Ahh, it's nice to know slings really can be good, thanks for the replies! Feeling impatient to get to use one now, hah.

TickingTui · 09/05/2023 00:47

Sorry for the late reply and thanks so much for all the kind support - I needed it! Sadly, AF has just hit like a bloody freight train. So ho-hum, CD1!

@Eirlys1986 - thanks so much. I really held out hope to the last min. but wasn't to be.. I will be on to proceive max ASAP! Can you take it while BF?

@TheFanciestPants - Thanks for that and also love you're a statistician! I've read up so many things and you're right! There is just no data for so much... I don't know if maybe an egg was fertilised, but didn't embed - or perhaps halving my BF stretched my LP back to my pre-DS 32-cycle? No idea! If you have any good studies/resources, please let me know!

@LeopardLover - Oh wow 18DPO! Thanks for that share - it'll be good to know for next time...!

@VixFromThe6ix it supposed to increase libido, balance out hormones… lower FSH (lower FSH increases chance of pregnancy), increase progesterone. It’s good for increasing sperm quality also if men take it. I was worried about progesterone, which is why I took it. If you get lots of spotting leading up to AF or short LP, probably would be good as that can be a sign of low progesterone

Muriel84 · 09/05/2023 06:44

We don’t have room for a double buggy. I’m hoping my LO will take to a buggy board. He does like his buggy tho… also used a sling a lot. Went a bit mad. Think I have 4/5 of them and also went to a sling library. Loved the stretchy wrap one most when he was small. He was born v small tho quickly caught up. We don’t have a lift at my local train station and I’ve never been one of those mums who just throws the buggy on their hip and trots up the stairs, especially with my issues following his birth. I remember when he was small he’d sleep in the sling the whole way to my parents a couple of hours away on the train. Dreamy.

@TrudyProud the Elizabeth line is in my sons top 3 lines!

@Eirlys1986 yeah I think poas early last month helped me manage my disappointment.

I’ve woken with a stuffy nose and scratchy throat today. Very unusual for me. DS isn’t stuffy and I rarely pick up what he has anyway. Trying not to read too much into it 😬😳

Mummyme87 · 09/05/2023 07:09

Just found out that some supplements that turn your urine bright yellow (vitamin b) can stop the test line appearing on pregnancy tests. Makes sense as why my FMU doesn’t give me as strong lines

Clairey332 · 09/05/2023 07:27

We use our sling all the time! Gets us through a lot of the day when we are in and out of the house, food shopping and walking the dogs. We’ve got a Bjorn maxi, should lay until my 10 month old is 21lbs. She’s only around 18lbs at the moment.

@TrudyProud aawww so really early days then. So exciting. Do you suffer with morning sickness? I suffer terribly with nausea in the first few months. I found constantly eating small snacks helped me through it. Do you think you will have an early scan?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Really! Wow. I take Zita West Omega 3 capsules. Thank god they were honest and seem to know their stuff!

We are not actively TTC just yet, we have just made the decision that we would like to try. We are going on holiday for 10 nights at the end of June so i am terrified that if we happened to conceive in our first few months and there was a problem with the pregnancy we would be in a really bad situation being abroad.

I am going to be starting my OPT in a few days to try and see what’s going on with my cycles since I last had a proper period in October 2021!! Thing is, I don’t really need them as I have always have been able to feel ovulation, when the egg breaks through the follicle wall but I love all the science build up to it so I am just going to POAS anyway 😂😂😂

One of the the many things I’m worried about is having such a small age gap! I have huge gaps between my children. I worry it will be so overwhelming and I won’t cope! 😬 My little girl is so clingy at the moment, teething and generally a mummy’s girl. We Co sleep too so how will that work with a new baby?! All these things to think about! X

39starstartry · 09/05/2023 07:52

Thought it might have worked as my boobs were aching like mad then got a headache last night which I get when period is due so tested this morning one day early and it was very much negative so think aunt flow is about to arrive. Does anyone else get this awful premenstrual headaches? I've def noticed them get worse since having my child. Will just have to keep trying!

TrudyProud · 09/05/2023 08:30

@Muriel84 my biggest sadness is we've now moved so don't need the Lizzie line anymore.

@Clairey332 no nausea over here . I never had any with DD either so not expecting any. I'm hoping I'll be as active throughout pregnancy as I was with dd - I was running, weights and Pilates into my 3rd trimester.

Yes, I think I will end of May as will be 7/8 weeks though honestly feel less anxious this time around as thankfully I have lovely experiences of TTC and pregnancy.

Mrsspoon3 · 09/05/2023 08:49

Hello and welcome to the new ladies! 😊

Hope everyone had a good bank holiday!

Been trying to catch up and just want to join in on the sling/pram convos just to say how much I love my carrier haha. I’ve been using it almost exclusively to take my boy out and about since he was about 7 months and I just find it so much easier than the pushchair/pram (I don’t drive so walk and get buses everywhere) and I lose over a stone of my baby weight when I started walking about everywhere with him in it. He’s only 19 pounds at 14 months so hoping he’ll use it for a while longer, but he’s already started protesting and just wanting to walk everywhere!! Also will probably get a carrier with no waistband if I’m lucky enough to get pregnant again.

Also, think Im out this month already as don’t think I ovulated! 😢 I got one flashy smiley on the clearblue digital on Saturday then the static smiley on Sunday. We dtd Saturday and Monday as couldn’t manage Sunday. My bbt rose significantly yesterday so thought I’d ovulated Sunday, but it’s gone back down today, so guess I didn’t actually ovulate! So sad and frustrated as I’ve never had an anovulatory cycle before since I’ve been tracking, so worried it’s my old body winding down!!

Clairey332 · 09/05/2023 08:58

@TrudyProud you are very lucky to not suffer with MS then! You can enjoy every minute then! Funny you should say about the amount of exercise you were doing in your pregnancy! I was going to start weight training this week and some light cardio but read doing any strenuous exercising can lower your chances of getting pregnant?! So much conflicting advice! X

Mrsspoon3 · 09/05/2023 09:00

@Mirla Also meant to say you definitely can use just a sling if that’s what you want to do 😊 Granted my little boy is quite light, but still significantly heavier than a newborn and I don’t find it difficult at all with his weight. I’ve not used a sling, just a structured carrier, but if you have it tied right at the waist that should take all the weight. I also have a backpack changing bag which really helps keep me centred so I have weight on both back and front haha, and it’s great for carrying all the stuff you’d normally put in/on the pram.

Muriel84 · 09/05/2023 09:07

@TickingTui this is the response I got about BF with proceive max when I emailed. So I take it in the morning and BF 12 hours later just once so I reckon it’s fine for me. And they’re basically saying it’s fine, there’s just no studies. so sorry your AF has hit. Be kind to yourself today! X

2023 TTC 35+ Part 2
LeopardLover · 09/05/2023 09:09

@Muriel84 Ah yes, it's all about getting the right sling! I think I had 6 in the end. My fave was the ergobaby 360 but I got that a little too late as I had a 95th percentile kid! 😅 Sling libraries were closed when I had my son so I never got a chance to experiment first. I have the artipoppe which I LOVE the look off but it's not as supportive. I'm hoping I'll do more slinging next time as I really enjoyed being so close when my son was little. Agree about balancing the weight with a backpack!

LeopardLover · 09/05/2023 09:13

@TickingTui Ah, sorry you're also onto the next cycle! CD5 over here. This could be THE one.

I tend to have a really light final day of my period - barely anything. Does this still count as a day of AF? I feel like I've read this elsewhere that only days of full flow should count but I can't remember!

@Clairey332 I also want to pick up weight training again. Time to get my weights out of the garage I think! I'll just limit it during my TWW. It's totally fine if you don't go OTT!

LeopardLover · 09/05/2023 09:18

@emmatcc1 I agree with @VixFromThe6ix - testing from day 8! I normally test from CD 10 when I was ovulating on CD14 but think I'll start from CD9 this time.

emmatcc1 · 09/05/2023 09:44

@LeopardLover I count all days of any kind of bleeding as af. Mine starts with spotting and I get a full flow later in the day, day2 it’s full flow, day3 light and then I spot for 2 more days.

emmatcc1 · 09/05/2023 09:46

I’m picking up test later today and I’ll do one to se how it looks. Probably gonna do a lot of them this cycle to get a hang of it for future.

TrudyProud · 09/05/2023 09:50

@Clairey332 with me I was already active. I remember my midwife saying just listen to your body! They won't recommend you start strenuous exercise if you've not before as your RHR is already higher in early pregnancy however because I've always been fit though my RHR was higher than normal it was still lower than a lot of non pregnant women.
I'm certainly not as fit as I was as was waiting till I could be away from dd for hrs at a time to return to the gym and fitness so only been working out the past 3/4 months but I'm happy to continue running and doing light weights plus Pilates.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/05/2023 10:00

@TickingTui sorry your period has arrived. Be kind to yourself today.

I think mine is coming too, I have the worst period cramps and backache I've had since I can remember and I'm guessing it's due tomorrow. I don't know if the vitamins could have caused this.

@Mrsspoon3 hopefully you will just ovulate later on the cycle. Sounds like maybe your body geared up to but didn't for some reason? Have you been ill or breastfeeding more than usual? I ovulated a week or so after normal when this happened for me. Maybe keep testing with some cheapie strips.

@Mirla another vote for the ergo baby 360 - can be used from 7lb to age 3. We lived in London and have a dog, so used it heaps! Also the Yoyo, it only weighs 6kg, so often lugged that up and down tube steps. It also folds under the airplane seat in front of you, so is really good for travelling. Still use the sling a lot now at 15 months, and he's over 11kg

Eirlys1986 · 09/05/2023 11:06

@Muriel84 thanks for the info re:proceive max and breastfeeding. Interesting response, I personally cannot see why amino acids would affect my little one via breastmilk but I understand why they have to cover themselves and I will continue to take.
@Mummyme87 interesting about the yellow pee vitamins and testing ! Thanks
And in other news my junior colleague has just come to announce she is 9 weeks pregnant and feeling really poorly…sad she is feeling awful but have also got that old familiar sense of jealousy back when ttc even though im early on in the journey. Boohoo

TheFanciestPants · 09/05/2023 11:23

@Eirlys1986 I completely relate. Fortunately most of my colleagues are male (strangely that seems to upset me less!). Random young members of my husband's family have announced pregnancies since we started which was tough especially one who was really rude to me in my late 20s (she had her baby around when my 12 week scan was scheduled) about not having children yet...Anyway, what I am trying to say is it's ok and perhaps even natural to be upset. My husband always tells me that there aren't a finite number of babies and that it'll all work out 😍
@TickingTui that's rough, but next month is a new chance!
@Mrsspoon3 I have heard this happens a lot with an ovulation happening later on. My cycle I didn't ovulate was really weird no EWCM at all (I normally get at least a week!).
@LeopardLover I think it depends on your cycle/flow. I get EWCM and very light spotting at the end of my period so I take the day it arrives as the first day post it, if that makes sense. Then I start testing and temping from cd7.

Mrsspoon3 · 09/05/2023 11:45

Thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 and @TheFanciestPants! Yes hopefully it will happen later, just so I know my body is working properly. I’ve not been ill and I don’t breastfeed (he wouldn’t take to it), but been quite stressed so don’t know if that affects it? Think I’m out this cycle anyway as don’t think I can talk my husband into trying again, even though we only tried twice! We’ve actually been arguing quite a bit as he hates the pressure and regimented way of doing it, but we don’t naturally have sex enough normally to just take a casual approach to it!

Mrsspoon3 · 09/05/2023 11:46

Sorry to hear that @Eirlys1986, I know that feeling well! It’s so hard when other people are getting pregnant even though you’re happy for them and even if you’ve not been trying long. Hope you’re feeling ok

VixFromThe6ix · 09/05/2023 11:48

That sounds like what I need. I had low progesterone issues before.
How much of it did you take? And what brand did you use?

Eirlys1986 · 09/05/2023 11:59

Thanks @Mrsspoon3 and @TheFanciestPants , I know I should try to rationalise how I’m feeling but with something this emotive it’s really hard isn’t it? Unfortunately I don’t like her much at the best of times so that doesn’t help. She also knows I was thinking of having another child but doesn’t know I am actively TTC as it isn’t professional for me to have told her that as I supervise her. She keeps asking me if I’m having any success even though I keep simply cutting her off and telling her I am not TTC and it’s not on my radar, a bit emotionally clumsy of her I think, Nevermind, I feel better for having spoken to you all as always xxx
