@Eirlys1986 gosh that is rubbish news for the bank holiday. Hope you and little one get well soon. 6dpo here too (obvs) and trying not to symptom spot 😂
@TickingTui I have been there, it's horrible, but you are not out until AF arrives. As someone who loves data (I am a statistician) there are depressingly few meaningful studies about female reproductive processes, so although that sounds like a platitude, it's so difficult to say anything meaningful and until AF arrives, you defintely aren't out. Disappointingly there don't seem to be many answers as to why things happen this way, but there's always hope. Sending positive vibes

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 07:29

@TheFanciestPants I am also symptom spotting but this has obviously become somewhat difficult with the inter current illness 😂

LeopardLover · 08/05/2023 08:46

@TickingTui Morning! Have you tested today? I got my BFP on 18DPO with my son and I swear I wouldn't have had an early line based on the colour. So you aren't out yet!

@TheFanciestPants I love that you're a statistician 🤓

@Eirlys1986 Oh no! You poor things. Hope it's short lived! At least you should be feeling better before more symptoms kick in as you progress through the TWW!

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 09:03

Thanks @LeopardLover , we are currently watching bounce patrol on repeat waiting for his next explosion 💥 😂. How are you?

LeopardLover · 08/05/2023 10:36

@Eirlys1986 Oh gosh 🤣 Not too bad thanks although I feel like I'm coming down with something which is typical ahead of our holiday next week! Period pains are easing up so looking forward to starting my cheapie OPKs on Sunday (that will be CD10...) Although, I wonder if I should start on Saturday as I'm on Ubiquinol too so who knows what's going on with my cycle. 🤔

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 10:40

Hope you have a lovely holiday, at least there won’t be any AF or pregnancy related nausea on the holiday. I will of course be delighted if we got pregnant this cycle but will also be mildly relieved to not feel sick for the all inclusive 😂
I don’t think there’s any harm in starting OPK a bit early if you’re feeling uncertain(other than having to buy more sticks)

emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 10:52

Joining here for support. I ordered some opks for the first time to try out. I’m cd4 on cycle 10 of trying.

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 11:12

Hi @emmatcc1 👋 😊, hope you find the group supportive 👍🏻, I certainly do. Are you TTC your first? X

TheFanciestPants · 08/05/2023 11:18

@emmatcc1 welcome, we are all here to support, commiserate, celebrate! I did opks for the first time last month and it confirmed my suspicion I was ovulating earlier than my ovusense had been saying, so I think it was useful.
@LeopardLover hope you have a great holiday 😎. Off on a tangent, ubiquinol/CoQ10 is one of the few supplements with actual evidence of effectiveness (sure you all know that already!) but there is no consensus on how much is the right amount. So I upped it from 60mg to 200mg, which I think a few of us did at the same time?! And I think my ovulation symptoms were super easy to read on both Ovusense and Premom (first month) so I hope it is helping 🙏
@Eirlys1986 just the way you wanted to spend the bank holiday... I haven't heard of bounce patrol but guessing it's popular in the U3 age band?
@Mummyme87 - congratulations on your bfp! Sorry a bit slow as there was a lot to catch up on!

Clairey332 · 08/05/2023 11:34

Hi All, hoping to join the journey with you guys. 38 and hoping to conceive this year. Exciting but scary all at the same time. 😆

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 11:53

Hi 👋 @Clairey332 it is so exciting! Good luck, I’ve already got so many great ideas from the ladies here in helping the ttc efforts x

emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 11:55

@Eirlys1986 yes this is my first.

@TheFanciestPants I started bbt 2 months ago and I did get my ovulation right so that didn’t change but I found out my luteal phase was a day shorter than I thought. I’m trying opks so I know before I ovulate and not when it’s already over.

Angelsrose · 08/05/2023 12:11

Hi @emmatcc1 I am also TTC #1 and I turn 38 later this month. I am on cycle 4, CD15 and still getting flashing smileys on the clearblue ovulation tests! I found "The impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant" a useful read and I also listened to "It Starts With The Egg" on Audible which has lots of good tips on supplements and diet. If you have been TTC for more than 6 months and you are over 36, you can ask your GP for a referral to a fertility specialist for initial tests. There is so much support in this group too. Wishing you the best!

Angelsrose · 08/05/2023 12:12

Welcome @Clairey332 Are you TTC #1?

Clairey332 · 08/05/2023 12:29

Hi ladies, thanks for the welcome. @Eirlys1986 I am taking vitamins and omega 3 but not sure if I want to add anything else until I give it a chance and see how long it takes us to TTC.

@Angelsrose No. This will be #4 for me 😆 I had my LG 10 months ago. Good luck to you too! X

emmatcc1 · 08/05/2023 12:35

@Angelsrose I’ll see a doctor at the 18 month mark if we get there since I’m only 22. I joined this group because all the others aren’t very active and responsive.

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 12:44

@Clairey332 I think since you mention this will be your fourth whatever you have done so far has obviously worked 😂, perhaps then best to give it a little time on what you are already on and see what happens! 🤞 x

TheFanciestPants · 08/05/2023 13:03

@Angelsrose the impatient guide sounds good, thanks for recommending. I read the Emily Oster book, but got a bit frustrated by the lack of good data points 😂

Clairey332 · 08/05/2023 13:19

@Eirlys1986 our LG was a huge surprise! I had been doing the ketogenic diet on and off for 2 years before hand and I think the stress of the diet on my body probably stopped me getting pregnant. We were not actually trying but we said if it happens it happens, didn’t actually expect it to! 🤭😂😂 My other children are 11 and 18 so wasn’t sure if it could actually happen that easily given I was so much older this time around. 😬 I am still breastfeeding my little girl so only just had my first period since her birth. I am on cycle day 11 x

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 13:24

@Clairey332 I am still breastfeeding my 18 month old and periods returned perhaps around 5 months ago, lots of ladies on here still breastfeeding and I believe @TrudyProud who has had a positive test was breastfeeding too? (Correct me if I’m mistaken!). I am on cycle 2 of trying (smep and proceive max) so fingers crossed. Sending lots of luck your way

Clairey332 · 08/05/2023 13:59

Oh are you @Eirlys1986 thats fab! That’s really good going. I BF my last daughter for 25 months and my period came back at around 9 months like it did this time! Strange how things like that happen. It’s really nice to see other ladies still BFing too! Gives me more hope now!! Xx

TrudyProud · 08/05/2023 14:08

@Eirlys1986 @Clairey332 you are right I'm still breastfeeding my 12 month old (she's currently on the boob as I type).
She no longer has boob overnight or at least it's extremely rare.

This was our first cycle TTC so for me (really grateful) breastfeeding had no impact on TTC. My periods returned at 6 months despite exclusively breastfeeding. Baby dust to everyone

Muriel84 · 08/05/2023 14:19

👋 new people! Welcome ❤️

@TrudyProud ah breastfeeding is such a good time for catching up on your phone or having a read. Also sorts out the problem of the fact my LO will. Not. Stop. Talking. At bedtime! Issues are nap times I don’t feed to sleep any more and he just goes on and on and on. 🤯

my periods also came back at 5 months despite EBF 2 million times a day.

Eirlys1986 · 08/05/2023 14:20

@TrudyProud its really reassuring to hear about your ease of ttc whilst breastfeeding, I know there are so many factors that may have been going “just right” for you and another month may not have been the same but it’s still good to hear. Sometimes people (including health professionals) can look at women like they’ve sprouted a second head when they are ttc or pregnant and still breastfeeding!

Muriel84 · 08/05/2023 14:21

Pressed send too soon. @TrudyProud how are you finding BF while pregnant? I have found it can be uncomfortable during period/ovulation. Tho isn’t is bad as it was when he was smaller. x
