Hi ladies

I thought I’d create this thread if anyone wants to jump on.

I have a little boy who was 2 in April šŸ’–

we decided in March to start trying for baby #2 and we were delighted to get pregnant that same month! Unfortunately we lost the baby at the end of April at 6w 4d

The MC is completed and I have taken an OPK this morning which looks to be really high. Not quite peak but definitely high which is just great that I’m ovulating again! I didn’t know what would happen. We both feel ready to try again this month so will be going for it.

Whether you’re TTC baby #1 #2 #3 etc you’re welcome to jump on ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

@DmcinT that’s a great way to think about it! I could just go with the flow and see what my body is ready to do (although my personality is not good at going with the flow, I like knowing exactly what is going on šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚)
hopefully this will be your lucky cycle and this will be your last TWW for a while! šŸ¤žšŸ¼

Freddie15VES · 31/05/2023 21:10

@DmcinT im approx 2/3 DPO yeah! Feeling mega bloated but always get this bad around ovulation. Do weirdly find it triggering cos bloating was my first early preg sign last time 😩

@Silverpixieflorence hello and welcome 😊

@vjb39 ah yes, it is reassuring to get that negative test (which also feels so weird to say doesn't it.. but once you know the worst has happened I think you just want to be able to move forwards from it). I suspect what you describe "feeling absolutely terrified but doesn't stop me wanting to try" describes it very well! Yeah the timing of trying again is a bit weird isn't it. I didn't track ovulation after the loss but I also didn't use protection when I felt ready again. Funnily enough, when AF appeared, I counted back (my luteal phase is always 14 days) and we had DTD a couple of times during what must have been my fertile window. Obviously nothing came of it and a bit like @DmcinT I chose to see this as my body knowing it wasn't ready to deal with another pregnancy just yet.

DmcinT · 01/06/2023 07:56

@vjb39 I was kinda going with the flow that first cycle but then started testing like a man woman, they are so addictive šŸ˜‚

@Freddie15VES i deff have bloat but think it’s usual around ovulation for me also. I’m having weird palpitations yesterday and today, probably totally unrelated but sure everything for the next 2 weeks will be over analysed now šŸ˜…šŸ™ˆ

Dreamer88 · 01/06/2023 17:55

AF came this afternoon. So back to day 1. New month, fresh start and positive thoughts!

Freddie15VES · 01/06/2023 21:12

@Dreamer88 best way to be! Positive thoughts šŸ™šŸ¼

how are all the bfp ladies doing? @HopeAndStrength @RegardingPersephone xxxxx

Hi guys, hope you don't mind me joining. I've just turned 30 and TTC baby number 1. I came off the pill last July and got pregnant on cycle number 2 but had a chemical. Its not cycle number 11 and I haven't been lucky enough to fall pregnant again. Getting a bit worried so wondered if anyone has a similar story with a happy ending? Sending baby dust to everyone šŸ’– x

Dreamer88 · 02/06/2023 10:42

So I’ve just got my blood test results. Prolactin has come up as abnormal. That’s all I’ve got told by the receptionist and I have to have another blood test within two weeks. Does anybody have any information about what this is? I don’t want to Google and scare myself.

Strawb28 · 02/06/2023 14:05

@Dreamer88 im wondering was it high or low levels. I think high levels can have some impact on fertility but I don't want to scare you in anyway!

Dreamer88 · 02/06/2023 14:13

I’m not sure! I didn’t ask because it was the receptionist so she seemed to think it wasn’t urgent but I had to book more blood tests within the next two weeks. @Strawb28

Strawb28 · 02/06/2023 14:57

I also have a friend who's levels are slightly elevated. It took her slightly longer to conceive but she had her first baby there! Hopefully further tests will explain more for you!

Dreamer88 · 02/06/2023 15:18

@Strawb28 that’s reassuring. Will find out in a couple of weeks anyway. I’m hoping it’s just because I was stressed going in after a little car crash on the way to the doctor. Which might have made some type of stress response.

HopeAndStrength · 02/06/2023 19:39

Welcome @Strawb28

Thanks for checking in @Freddie15VES - super tired this week and a little nauseous, but I'm finding the symptoms reassuring in a weird way

RegardingPersephone · 02/06/2023 23:04

@Freddie15VES thanks for checking in. Still going strong with progression but did have some cramps tonight and got very scared when wiping if there would be blood! Hoping we can get past 6 weeks this time.

DmcinT · 03/06/2023 09:05

@Strawb28 sorry to hear about your loss, hope ur doing ok ā¤ļø What CD are u on now in this cycle?

@Dreamer88 sorry I can’t be of any help with the prolactin but really hoping it’s something that’s an easy fit xx

all the bfp’s you are all giving us hope for this month, hope u are doing well, please do pop in here every so often cause it is nice to hear xx

Strawb28 · 03/06/2023 13:07

Thank you so much @DmcinT im on CD9 now. Getting ready to start LH testing again tomorrow. I had took a couple of months break with lh testing as I was getting early spotting in my period so I started losing weight and being healthy and I've now had 2 very regular periods so I'm feeling hopeful again.
How are you getting on?

HopeAndStrength · 04/06/2023 20:56

Thank you @DmcinT I will keep you all posted. We have decided not to share the news with family/friends for a bit longer this time, just in case.

SnookyPook · 05/06/2023 09:07

6dpo here... Was so determined not to symptom spot etc but then I keep thinking, ooh I'm a bit gassy... Ooh my boobs feel a bit tender... Gargh. Why do we do this to ourselves?! I currently have it in my head that I won't test until a good few days after AF is due if it doesn't appear as part of me wants to minimise the time being anxious if that makes any sense at all..?! However... Haha.

How's everyone else doing? @DmcinT were you at a similar dpo to me? X

DmcinT · 05/06/2023 10:20

Yeah @SnookyPook im 5/6 dpo so the real symptom spotting will prob start now. I haven’t had anything the last 2 days bar a sore lower back but I think that’s from the gymšŸ™ˆ
i have a hen night this Saturday (I’ll be 10/11dpo) so really should test Saturday morning, either way I’ll not really drink just incase but it’s going to be hard to hide it.

what does everyone do about having a drink in the TWW? It’s tricky to know what to do, I’d a glass of wine last night with dinner

SnookyPook · 05/06/2023 10:49

@DmcinT I've had a couple of drinks this last week but I'm stopping now until AF just in case anything is trying to implant over the next couple of days! I'm not a massive drinker anyway but do like a glass of wine every now and then. I think until something has implanted it's not sharing your blood/nutrients etc so hopefully ok. I've heard others say 'drink till it's pink' (I.e. the positive pregnancy test...) šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Freddie15VES · 05/06/2023 11:14

@SnookyPook @DmcinT im a similar DPO to both of you! Trying to work out how many DPO I actually am, my peak ovulation was on the 27th May. So Premom app says I’m 7 DPO. I’ve had cramping every single day, super super bloated and today I do feel queasy…trying to ignore it but it’s all ringing very similar to how I felt in March when we got pregnant before the loss

OP posts:
Dreamer88 · 05/06/2023 11:22

Just thought I’d update about prolactin levels in case anyone else is going through this. So I saw my GP this morning, she said that my prolactin levels were raised and that’s why I’ve got to go for more blood tests. It could be caused by stress and having stress on the day of the blood test could cause prolactin levels to raise. The blood tests will need to be redone in the morning because it all relates to circadian rhythms and hormones and apparently that’s the best time to test prolactin levels. If it’s just a blip, great carry on with life as everything else was normal for conceiving. If it’s not a blip, then I’ll be referred to an endocrinologist who will help bring the levels down to support being able to get pregnancy. These can have long waiting lists but I can’t act until I go for these bloods so that’s what I’m doing.

I did learn that everyone has some degree of prolactin in their bodies but breast feeding women have high amounts as it sends signals to the body not to get pregnant straight away as a baby is being fed so your body knows not to get pregnant again so quickly. The body really is amazing!

Although I can’t lie, I’m extremely anxious! I just want to know now!

SnookyPook · 05/06/2023 11:24

@Freddie15VES ooh everything crossed for you! I feel a bit gassy and slight tender boobs and today just some mild mild cramping. But all at a level I could be almost imagining. Who knows?! Guess we'll know in a week or two!

DmcinT · 05/06/2023 11:25

@SnookyPook yeah I’d have a glass of wine with dinner every so often but haven’t had a reason to drink since prob Christmas, this hen will be the first so I think I’ll just try sit over a drink, accept anything going but just not drink it and hope no1 notices šŸ™ˆ I mean maybe I’ll have a line Saturday morning but realistically it’s prob too early. I had a faint line 12 dpo with my last preg that ended in loss and that was 3 babies so 3 times the hcg, I’d imagine if it was one I’d not test positive for another few days.

yeah @Freddie15VES you were deff a day ahead of me. All good signs for u so far šŸ¤žšŸ½

My main symptom looking back was having to pee with such urgency & tiredness. I was napping on the couch constantly for about a week (something I never do) and I rem 3 stab like pains on the thurs (would have been 9 dpo) that must have been implantation.

SnookyPook · 05/06/2023 11:26

@Dreamer88 that sounds both reassuring and frustrating in equal measure! Can totally relate to just wanting answers now! On the plus side, if it is the reason you've struggled, and it's something they can treat, then fantastic! Just hope you don't have to wait too long for answers! X
