emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 19:13

@cobalt123 how long have you been trying?
I feel like bbt is great at detecting ovulation but the heartbreak when it drops at the end is horrible.

This is just the second cycle actually. Which is maybe why I've manager to convince myself im pregnant both times through symptom spotting things I've never noticed before.

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 19:32

@emmatcc1 thats great that your partner has given up smoking, really positive step 👍🏻 any reputable pre conception vitamin will have the standard 400mcg of folic acid in plus other good vitamins too. I think we’ve all got different vitamin regimes on her, I’m on proceive max due to age but others also taking other things including ubiquinol and various other brands of conception vitamins.
Im on 6 DPO of cycle two of trying for baby number 2, fingers crossed

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 19:32

*here

Clairey332 · 08/05/2023 19:35

Thanks @LeopardLover will definitely be interesting to see what happens this time! Hopefully I will be lucky enough to have another baby! The only thing I am worried about is the morning sickness and having another little one to look after at the same time!! I get terrible MS from around 9-13 weeks 😩

Does anyone know the guidance on taking Ubiquinol whilst breastfeeding as I have read it shouldn’t be taken. 🤔 x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/05/2023 19:45

@Eirlys1986 hope you've recovered! Not fun getting sick.

Hello all of the newcomers 👋

@Clairey332 I contacted Zita West when breastfeeding to check, and they said no ubiquinol while breastfeeding. I just started it after stopping

emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 20:04

@Eirlys1986 I was looking at a supplement that has 800mcg as well as vitamins b1, b6 and b12. Is that too much of folic acid?

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 20:07

@emmatcc1 no, that would be perfect 👍🏻 Enjoy munching those vitamins! Since I started mine again I have felt better within myself too which is always a bonus with a toddler in the house 😂

Muriel84 · 08/05/2023 20:45

@Eirlys1986 when do you think you’ll test? 😬 I have some ICs coming Friday. Have a whole load of other tests in too tho. Thinking of holding off till Friday…

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 21:00

@Muriel84 I think it would be ideal for me to wait till Friday too as then 10 dpo, however I have some early tests in house now so who knows?! 😂

I just love testing 🙄, I think I don’t have any negative connotations around testing early and getting negatives. A) Because I am early in ttc journey and B) Because I didn’t get my BFP with Frer during first pregnancy until 14 dpo(despite testing repeatedly like a crazy women in days leading up to this) so I really would hold onto hope even if persistently testing negative earlier in cycle.

Mirla · 08/05/2023 21:11

Hi to newcomers!

I'm either 6 or 7dpo, not sure because I failed at consistently testing this month. Also realised 2x per day is actually necessary close to the event, not just a marketing ploy 😂
I'll try to hold out til day 10 before testing this month. But I'm sure I can convince myself that ovulation was the earlier of the possible dates just so that comes round sooner, hah.

LeopardLover · 08/05/2023 21:17

Oh I'm loving all the pram chat! You've all convinced me the YOYO is the pram to get second time around. I'm going to check out the others too 🤣

@emmatcc1 Cycle 2 for me! I'm still on my period though so just waiting until I can start my OPKs 😊

@Clairey332 Do you always get it bad? You never know, it could be different this time! I'm worried about that too, I avoided sickness last time and due to COVID I didn't tell work until I was about 22 weeks. But who knows. My two year old is just starting to be more demanding too 🤣

@cobalt123 Welcome and fingers crossed for this cycle!

@TrudyProud Let us know how your mum takes the good news 😊

@Mummyme87 Where did you get your maca root from?

@VixFromThe6ix Oooh I wish we bought one of those trikes!

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2023 21:22

@LeopardLover I got mine from Amazon, red Maca root 1000mg

Mirla · 08/05/2023 21:22

I've not thought about prams at all... partner and I have this terribly naive idea we'll use those slings for carrying baby around... that plan might not survive contact with reality 😅

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 21:29

@Mirla the slings are great, especially early on as they love to be close to you. Everyone is different but I found having the pram gave me a rest from carrying when he would allow it! I had an emergency c section also so for the first 6-8 weeks I did carry in a baby carrier a lot as he had colic but it was very sore on the scar so I would’ve really liked him to have more time in a pram when out 👍🏻

emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 21:30

@LeopardLover I’m on my period as well. Cd4 I ovulated pretty early last two months hoping the supplements will help move it to around day 14.
@Mirla Prams are great for carrying all the extra baby stuff and baby will get heavy quickly.

LeopardLover · 08/05/2023 21:39

@Mummyme87 Thank you!

@Mirla Slings are great but @emmatcc1 is right, babies get heavy real quick. Especially if they come out chunky 🤣

emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 21:46

Exactly a friend of mine delivered a 10 pound baby boy earlier this year.

Mirla · 08/05/2023 21:47

Partner wants to improve his deadlift so he's looking forward to a gradually increasing weight to carry around for training that gets harder over time 😂
I think it's just an excuse and really he wants infinite cuddles... but that's ok too!

LeopardLover · 08/05/2023 21:56

@Mirla This is absolutely adorable. I remember everyone saying your baby will gradually gain weight so your arms will keep up but I always found my son really heavy ha ha. He's still heavy now (& insists on being picked up)! I love snuggles though.

@emmatcc1 I'm also CD4! I haven't been tracking ovulation yet but will from this cycle. I used to ovulate on day 14 but I suspect my vitamins might have brought things forward. Only time will tell. My son was 8lb 7 and that was heavy enough 😅

TrudyProud · 08/05/2023 21:58

@Mirla tbf I had my dd in a sling most of the time until she was about 3 months because she hated being on her back in her bassinet. However the bassinet was a lifesaver for changing multiple poonamis a day when out and about because some of the baby change facilities are shocking! Using dd bassinet I gave many a change on the Elizabeth line and at the bus stop .

With this pregnancy I expect to sling baby during the nursery run so I can take the yo-yo to nursery and use my cybex for walks with new baby plus any shopping I do because there is more storage compared to the yo-yo

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2023 21:59

There’s loads of great slings for older heavier children. They’re really good. Carried both my two children (10lb 5 and 10lb) for a long time

TrudyProud · 08/05/2023 21:59

@Mirla she was 8lbs (at 38 weeks) and I had a CS

emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 21:59

@LeopardLover I trying opks for the first time when should I start testing? I ovulated day 11 last two cycles and it usually varies between 10-14

VixFromThe6ix · 08/05/2023 22:08

I loved the sling in the beginning! He would fall asleep instantly and I could do dishes or vacuum and he slept right through it all. Also I had two free hands!!!

@Mummyme87 can you tell me about this root please? What does it do?

@emmatcc1 I would start testing 8 days after your period starts
