TTC a Rainbow...

Hello everyone. I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is out there TTC their rainbow baby 🌈 and wants to join me?

Any loss is a valid loss here, early miscarriage, late miscarriage, chemicals, TFMRs etc. I know we can sometimes face judgement from others or have others not understand!

@Oxalis00 I feel you on the husband thing! Although he does take them, he's just so laid back about it! Oh I take all 3 tablets at once after breakfast...

This what ovum said about the urine smell, from a few years ago, which I found really reassuring!

"We have had three other OVUM ladies report a change of smell in their urine so we asked our medical team to look into this and the answer is quite interesting. It is very likely to do with the Vitamins B contained in OVUM and how well we each individually absorb Vitamins B and whether we’re deficient in it or not.

Someone who isn’t deficient in B6 and B12 will likely excrete any excess they don’t require and, with the high quality B vitamins you find in OVUM, it will give off an asparagus type smell. It is entirely harmless and simply means you’re well topped up on the B6 ad B12 front. It also means you’re likely absorbing them really well, which is great to hear I’m sure.

Not all types of Vitamin B are created equal. Other brands use a lower dose and cheaper less bioavailable form and so absorption rates will vary and an excretion smell in urine would not be noticeable.

All the ingredients found in OVUM are in their most bioavailable form and at the maximum dose which we know from scientific research can improve egg health and reserve. This does make it a more expensive product, but also makes it the most powerful pre-conception and ovulation support supplement available today."

@SnookyPook @Oxalis00 with my daughters due date as we lost her at 25 weeks, I was still on maternity leave so I went to the beach with my dog and had a solo lunch in a cute cafe. I'd lost a lot of my confidence so it was quite a big thing for me to do all that by myself but it was so important and I'm so glad I did. When we were in the hospital I was given an aching arms bear so I popped him in a back pack and he came on the beach trip with us too!

Oxalis00 · 25/09/2023 21:28

@Vic231 Yes it’s exactly like asparagus - if I’d eaten a whole field-full! Thanks so much for sharing that info. Interesting it’s the B vits. I knew they could change the colour of urine (I got used to seeing neon yellow from Proceive) but not smell. I’m slightly sceptical of some of the Ovum claims - I’ve been B12 deficient before so looked into the different forms and I’m not sure cyanocobalamin (which they use) is the best, though there may well be studies I haven’t read. Also when they say the excretion of excess shows your body is absorbing it well - surely it could also be interpreted as your body not absorbing it? But I choose to suspend my disbelief! It’s definitely worth a try. I might even up my dose to the full 3 a day!

It brought a tear to my eye reading your story of your loss and how you spent the due date. I really relate to what you say about losing confidence…I’m only just realising how the MC affected me in those more subtle ways. Good for you taking some time with your dog and the teddy and for yourself. It sounds like a wonderful gentle way of honouring your relationship with your daughter.

SnookyPook · 25/09/2023 21:30

@Vic231 aw that sounds like a lovely way to have spent what was no doubt a super difficult day. I can't imagine how you pick yourself up after such a late loss. 💕 I love that the bear came with you. I was given one too - maybe I should take him somewhere on the day!

oop · 26/09/2023 20:31

@Vic231 @Angelselevenx @SnookyPook @Oxalis00 thanks so much ladies. I'm trying to just see it as we've got over the first hurdle (conceiving) but still got a few more hurdles to go until I can allow myself to feel pregnant. Test today was much darker again so fingers crossed.

@Westsussex welcome! So sorry to hear about your miscarriage, it's so hard and can feel very isolating at times. This group has been really helpful for me to talk to others that really do get it. Hope it does the same for you x

SnookyPook · 26/09/2023 21:22

@oop I completely get that! But... crossing that first hurdle is a great start! 🤞🏻💕🌈

Peak opk today for me so shortly into the tww. We've not managed to dtd much this cycle but it is what it is.

BrwnX · 02/10/2023 17:10

I can't believe it girls 🥺🥺 so much mixed emotions right now after my MC last time but I am really hoping this time is my time.
My last period was 01st-06th September so am I right in saying I am roughly 5 weeks on Friday coming?

I only have you girls and my husband to chat with just now as we are wanting to get our first scan to make sure everything's ok.

We were told to call the EPU when I fell pregnant again but I suppose I am still too early to even do that.

What did you all do when you finally got your BFP after your MC?

Xx

Congrats @BrwnX this is very exciting! Though a nervy time too, I’m sure. Your dates sound right to me. How long were you trying after your MC? It is early but there’s every chance this could be your rainbow! I’d say call EPU now anyway, and let them tell you when they want you in. Keep us posted! Good luck :)

BrwnX · 02/10/2023 17:36

Thank you @Oxalis00 my emotions are all over the place!
So I had my MC on the weekend of the 22nd July and it was then confirmed on the 27th July with blood tests etc
I really am hoping this is our rainbow baby 🥺🌈

Yeah I was thinking I will give them a wee phone tomorrow anyway and then at least they can point me in the right direction xx

oop · 02/10/2023 18:15

Congratulations @BrwnX !
Timing sounds right. My last period was 1st Sept and I'm 5 weeks on Wednesday so similar timings.
I haven't done anything official about mine yet but I wasnt told to contact epu after my miscarriage or anything. I'd just call them and see what they say!

Westsussex · 02/10/2023 20:22

@BrwnX that's such beautiful news!! Congratulations ♥️ I haven't had my pregnancy after mc yet, I can imagine how excited, happy and relieved you must feel, but also so nervous and worried. I honestly wish you the most healthy, happy pregnancy xxxx

Westsussex · 02/10/2023 20:25

Thank you @oop that's really kind of you xx

BrwnX · 02/10/2023 21:26

Thank you @oop I think I'm going to give them a wee call tomorrow and just see what they say. Congratulations to you also! 😚

Thank you so much @Westsussex I am definitely feeling all of those feelings that's for sure 🥺 wishing for you to get you BFP very soon 🫶🏻💗

SnookyPook · 02/10/2023 22:13

@BrwnX aw how lovely - congratulations 🥰

BrwnX · 03/10/2023 02:53

Thank you @SnookyPook ❤️

bringmearainbow · 03/10/2023 16:12

Hi 👋🏼 just wondering if I can join you ladies? I just had my 4th MMC last week. It's been a long 18 months 🙈

Daniki · 03/10/2023 17:21

@bringmearainbow ah no I'm sorry to hear that 😢

SnookyPook · 03/10/2023 18:51

@bringmearainbow of course you can join - so sorry for your losses. Hope you're as ok as can be. Xx

Angelselevenx · 03/10/2023 21:09

Hi lovely @bringmearainbow xx

BrwnX · 04/10/2023 06:21

Sorry to hear that @bringmearainbow sending hugs 🫶🏻❤️

Daniki · 04/10/2023 09:16

Has anyone on this thread being on letrozole or had a HSG? AF started today so I'm starting letrozole tomorrow, I have a HSG test booked for the 12th. Just wondering if it's ok to TTC in the same cycle as the HSG or does it affect it?

bringmearainbow · 04/10/2023 10:10

@Daniki @SnookyPook @BrwnX @Angelselevenx thanks ladies ❤️ I'm not in too bad a headspace awful to say I tried not to get too attached this time 🙈 I've got a couple of drs to see in oct so hopefully something will come of those 🤞🏼

@Angelselevenx where are you at in your cycle now? I think last time we spoke properly you were at the beginning and having blood tests?

moosey89 · 04/10/2023 11:49

@Daniki not yet but I think that might be an option for me once I've seen the consultant so interested to hear how your experience goes.

Vic231 · 04/10/2023 11:53

@moosey89 @Daniki if you don't mind explaining, what are both of those tests to find out? (If they are tests?!)

Daniki · 04/10/2023 12:04

@Vic231 is it for progesterone? They do a blood test at day 21 of your cycle to check your levels and it will show basically if you ovulated. Mine was low so I'm starting letrozole tomorrow.
The HSG is an X-ray of your tubes, they flush a dye through to see if they are blocked or not! X
