@Mrsspoon3 our sons definitely sound the same 😂 My partner says he definitely has always known he wants 2 kids. He was however a bit reluctant to start trying and we had a laugh in here when he had a wobble the first month of ttc when it seemed to suprise him that the unprotected sex (which he was fully aware he was having btw!) might result in a baby ! 😂
I know he will be the kind of person who will occasionally freak out about a second when I am pregnant, especially when we inevitably go through some tough days with our son. I shall just have to try my best to not join in with that and reassure him.
I hope your other half is now fully on board and excited about ttc your 2nd 👍🏻

TrudyProud · 24/04/2023 08:16

@Mrsspoon3 I'm 7DPO today (I think - didn't track ovulation this cycle but my cycles have been the same as pre pregnancy since they returned at 6months PP so am using my ovulation cycle when I conceived DD as my benchmark).

Yesterday my vivid dreams returned (same symptom with DD but at 5 DPO) so with that, the tiredness and feeling like I'm about to wee myself I'm really hoping this is a sign of an impending BFP.

LeopardLover · 24/04/2023 08:29

@Eirlys1986 @Mrsspoon3 Proud (tired) member of the strong willed boys' club 😅 Also the same age (37) but my son is almost 2! He's still in our room so we use the spare room for fun activities haha. We're hoping to sort his room soon, we haven't bothered because he shows no signs of being happy to leave. He asks for me during the night and joins us in bed sometimes.

We're taking a casual approach to TTC for a couple of months which actually feels really nice. Then we'll be on those expensive CB OPKs come June. Maybe you ladies can teach me how to use the cheapos if needed! I found the CB one lasted me months when TTC my son.

I should look into Proceive Max, all the other vitamins cost lots when combined.

@TrudyProud Fingers crossed this is the cycle and that's the same sign as last time!

LeopardLover · 24/04/2023 08:37

@Muriel84 My cycles fluctuate but right now my FW ends just before Glastonbury! So fingers crossed. Although I won't be drinking at all if that's the case ha ha. Awww, it's so hard isn't it. We left DS at Glastonbury (first time ever) & then for 2 days another time. We missed him terribly though! He was okay, went to bed at 10pm and asked for us a lot. Hopefully if you want to leave LO it'll go better next time! It's definitely good to look forward to things 🥰 and actually I'm not too bothered if it takes 6 months TTC so I can get fit first ha ha. I'm prepared for it to take 2 years but hopefully not!

Muriel84 · 24/04/2023 10:16

Aww my son is just over 2 and I’m 38. He’s pretty chilled tho! Did have a very toddler moment over wearing socks this morning. Not sleeping well the last week. I would’ve liked to have started trying for number 2 sooner, probably a year ago. But wasn’t entirely my decision obviously!

@LeopardLover i need your attitude! Sounds a lot healthier than my nutty impatience! I seem to think as it’s not happening instantly it won’t happen at all, well the irrational side of me anyway.

@TrudyProud that sounds promising! 🤞🤞

CD3 here and downed my first proceive this morning 🤢 fun fun! X

Eirlys1986 · 23/04/2023 19:13

@Mrsspoon3 sperm meets egg plan!

https://fertile.com/sperm-meets-egg-method/

basically far too much sex for tired people to manage 😆

🤣

Plus you're in the same boat as me, with living with family right now! That's much more off putting to me than my son 😅

I'm CD 10 now and just got ewcm - earlier than normal I think and I'm thinking do I have to start now?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/04/2023 11:59

Actually scrap that, I had 7 days of ewcm last month, so maybe that's my new normal

Eirlys1986 · 24/04/2023 12:21

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 😂 you are spot on with the relatives in the house being off putting. We are meant to start smepping(haha) this evening but I have to say I’m not really feeling it with my nearly 80 year old mother recuperating on the sofa driving us mad watching endless episodes of bargain hunt. 😂
I will have to get a nice lavender bath on and some candles prior to bed to erase the image of David Dickinson from my mind…..then toddler will inevitably start crying at an inappropriate moment 😆 wish me luck!

LeopardLover · 24/04/2023 12:34

@Eirlys1986 I have lots of respect for you SMEP crew 🤣 I think I could handle it but no way my DH could. He was exhausted last time when we were DTD all the time during my fertile week haha.

Fingers crossed your son sleeps through and the bath works a treat. We've found no naps in the day works best for us but our son has very low sleep needs!

Angelsrose · 24/04/2023 15:33

AF has arrived sadly. I was willing it not to arrive this month. We've been trying for 3 months and it already feels like a long time. TTC no. 1. Any tips gratefully received! So far I've read about proconceive max and grapefruit juice.

TheFanciestPants · 24/04/2023 16:06

Feeling a bit on edge today. So, I had a gynae appointment in October where they did the classic blood tests and trans vaginal ultrasound. Everything came back normal. They said to come back after 6 months if I wasn't pregnant. I lost a baby at 7 weeks in Feb...
What do you think they will suggest? Just to keep trying or are there other tests that can be done?

TheFanciestPants · 24/04/2023 16:08

@Angelsrose I have heard good things about pomegranate juice, I can't have grapefruit so I have this instead. Not sure if it works but the month I drank it every day (and basically did SMEP) I got pregnant 🤔

Mrsspoon3 · 24/04/2023 16:13

Oh @Eirlys1986 and @LeopardLover, I’m so glad to know there are others out there! Everywhere I go I see all these placid chilled out babies and toddlers and I’m like, what am I doing wrong?! 😂 Reassuring it’s not just me trying to navigate all this with a toddler still sleeping in my room too 😂

Ooh that sounds promising @TrudyProud!! Got everything crossed for you! Are you going to test or wait until AF is due?

Ah sorry to hear AF has arrived @Angelsrose 😢 3 months does feel a long time when you’re trying! I don’t know if they’re tips as I have no idea what actually worked, but when I got pregnant last time the things we did differently was I started taking ubiquinol, drinking grapefruit juice (which you’ve already heard about), and using preseed. My husband also started taking a supplement. Oh and I did some relaxation classes and had a massage during my fertile week to try and lower my stress levels haha. But no idea if any of them actually helped!

Mrsspoon3 · 24/04/2023 16:15

Has anyone who is ttc number 2 found that their cycles were a bit more irregular after giving birth, or is that just me? I had my baby 13 months ago and got my first period after having him after just 2 months, so they’ve had a while to settle down, but I’m still having some cycles that are 33 days and some anywhere up to 49 days 🙈

Mrsspoon3 · 24/04/2023 16:18

@TheFanciestPants When I was trying first time I researched all the different tests to death and chatted to people on forums as I was convinced I wouldn’t get pregnant, and I think after the blood tests and ultrasound they sometimes offer a test where they insert a dye to check for blockages in the fallopian tubes, but I don’t know if you’d need this if you’ve been pregnant before. They also offer a semen analysis test for your partner if this hasn’t been done already. I don’t know if this is what will be offered, this just seems to be a common pathway from what I’ve read. Really sorry to hear about your loss

AgeGapBbe · 24/04/2023 16:35

Fuck it, I’ve gone and bought an Apple Watch. It can’t make this erratic cycles situation any worse!

TheFanciestPants · 24/04/2023 16:44

Thanks @Mrsspoon3 I appreciate it.
I am going through my private health insurance to confirm there are no issues. So not sure how it will be different! I have a normal GP appointment on Thursday too to start on the NHS side of things as we have been trying since July/August, although I don't know if time resets from our miscarriage date or not?! We figured all we can do is ask.

TheFanciestPants · 24/04/2023 16:50

@AgeGapBbe is that for the temp/hr functionality?

Un7breakable · 24/04/2023 16:50

@TheFanciestPants can I ask why you were referred? I've got a GP appointment tomorrow, hoping they'll refer me to gyne.

@Angelsrose we're at similar points. Its tough isn't it. It's like there was sperm and an egg why am I not pregnant! Not helped by the fact I've just found out spotting throughout your cycle can make it harder to conceive 😩 hopefully this will be both our months for a BFP.

Angelsrose · 24/04/2023 16:55

Thanks everyone for the support and advice. I will take it on board and appreciate the time you have all taken to reply to me!

TheFanciestPants · 24/04/2023 16:56

@Un7breakable yeah for irregular spotting and an anovulatery cycle in September (we don't know if it was early mc or endurance sport or Covid), I have private medical insurance so I just needed a GP to refer me. The results were all fine and it got better but then I had it the month I conceived and then last month I had a tiny bit of spotting around 8dpo too. It stopped both times and this time AF arrived 4 days later (i emailed ovusense and I am 90%sure the ovulation date last month was wrong so have also bought opks for this month). No idea what the issue is but I have been keeping a log and the gynae said to come back if it doesn't improve within 6 months, my health insurance were difficult as said it expired but I had a virtual GP appointment today who has re referred me. So keeping my fingers crossed.

Muriel84 · 24/04/2023 17:39

@Eirlys1986 😂yeah that does sound like a mood killer! If I get the image of David Dickinson in my head the next time we dtd I’ll blame you!

@Mrsspoon3 my periods are v regular but way heavier since having my first. And now I’m ttc I have weird spotting start up around 10dpo. Still breastfeeding once a day tho. Everything feels v different at 38 Vs when I was 35

@Angelsrose I’m on CD3 about to start cycle 3. This month we will SMEP again, I’m going to drink grapefruit juice and taking proceive max. The last two are new. Might fully stop BF too. Will definitely stop next month if we don’t catch this month. X

TrudyProud · 24/04/2023 17:44

@Mrsspoon3 I'm not sure. DH is at a stag thud weekend so I either will test before he leaves on Friday on on Monday morning once he's back. Last time I tested at 14DPO which would be Monday.

I do kinda want to know asap but because I'm not 💯 confident in my ovulation date think I might be better off waiting till AF is due. So confused tbh. I thought it would be easier 2nd time around but I'm even more stressed as this time I'm adding breastfeeding a 12month old to the mix .

LeopardLover · 24/04/2023 18:07

@Mrsspoon3 Mine are slightly more irregular but between 28-32 days. Although when my period first returned it was all over the place.

Does anyone know the difference between the easy@home strips on Amazon? I see a few different LH options and have no idea 😅
