be the case but it is and annoyingly my levels are still not optimal but on the face of it my results look in range so I still have some battles to get through with the dr

Vic231 · 17/10/2023 12:22

@bringmearainbow NHS. And you are so right! With everything I just put my trust in them knowing what they are on about. Off the back of your message I've emailed our amazing grief midwife to ask how I can get my bloods emailed to me, thank you!

Angelselevenx · 17/10/2023 13:57

@bringmearainbow aww I know what you mean. Maybe you should create a PowerPoint 🤣🤣

Well, no, the doctors weren't concerned but I had my day21 tests done on day 25 as I ovulate later and have a shorter LP (11 days) so I had my test done 7 days before my next period which was only 4DPO and it came back as 19 but they say over 15 for confirmed ovulation. But over 30 for mid LP but as mines shorter it was confusing on when we could do the test. Anyway, rambling, they've referred me (it was a new doctor explaining my results and I don't think he had a clue) 🤣

bringmearainbow · 17/10/2023 15:07

@Vic231 tbh you wouldn't even think to question what they say I certainly never used to they are the "experts" after all it's only through the problems I've had and chatting to others that I started to. If you need an extra pair of eyes on your results give me a shout I'm good at interpreting thyroid now 😂

@Angelselevenx PowerPoint is a super idea 🤣 ahhh yes that is confusing but at least it showed ovulation that's a good step. Have they referred you for more tests?

Vic231 · 17/10/2023 15:24

@bringmearainbow thank you so much - they are going to send them to me in the post! 🙌🏼

Vic231 · 20/10/2023 17:46

Hi @bringmearainbow I have my results letter and it's like a minefield 😂 all of them are in the 'range' that they set but some of them are at the top end, with none at the lower end. Did you just google and research each one?

bringmearainbow · 20/10/2023 18:03

@Vic231 if you want to dm me I can have a look? It's def a bit of a minefield I remember getting my first lot back and thinking wtf. I didn't google everything but it's def a good place to start esp if some of them are in the higher end of the range. I already knew my thyroid labs were out just from talking to others here and I joined a really great Fb group for it. Then I just kind of used a bit of does that look logical like my vitamin D was in range but only by 9. Normal was 50-200 deficient was below 50 and my level was 59 so I started taking extra vit D to bring it up.
