👋
I'm just trying to get an idea and a bit of hope in TTC over 40, and for me...mid 40's!
I'm 44 and will soon be 45 🙃
TTC number 2.
Have been trying for over a year.
IVF not an option.
Delayed our TTC number 2 because of Covid.
Anyone in the same boat?

Hiya. i’ve just turned 43 and been ttc for 17 cycles now and every single month a negative test.
we have our first fertility appointment in a couple of weeks and I’m feeling really nervous about it.
my periods are super regular and have had 21 day progesterone test done and gp said all seemed normal.
my hubby is now concerned it may be him.
we have 2 other children who were both conceived very quickly and gp said that men’s fertility doesn’t vary too much, so who knows.

@unicornglitter123 do you use ovulation prediction kits?

x

Hi all,
Ive been ttc since feb of this year. Have older children from previous marriage never had any problems getting pregnant. Had 3 early miscarriages this year and im fast approaching 45. Due on tomorrow, having all the symptoms but just bfn. Is there any hope or should I just give up ?

rainyday32 · 15/08/2023 11:51

I've just turned 45 and TTC number 2 for nearly 2 years...
Have kind of given up 😀
I'm very grateful for my beautiful DD1...
It may well be the end of the road, told my chances are like 1% 😣

Reddog76 · 30/09/2023 14:33

I'm 46 and ttc no. 2 too. Had DD at 41. I'm hoping that there is 1 good egg in me.

BucksOxonMum · 30/09/2023 15:01

I’m 43 and have just started ttc. I’ve been having some peri signs though, so really not sure if it will happen for me

Reddog76 · 30/09/2023 15:47

@BucksOxonMum what signs of peri have you had?

I'm currently taking ubiquionol x 400mg, folic acid and vitamin D. Trying to ignore my signs of insomnia and pms. Losing a bit of weight too is on my list.

BucksOxonMum · 30/09/2023 15:56

@Reddog76 Hi. I’ve had brain fog, some mini hot flushes and my cycles are now shorter. I’m trying not to worry. I’m taking vits too, so is my husband. Also having fertility reflexology.

lillypilly7 · 01/10/2023 05:41

Just turned 45, TTC number 2 for 18 months now.
Had our DD1 when I was 40.

I've been taking Blackmores conceive plus vitamins on and off...

DH is losing weight and I'm trying to loose some weight too...

Anyone using OPK's or temping?

Using also the Flo app. Although the prescription seems a waste of money 😊
Cancelled after a year.
Did not help at all!

Anyway, anyone got any positive stories?

Brit80 · 09/10/2023 19:54

Hi, we have been trying to conceive for over a year. I think praying and hoping this is my month. This cycle I didn't report any cramps hardly which is strange for me. Only now on dpo 9/10 I felt cramps on and off for few hours. I tested this morning and got this.. please please let this be it!! What do you think?

Anngin · 09/10/2023 22:19

I see 2 lines @Brit80 !

I am also ttc, 44 and hopeful as I've been prescribed letrozole as a last hope.

DC1 conceived first month trying then held off trying again as expected it to just happen. Unfortunately nearly 3 years and 2 losses later it hasn't happened yet for us.

Wishing everyone well.

Brit80 · 09/10/2023 22:38

Thank you Anngin! I honestly have no advice. I do not know why it has happened this month for us. I guess just caught the right egg! Hoping this sticks
All the best on your journey lots of baby dust ❣️

lillypilly7 · 10/10/2023 09:59

@Anngin let us know how you go!
I'm 45 TTC number 2....

Rainbows121 · 06/11/2023 23:02

Hi, I've just turned 44 and ttc #2 for nearly 2 years now. Trying to stay hopeful

Holls81 · 07/11/2023 12:31

@Rainbows121 hiya. Have you had any assessments done? I’m waiting on hospital test results but am in a similar situation. Pelvic ultrasound all looks
good, blood tests all came back in normal range. Waiting for hubbys swimmers result but doc has said he thinks he’s unlikely to be the issue as has 2 children. 2 years on and not a single positive test for us 🥲

Rainbows121 · 07/11/2023 15:06

Hi @Holls81
I've only had the standard bloods done within NHS but I paid to have further blood tests which also came back with no issues, same with husband.
I've started having monthly acupuncture which I have read can help.
We can't really afford the IVF route so I just have to hope for that one good egg.

VioletHaze24 · 30/12/2023 08:48

I’m 43 and been trying for 4 years pretty much (on and off). One failed round of IVF 2 years ago. No MCs as never had a positive pregnancy test. Take a prenatal, COQ10, Vit D and Macca. Have tried so many more supplements over the years (Pregnacare, Proceive Max etc.) and nothing has worked 🙁 DH to have his SA check again in January. Anyone taking DHEA?

So sorry to hear this. It’s awful when you’re trying so hard.

I'm also 43, this is only our third cycle trying though.

Have you thought about fertility reflexology? X

Room4onemore · 02/01/2024 13:05

I’m 41, my youngest is 9 months, always got pregnant really quickly. I’m on the injection at the minute but I’m not going for my next jab, so my periods should return from February. I’m going to buy some ovulation sticks to see if that helps

BeckyPfromLeeds · 02/01/2024 20:45

Hi All, I'd like to join if I can. I am 41 (42 on Friday), and we have finally decided to try. It may be a long road for us as over the past 1-2 years, my cycles have been all over the place. I have had a few tests and an ultrasound, which confirmed i have a fibroid. I may also have suspected pcos and/or in peri-menopause. It's been 10 months since they referred me to the fertility clinic and I am still waiting to hear from them about an appointment.

I started taking pregnacare conception about 5 days ago, and it seemed to have brought my period on 9 days early!! Which I am happy with, to be honest, as hopefully it means I might ovulate sooner so here's to CD2 😁

Anyway, enough about me. Good luck to everyone else and big sprinkles of baby dust to all ✨️

BeckyPfromLeeds · 02/01/2024 20:48

I forgot to mention that this will be our first x x

Em39al · 08/02/2024 08:34

Hi, this is just the chat I’ve been looking for, I turned 40 in October last year and have been trying for our first since July last year. Not had any blood tests of fertility testing done. I think both me and the other half are super stressed about the possibility of it not happening (which I realise doesn’t help) 🙈
I temp and use OPK’s. Had two temp drops this cycle so thinking I’m out again :(
best of luck to you all x

theleavesfall24 · 09/02/2024 07:18

Welcome @Em39al
If it helps....I had my first when I was 40.
I never got along with OPKs - never got a positive using them but fell pregnant after 7 months of trying!
A just took a good pre pregnancy vitamin and totally cut back on any alcohol, not that we drank much in the first place 😊
Also walked and went for a few runs to exercise when I got back from work ( when the weather wasn't freezing!).

We thought we would have a second but unfortunately it didn't happen. I'm now 45 and probably now at the end of the line. But we have a beautiful 5 year old and feel blessed we have her 😊

Em39al · 09/02/2024 11:38

@theleavesfall24 thank you so much for your reply! That’s super reassuring! 😁 I didn’t get a peak this month. But I have been using the clear blue fertility monitor and I think it’s just missed it. Been that you only test once a day! Not sure I’ll continue using it as it’s expensive for the refills and just does what the ordinary opks do anyway. 🙈

taking pregnancy vitamins and don’t drink, just need to get on the exercise bandwagon I think lol! Never been my strong suit! 🤣 must work on my patience, just hard when the clocks ticking away!

theleavesfall24 · 09/02/2024 21:00

@Reddog76 how are you going? Just read your post. I'm 45 and TTC number 2. Are you using OPK's ? Temping?

Isitthathardtobekind · 09/02/2024 22:57

I’m just 44. Properly (ish) trying for a year now. Have 2 older ones. Been checking ovulation but never get a true positive. Cycles have been much shorter the past 3 months. And fairly short the 3 months before that. Currently day 24. By 25 that’s usually it. Last month only got to 22days. No breast pain yet this time which is definitely unusual based on the past 6 months.
