Hi ladies

I thought I’d create this thread if anyone wants to jump on.

I have a little boy who was 2 in April šŸ’–

we decided in March to start trying for baby #2 and we were delighted to get pregnant that same month! Unfortunately we lost the baby at the end of April at 6w 4d

The MC is completed and I have taken an OPK this morning which looks to be really high. Not quite peak but definitely high which is just great that I’m ovulating again! I didn’t know what would happen. We both feel ready to try again this month so will be going for it.

Whether you’re TTC baby #1 #2 #3 etc you’re welcome to jump on ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

@Freddie15VES sorry to hear of your recent loss. I sadly miscarried in august. I know it’s tough.

look after yourself and hoping you get your bfp soon and get have that baby in your arms.

here if want to chat x

WhiteHorse92 · 04/05/2023 13:25

I'll join. I have a very similar story. My little boy turned 2 in March. Decided to try for another baby beginning of the year, conceived first cycle in January but was a chemical, then fell pregnant again third cycle but miscarried at 5w5d. Started trying again straight away and am now in my 2WW.

Freddie15VES · 04/05/2023 16:48

@Farmgirl12 thanks, it is tough. Hope you’re doing okay!

@WhiteHorse92 aw I’m so sorry sounds like a proper rough few months! Good on you for staying positive. How quickly did you get pregnant with your first? Xx

I was so distraught at first but now feel I might as well crack on and I like the idea of another winter baby. Took 6 months to conceive my first but we weren't properly trying, it was more a case of come off the pill and see what happen. Me and my partner were both working full time and different shifts back then so there wasn't a lot of time for baby making, in fact the month I conceived my son I'm sure we only did the deed once šŸ˜…

Dreamer88 · 04/05/2023 17:42

Hi! I’ll join! AF came this afternoon. I don’t have any children. Starting to get concerned that this isn’t happening as we BD throughout fertile period. Makes no sense?!? Wishing everyone good luck this month xx

RegardingPersephone · 04/05/2023 17:46

Hi! I'm TTC #1 and just had a loss at 6w 4d also. Going to epu tomorrow as still spotting and getting very faint lines on pregnancy test so want to confirm when it is complete. Had a private scan yesterday which showed no evidence of pregnancy so think the loss was quite early and has resolved itself or it was ectopic. Hoping for more answers tomorrow.

Will be TTC again asap so hoping for this month and hoping the idea that you're more fertile after a miscarriage is true šŸ¤ž

Freddie15VES · 04/05/2023 22:45

@WhiteHorse92 same, it was the worse weekend of my life (I kept saying to my boyfriend) but now I’m ready to get trying again. Before I had my little boy I had a chemical pregnancy so im just hoping there’s a pattern here with this MC - and the next baby will be a healthy one!

@Dreamer88 hey! Aw don’t get disheartened! How have you tracked things?

@RegardingPersephone welcome! Sorry for your loss. Hoping for good news tomorrow. How long has it been for you? It took me 2 weeks of bleeding with mine so it does take a while 😩😩 good luck this month! Got everything crossed for all of us šŸ™šŸ¼

Is it true you’re more fertile after a loss? I’m not sure how it works but be interesting to know wouldn’t it!

I’ll join inā¤ļø Sorry to read about everyone’s losses. I MC end of March at 11 weeks, we were devastated but have decided to ttc again this month. Fx’d for us all. I’m using cb digital and opks at the min as hard to know where I am in my cycle after MC (anyone else the same?)

Freddie15VES · 05/05/2023 06:42

@DmcinT yep - totally confused by cycle this month (if I even have one!!) had quite strong OPK yesterday but not fully positive. Now today they’re faint. We’re trying this month but I expected it to be all over the place!

are you using any tracking or anything??

OP posts:
Dreamer88 · 05/05/2023 06:45

@Freddie15VES
ive been using ovulation tracker (premom) and the app. Just bought the bbt temperature tracker so that’s more information to add in. I have a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks for something completely unrelated but not sure if I should mention trying ttc? I really don’t understand where we are going wrong.

Freddie15VES · 05/05/2023 06:52

@Dreamer88 how long have you been trying? Xxxx

OP posts:
Dreamer88 · 05/05/2023 07:14

So long story cut short. I had an abortion about 5 years ago for reasons I do not regret. So was very cautious for 12 months because it really wasn’t right for me at the time. Around 3-4 years ago I started to think that I’m ready now and didn’t bother to have any contraception. Never been pregnant since. But we actually started properly trying through tracking etc last year. Doesn’t paint me in the best light I know. As now I’m desperate for a baby. @Freddie15VES

Freddie15VES · 05/05/2023 08:38

@Dreamer88 defo don’t need to justify why you had an abortion girl šŸ’– no judgement here at all. The worst thing you can do is bring a baby into this world if you don’t feel ready - we’ve gotta be the best mamas we can be!!

definitely worth mentioning to the doctor your concerns then if you’ve been trying for a while. How old are you? I hate that age plays a part for us women which is why I’m desperately trying for #2 now cos I’ll be 33 next year xx

Misspotterscat · 05/05/2023 08:43

@Freddie15VES i am in exactly the same position as you. Positive opk yesterday after a loss at 6 weeks towards the end of April. Good luck

Freddie15VES · 05/05/2023 08:48

@Misspotterscat aw yay to being in the same boat but also sorry for your loss - it’s so rough isn’t it!

I don’t really understand OPKS fully, so mine yesterday the test line was a tiny tiny bit fainter than the control line, but today its much fainter. Does that mean it peaked yesterday?! So confusing 🤯🤯🤯

OP posts:
Misspotterscat · 05/05/2023 08:52

@Freddie15VES have you used them before? I find I have a really short peak usually, and if I wasn’t obsessive I probably wouldn’t even see it get dark (I very rarely catch my peak of over 1 on the app and this months peak which I caught is 0.8) although this time mine has stayed darker longer so that’s a change for me.

Dreamer88 · 05/05/2023 08:54

I’m 34! 35 this year!! My periods are very regular though. I’m generally healthy and active otherwise. Definitely feel the clock ticking. How long have you been trying? @Freddie15VES

Freddie15VES · 05/05/2023 10:46

@Misspotterscat we used the clearblue digital one that gives you a solid smile if you’re ovulating so I’m new to the strips. Just got them to see if I was going to ovulate after the miscarriage! Mine were dark yesterday but really light this morning so maybe I peaked then? It’s all so confusing! But then people are saying left over HCG can play havoc with them 🤯

@Dreamer88 since March - we decided to try then for pregnant straight away then obviously lost the baby. Dunno how long it will take now. Start to convince yourself somethings up don’t you

OP posts:
DmcinT · 05/05/2023 11:11

@Freddie15VES i used Cb digital back in Jan when we got pregnant but also got the opk strips after MC to see if they helped me with knowing where I am. I’d no line at all for abt 2 weeks then this week I got a faint line and they got gradually darker but only went up to 0.5 and next day straight back to 0.1 so I don’t know if that means I ovulated? I’m 5 weeks out from MC now and 37 (38 this year) I’m using the pre mom app to test strip levels. CB digital is just giving me flashing faces all week so I’m really none the wiser.

@Dreamer88 do not feel anyway negative towards those difficult decisions you had to make. I would deff mention to your doc when your in.

are you all taking folic acid/ pre pregnancy vitamins etc.. ?

Freddie15VES · 05/05/2023 11:33

@DmcinT oh okay! So on an OPK can you have really faint lines?! I’ll upload mine from yesterday see what you all think!

yeah I’m taking the seven seas folic acid ones! But got loads left over from when I was TTC our little boy!

OP posts:
Freddie15VES · 05/05/2023 11:34

These are mine from yesterday then I took another mid afternoon and it was darker than the bottom one just didn’t take a photo!

@Freddie15VES these are mine from yesterday and this morning. The darkest was about 10pm last night and the next was 8am. This is the usual pattern for me, although I’d normally have a much lighter one the next morning. Not sure if this helps you at all, but you can see my morning one yesterday was quite light.

DmcinT · 05/05/2023 13:10

@Freddie15VES yeah I’ve had really faint lines that get darker. This was my test strips for the last week. wednesday evening is the separate darker one but it only showed 0.5 on the premom app? After this, yesterday morning I tested faint again and showed 0.1 on app

so I don’t know if that means I ovulated yesterday? Anyone any advice?

I think your are deff darker than my faint lines but are the totally dried in that pic? I think they change after 10 mins too

Joining here cd1 of cycle 10. Already feeling exhausted.

Dreamer88 · 05/05/2023 15:51

@Freddie15VES @DmcinT thanks for the kind messages! No, I’m not taking anything as I’m unsure how much of a difference it would make. Any recommendations? Only on CD 2. It’s going to be another long month.

It becomes very formulaic and not very romantic when you’re on your fertile week and feel like you have to perform. Positive thinking and vibes!
