@Marvellouslymadmum @TraceyTarotReader thank you 🙏
I'm not going to spend any more money on OPKs.
I sort of know when my fertile days are...
But with age and cycles now 22/24 ...I think I'm heading into menopause territory.....

I'm blessed to have DD1...which I feel very fortunate that I was able to have her at age 40.
This is me waving bye... 👋
Good luck to each and everyone of you on your journeys TTC.
This is the end of my TTC days at 44.
Xx

Hi All

Bit of a rubbish update from me. I started brown spotting and cramping on Sunday morning, so I called the clinic who said I needed HCG blood tests 2 days apart. Had first test Monday, result Tuesday said levels were 6000 odd. They said that was good for 5 weeks. Tuesday night I had a big red bleed, lasted for a few hours with heavy cramps. Clinic still wanted to test blood on Wednesday even though the bleed seemed pretty conclusive to me. I was expecting the result to confirm game over, but the nurse called to say it’s increased to 8000 something. So HCG hasn’t doubled like they say it should over 48 hours. Nurse said every pregnancy different etc, so I need another blood test tomorrow, results Monday.

So it’s looking pretty bleak for me. Clearly, bleeds and HCG not doubling isn’t good. I just wish I’d been told one way or another today, rather than another bank holiday weekend in limbo. I feel so naive. I know miscarriages are so common. It’s just that I thought the infertility bit was the hard part. Once pregnant, especially with a PGTA tested embryo, I thought it should all be alright 😞

@Rainbows121 I can’t help with any of that as I didn’t have those issues. Were the tests done at a clinic or a kit? If the latter, a good conversation with an expert will be beneficial. I’m sure there’ll be someone along here soon who can help as well.

@catinthesunshine I hear you. I’ve thought the same about freezing eggs a million times. I think there’s a bit more normality and awareness of it now, but 10 years ago it seemed like something only wealthy celebrities did. If only for a Time Machine!

@seashoreone Sending you a hug x

Iusedtobedontcall · 04/05/2023 17:44

@YellowLoafers - I’m sorry to hear that - I will keep crossing my fingers for you. The waiting game is horrid.

Hope you are feeling ok @seashoreone - that sounds like a hard decision to come to.

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/05/2023 19:34

@seashoreone good luck for the future xx

@YellowLoafers I do hope that it is as the nurse said rather than the worst! I know what you mean about mc, I naively thought when I got pg 6 years ago that that was it and we would be having a little one, but no and nothing since which is what confuses me! Keeping everything crossed for you xx

99pctpractice · 04/05/2023 23:04

@YellowLoafers I'm so sorry that you're going through that. I had a massive bleed at nearly 6 weeks, major cramping etc and thought it was game over, but the next day had a scan and it turned out to be a haematoma. Bleeds are more common with ivf pregnancies and your hcg levels sound really high even if they're not doubling, and I think once they get higher then they can take a bit longer to double. Crossing all fingers for you and sending lots of hugs xxx

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 05/05/2023 03:08

@seashoreone wishing you all the best going forward too. XxX

@YellowLoafers sorry to hear things aren't progressing smoothly. Mumsnet is full of people who have had bleeds in early pregnancy yet gone on to have a healthy baby so there's still hope (although I can appreciate the anxiety you must currently be feeling). Even though the HCG number hasn't doubled, it's high and is going up, so going in the right direction. I hope you have good news on Monday xxx

Kelb79 · 05/05/2023 13:15

@YellowLoafers sending you all of my love and crossing everything for you until you get the results ❤️🙏🏼 I completely understand the feeling that it’s all over but definitely don’t give up hope yet. My mum had full regular periods through most of her pregnancy with me - it can happen, especially with IVF pregnancies. HCG going up, even if not double is still a hopeful sign 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 hope you can find a way to relax over the weekend xxxxx ❤️❤️❤️

I feel like time has stopped 🤣🫣 it’ll be 4 weeks until planned transfer date on Monday and I’ve been waiting to hear news about the donor but I found out this week that my clinic doesn’t tell you anything until they get to the day 5/6 results of embryo culture 😳😳
I thought I’d get updates along the way! 🤣
interestingly though it’s made me think a lot about the donor , something I wasn’t very comfortable with before. I feel like I can actually acknowledge her now 🙏🏼❤️😊

Iusedtobedontcall · 05/05/2023 21:29

I’m so excited for you @Kelb79 . Crossing everything for you.

I have had a kir Royale and a red wine which made me cry about my girl. She was called Harriet. DH doesn’t see that she was a person and she existed for me, even if she was just a foetus for him. I wish I’d given birth to her so at least I could have seen her. But I’m ok. It comes in waves. Mostly ok these days.

YellowLoafers · 06/05/2023 07:58

Thanks for your support everyone, it’s been a tough few days so I appreciate you taking the time to reply ❤️ I’m trying to be hopeful, but body seems to like nipping that in the bud by spotting again randomly, sometimes brown sometimes red/pink, so it’s all a bit horrid. I dread going to the loo! I had third blood test yesterday and the nurse I think took pity on me and said she’d see if anyone was around to call me today rather than waiting til Monday. She said no promises though, so I’ll be glued to the phone today as well as Monday! 🙄

@Iusedtobedontcall Harriet is a beautiful name, thank you for sharing with us ❤️ It sounds a cliche when you aren’t in it, but grief really does come in waves and can hit when you least expect it. Sending love.

@Kelb79 Exciting times ahead! Can you select how much you’re told about her, or do you just get a wedge of info when the clinic is ready to share? I can’t wait to follow your journey! x

ab0416 · 06/05/2023 16:30

Hope you don't mind me joining, as technically I'm only 39, but would be 40 by the time I had a baby - if I get that far!

My OH and I are trying to conceive #1 and we have no other children between us. We started trying in the new year and managed to get pregnant immediately, which was a big shock with me being 39 and him 44! But, it wasn't meant to be and I lost the baby at 9 weeks last month. I'm now just waiting for my af to return so we can try again - the wait is not fun. Really hoping we're able to conceive as quickly again because of my age, but I've read that it can sometimes take a long while to conceive after a miscarriage, but I guess everyone is different.

Anyway, thank you for letting me join in, and I am sending all the positive vibes for BFP and sticky beans to you all ☺️

MattieandmummyandIs · 06/05/2023 20:33

@YellowLoafers just thought I would pop in to give you a positive story of someone who bled a lot during my second pregnancy. Right up until I think around 28 weeks. It was ok in the end and baby stayed in and alive so don't give up just yet. Plus as someone else said when your HCG levels get to a certain point they do actually stop doubling so quickly. Fingers crossed for you x

YellowLoafers · 07/05/2023 10:44

Update from me, the nurse kindly called me yesterday which was so nice. The clinic have been great, I can’t fault them. My levels have risen “nicely” to 14000, which she says is where they’d expect them to be. So it looks to confirm your advice to me @99pctpractice about the levels taking longer to double. I’m hoping I’ll be like you and @MattieandmummyandIs being one who bled but actually all OK in the end 🤞🙏

The nurse said they can’t guarantee that the numbers increasing means that all is well with the pregnancy. So they’ve confirmed my viability scan has been brought forward to Wednesday coming when I should be just 7 weeks. More waiting, but I feel like there’s some hope now 🙏 The on off cramps and brown spotting carries on though and the constant worry is wearing me down. I just have to stay positive.

Welcome 👋 @ab0146 I’m so sorry for your loss and fingers tightly crossed for you going forward 🤞🤞

ab0416 · 07/05/2023 10:46

Thanks @YellowLoafers Good luck with your scan on Wednesday, hope it all goes well ☺️ x

October1979 · 07/05/2023 10:49

@YellowLoafers that is great news. I also bled badly. I had a number of gushes - (red blood running down my legs - sorry tmi) in the first trimester started at about 7 weeks. Turned out it was a haematoma which resolved itself after 6 weeks and that was my triplet pregnancy and all was fine. Apparently it's common in IVF xxx

Iusedtobedontcall · 07/05/2023 20:25

That’s really good news @YellowLoafers . I hope all goes well with the scan.

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 07/05/2023 21:05

So pleased to hear your update @YellowLoafers as I have been thinking about you. Really hoping it's such good news on Wednesday too.

My update is that my cheapie poas have been getting stronger and I'm now intermittently queasy like I was with my daughter. Going to make it official on Tuesday and register with a midwife as I'll be 6 weeks and 4 days.

@ab0416 welcome, and sorry for your recent loss. You still have time at 39. I conceived my daughter age 41 after a year of trying to conceive and one chemical pregnancy. She's 15 months now and I'm pregnant age 43 after 5 months of trying. It's still very early days but is encouraging. I hope it's not too long until you conceive again xx

Kelb79 · 07/05/2023 21:10

ooooooo @YellowLoafers thank god!! I’m so so pleased!! ❤️❤️❤️ I know nothing is ever guaranteed but knowing that things are on track is epic!! I hope you can relax just a little bit with that news. Not long until the scan 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

@Iusedtobedontcall sending you so much love ❤️❤️❤️ grief can knock us sideways right out of the blue!! It’s ok not to be ok, be kind to yourself, and let yourself cry 🙏🏼 it’s catharsis. You’ve been through so so much xxxxx

@October1979 how’s the gang? 😁 I’m guessing it must be pretty exhausting but so damn amazing!!!!!

@ab0416 welcome ❤️ and I’m so sorry for what you’ve been through 🙏🏼 it’s the worst! Sending love ❤️ and know that we’re all here any time you need us xX

So I started downregging for my transfer cycle today!!! Eeekk!!
Taking Synarel so we’ll see how that goes!! I’m not looking forward to the emotional rollercoaster but im sooo excited to get started!!! 🫣🫣🫣

99pctpractice · 08/05/2023 10:40

@YellowLoafers that's great news!!! All fingers crossed for your scan on Weds as well!

@Littlemiss42andfabulous tentative congratulations to you too - really positive that it's progressing and you're starting to get symptoms! So pleased for you.

@ab0416 so sorry to hear about your loss and hoping that you don't have too long to wait before another bfp!

@Iusedtobedontcall sending lots of hugs. I think the whole experience can be so different for partners because they are totally removed from the physical side of things, which makes it harder for them to have the same emotional connection. Thinking of you and Harriet xxx

@Kelb79 exciting!!!! When is your transfer expected to be? Is it in the UK? Hope the medication isn't too emotionally frazzling!!!

Marvellouslymadmum · 08/05/2023 12:48

@Kelb79 oh I think that would drive me crazy having to wait all that time!!
Excited for you now!

@Iusedtobedontcall I don't think many men get how real it is for us rather than them, Harriet will always be in your thoughts ❤️

@ab0416 hi and welcome, so sorry to hear of your loss. Some people get pregnant again quickly after mc, unfortunately it didn't happen for me but I stupidly followed the docs advice and went back in the pill for a few months after and wish I hadn't!

@YellowLoafers I'm so glad your hcg has increased a lot! 🤞🏻 everything is all good for you, everything crossed for your scan!

@October1979 hope everything's well with you and the little ones!

My body is playing games with me, AGAIN!! Last cycle was 38 days long then a light (not normal) but still painful (as normal) af now I started af again yesterday but again very light and this time no pain so this cycle was only 18 days 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know when I have a long cycle I sometimes get a shorter one next but this light af and now no pain has me worried about the perimenopause! I haven't been taking all my vits for ages though with all the moving stress and will start again this month, maybe that'll help and if it is peri I can still do de ivf anyway so I know I'm not out totally ever which is a comfort

Kelb79 · 08/05/2023 17:55

Hey lovelies…
Have any of you taken Synarel at any point?
ive been fighting off a head cold all week, felt a bit rough but managed to function! 🤣
Started taking Synarel yesterday and have been completely floored today!! Migraine, nausea, exhausted, achey and just want to cry! I know it supposed to be essentially putting me into menopause and I expected a few side effects but it’s totally knocking me for six! Or is it the head cold?? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

YellowLoafers · 08/05/2023 21:14

@Kelb79 I had Menopur for my downreg so no Synarel intel for you, but hope you feel better soon ❤️

October1979 · 08/05/2023 22:42

@Kelb79 the gang are amazing we all came home last week. Even when they are all crying in unison at 4am I feel like the luckiest person in the world. Keeping everything crossed for you on your journey. You'll feel like this soon xxxx

Hi all. Despite me and husband having quite a bit of sex, the actual day of ovulation didn’t work out (think he got too stressed) and now at 9DPO I’ve had a very negative test so I’m out.

I’m not going to track now as it clearly stresses DH out and I don’t want to get obsessed. I would love my little boy to have a sibling, really would but I don’t want to become so obsessed with it that I’m missing out on him.

Hard to not feel despondent, I’m not sure it’s going to happen for us 😩
