@Mummyme87 impressive 😂, it’s understandable though, I mean I’ve done 3 today just to try to allay my anxiety and I’m not even sure it’s achieved that tbh.

Mirla · 12/05/2023 23:08

@Muriel84 A single spot? I'm envious 😂 I wouldn't have minded growing out of having acne, haha. Well, I'm cautiously hopeful now that it could be implantation... maybe...!

I guess if implantation only just happened then probably tests tomorrow would be negative still?

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 06:26

Morning @Mirla , it should typically take around 48 hours to appear positive post implantation.
Well my test remained equally faint last night and this morning looks a bit fainter to my eye which is a bit major league sucky. The problem with early testing and neurotic line comparing! I will maybe do an afternoon one today as that was the darkest yesterday but otherwise will just have to wait over next few days and see what happens but I’m feeling now like it’s not looking so good. Feeling a bit disappointed ☹️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/05/2023 06:41

@Muriel84 just seen your news, congrats!! That's brilliant news.

@Eirlys1986 hope it's okay. It's so tricky with the lines early on when hcg is doubling but so low. If you can, maybe wait til tomorrow morning and compare that to yesterday morning as it should be clearer x

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 06:42

Thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I know you are correct. To be honest I should likely wait a few days or just see if AF arrives. It’s difficult once you psych yourself out about something like this as you then just want a “better” test to make you feel less anxious 😬

Muriel84 · 13/05/2023 06:51

@Eirlys1986 one thing I’ve learnt from trawling these forums is day to day comparisons of the strength of the line on these tests isn’t at all helpful! So I wouldn’t read much into that at all. If you’re still seeing a faint line, it’s there.

@Mirla yup a single spot! 😂 quite a small one at that. You’ve reminded me I broke out in seborrheic warts all over my back last pregnancy tho which a sympathetic dermatologist froze off! Oh the joys. They itched like mad!

Wide awake during the night for hours. Eughhhhh. I used to just get up when I was pregnant with DS and watch escape to the country to empty my mind. Quite crampy in the night too still mainly on the left.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you x

LeopardLover · 13/05/2023 06:58

@Eirlys1986 Morning!! Sorry you're feeling a bit meh due to your test this morning - it might not mean anything at all! A line is definitely a line. @muriel84 gave great advice, daily comparisons can cause so much stress. Maybe just wait until tomorrow if you can. Sending much love! X

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 07:00

Thanks so much @Muriel84 and @LeopardLover , I know you are both correct. I shall try my best to hold out till tomorrow if I can 👍🏻.
@Muriel84 I also broke out in loads of weird little warty bits and bobs in pregnancy! Most have faded but some have remained but all on boobs for some reason 🙄 😂

Mummyme87 · 13/05/2023 07:26

@Eirlys1986 sorry you didn’t get the confidence boost this morning with your test. It’s hard not to compare. I have found my FMU wasn’t producing the darkest of tests, often vitamin related so I found out. What colour is your urine with FMU? Mine was neon yellow with the vitamin B and that stops tests from picking up HCG

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 07:36

@Mummyme87 it was pretty yellow, I was unsure last night if I had had my proceive or not so drank one quite late at night so possibly had two yesterday 🙈. Perhaps this is all it is- very early pregnancy plus neon vitamin pee. I shall take some comfort from that whilst not getting my hopes up too much 👍🏻 xx

Mummyme87 · 13/05/2023 07:47

@Eirlys1986 I have hope for you lovely. I think it’s biotin that causes the colour and can reduce HCG in urine. I got a really low couple of tests in between dark 2nd morning urine/afternoon/evening tests and worked out why.

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 07:54

Thanks @Mummyme87 , maybe I just need to take a few days break from testing at all really and then either nature shall take its course and AF will appear or hopefully I’ll have a stronger positive in a few days. Time for major distraction activities in the meantime…not helped by OH going to work today and also going to football with his friend tomorrow so I’ve got a lot of me and toddler time this weekend

Mrsspoon3 · 13/05/2023 08:59

Thanks so much for the advice @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @TheBirdintheCave @TrudyProud @Muriel84! I’ve decided to have a drink tonight as I’m 99% sure I’m not pregnant, and as some of you have said it probably wouldn’t get to baby at this point anyway 😊

Ooh congratulations @Eirlys1986 and @Muriel84! So exciting! I totally understand the nerves though, I was exactly the same last time when I was pregnant and worried it would end early. Hopefully it will all go well and progress well for you both though 🙏

Mrsspoon3 · 13/05/2023 09:04

Does anyone else track their bbt? I’m feeling a bit sad and worried by mine. FF have noted I’ve ovulated now but I’m not convinced. And if I have I’m worried why my temperatures are so low and if it means my progesterone levels are low? Is it 6 months you have to wait to get your bloods checked over 35?
I’ve attached a picture of my chart if it means anything to anyone, and also my chart from when I was pregnant last time for comparison. My temps are barely over the cover line this time!

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 09:14

@Mrsspoon3 its 6 months of ttc >35 before a referral to fertility clinic can be done and the bloods including a day 21 progesterone level are a part of that. However, depending on your GP they may be happy to do bloods for you prior to that if you explain to them you are totally understanding you can’t have a referral prior to 6 months but would like the bloods as a reassurance at this point

Mrsspoon3 · 13/05/2023 09:52

Thanks @Eirlys1986! I might check and see if I can just have some bloods done.
Im just feeling a bit disheartened. When I started ttc last time I went into it with money already saved up for fertility tests (as I didn’t think I had time to wait for the nhs), and having already extensively researched and thought about both IVF and adoption, as I was convinced I’d never be able to get pregnant as so didn’t start my periods until I was 20 and they were really irregular for years and years after that. So I was really amazed when I got pregnant after 6 months and had my little boy! So I think this time I went into it a lot more hopeful as I knew I could get pregnant and carry a baby to term, and now I don’t even think my body is working properly anymore!

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 09:57

@Mrsspoon3 its totally understandable to worry about ability to get pregnant/maintain a pregnancy the older we get. I am definitely more anxious and mistrusting of my body this time round. Naughty of me to say as a GP but perhaps just tell the GP you’ve been trying 6 months so would like to get the tests done and then depending on test outcome then decide with OH whether you wish to pursue ivf or not? That way you get the tests without an argument and also have an easy way to back out of a referral if you want to, plus if they did find anything amiss you can then just get referred. Don’t tell anyone I said that! 🫢 😆

Mrsspoon3 · 13/05/2023 10:04

Haha thanks @Eirlys1986! I might try that 😊 I won’t tell anyone it came from a GP 😂🤫
I definitely wouldn’t be able to get IVF. My husband really doesn’t want another baby. He’s only agreed to try because I want it so much and because he thinks it would be good for our little boy to have a sibling, but he’s made it clear that if it gets too hard (having to have loads of tests/trying for ages/several losses) he’s out. Blood tests would probably be ok but don’t think I can go any further than that. So really need my body to just sort itself out really haha 🙈 Otherwise that’s it for me I guess, no more babies.

Mrsspoon3 · 13/05/2023 10:06

Also not sure how great my GP is. I went for the first time yesterday (as we moved here just over a year ago) and the GP gave me a spray for my ear as he said I have an infection. I noticed on the leaflet it said it’s not advised for pregnancy or if you think you might be pregnant, so I phoned for advice and they told me to do a pregnancy test and use it if it’s negative, and not to if it’s positive. I said it was too early to test and they said “Well, that’s all I can advise” 🤦🏼‍♀️

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 10:07

Ah sorry to hear that @Mrsspoon3 , it’s so tricky when the OH isn’t fully on board. I imagine once you do hopefully get pregnant he will feel very differently about it. If he’s registered at your GP you will just have to play along with saying you will get him a sperm analysis too as they always want that doing. If it’s anything like locally here the men just ring a phone line to self refer for that and it isn’t anything the Gp actually does so hopefully you can just side step that one and get your tests done 👍🏻

Mrsspoon3 · 13/05/2023 10:13

@Eirlys1986 Thanks, yeah I know that he’ll love them if/when they’re here as he loves our little boy so much, but he can’t get on board with the theoretical baby! Great, I’m sure he won’t agree to any tests 🤦🏼‍♀️ but will say he will and give him the option!
Have you done any more tests today?

Eirlys1986 · 13/05/2023 10:20

@Mrsspoon3 just the very faint one this morning. Debating whether to do another after lunch when my toddler has gone for a nap or just leave it till tomorrow. I know I should leave till tomorrow, it’s difficult though especially with my prior POAS addiction at the best of times 😂

Mummyme87 · 13/05/2023 10:29

@Eirlys1986 the sensible would wait for 48hours, or even 24hrs but ya know we are all POAS addicts!!!!

Mrsspoon3 · 13/05/2023 10:33

@Eirlys1986 Yep totally understand that addiction 😂 I definitely wouldn’t be able to wait haha

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/05/2023 10:33

@Mrsspoon3 I don't bbt now but I did previously for 2-3 cycles to figure out what was what there. I think your temps look fine, I honestly wouldn't worry if that was my chart. If you look at your average pre ov (taking out that weird random spike) and then look at your post ov, they're a decent 0.3 above. I wouldn't think that shows low progesterone.

Honestly if it's been less than six months, I'd probably wait and just keep trying. I get the fear totally (I have it myself) but just trust your body and six months of trying is totally normal also. Especially with the stress and less sleep and constant illness having a little one puts our bodies under also!

Go and enjoy tonight!
